User restrictions for cFolder in portal

Hi All,
I've cFolders integrated with EP.I've my multiple portal users mapped with one user in the R/3.What i understand is that what all authorizations is there for that user in R/3, it will be same for all the portal users who are mapped with that user.
Can I control this in any way so that inspite of all the portal users being mapped to one user in R/3, they have different permissions to perform different activities with cFolder content in EP.
Kindly suggest.Your efforts will be appreciated.

Hi,
cFolders can be implemented by itself or integrated with SAP ECC.
And since in your case its been integrated with SAP ECC all the permission will be inhertied from the ECCC-r/3 User. I feel its not possible to override the cFolders Permissions in portal.

Hi,
I am not sure if it will work, but try the following.
Instead of having ONE condition type, have two.
then maintain a condition record for each (MEK1), one with 0% and the other with 15%.
Set the condition type config as "No manual changes".
The user then has the option of entering one or the other but they cannot change the percentage.
I am not sure if this will work (I am not at my system at the moment to try it out), but it should be easy enough to test.

Override User Restrictions (N Characters) for select users in BOXI R2

We have a requirement to display Crystal Reports passed from BMC Remedy Mid-Tier to BMC Remedy AR Web Report Viewer to BOXI. The AR Web Report Viewer will only pass along 11 characters of the password and the BOXI system is set to require a minimum of 15. Is there a way to override the application set 15 character user restriction for 1 user?

You can't override this for a single user. N characters is applicable to all Enterprise accounts. However there is a trick to create a user account with a password that is less than 15 characters. You can lower the number of required characters to 11, create the user account and then change the number back to 15. Make sure that for this particular user you uncheck the feature that you need to change the password at first logon. Changing the number back to 15 will have no effect on already existing user accounts that have a password which is less then 15 characters.

Standard restriction is possible for this T code based on document type,purchasing group,purchasing org and plant.
Others being ruled out I think solution is to restirct using purchasing group which is smaller entity.

User Store for Portal

Hello,
We are implementing a new portal, and having trouble deciding on the user store for the portal.
Scenario:
u2022     The main functionality of the Portal is dependent on the SAP Systems (ESS\MSS), and BW System.
u2022     Currently there is no CUA or SAP Identity management Systems available.
u2022     The Usernames in our LDAP and SAP ECC systems are different, so we canu2019t use the LDAP.
From our preliminary brainstorming, we came up with following decision:
u2022     Use the ECC ABAP Store for user Base (So we leverage all the ECC users, and their current role assignments in the portal)
u2022     Later on, once weu2019re ready to install SAP IDM, and then Switch Portalu2019s User Store from ECC ABAP Store to IDM.
QUESTIONS:
1.     Is our approach here correct?
2.     Would it possible to switch portalu2019s user store from ECC ABAP Store to IDM?
3.     Should we consider installing CUA in the meantime until weu2019re ready to move to IDM?
Any Help or opinions would be much appreciatedu2026

Q2 Not really, see Q1 and in addition IDM is a Management and Provisioning System/Tool. It isn't a userstore on itself.
In other words IDM contains the single truth but it provisions it to systems (JAVA , ABAP, LDAP etc).
So it won't be possible to connect your Portal from an ABAP user store to an IDM user store as it doens't exist.
What theoretically could be possible is to now connect you Portal to an ABAP user store and later Back to its own UME and let this UME be under provisioning by the IDM system. Q3 Personally I think it is a first good step as it helps you to centralize and uniform your users and roles. But If you already decided to go for IDM (lets say next year) then it maybe the Return On Investment for implementing CUA now is nihil.

GRC AE User provisioning for Portal giving error

We are having GRC AC 5.3- SP9.
While doing user provisioning for Portal, we are getting the following error: DBCacheVerifier.java@58:isExpired(). Detailed error log is attached herewith. The back end system (EP Dev) is installed with GRC RTA. Connectors are testing OK. The CPIC user id in backend system EPDev is ED1GRC and has SUPER ADMIN Authorizations, with SPML read/write actions attached to the Role. EP Dev system is having UME as data source, not LDAP. The issue was existing even before the SP9 upgrade. We have restarted the Server several times lately. Pls help me in this.

This type of error would normally be a data setup issue. Have you imported all of the initial data files (XML ones)?
Otherwise, if it is just a cache issue, then restarting the server would normally solve the proplem. I would also check the Java Netweaver Admin console to ensure that the memory settings are sufficiently configured to match the hardware that is deployed.

The problem seems to be coming from the form. Is the form not using an API?

How do we restrict the user access for a particular G/L account

Dear Experts,
At our customer site, we follow master / derived role concept for authorisations.
We have a requirement to restrictict user at G/l account authorisation level.
I am aware that every g/l account account has a authorisaition group. But g/l account authorisation is a non-org value for which the present value is * for brgru, we cannot restrict by user/org. At our customer site the authorisations are provided at master role level for a designation and derived role is restricted for a plant, BA etc..
Is there is any user parameter level restriction which can handle this requirement, i mean user parameter for specific g/l account, as we do LIF pid to restrict vendor level access.

Depends.
What are you trying to protect? GL account masterdata (FS00) or FI document creation for specific GL accounts?
Without knowing more about the design principles behind your roles, your release or other restrictions, I would suggest:
(1) grouping off the GL accounts you want to protect in authorization groups (maintained via FS00);
(2) deactivating either object F_BKPF_BES (if your trying to restrict FI document creation) or object F_SKA1_BES (if your trying to restrict access to GL account masterdata) or both in master/derived role;
(3) create several separate roles that would contain only the aforementioned objects with access to specific GL account groups;
(4) assign the roles from step 3 to users as required.

I have a requirement that an user has 4 authorizations attached to him.
Auth1:
0REGION: US, INDIA,JAPAN
0PRODUCT: SHAMPOO
Auth2:
0REGION: US
0PRODUCT:SOAP
Auth3:
0REGION: *
0PRODUCT: DETERGENT
Auth4:
0REGION: ASIA
0PRODUCT: *
Now, this user when execute a report, then the report should pop up which authorization to choose and display the data accordingly on the specific input. For example.... if the user enters auth1, then PRODUCT SHAMPOO for REGION US,INDIA and JAPAN will be displayed.
Please help how to achieve this.

You can try out following things
Create a Info object for Authorization and include it in infocube on which query is based. Keep authorization blank in the info cube.
Maintain relation ship between Authorization Product and Region in DSO or Database table.
Create characteristics variable for authorization infoobject, Product and Region. Selection screen variable for Autorization will be ready for user entry. Selection screen variable for Product and Region will be customer exits variable.
In I_step = 2, populate variable values for Product and customer based on the user entry for authorizaton variable and clear values of authorization variable

From http://www.service.sap.com --> SAP Support Portal. You need a "SAP Service Marketplace" user. Usually, every SAP installation (server) or project has a marketplace user to report product errors, ...
After that, go to Help&Support --> Search for SAP Notes and there put OSS note number.
