User Read only on XE 5760/3850

Hi everybody, i have a pair of 5760 on stack and all works fine but like we know the 5760 and 3850 have XE software so the interface and the wet to create or config it different like on Aire OS... So i need to create a rean only username/password account but i try with different level of username didn't work... i don't if when i config the ssh on vty lines and the enable password have anything see on that... cause i didn't have access via vty if i don't have enable password configured. But now i enter my user name and password then i have to enter another password when i put enable to enter on privilege mode.

I am also trying to create an account so that we can provide read only access to the GUI.
I am unable to do this as it seems prompt for level 15 access.
It may not be possible but if anyone know that would be great.

Istore User read only access

Hi All,
Can you please tell me how can we create read only users to istore (R12).
is there any possibility to provide certain users with a read-only access?
We have a number of internal staff & sales people across the business who have requested access to Istore. As this is for retailers and people placing orders against live accounts that interface into Oracle ,we want to give only read access to certain users.

You can refer below document for what are the permission assigned to a user for displaying place order button and check out button.Using CRM HTML you have to create custom roles and assign permission to custom roles ,then you have to assign this role to that user doesn't need place order button.
You have to create Custom roles like XX_READ_ONLY_USER and assign the permission for this user for istore.
After select user management, search for the user and assign the custom role to the specific user.
IBE_CREATE_ORDER
Allows a user to submit a quote or cart as an order by pressing the Place Order button. If a user has this permission, ensure that he has the IBE_CHECKOUT permission as well, since without IBE_CHECKOUT the user will not see a Checkout button to enter the checkout phase.

Problem with Read-only user being able to add and delete files and folders.

The setup:
Computer #1
iMac (intel) running 10.5.5
File sharing ON
Sharing folder on external USB drive called 'iTunes' (but not the drive volume itself)
Users:
- Everyone = Read Only
- Admin(me) = Read/write
- UserA = Read Only (with account PW and username identical to local login for computer below)
Computer #2
UserA's iBook G4 running 10.4.11
When I go to finder>network>iMac>connect it prompts me to login which I do and then select 'iTunes' folder which is visible and mounts successfully. I can see all files, access them all. Life seems great. Then I discover that I can also modify and delete files from the iBook, and create and delete directories.
I'm new to networking and although I've setup and managed minimal networking tasks on PCs before, this is my first foray into the Mac networking world. Please help.
What am I doing wrong? What haven't I set?

Sorry, I should have clarified this in the first email.
When I login from the iBook, I am logging in under a read-only user (not as myself, who is admin on the iMac). The user on the iBook has only been given read-only permissions on the iMac yet is able to add and delete files.
This read-only login/PW however, is the admin account on the iBook, but that shouldn't allow this person to write on the iMac so far as I understand things...right?

Read-Only Access to Specific SAP tables

Is it possible to grant a user read-only access to a specific table or tables?
For example, say I wanted to give someone SE16N capability for just EKKO/EKPO/EKBE and NO OTHER tables. Is this possible? How?

as it was mentioned the transaction SE16N checks for authorization object S_TABU_DIS. The problem in your case is that the tables EKKO, EKPO and EKBE are already assigned to the authorization group MA - MM Appl. table. But there are many more tables assigned to this group. Changing assignment of standard tables is not a good idea.

Read Only Tablespace Backup Issue

I had been trying to to take Read Only Table space Backup. So, firstly changed the tablespace using
SQL> alter tablespace users read only;
Tablespace altered.
2. Then took backup of all the data files using OS Copy command.
Now , the issue i am facing is that can i change the table space to read_write mode???? If yes , then how?? , plz help...

How to modify edit/read mode pop up for documents in "SP2013" to open in only read only mode

Hi,
When opening a document the users of my site and including me are getting a pop up asking to open it in read only or edit mode. We want to disable the edit option for end users. Those are confidential doc's.
We want them to open only in read only mode. How can it be achieved.
Can we FORCE a read-only open of the document without giving anyone the option to open in edit mode? I don't have access to Central Admin. Hence kindly let me know if there is some javascript
code that i can use to do this from browser.

If users have edit permission on the documents in this library, even if we disable this dialog (by disabling the add-on "SharePoint OpenDocuements class" from IE browser), the users sitll could download the documents to local machine, and
edit the documents in client Office application, then sync to library.
If you want the users to read these confidential documents only, you can only grant the users read-only permission on the document items or on library level, then they could unable to edit these confidential docs, note to give proper users
proper permissions.
If you also want that the confidential docs could be opend and read-only in client Office application, you can configure the IRM (implemented by RMS) for SharePoint server, then set the document items in the library read-only for
some users.

Grant read only-rights to own schema

Hallo,
i have a schema (and i am the owner) of schema bbi. Now I wanna give to me read-only- rights. Is this possible? What ist the sql-query to give this rights to bbi? Which rights do I have as the owner of a schema? Which tables are nessasary?

One possible way would be to put your table into an
read-only tablespace, but then no one could update
it.Although the owner can still drop tables in a read-only tablespace (since that only involves updating entries in the data dictionary).
I'd second Andrew's question about why you'd want to do this. Normally, you would have one user that owned all the objects and grant many other users read-only access to that schema.

Raised a CR with Oracle and found that it is a bug
Bug 14082464 - CANNOT DISABLE TEST/TEST WEB SERVICE BUTTON IN SOA EM COSOLE is there in Metalink.
So my question is there any way by which i can disable the TEST button in EM Conasole.
I think there are some WLST script or servlet java class available to resolve this issue.
Can any one confirm this and please suggest if any one aware of any alternative method.

You are asking about a Database User I hope.
You can look into the Oracle 8i Documentation and find various privillages listed.
In particular, you may find:
Chapter 27 Privileges, Roles, and Security Policies
an intresting chapter.
You may want to do this with the various tools included with 8i - including the
Oracle DBA Studio - expand the Security node and you can create USERS and ROLES.
Or use SQL*Plus. To create a
user / password named John / Smith, you would login to SQL*Plus as System/manager (or other) and type in:
Create user John identified by Smith;
Grant CONNECT to John;
Grant SELECT ANY TABLE to John;
commit;
There is much more you can do
depending on your needs.

Please suggest me to make all the forms at a user level or responsibility level to be read only. So that when a particular user logs in, he gets all the form in read only mode or at a particular responsibility all the forms are read only so that we can attach this responsibility to the user for the same purpose.

According to your post, my understanding is that the read only user could not see the list view web part.
Per my knowledge, the issue may be cause that the user do not have the proper permission for the list.
1. Check whether the user can access the list.
2. Check whether the user can view all the items instead of partial items in the list.
3. Check whether there are some fields refer to other lists or terms, especially the lookup field or managed metadata filed.
If that is the case, make sure the user can access the lookup list.

Want to create a Read Only user for a given app owner user

Hi Folks,
We have an application owner schema, lets call it OWNER, which has different objects living under it.
Now, for certain reasons, the app group wants a read only user which should be able to view objects living only in OWNER. It would only be able to read things, and have no create or alter types of priv to be able to change anything.
The first idea was to create a new user (e.g. RO) and give this explicit grants (select only) for all objects in OWNER. Though this works, is a maintenance havoc, since everytime there is a new object in OWNER, you have to remember to give explicit grants to all RO (or RW ) kind of users.
What i am looking forward to is, some sort of privilege or role concept that apply on the user level, and not on object level. something that allows me to say, all objects of this schema (e.g. OWNER) are visible to user RO. Other restrictions on RO would control read or write behaviour.
Does this thing exist ? please point me to the documentation/example..

Server 2003: make user template with read-only access for shared folders

I have need to make a type of user (like Administrator, Power User, Mobile User, User, etc.) that has read-only acess to shared folders. So when I make a new user and assign the "read-only user" template I wish to have, the user can open files
in the shared folders on the server, but not edit, save or delete files. Other users can and should remain able to edit, save & delete.
Before I dig in, is this even possible?

You could create a Group called ReadOnly, and set that to have Read on the ACLs of the relevant files or folders.
Make that template user a member of that group.
As long as they are not also a member of another group that gives them higher permissions, this would work.
Otherwise set the ReadOnly group to deny Write, which would over ride any other permission set.
So,
Folder A
ACL:
ReadOnly : R
Users: Read/Write
If a user is a member of Users & ReadOnly, they would get read/write to Folder A. As permissions are cumulative.
If you did the following:
Folder A
ACL:
ReadOnly : R
ReadOnly: Deny Write
Users: Read/Write
The users in ReadOnly would be denied write, as it overrides the cumulative permissions.

I need to create a user with read only access to ESB Console & BPEL Console. I have created a user
(esbreadonly) and assigned ascontrol_monitor role but user is still able to
delete services from ESB systems (such as DefaultSystem). Is there any way to
create a user that has strickly read only access to ESB Console & BPEL
