Hi
We are following Classsic Scenario.
When the user is creating the shopping cart user is getting the error "Enter the country for the partner ID"
When we checked the User Profile we got an info to repair the shopping cart at level 2 with transaction "BBP_CHECK_USER".
The user has no workflow linkage Configure workflow
Either we are not able to repair bcoz of Open Shopping Cart exists. We closed all the open SCs and still getting the same message as Open SCs exist.
Please can anybody explain how to Check/repair the users profile?

The User Profile Service service failed to Login user Profile error in Windows 7 Home Premium
Hi,
I recently purchased a new Dell Inspirion 1564 Laptop which had Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed.
The hardware configuration is i5 core Processor, 4GB Ram , 320GB HDD and 512MB Graphics card.
Today morning, I couldn't login as the system returned the following error after I entered the password.
"The User Profile Service service failed to login.
User Profile cannot be loaded"
I couldn't login at all as i had not created any other user account, even the face recognition didn't work.
I had to restore my pc to the previous state. I believe this happened after the installation of Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - March 2010 (KB890830) update, not immeditately though as i used the system few times after the installation of this update.
Is this a bug? I cant imagine if this happens if I am about to give a presentation, its going to be disastrous!
Any help is appreciated
AvinashI'm getting the same issue - I'm the IT Manager at a school where every student has a laptop (fujitsu tablet T4410). This occurs to at least one new student every day. I have been unable to re-create the issue on demand, although I suspect it occurs when a temporary user profile gets created after the logon process takes too long (due to some disk activity, possibly related to windows updates or some thing). When we were creating student accounts on the machines, this would occur if we attempted to log in the newly created account before the computer had 'settled down' - it seems that there is a logon timeout, after which something stops working. If the new user's first logon happened too soon after booting, the profile would be corrupted. But this doesn't quite explain why it occurs seemingly randomly now.
My current solution is to boot into safe mode, back up the user's files, delete the account, create it again (the other suggested solutions on the internet did not work)
If you're desperate, you can log in while in safe mode, and use that to create a new account.
In any case, this is proving a very bad experience of Windows 7 for my students, and I hope to see a more useful fix for this soon. -

When I am using my work laptop this is not a problem because I have a local profile but as I was setting up a co workers new laptop and I attempted to log into my domain profile it logged me into a temporary profile since there was no local profile and I
am unable to install or modify anything to set this laptop up. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!Hi Damian,
Please verify the logon script, it doesn't have any information about roaming profile which i feel. Please verify the script and the pictures i have attached already, then give me the solution / suggestion. Thanks.

Office 365 - Access User Profile -Error: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation
Hi,
I am using a console application to read the user profile data in office 365.
I am getting the error as "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation", while running the console.
I have used the below code:
static void Main(string[] args)
Uri test_targetSite = new Uri(test_siteurl);
string decryptedPwd = Decryptdata(password);
foreach (char c in decryptedPwd)
securePassword.AppendChar(c);
SharePointOnlineCredentials onlineCredentials = new SharePointOnlineCredentials(login, securePassword);
//getting UserProfile Service
TestAdminUserProfileService.UserProfileService admin_ups = new TestAdminUserProfileService.UserProfileService();
admin_ups.UseDefaultCredentials = false;
string authCookieValue = onlineCredentials.GetAuthenticationCookie(test_targetSite);
admin_ups.CookieContainer = new CookieContainer();
admin_ups.CookieContainer.Add(new Cookie("FedAuth", authCookieValue.TrimStart("SPOIDCRL=".ToCharArray()), String.Empty, test_targetSite.Authority));
// Gets the first profile
GetUserProfileByIndexResult pResults = admin_ups.GetUserProfileByIndex(-1);
int totalUsers = (int)admin_ups.GetUserProfileCount();
int counter = 0;
//Loop through all UserProfiles and Add to custom Group
while (pResults.UserProfile != null)
try
// Get the next profile
pResults = admin_ups.GetUserProfileByIndex(Convert.ToInt32(pResults.NextValue));
How to fix this for Office 365?
ThanksHi,
Thanks for the reply.
1. How to check, which is the App pool account for office 365 portal?
2. Which account has access to user-profile service application? if yes, how to verify the same?
3. How to access Manage service applications in office365? Like in SharePoint 2010 or 2013
Go to SharePoint Central Admin > Application Management > Manage Service Application
Thanks -

Error when editing Portal User Profiles
Hi there,
I got this error message when editing Portal User Profiles
Error: The specified user does not exist. (WWC-41406).
I can select users from OID, but can't edit them.
Note: these users are imported from AD and placed in a different OU other than users container in OID.
But, If I create a user in the same OU from Portal Administration page, then I can select and edit that user's Portal Profile.
So what's the difference between imported users and the user created from Portal?
Please advise.
Thanks,
GeoffREPORTSDEV was an invalid user so we dropped this user and started over and now it works.

Iv been using FF on my lappy for years, now suddenly, when I try to start FF it asks me to select a user profile between the following options: -
- default
- default-<number>
This has annoyed me to no end, its bad enough that FF does update checks and installs on startup, but now this????
Has it occurred to FF developers that when users pop open a browser we need it to snap open, we dont always have ridiculous amounts of time to wait for it to start. What if Im checking the bus timetable - Id miss the bus. Or the times Iv been in conference and needed a quick webpage - embarrassed! So many times Iv need FF and she couldnt be there for me in time. If I wanted a massive delay and/or additional tasks between clicking open and it opening then Id of course look for some ridiculous adobe product instead.
Anyways as much as I love and adore FF I have sadly closed her because of this, and will use Chrome instead. Ill check every now and then to see if the Choose User Profile error has gone away.
Thanks for breaking my heart.My suggestions: Initially let's keep it simple instead of editing profiles.ini directly use the profile manager dialogue that is appearing.
* Please confirm Firefox actually works ok ?<br />(Other than offering you a choice, and a slow startup.) You are able to progress past the profile choice and use Firefox as a browser ?
* Have you identified differences between, and tried Firefox with both of the profiles ?
* You need to decide which profile you need to keep. Unless they are very close copies/clones they will differ in for instance the bookmarks & login details they provide. (Will include; potentially years of; History also)
* From the profile manager dialogue you should be able to choose which profile to use AND then choose not to ask in future.
That is the simplest and safest way of dealing with this problem. If that method does not work something is going wrong. As mentioned by ''cor-el'' possibly security related software is aggressively ''protecting'' against settings changes. -

We're trying to set up sync between Sharepoint and AD so photos are displayed in Lync.

App-V 5 SP2 as RemoteApps and User Profile Disks with Error Error 0xc0000142
App-V packages are published as RemoteApps and User Profile Disks are used.
Similar to the problem posted
here .
Some packages are running without an error (e.g. Acrobat Reader) and some other (e.g. Notepad++) could not launch.
The result is "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the Program.
If UPD is disabled, packages running before gets now the error and the non-launching apps are running now.
The post by Steve TH "App-V 5.0: On these 0xc0000142 errors and where they are coming from" give
me an idea what´s may going on. But could not find anything related in the logs.
An answer was set as solution in this
post but it´s not clear for me, how to setup the Sequencer.
8.3 is enabled on all VMs.
How to setup the sequencer and the UPD configuration to run this scenario without the error?
/vkleinerdeHello,
First thought is just to make a copy of the prod RDS-server, sequence on it and then see how it goes?

How do I prevent "The user profile service service failed the log on" error messages?
I work for an organization with approximately 60 staff members across ~80 Windows 7 Professional PCs. Users log in with Active Directory accounts.
Approximately once per month, a random user will get an error message while attempting to log into their machine that says "The user profile service service failed the log on." The solution to resolve this issue is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215?ppud=4&wa=wsignin1.0.
The problem is that I want to PREVENT this issue from happening, as it is incredibly inconvenient for the user. I had one staff member board a 5-hour plane trip expecting to do work, and once she got in the air she logged in and
received the error message and was unable to use her computer for the trip. I've had others locked out of their computer with deadlines to get things done, while I am at home off the clock. Editing the registry is not an easy fix, and so it's not something
I can just post instructions for in a knowledgebase article.
Does anyone know how to prevent this issue from occurring? I believe that it has something to do with a network-based startup script, or a service trying to connect to our file server, or the computer trying to connect to our ad server. All of these
are blocked by firewalls (unless the user is off-site), and I suspect that the services may be timing out, causing the user profile service service failed the logon error message, but I can't seem to eliminate it, after nearly a year of trying.
90% of the time this problem occurs when the user is off-site, but it has happened while the user is in the office too. Once the user gets this error message, the only way to resolve the problem is to log into their computer as a localadministrator account
and perform the method #1 fix in the knowledgebase article.
ThanksHave you checked the logged files in event viewer around the time when problem occurred?
Is there any suspicious events like error or warning related to this issue.
Try run Active Directory Best Practice Analyzer:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd759260.aspx -
I am running an environment with an Active Directory and Terminal Servers.
I have searched high and low for resolutions to this error but I cannot find anything related to my situation, let me explain further.
The fixes I found are related to local users only.
When I create a new user in the Active Directory I provide the paths to the profile folder in the "Remote Desktop Profile" and "Profile tab" lets say for example \\ad001\home\%username% and \\ad001\profil\%username% .
I give rights to the user to read/write the "home" folder which is mapped for folder redirection. An I know that when the user first logs on it should create a "v2.%username%" folder upon successful logon. This is when I am
presented with the error message below:
"The registration of the service "User Profile Service" has failed.
The user profile can not be loaded"
Does anyone have any experience with this or know a suitable fix. Again this is for the "Roaming" profile creation no local.
Many thanks in advance.Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Did you receive for any one user or for all users?
Have you tried to solve the issue by fixing the user account profile?
For that you can adjust the registry setting “ProfileImagePath” with
particular SID of that user under below mention path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Also if this can’t resolve the issue you can try to delete the SID of that user or renaming the old and and then check the result again by creating new profile for that users.
More information.
You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error message

Hope it helps!
Thanks.

The SharePoint instance has the march mandatory update installed. The sql instance we are using is an existing SQL cluster for other SharePoint poc's.

are put into any new database when it is created. I had some custom tables in the model database so I deleted the custom tables in the model database and deleted the failed user profile service application and its databases and then tried to recreate
the user profile service application again and it worked with no errors -
Hi,
I am working on updating picture of user profile in sharepoint 2013.
I am getting error "exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" while creating Thumbnail at the below line.
"file = (SPFile)mi_CreateThumbnail.Invoke(null, new object[] { original, idealWidth, idealHeight, folder, fileName, null });"
I have added SPUtility.ValidateFormDigest() before calling this method. but no luck.
Please help me on this.
Thanks
HareeshHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to update picture in user Profile.
If we are giving an option to change the Profile picture in our custom component, we need to create 3 different files and update the reference in User Profile property.
To create Thumbnail, we can use the code as below:
/// Get sealed function to generate new thumbernails
public SPFile CreateThumbnail(Bitmap original, int idealWidth, int idealHeight, SPFolder folder, string fileName)
SPFile file = null;
Assembly userProfilesAssembly = typeof(UserProfile).Assembly;
Type userProfilePhotosType = userProfilesAssembly.GetType("Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfilePhotos");
MethodInfo [] mi_methods = userProfilePhotosType.GetMethods(BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Static);
MethodInfo mi_CreateThumbnail = mi_methods[0];
if (mi_CreateThumbnail != null)
file = (SPFile)mi_CreateThumbnail.Invoke(null, new object[] { original, idealWidth, idealHeight, folder, fileName, null });
return file;
Then we can invoke the method as below:
using (MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream(buffer))
using (Bitmap bitmap = new Bitmap(stream, true))
CreateThumbnail(bitmap, largeThumbnailSize, largeThumbnailSize, subfolderForPictures, accountName + "_LThumb.jpg");
CreateThumbnail(bitmap, mediumThumbnailSize, mediumThumbnailSize, subfolderForPictures, accountName + "_MThumb.jpg");
CreateThumbnail(bitmap, smallThumbnailSize, smallThumbnailSize, subfolderForPictures, accountName + "_SThumb.jpg");

Abhishek MadanHi Abhishek,
According to your description, my understanding is that the User Profile Synchronization service stuck on ‘Starting’ or ‘Stopping’.
Please check whether you installed SQL 2012 Native Client (Pre-requisites) on SharePoint server. If yes, download and install SQL 2008 R2 Native Client from the below location:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/3/9138773A-505D-43E2-AC08-9A77E1E0490B/1033/x64/sqlncli.msi
From the SharePoint server ->control panel -> add/Remove programs , please confirm that the SQL 2008 Native Client is listed.
Make sure that the farm account is a member of the Administrators group on the server on which you are trying to start the User Profile Synchronization service, then restart the SharePoint Timer Service.
Set the FIM services to "Local System" before starting the service.
There is a troubleshooting for User Profile Synchronization Service start issues, please have a look at:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg750257(v=office.14).aspx
Here are some similar posts for you to take a look at:

Error while running User Profile Import - Stopped-extension-dll-load
Hi guys,
I'm receiving below error message in event viewer while running user profile import for the first time with event ID 6166:
The management agent "MOSS-" failed on run profile "MOSS_EXPORT_". The run step stopped because a configured extension for this management agent could not be loaded.
User Action
Verify that the extension is located in the Extensions directory. If the extension is present, confirm that the version of the .NET framework that can run the extension is installed on the server and that a supportedRuntimes entry in the configuration
files specifies that version. The synchronization engine will not be able to load an extension that is built with a newer version of the .NET framework than the version of the .NET runtime it is hosting.
At the same time , in miisclient "stopped-extension-dll-load" message for MOSS_EXPORT,MOSS_FULLSYNC, MOSS_DELTASYNC. Can any help to let me understand what will be causing this issue?
Farm version: 14.0.6137.5000Hi Sarath,
For this issue, I recommend verify the things below:
Check if the connection name of the Synchronization Connections created in User Profile Service Application has more than 55 characters. If yes, please rename the connection with less than or equal to 55 characters.
Check if the length of the full path to the dll called “Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.ManagementAgent” is
greater than 160. If yes, then we can move the extension Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.ManagementAgent.dll to the folder c:\windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL and then do an IISRESET.
If above cannot work, please check ULS log for more detailed error message.
Best regards,
Victoria Xia
