User Safelist / blocklists and EMail aliases

Ciao tutti,
Here is a funny problem reported by one of my user who uses Blocklists a lot.
Basically, the Good Mister has serveral email addresses :
- Primary EMail : Good <dot> mister <at> email.com
- Secondary Email : GMister <at> email.com
All information is stored in Active Directory and I have an EMail alias consolidation query which displays all relevant email addresses of the user for Spam Quarantine notification.
Here comes the problem :)
When a sender in the blocklist sends an email to the secondary email address, the mail doesn't get blocked...
Is this a normal behavior ?
Would it be possible to have the blocklist applied to all email aliases of a user ?

The safelist/blocklist is tied to one email address. However, if you enable email alias consolidation done by LDAP and leveraging off of the Active Directory, then you may be able to achieve what you want.
The safelist/blocklist comes into play with respect to anti-spam results. The email alias consolidation should occur much earlier.
So, see if you can get email alias consolidation using LDAP/Active Directory working and it should address the safelist/blocklist thing.

Is it possible to retrieve users display name and email address with opensocial javascript e.g. Login widget seems to load user data (and userData.firstname) during the site init. Hi Ville,
in the logon widget, we also use the data retrevied from siteInit.loadData.data.user. However, this widget is part of the out of the box openSocial widgets, it is being released with the product code, not as a separate OS widget deployed on HANA Cloud Platform.
If you'll do window.parent.siteInit you'll probably will get the data you are looking for, but this isn't the official public API, so you can use it but we cannot commit on keeping this structure.
Why do you need this information in the widget level? Does your widget require authentication or is it for personalization needs?
The best way is to retrieve this info on the java side using HAHA Cloud Platform APIs and send them back to the client.

How to prevent users from saving and emailing intranet documents externally

Someone in our company needs to upload a pdf to our sharepoint intranet site for internal-only use. How can I prevent users from downloading it and emailing it externally?
I mean, a user could screenshot it I guess, but I need to give management a due diligence answer.

You would need to look into a reverse proxy/firewall that had the ability to block access based on content. This isn't something you can accomplish out of the box with SharePoint (even with AD RMS).

Why can't I set up and email aliases?

I've been trying for several months to set up an email aliases and it nerver works. What gives?

Same happening for me. I can't save an alias and get
"This alias cannot be saved at this time" for available alias'.
Is there someone to help??

Just an FYI - the free Yahoo accounts do NOT use POP mail...If you want this type of access, you have to pay for the upgraded version of Yahoo Mail...

I found the error on another thread. You can likely search for the other thread by using "Web Gallery Restore".
Apple support helped another user resolve the issue in 30 minutes on the phone. The problem is evidently due to the order in which I added the .Mac account to my iPhone vs. applying 1.01 update, vs. iLife 08 update.
The solution was to Restore my iPhone and then select NEW SETTING (not previous backup settings). Then, I setup my .Mac email address on iPhone. Then publish a new WebGallery in iPhoto 08 and ensure upload privilege is checked. Finally, sync with the Mac which enabled the WebGallery button (yea!) and restored contacts, calendar and other email accounts.
The only thing not retained was my wallpaper, usage statistics, and notes (none of these are a big deal).

I created a form that MUST have the user filling it out and his/her email in it, but I don't want the user to type it, instead I'd like the form to get it from Office 365 AD, since this form is in Sharepoint Online via Office 365.

I tried it, but the closest it got was showing the user's Group, not name and definitely no email, I don't know if this is because it's SharePoint Online and not OnSite and I don't know if UserProfileService is available there, I did not see it in the Site
Collection Features to enable it.
Any other idea/solution? without this info my form will not work.

Iphone and email aliases

I can't see or choose my MobileMe email alias when composing an email using my iphone. I tried to set up my email account using only my alias but it requires I set up with my original username. What am I missing or is this not an option on the iphone? My original email address ends up in the "from" field every time. I only want my alias visible. Is this possible from the iphone or strictly from my iMac?

After searching for this answering this morning (much more awake I am), I found a discussion that answered my question.

Customise EOP Spam Notification End-User email address and email content

We are using EOP with our on-premise Exchange 2010 environment.
I am rolling out EOP and have the following two (simple) questions, regarding the Spam Notification email that is sent to end-users:
1. Can we edit the email address that sends the Quarantine notification email? Or must the email come from [email protected]?
2. Can we customise the Quarantine email that is sent to the End-user (with our company logo)?
From my experience and understanding, I believe the answer for both is NO, but my customer is adamant that editing the email address and customising the email content is possible.. Please advise.

Convert the spool to xls format and email through attachment to the user

When I execute a report in background, I get spool. I need to convert the spool to xls format and email through attachment to the user.The xls file should not be saved on local system.
If I use the Spool Recepient tab in SM37 it mails the spool list as .txt file to the mail receipient. But I need to send it as an .xls file.

yes, just make sure you turn off auto-sync to keep everything organized before you try syncing
on a pc
edit > preferences > devices - 'prevent ipads, iphones, and ipods from syncing automatically' needs to be checked

I have an issue on a live SP2013 farm that is really causing me grief. Although I ( Farm Admin) and my other users can follow items which are subsequently confirmed in our respective News Feeds -
none of my users are are actually getting emails notifications .
Alerts ( did) work fine.
I have written some PS to vew and set the SPS-EmailOptin for each user

For my currrent client I set up a development intranet which had the seperate web apps for the main portal and mysites. Test users were able to follow documents, sites without any problems. Before go live I was asked to accomodate a requirement
where there is only one web application (don't ask!) effectivley http://myintranet
so mysites sits under http://myintranet/mysites . I made the appropriate changes to my AutoSPInstaller scritpt and al appearedd l good : services , Service appplications, mysites are all started. I am using
the two app pool accounts one for the portal and one for mysites.
A quick look at the the releated threads on this forum indicated permssions could be DB permissions related tho I am not seeing anything in ULS to strongly point to this

Retrieving User groups and email for all users in a group

Hi Everyone,
I need to create an ADF application to retrieve all the groups in OID, the user would select a group and it should list down all the email addresses in that group.
Can you suggest what is the best way to achieve this. My main concern is how to retrieve groups and email addresses from OID. I was unable to find APIs for it.

In a multi-user environment, a user install a dreamweaver extension,but just the user who install the extension can use it.
Is there a way that administrator install the extension and make this extension available for other users in multi-user environment(e.g. the Windows 7)
Dreamweaver had this capability many releases ago, but it has been dropped, so it's no longer available.
