Hi,
I think you can use the structure ITCPO when working with Scripts or Smartforms.
Try to send the values to this and pass to the FM of rescptive ones.
Reward if helpful.

  • OIDH - User specific print control

    Hi Experts,
In OIDH, we used to maintain user specific print control for the combination of Planning Plant & Planner Group.
There following same entry was maintained in 2 different ECC instances(Testing & Quality)
    User - No entry(blank)
    Planning Plant - *
    Planner group - *
    Shop paper - No entry(blank)
    Output device - LOCL
    New Spool Request - enabled
    Print Immediately - enabled
    Delete after output - enabled
In Testing environment, For a released work order, when i select Order-> Print -> Order, a pop up appears showing the entries of Shop papers.
In Quality environment, For a released work order, when i select Order-> Print -> Order, a pop up appears mentioning "No user-specific shop papers are defined".
Could you Pls let me know what could be the reason for the same User specific setting, Testing & Quality instances are behaving in a different way.
I hope the Quality system displays the right output message for the above Config setting.
    Regards,
    Karthik Bhaskaran

Please make changes in the following fields
    User - No entry(blank)  Instead of blank  " * "
    Shop paper - No entry(blank) Instead of blank  " * "
Create the transport and move it to Quality and test it.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • How can I/Is it possible to silently print a PDF with specific print settings and obtaining the resulting job id (in windows at least)?

    Greetings,
I have a specific application for Windows I'm developing where I need to silently print a PDF to a real printer.  The trick is I need to set specific printing preferences ... such as color/monochrome, # of copies, page size / source tray, etc.   The printer is always set to spool documents, and it is key that I know the job id (even if its already done printing) of the resulting print job.
With windows APIs mixed in, I would imagine something like ...
    OpenPrinter(printername)
    StartDocPrinter(...)
-----> some SDK call to print the document based on the handles I pass it...or perhaps one page at a time after I call StartPagePrinter()
    EndDocPrinter(...)
    ClosePrinter()
I've been searching for something for days that would give me this sort of control, but I've been finding the documentation very difficult to find on silently printing a PDF through any means other than a command line which doesn't appear to give me the information or control I need.
Is this possible with the Adobe SDK?
I've seen other posts accomplish this by changing the printing defaults for the printer, and then sending the job silently with a commandline.  This has two problems for me: 1) I still don't know the Job ID of the print job, and 2) I can't rely on the idea that other unrelated print jobs will not be sent while I'm processing the PDF ... making it difficult to use defaults as a means of controlling the settings without causing a lot of side effects.
Even just a point in the right direction would be a huge help for how I could accomplish this.
    Thanks a lot,
    Wayne

  • Defining User specific printer

    Hi,
Our client uses barcode printing in process orders.  Process orders are printed automatically upon order release and also using COPI they reprint the process order.
Now all the users (* - generic) in the Plant'A' uses Printer 'A'(Output Device) which is configured in spool parameters for users in CB85(config).
    Issues:
    1. If a user defines Printer'B' as Output device in SU3, the process order still prints in Printer'A'.  WHY?
    2. The other issue is a some users of Plant'A' moves to a new building, so they want to use Printer'B' instead of Printer'A'.
Since it is configuration, should I maintain Printer'B' as output device in CB85 for each user.
    3. I am facing difficulty in maintaining output device for each user in Development system because the user doesnot exist in Development client, the user exists only in Production client.
Please advice whether it is required to create users in DEV & move the changes to production client or is it advisable to maintain the changes directly in production system after opening the system for configuration OR is there any other options available.
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    UK

    Hi Prasbobh,
    Thanks for your valuable response.
I changed the value from "02" to "01" of Output device in Printer specification.   Now it is taking the the printer which I specify in user profile (SU3), ignoring the printer specified in CB85.  It is fine now.
But it is not taking the value of "$" for output device in spool parameter for user, it is throwing an error "entry $ doesn't exist".  So I have not changed the value of output device.
Even though it is working fine now just want to check maintaining "01" in printer specification is sufficient.
    Thanks & Regards,
    UK

  • Application-specific print settings

I use my iMac in my retail business for Point of Sale. I run credit cards through a browser-based processor, and I use Safari for that. I also use the iMac for everything else you need to do running a business, and so I've got three printers hooked up: a receipt printer, a label printer for price tags, and a laser printer.
Right now I have to change the paper size every time I print a credit card receipt from Safari (30-50 times per 8-hour day). It's not an option to set the label printer AND its paper size in the global print defaults (that is, when I set the default printer in System Preferences, it doesn't give me the paper size option, 72mm x 180mm. I only get that option in the application print dialog.)
My other problem is that having the default printer set as the label printer (since it gets used most consistently through the day) is that anytime I want to print anything else, I've got to change printers. And that's not infrequent, because I print 10-20 class schedules per day on the laser printer.
Is there any way to specify a print default that is application-specific? That is, anytime I click "print" in Safari, I get the label printer automatically, but anytime I click "print" in Preview, I get the Laser printer automatically? I'm flummoxed.
I've been looking at writing a script in AppleScript, is that the way to go? I tried making a workflow in Automator this morning, but it was slow and cumbersome, and no different than doing the clicking myself.
Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

    Hi Ewa,
You could change owner firstly as below steps:
    1. Open the registry editor to the following key - HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97}.
    2. Change the permissions on the key itself by right-clicking on the {316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97} key, and selecting "permissions".
    3. This will open up a permissions dialog box. Click the "Advanced" button.
    4. The key is owned by trustedinstaller. This needs to change before we continue, so click the "Change" link.
    5. Assuming the account you're using is part of the Administrators group, just type in "Administrators" in the box and click the "OK" button.
    6. Click the "Apply" button, then click the "OK" buttons until the permissions dialog window closes.
    7. You will need to right-click the registry key again (from step 2) and select "Permissions" again from the list.
    8. With "Administrators" highlighted, click to place a check into the "Full Control"/"Allow" box.
    9. Click the "Apply" button, then click "OK" again until the permissions dialog window closes.
After done, run dcomcnfg as Administrator, you would see as below, continue the steps in the previous reply we discussed.

  • Anyone know where user-specific print parameters are stored?

and is it possible to change parameters (such as Time of Print = Immediate) for other users?
    I'm using R/3 4.7 Enterprise.

    Interesting, thanks.
But how about other parameters, such as Storage Mode, New spool Request, Do Not Append Print Jobs, etc.  Any idea where those are stored?

  • Any way to override default printer settings into a PDF

Hi -- I work for a large organization that has lots of computers and printers and prints a lot of forms and documents.  We are moving towards more digitization of documents and records including printing forms as needed as opposed to having large sets of forms onhand.  This should save us a lot of time and money once complete as these forms often change and the old process would be to then trash much of these documents and re-print for just one change.  The majority of our printers do have letter & legal trays as well as duplex support, however due to the vast number of users the default printer settings tied to each user and/or computer may be slightly different.  While standardizing all the printer settings across all users/computers would be one solution, we don't anticipate doing this as depending on the job peformed the different settings may be more preferable / advantageous for that user.
As such the other solution I can think of is to hardcode the specific printer settings needed to correctly print a large document into that PDF file which may differ from that computer's print settings.  For example, the default computer print settings may be to print on just 1 side but duplex would be encoded / scripted directly into the PDF so IRREGARDLESS of the computer/printer settings this document would always print duplexed.
Is there anyway to do this?  I would need to do more than just duplexing -- ie some form sets would need to be both duplexed and 'fit to printable area' whereas some would need to be only on one page and 'shrunk to printable area', etc, etc.  Our current practice is to insert a 1 page coversheet at the front of each document with the printer settings that need to be used for that form set, however this has been difficult for some users to do and has caused unnecessary time with our IT troubleshooting form printing.
    -Brandon

    Hi Brandon,
You can use the Print Presets in Acrobat for that purpose. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Open the PDF in Acrobat
    2. Open Document Properties dialog (using Ctrl + D)
    3. Select the "Advanced" tab
    4. In the "Print dialog Presets" section, you can choose DuplexMode as well as Page Scaling for this document.
Please let us know if this works for you

    Hi Arthur
The information on the user-specific print parameters is provided by the report RSPRIPAR_USER_SHOW (see SAP note 91116).
It shows you the actual settings though you will not be able to change them.

  • Printing PDF from IE9 doesn't honor printer settings

I am trying to print a PDF from IE 9 and have it honor my printer settings (which are to store to my mailbox on our Canon iR3035 rather than print out).  It used to work fine.  I found the following bug listed in the release notes for Adobe Reader 10.1 however it clearly says the fix is to update IE which clearly isn't fixing the problem.  If I disable protected mode then it works but that isn't what we should have to do for this to work.
    Windows 7 Pro 32 and 64 bit
Adobe PDF Reader 10.1.1.33 and 10.1.2.45
    Internet Explorer 8 and 9
"Internet Explorer: With Internet Explorer running in protected mode, the user's printer settings are not honored, and the manufacturer's or deployer's defaults are used. This behavior occurs for IE7/IE8 with Acrobat/Reader 9.x or IE7 with Acrobat/Reader 10.x. The workaround is to disable Internet Explorer protected mode, or upgrade to IE8. [2874948]"
Anyone know of another workaround other than turning protected mode off??
    Thanks!

    Hi Sonal,
Thank you for continuing to try to track this down.  The snapshot you show is exactly what we want the behavior to be however it's not what is happening on our systems here.  I'm not sure what else I can provide to try to help reproduce the problem however it is the same on multiple systems.  Here is some more info (I apologize in advance for the number of snapshots but I hope they will lend useful info!).  Please let me know what else I can provide that would help!  These snapshots are from my system which is 64-bit (32-bit systems exhibit the same symptoms).

  • How can I get Acrobat to save my recent print settings?

    Hi there,
    Setup:
    Mac OSX 10.7.3
    Acrobat X 10.1.2
Having recently upgraded to the most recent Acrobat pro I seem unable to save my most recent print settings. Previosuly, when I setup a page to be, for example, A2 landscape with some specific printer settings, it would then present these same settings when I went to print the same document or another open document. Now, in 10, I can setup the page settings and print settings, print a document, and then when I try and print again it has defaulted to the default page setup (A4 portrait) and default print settings.
This is SO infuriating that I am hoping it is a bug (fixable?) and not just a massive failure of the software.
    Thanks for any advice/help.

I'm not sure (since I always print to the same size), but try this:
Click the Page Setup button at the bottom of the dialog. Ignore the warning screen. Set up the Page Setup in Mac OS X the way you like. At the top, choose Settings and select Save as Default. Then click OK.
Click the Printer button at the bottom of the dialog. Ignore the warning screen. Set up the Print settings in the way you like using the popup menu which initially shows Layout. Then choose Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset. Then click OK.

  • User Specific catalog UI configuration - Custom catalog user role

    Hi all,
We need different user specific layout settings for each user. i have duplicated catalog user role for each user and maintained specific named search for that particular user in constraint. but when we want to configure specific layout for individual user. its not showing that catalog user in the catalog config UI for the layout configuration. please advice. if it shows that specific user then we would configure each specific user layout with individual look and feel ( like shopping lists, search fields, images, etc., ). thanks for your inputs.
Your help would be highly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Smartsoft General user,
I guess you are on SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0
We have the same business scenario as yours. Its working perfectly for us.
    1. Donot copy Catalog User role. SRM-MDM UI Config only accepts users assigned under std Catalog User role. You dont need mutiple copies of Catalog user role, anyways it wont work.
    2. Create multiple webservices for each Named search. Provide one User (like User1, User2...or your own created ones) and one Named Search as following parameters in each webservice.
              http://<your server:port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
    username     User<n>
    password     <password>
    server     <your server>
repositoryType     M ( for Master ) S (for Slave)  - Make sure you are pointing to right repo if you have master/slave
catalog     <provide Repository name- make sure you are giving right repository name, I provided it wrong first time>
    port     <your port>
    uilanguage     SY-LANGU
    datalanguage     SY-LANGU
mask     < keep blank if you want dynamic search>
namedsearch     <Provide exact Named search name as you provided in Data Manager>
    HOOK_URL
    returntarget     _parent
If you are creating 5 different Named searches, create 5 different webservice definitions as above.
    3. Now for each Catalog user, you can perform separate search UI layout as you wish.
Let me know if this helps or have any questions. If this worked for me, we will make it work for you.
