User settings changed automatically

Hello,
I have one user who had his desktop wallpaper changed back to the HP default and all his icons disappeared. I suspect it is a corrupt profile. I am unable to install Symantec Endpoint or run Trend Micro Housecall, however, I am able to run Bitdefender
that is already on the PC. BD is still running with no infections yet. Is there anything else I should check before creating a new user and importing his old profile?
It, to me, sounds like a virus / malware infection that corrupted his profile. Have you checked the Windows Installer service to see If it is running? When you try to install Endpoint Protection, what error message are you getting?
Did the system create a new profile for this user such as Username001,Username002?
In any case of viral infection, I always recommend backing up the system and reimaging / reinstalling the OS. The only reason why you wouldn't do that is if the user doesn't have all the disks to their software.
You'll spend more time trying to reverse engineer a broken system than just getting it running again.

I have 5 users.
And to that 5 users , User Defined Fields Settings have been applied.
That user defined fields are having categories.
UDF settings are applied according to Category.
But every now and then that user defined fields settings are changing automatically.
Means some times the field appears & some times not.
How to overcome this situation.

Change field on form User and change automatic on form AD

Hello Guys,
I need change a field on form AD (user atributtes) and when this field is changed, it should change a field on AD form.
I know that need create a task in Process Taks, using a Copy Value to transfer this values, but this transfer does not occur. What can to be?

there is no case of auto removal of lookp entries. I am sure some how it is deleted either by Design console or imported Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGER with old values. Don't worry It won't be deleted automatically.

Wifi settings change automatically as I move networks?

On my MBP I have to manually change the proxy server settings as I move networks. At home I have no proxy on my Airport, at work I have to connect through the proxy. I'm told the MPB should remember the settings for each network automatically and change them as needed, but this is not the case. As such I have to go into the advanced network settings every time I change networks (twice a day) and make the modification manually. Quite a pain.
Anyone have an idea as to why this might be happening and what I can do about it?

Help...Iphone 5c settings changed by themselves

I have an iPhone5c and today my settings changed automatically by themselves and when I have attempted to change them back they will not stick.
Specifically my battery percentage has disappeared and my message settings have changed as well. I had my settings to where there would be no message preview but now there is a preview and I am unable to change them back when I select those options. I change the setting back to how it was but then it reverts to how it automatically changed.
Can someone please assist me with how to fix this!? Aside from paying $30 or making an appointment, I was advised this was my only option.

Your profile says you are using IOS 8.0.2?
You can update to the latest IOS 8.1.1.
As for settings not sticking:
Check if you have Restrictions set for those items.
Note: you need to enable Restriction to change/see what is set.

Reading Panes views on Shared Mailbox changes automatically issue

Can someone please advise if this is a known bug or if it's just because it is the way the software is configured?
Our email account are hosted by Microsoft on Office365.
Email accounts are added as an account on Outlook2010.
When accessing shared mailboxes, the reading pane view settings changes automatically from time to time from "Date to Category".
I noticed that others have raised a query on this previously but never got a properly answer.
NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST TURNING OFF READING PANE AS THAT IS A STUPID IDEA FOR THOSE WHO SUGGESTS IT. We all know you can turn it off as an option but if people wants to use it, you don't just tell them not to use it as a workaround.
You wouldn't tell someone to go catch a bus if their car is broken temporary. You fix the car so that you can use it later.

The client has users who they'd like to have full control of their client PCs Windows Automatic Updates. The users would like to go into Control Panel and check updates at will, set times for auto updates to their liking. I haven't found the appropriate
GPO setting to allow users to change update settings.
Is that possible? Will creating an OU without a linked GPO and blocking inheritance provide the answer?

It will likely depend upon how the implementation is currently setup (there could be various things in place, in a customised fashion).
Basically, when using GPO to deploy WUAgent settings for WSUS, the user interface for WU is disabled for the end-user - this is how classic domain GP works, and is intended to work. (i.e. if the domain admin deploys a setting, end-users are unable to change
that)
You may be able to easily identify the relevant domain GPO that is delivering this setting, but you would (presumably) want to only change the single setting relating to AUOptions, and leave the other settings as they currently are (i.e. continue to use
WSUS to serve the update approvals and update files/patches.
Creating a new OU and not linking/inheriting, may cause other unintended effects/complexity.
(it might be the only way to achieve your goal, but analysing which GPOs are carrying which settings, and then which GPOs you *do* need to be linked/inherited, will be an important step)

Is there a way to prevent users from changing the Advanced, Connection, Settings Tab?

I need to stop network users from changing the proxy settings to avoid the firewall. Is there any way to disable or prevent them from getting to the advanced, connections tab, and changing the settings for the proxy?

You can lock the corresponding prefs, then users won't be able to change the settings.

How to restrict non root users from changing proxy settings Ubuntu 12.04?

I have two Ubuntu 12.04 Desktops with Ncomputing vSpace software configured for remote terminal users of Ncomputing L300 thin clients. Both these desktops have Squid configured and connected to internet. So in a way users logging in to these machines can directly access internet without squid. Now users can remove the proxy and have unrestricted access anytime. Which is the reason I want to enforce proxy on users settings which they cannot change. I am fine if the settings makes it mandatory for root or sudo user of Ubuntu. Is this possible ?

This is a known issue with the iPhone 5. Turn off the automatic time setting for the time being. It will most likely be corrected in an upcoming update to iOS if the tech press is to be believed.

When they save it --> Gets an error - error in role assignment .

    Run BAPI transaction and search for USER in the alphabetical order list of BAPI's, there you will find BAPI's related to User Creation, Change, etc.

Using ARD to change user settings

I was wondering if it was possible to use ARD to change the desktop background for all users? This kinda turns into two questions for me since I know nothing about Macs. First, is there an "all users" settings type thing at all, if so where? Second, is there some sort of config file that would store the location of the desktop background so I could eventually copy a new background to a location and change that file to point to the new file, thus upgrading the desktop background?
