User Profile Photo

THis is kind of a stupid question but I need the help anyway.
When I first setup my MacBook Pro, it snapped a profile picture. My son was sitting in front of the computer and it was his picture that was used as my profile pic. Somehow the picture was recently replaced with a newer photo me.
Where is that original photo stored. I cannot find it anywhere on Mac.
Thanks.

Go in your Accounts folder and click on the picture icon to edit it.

Some of the users Profile photo is not showing in the list of SharePoint team site.
In the people picker their picture is grayed out but if you click on their name it will direct you to their mysite and the picture is there.
Can some body help on this.

    Try running:
    stsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases 0
Then, run the timer job named similar to "User Profile Service Application - User Profile to SharePoint Full Synchronization". Wait for it to complete, then re-check the profile photo on the SharePoint site.

  • How to Upload Many User Profile Photos/Pictures

Hi everyone. We've been struggling on uploading user profile pictures to our Sharepoint online sites. I have been reading this post http://get-spscripts.com/2010/12/upload-multiple-user-profile.html but it kind of helps but not really. If we rename our picture
files to DOMAIN_LoginName.jpg which in our case would be corp_joe.smith.jpg I am curious how Sharepoint Online knows where to put the files? We don't use our domain to authenticate to SO (or do we?). Then it wants the URL of the mysite site. Is that a collection
site? How do I translate this to Sharepoint Online? This post is a few years old so I don't expect it to match up exactly but is this even possible with the newer Sharepoint Online?
    thanks!

We do have them in AD but according to other posts and Microsoft articles, we need Outlook Online to sync pics. Apparently Outlook Online syncs from AD and SP syncs from Outlook Online. Since we do not have Outlook Online, we are out of luck.
If that isn't true, we're all ears on how to perform the sync. thanks!!

  • Prompt for user profile photos

    Hi,
When we try to open any page in SharePoint with intranet users' pics in it, sometimes it prompts for user name and password and that to many times not once. So if I provide the username and password then it allows me to see the profile pics in the
page otherwise shows a "x" on the picture.
I want to know why this happens for some pics only not all?

    Hi ,
What do you mean intranet users' pics?
Does your MySite Host site have different FQDN from your SharePoint site?
Please check if adding MySite url in IE browser trusted sites zone could work.
If it still doesn't work, please check ULS log see if there is any related error for any clue when access the SharePoint page containing intranet users pics.

  • Account profile photo location

    Hi there!
For the account user profile photo, I used the camera to take a photo of myself. I really like that photo and want to used it for other place but I couldn't find the photo anywhere. Does anyone know the location of profile photo? Or how to retrieve it as a file? Many thanks.

    look in the following locations
    1. /Library/Caches
that's the library at the top level of the drive, not in your home directory. if it's there it would be a .tiff file.
2.home directory/pictures/photobooth (you looked there already i guess)
    3. home directory/library/application support/address book/images
    4. home directory/library/images/iChat Recent Pictures.

  • Loading MySites profile photos from Exchange 2013 to Sharepoint 2013

    Hi
I've configured SharePoint 2013 to get it's profile photos from Exchange 2013 using the method in the link below BUT Is there way to force the initial sync other than requiring the user to load their profile in a browser?
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/jenstr/archive/2012/08/17/using-exchange-2013-preview-high-resolution-photos-from-sharepoint-server-2013-preview.aspx
    Thanks

As a workaround I have applied a client-side powershell load of the SharePoint thumbnail image.  This triggers the sync just like loading in a browser does. I run it hidden on the user PC.  I run it once a day for a while as for some reason
a load of the profile does not always trigger the sync and if it does not subsequent immediate sync's don't help - presumably due to the UserPhotoExpiration or
    UserPhotoErrorExpiration settings.
    Here's the code - enjoy....
    # script to trigger Sharepoint to download the high res photo from Exchange
    # sadly this must be done client side.
    # have PC management software copy the files to the local PC then run......
    # powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -noninteractive -File "%temp%\PhotoSync.ps1" >>"PhotoSync.log" 2>&1
    # All output will end up in the log file
    # the following syntax triggers the download (just find yours from your Sharepoint User profile photos)
    $username = [Environment]::UserName
    $userphoto = "https://people.myco.com/User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/" + $username + "_LThumb.jpg"
    write-host "$username : $userphoto"
    $web = New-Object system.Net.WebClient
    $web.UseDefaultCredentials=$true
    Try{
    $result = $web.Downloadstring($userphoto)

  • How to get User Profile Service information on user OTHER THAN current user?

So much information on how to autopopulate information for the current user or the logged in user in InfoPath.  But what about other users?  What if there's a field that's 99/100 times going to be the same person, but it's not the person that's
    logged in?
I would like not just to autopopulate a person field to be a specific user (which is not the current user), but I'd also like to autopopulate surrounding fields for that user's Title and Department.
For instance, consider the following 6 fields.
    1. Current User Name:
    2. Current User Title:
    3. Current User Department:
    4. Current User’s Supervisor’s Name:
    5. Current User’s Supervisor’s Title:
    6. Current User’s Supervisor’s Department:
I know how to get the first three; the internet is swarming with that information.
I'm struggling the last three; searching for this information is impossible without turning up information on current user instead.
The furthest I've gotten so far is to autopopulate Current User's Supervisor's Name by:
     1. Show Advanced View on Fields pane
     2. Expand my Field (which is really a group) called IT Manager Name
     3. Expand what shows up under that which is pc:Person
     4. Right click AccountId and choose Properties
     5. Set Default value to [our domain]\[IT Manager's ads username]
This solves how to get that 4th field my example list above Current User's Supervisor's Name to autopopulate, but how do I then get the Title and Department from the value I set in step 5 [our domain]\[IT Manager's ads username]?  Or is there a different/better
way altogether to go about getting a non-current user's info to autopopulate in InfoPath form fields?
    *UPDATE*
I just want to clarify that I'm not asking if there's a way to autopopulate the current user's supervisor.  I'm aware that Manager is one of the User Profile service fields.  But the point is that  I want to have a field in which the current
user fills in a username (different than his or her own), and to have User Profile Service called on that provided username to autopopulate Title and Department in surrounding fields.  The question is about how to call information with User Profile Service
on any provided username, specifically what steps to take to set this up in InfoPath Designer.

Have a look at the REST API. You can use the /_api/sp.userprofiles.peoplemanager/getpropertiesfor endpoint to query the user profile service for user profile properties of any user.
The API is documented here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn790354.aspx and here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj163800.aspx

  • Sharepoint 2010 user profile full synchronization process

what is the impact of sharepoint 2010 user profile full synchronization process in sharepoint 2010 farm.
If you have 5k users in your environment and you want to run full synchronization process, will that bring any services down?
I guess it should only impact anything related to user profile service?
    Is my assumption correct?
features like people search, my profile might be impacted but not the sharepoint site itself ...
    Any input will be appreciated...
    -Mit
    SP-Admin_Mit

Running a full synchronisation isn't going to bring down any of your SharePoint services. How much time it takes, and the impact it will have on other SharePoint services all depends on your SharePoint architecture. E.g is the synchronisation server also
a WFE (web front end) server?
According to the TechNet documentation, the synchronisation process makes heavy use of network resources, so that might be a concern.
Also, other factors, such as different synchronisation sources (other LOB systems you might be synchronising with) will have an impact on the time and resources used to perform the synchronisation.
If your SQL servers and SharePoint application servers are sized correctly, you should be fine (from a SharePoint perspective).
    For more info, see:
Profile synchronization overview (SharePoint Server 2010)

User profile sync Sharepoint 2010 photos thumbnail with AD and Lync 2010 - error on Full Synchronization- get events 8311, 6110, 6803 FIMSynchronization Service
We're trying to set up sync between Sharepoint and AD so photos are displayed in Lync.
The certificate referenced in 8311 is not the sharepoint root cert, its the UCC cert with our FQDN of the site. sharepoint.domain.com

  • Users are unable to see their own profile photo although everyone else can see it in Lync 2013 client

We have Lync 2013, Exchange 2010 and several AD
    servers in mixed mode 2003/2008.
All user are unable to see their own profile photo
either in the main Lync window, in the settings or in a chat although other user can see that their photo is there and displaying. The user experiencing the issue can go open Outlook 2013 client and will see their photo displaying correctly in the file menu
    (and elsewhere) here.
I have confirmed this happens with any new users I set up as well. We have gone through a fair amount of troubleshooting with other Lync photo issues and simple fixes such as deleting the SIP cache folder etc proves to be ineffective.
Our Cs-ClientPolicy Global is set to websearchonly.
We have "Replicate this attribute to the Global Catalog" set
for the ThumbnailPhoto attribute in AD.
We are also forcing photos from AD only (or no photo) by setting the following:
    "Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity PhotosControl -DisplayPhoto
    PhotosFromADOnly"
and finally we are importing the photo in ad using this PS command:
    "Import-RecipientDataProperty -Identity "Test User"
-Picture -FileData ([Byte[]]$(Get-Content -Path "C:\pictures\testuser.jpg" -Encoding Byte -ReadCount 0))"
The pictures being uploaded are under 10KB in size.
I have followed many threads and will provide any information I can to help find the problem. Thank you in advance.
EDIT: I have also tried the following but with no success: https://knowledge.zomers.eu/misc/Pages/How-to-fix-your-photo-not-showing-up-in-the-Lync-client.aspx

    Hi Jdentremont,
Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
    1.  Navigate to
     “X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
    2. Delete all the files in this folder.
    3. On test PC, delete local cache files.
    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
    4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
    5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • AD sync to populate Photos in MYSITE User profile

I have enabled AD sync to import thumbnail photos from AD to SharePoint 2013 user profile. Except for a few users, where the photos show up in their user profile, rest of the users have no photos showing up. If I check the LIST where synced photos are stored,
I see all photos there. Looks like AD sync based import works.
When I check the properties of the photo for users who have photos, it points to the list
    http://mysite.company.net/User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/zUser_MThumb.jpg .
When I check the properties of the photo box of user profile with no photos, I see a different URL, pointing to
    http://mysite.company.net/_layouts/15/images/PersonPlaceholder.200x150x32.png
I have engaged premier support for assistance and when we checked the User profile table, the URL for users with no photos is empty and URL for users with photos points to the LIST with photos.
    Anyone experienced this before?

Found the fix to the issue in a Blog. The issue was that I was unable to run the script Update-SPProfilePhotoStore -CreateThumbnailsForImportedPhotos 1 -MySiteHostLocation
http://mysite.company.net  after 2 full syncs. Checking the internet, I found the following Blog that stated that the account used to run the script needs to have Full Control permission to the User Profile Service
Application. I checked and found that the Farm account has the required permission, and used the account to login to an App server in the Farm and then ran the script. The script ran without errors and all photos that had synced up from AD  now show in
    user profile.
