as one want to register himselft on a website, last days he sees next to personal infomation fields an image with randon letters and digits. He must enter in a field manually what he sees, to let the web-application know that he is no robot.
Question 1. What is the name of it?

Export multiple images with random layers

I have this texture file that has many different variations to it. (3 different kinds of pants, different hairpieces, some optional items, etc...)
What i want to do, is export it with random layers selected. (there are also folders inside, it's fine if i have to merge the folder into a single layer, but it would be better if it could treat the folders as a layer)
There are 2 layers that must always be on,
then there are 6 other layers that can be mixed and matched completely at random.
Finally: there are 3 layers that only one of them can be active at one time (if one is active, the other 2 cannot be). Those last 3 layers I wouldn't mind if i had to go through manually and remove the combinations that couldn't work, but it would be much better to have it automatic.
Is there any way to script this so that it exports all of these textures as *filename*_*variation#*.png

But I cut corners, if I were more diligent I would also check for the existence of more than one layer and that the file has been saved at all (otherwise it has no path and an error occurs) etc.
-line 14 just makes sure it outputs no more than 20 images (which i find odd. the texture files are extremely small ~6.82 kb each, so loading them won't be a problem. it would be good if it got stuck in an infinite loop)

Why is thearray2 put in thearray, but then never used separately?
The function RandomShow checks if the elements in the Array are Arrays themselves
if (theObject.constructor != Array) {
and just assumes it is a Layer if it is not an Array.
But when it is an Array the function RandomShow is run with that Arrays elements as arguments.
This is intended to enable the various rules – for example if you have two or more Layers of which only one may be visible you could put them in such an Array with minimal and maximal set to 1, which should only make one visible.
But – and again I should have included checks for this – you should not put a Layer in more than one Array.
In the example changing theArray2 to
var theArray2 = [[theLayers[0], theLayers[1], theLayers[2]], 1, 1, "no"];
would mean that 7, 8 and 9 would only be visible individually.
But as theArray2 is itself part of theArray it may be visible or not unless it is set as the baseLayer.

Whether a Layer is visible or not is irrelevant in the curren tform of the Script, the Layers are addressed in the Array.
Introducing a check for visibility would be possible, but make the function a bit more convoluted as this would also affect the maximum number for example.
I don’t think I answered all questions, but maybe you’ve made progress on your own already and you can always post again if matters are still unclear.
Maybe the function is more complicated than it would need to be or maybe it will not be able to accomodate all your needs currently, but one could for example extend the baseLayer argument to an Array itself to have more than one element (either Layer or another Array) that will always be visible … there are still possibilities but the issue might be a bit complicated.

You might want to look at a dynamic pdf creator maybe, like
www.asppdf.com, it can load an image into a new pdf and put
dynamic text
where ever you want. The PDF can be streamed into the browser
for the
user to print.
Depending on your server technology you could also use a
dynamic image
library, which will do the same as above but directly with
images.

Good question. Not sure about iDVD. But I know for a fact I can use random transitions within DVDSP. However, if I'm not mistaken in iDVD I may be limited to the same transition within any given slideshow. I know it's possible to bring in an album into iDvd. And I know it's possible to use KB effects. But let me do some more searching for you because I forgot the exact procedure/s. I'll post back here later.

Using still images with Final Cut (and the apple suite in general)

I have had a re-occuring and long term problem that has caused me many lost hours of head scratching and work arounds, and as of yet I have not been able to come up with a good solution.
Its to do with integrating still images with the Final Cut suite.
If I receive a high quality image from a client to use in their video and I then try importing it into Final Cut and animating it, it always ends up looking like a pile of ahem. Often I will get "swimming" lines appear across fine detail on the image, and parts of it will flicker as it moves across the screen. For instance, if I have a picture of some blinds or other fine detail (especially horizontal and vertical lines), when I add a grow and throw movement to it the detail will become very noisy - buzzing and flickering like mad.
I have found I can counter this by resizing the image in photoshop to a resolution closer to SD video (700w or 500h) - but I always end up losing detail, and the flickering and noise is only reduced, not eliminated. Other things that have helped are blur effects applied at a very low level, like 0.5 blur, so its not noticeable visually, but Final Cut seems to treat it differently and quieten the noise and flicker down.
However, all of these workarounds are ultimately still giving a reduced quality product.
Also, this problem is not necessarily constrained to Final Cut, I am currently fighting DVD Studio Pro because it is murdering the text quality in a stills slideshow I am creating - and in this situation there is no animation being applied. No matter what file type (psd, jpeg, tiff, png...) or size I output the text and images from Photoshop in, the moment DVD studio pro gets hold of it, it turns to cripe.
For a while I was putting it down to the fact that I usually edit in SD (PAL) formats, and there just wasn't the resolution available to reproduce fine detail. However, I do often see other people achieving pin-sharp fine detail on still images and text in SD formats (the Apple templates are a good example)
So, my question to you, oh great and high boffins, if you are dealing with still images and text, how do you do it? How do you work around any noise problems you have, and how do you produce those pin-sharp images (both moving and still) I see in other professional productions?

still images with too high a resolution will always cause problems. this is due to the detail of the image being finer than the scanline of the tv can display ... obviously this will caise the image to flicker as these details alternately appear and disappear as and when the scanline can display them. as you have discovered, the answer is to apply a very small blur, the effect being that the detail is spread by the blur such that the scanline can dislay it correctly.
text issues are often rooted in the same problem ... unless the text is placed very carefully (whole even number on the y axis) then the quality may be impaired due to the resulting interlacing/scanline issues

Does word or powerpoint associate a tooltip and hyperlink to an image and then allow that image with those associations to be copied to another open word or powerpoint document? If not then your probably wasting your time.

Tagging an image with a callout and caption

The document is created in MSWord 2013. It contains screen captured images along with added call-outs and a caption for each (see image #2 below). The call-outs extend outside the image border. I used the 'group' option in Word to group each of the elements together as they tend to move around the page during the editing process. The 'picture' group is formatted as 'inline with text' or 'top and bottom'.
In Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, I am trying to fix the tags for the figures. Although each of the elements are group in Word, they are appearing as separate elements/tags. (see image #1 below) ...the image is one Figure, the call-out is another Figure and the caption is yet another Figure. How should I handle this type of situation? I have tried:
1. to tag all three elements as a 'Figure'. Sometimes this works; sometimes the caption and/or the text in the call-out disappear.
2. to tag all three elements as a 'Figure/Caption'; however, I get the same results as above...sometimes the caption and/or text in the call-out disappear.
3. I also tagged the call-out as 'background' and then tagged the image and caption together as either 'figure' or 'figure/caption'; however, when selecting the image and caption, I must select the call-out as well because of it's proximity to the image. End result: text in call-out disappears.
What is the proper way to tag in this situation?
As an aside, I find the entering the ALT text in MSWord does not carry over to the PDF. I've experimented with the too. I've added the ALT text to the image on its own and to the group. I've added it to the "Title" field; however, the ALT text field in the PDF is empty. I've given up on adding this in Word and now add them directly to the tag.
If someone can help point me in the right direction on how to fix the tag issues for images/callouts/caption, I'd be very grateful!!!!! (BTW, using a page layout application is not an option. I must use MSWord 2013 to create my documents.)

I think my Word 2013 might have a bug. When i enter text into either the 'title' field or the 'description' field, the text does not move over or wrap around so that i can fully see what i've entered. i wonder if this is impacting the carry-over into the pdf file?
the company I work for does not 'officially' support this version of Word, as i am an 'early adoptor' of this version. until the rest of the company moves to this version, i'm kinda on my own. i am going to see who i can speak with to see about getting an update, though. maybe that will fix the problem.

Iphoto exporting images with no name and mail with no reply info

One of our Macbook pros, running osx 10.8.5, is sending email via iphoto that ,
#1) creates a photo with NO NAME that cannot be saved no matter what you do,
and
#2) the email can not be forwarded, seems like because there is not "reply to" information.
the Prefs are filled out correctly in the iPhoto email settings.
Why did they configure iphoto to do the "send" FROM iphoto in this OSX version? This worked fine before as it would open up your mail whereby you could arrange and double check things.
So i was trying to do a work around by sending the email to myself but the email and the attachment can not be forwarded. As well the image CAN NOT be dragged to the desktop to be saved. USELESS!

InDesign has a feature that will automatically search for other missing links when you fix a missing link. When you relinked the first of your grayscale images, you may have accidentally relinked to the saturated image. When this happened it searched the directory that the newly re-linked file was in for all the other missing files. Since your image names all matched up to images in that directory, they all got re-linked.
This auto-relink feature can be toggled in the relink dialog:
If you have a backup of your file, you can revert to that version, and try to relink your images from that one. In the future you should make sure that images all have unique identifiers, it is bad practice to have images with identical names.

Sharing an internet connection with Airport express and Time Capsule

Hi, I have been happily using a cable modem and a Time Capsule for my internet connection and wireless network. We recently added solar panels to our roof and the system needs to be connected to the internet so it can be monitored remotely. Calling Comcast is an exercise in frustration, and the solar people don't seem to know exactly how to do it, so I'm trying this.
We bought an Airport Express, thinking if it is connected with an ethernet cable to the solar system, it could somehow share the internet connection with the Time Capsule, or they could talk to each other. When I plug in the Airport Express, the only set-up option seems to be to set up a new network, which I don't think I want to do. Can anyone tell me how to set this up? Thank you!

You should configure the Express to "Join a wireless network" or to "Extend a wireless network". (Either one will work.)
Connect your computer to your Express via Ethernet and open AirPort Utility. Press "Manual Setup" and authenticate if necessary.
Go to the "Base Station" tab. Give the Express a name and password.
Go to the "Wireless" tab. Set the Wireless mode to "Join a wireless network" or "Extend a wireless network." Enter the name of the wireless network created by your Time Capsule (or select it from the list). Check the box that says "Allow Ethernet clients" (if you're joining) or "Allow Wireless Clients" (if you're extending).
Provide the appropriate security mode and password for the Time Capsule's network.
Press "Update" and allow your Express to restart.
Then you can plug the solar system into the Express's Ethernet port.

We have to create windows 7 x64 and windows 8 images with all the custom applications and which can also be used on all the hardwares. I heard MDT can be used. How can I do this and what are the pre-requisites for installion and steps for configuring MDT

do we need ADK for installing MDT ? I tried installing ADK ,but it says you need have ADK documentation_x86_en_us.msi.

For drivers, I have always used the .inf files.
For applications, it depends upon how you want to deploy them. Lots of people build their 'gold' image to contain all the applications they want installed, and then use that as a basis for deployment. Others build special scripts in to select
specific applications based on security groups.
The thing about MDT is that it is very flexible and can be adapted to a lot of different situations. You first need to define exactly how you plan to use it and then build your image(s) accordingly.
The guides you can find online will assist you in the specific steps for the solution option you chose. There is not a single, simple answer to cover all cases.

Working with random numbers and probabilities

Hi again,
i am working with random numbers at the moment.
in the first step i do create a random number between 3 and 8 which is stored to a variable.
set myVAR1 to random number from 3 to 8 as integer
Lets assume myVAR1 is 5
Now i want to select 5 numbers out of number pool from 1 to 8. Each number should be pickable only once.
How would i realize that ?
I guess i need some kind of pool, array and then select 5 out of this array, but i am not sure about the syntax.
In best case i would like to add probabilities to those 8 numbers in the pool.
i.e.
1 (5%),2(5%),3(20%),4(10%),5(20%),6(10%),7(15%),8(15%)
any help is heavily appreciated
