Username and password request every 2-3 minutes wh...

Hello.
I am a BT broadband customer and recently I learnt that I have free access to BTFon or BT Openzone when I am away from home. That is really useful to me as I spent some days away from home due to work. Unfortunately I am usually in remote areas where BTFon and BT openzone signals can be weak and thus using the internet gets very problematic, especially with my computer not keeping my BTbroadband username and password. Is there a way to solve this? Why do I need to re-enter my details everytime the connection fails? I am using a MAC laptop. Thank you in advance for your help and advice.

3
Click on a password listing and push the 'Remove' button in order to delete the password from Safari's memory.
4
Choose 'Remove All' in order to delete all of the saved passwords.
5
Manage your passwords as you see fit.
I'm guessing it is Safari you are using.

  • Username and Password request everytime iTunes starts

Since I installed the latest version of iTunes every time I start it it asks me for the username/password to look any purchased content for download. It's kind of annoying to have to enter this info every time. Any ideas?

  • I'm being asked for a password with the following statement: The proxy moz-proxy://192.168.30.5:800 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://192.168.30.5:800"

Here's an example of what happens when I cancel the username and password request:
    ERROR: Cache Access Denied
Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request:
    http://cben.net/?
from this cache because your username and password are incorrect or your user group does not have permission to web browse. Please check your username and password. They are case sensitive so make sure Caps Lock is not on.
This happens 100% of the time.

I have the same problem. It ask for all elements that proxt detects ("NetworkError: 407 Proxy Authentication Required").
Solution "No proxy" not works because i aslo require internet.
I have version 10.0.2 on windwos XP, and this happens to me since I update it. On chrome and ie works without prompt.
I upload and example, this page calls facebooks elements (i can't acces facebook) and others, for each element prompt proxy is shown.

  • Cfmx, mysql cfquery username and password attributes

    Hi,
I've just started working with mysql.
As per my hosting service company, I have to put in the
mysql username and password in every cfquery ie .. <cfquery
    name="aaa" datasource="bbb" username="ccc" password="ddd">
Is there anyway I can put something in my Application.cfm so
I can avoid doing the above and simply continue with <cfquery
name="aaa" datasource="bbb">. I have a site based on ms access
database which I am changing over to mysql. Putting in the username
and password in each cfquery will take a long time and I am
wondering if someone else ever had this problem and if there's an
    efficient solution.
    Thx in advance

If i set the application varaibles won't I still have to put
    them in each cfquery.
    Application.cfm
    <cfset Request.MainDSN= "bbb">
    <cfset Request.Un= "ccc">
    <cfset Request.Pw = "ddd">
    and then a page say .. index.cfm
    <cfquery name="aaa" datasource="bbb" username="ccc"
    password="ddd">
So I'll still have to put in the username and password with
each cfquery. Its just that later on if the username or password is
changed, I can simply make a two line change in the
    Application.cfm.
Am I correct in assuming that I have to put in the username
and password in each cfquery tag for the entire site.
Thx for your prompt responses Dan. I appreciate that you take
    time to help others.

  • Annoyed by OTN username and password prompting

Sorry it's really starting to annoy me that I always have to enter my OTN username and password between every browser session. Why can it not use a cockie or whatever to keep me logged in at least for the day. Or better, let me save the password in my keychain so that I only have to press the "Sign In" button when the login appears.
Firefox has a built in "save password" option, which will supply username and password when accessing a particular web page. It works with sites like ebay and many other common sites, but for some reason it does not work with OTN. When accessing OTN it never prompts me if I want Firefox to remember the password. I'm not using private browsing and have no site in the save password exception list.
I found an add-on named "Saved Password Editor". It allows to manually add username and password entries associated with a web site. But since almost any software calls home today I rather not use any 3rd party tool to deal with security sensitive information. I checked the tool and it did not call home, but who knows what happens later.
    Any other ideas?
FWIW: firefox - How does browser know when to prompt user to save password? - Stack Overflow
Maybe the problem is simply because the login uses "ossusername" instead of "username" in the login form.

So what is the message? I have no particular objection to any solution that fixes the issue, beside installing 3rd party browser extensions.
How about the following? Checking https://login.oracle.com/mysso/signon.jsp on http://web-sniffer.net  shows:
    Set-Cookie:    ORA_UCM_VER=; domain=.oracle.com; expires=Thu, 01-Jan-1970 01:00:00 GMT; path=/
Unfortunately I cannot set my system date prior to 1970 to see what happens, but would the cookie allow me to login without the need to specify my username and password again until the cookie expires? Would that be a feasible option instead of enabling form autocomplete?
Speaking of which, the OTN forum defines "Cache-Control: private, no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate". This setting disables browser caching. I found the browser's back button very useful in the past to be able to get back the content of the forum editor, for instance, when some error occurred submitting the response or when I accidentally opened another web page. This used to work in the previous forum.
The editor's new recovery function so far has been rather confusing or completely useless for me. It does not help after being logged out without notice. It actually just happened and I received an "unexpected error" while posting this response, loosing all text. (Un)fortunately I'm used to either copy and paste the content before submitting or use my own text editor. But cutting and pasting has become a different story now after the forum upgrade with the buggy editor.
Meanwhile I understand that OTN cannot fix the problems with the forum software, but perhaps the login could be improved.

  • In some pages I keep receiving this message: "The proxy moz-proxy://172.20.5.250:8080 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://172.20.5.250:8080"".

In my company, I used FF for sometime now.
I had some problem in the beginning, but using the proxy IP and Domain\Username + Password I was able to navigate.
Ever since I tried FF4.x and FF5.x... I started to receive the following message:
The proxy moz-proxy://172.20.5.250:8080 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://172.20.5.250:8080"
Even after inserting the Domain\Username and the Password I keep receiving the same error. In FF3.xx I was able to use the proxy.
Don't know what to do any more there are several pages that have this problem.

    http://daxspeculator.blogspot.com/
    Some... don't have any problem:
    http://batracer.com
    http://www.youtube.com
Even when I try to see the extensions I get this error. This is so weird!!!
For now... I have switched to Chrome, every new version of FF that is released I try it to see if the problem is gone. But, with no luck until now! :(

I did have this problem with proxy moz-proxy prompt for username and password. In my case it was for websites hosted not on the internet but on the local corporate intranet. I solved my problem by doing the following action:
Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Settings: add the local website to the "No Proxy For:" field.
I hope this will help some of you out there that have manually configured their proxy settings. Also a tip if you need to turn on and off proxy settings I recommend using "Quick Proxy" add-on.

  • Proxy Server asking for username and password almost 6 times for every page I load, but the same doesn't happen with other browsers like chrome

The same question keeps popping up again and again "The proxy moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128""
Even after i give the right details, it asks me like 5 more times before it completely loads the page. Some times it happens only 2 times.
With other browsers like chrome, it asks only in the beginning. it doesn't occur after that.
This started occurring only recently. i upgraded to firefox 9.0 and it functioned properly for more than 12 hours before it started occuring. i tried downgrading back to 8.0.1 but the problem still continued.

i'm afraid i need to use proxy settings to connect to internet. The settings are all fine because it used to work properly all this time. i specify the proxy address and the port, which is correct, i am very confident. it is so because the page actually loads on firefox, but not before it asks for my user name and password for it a lot of times, and for every page. for other browsers, it asks only in the beginning, that is, when i start the browser.
i've put three pics here. under the first two settings, the third image showing the user name and password thingy popping up. this happens a lot of times for every page.

  • How do i change proxy settings so it doesnt keep asking me "authentication req. The proxy web2.ucsd.edu is requesting a username and password. The site says: ucsd Squid Proxy-cache"?

I changed my proxy setting to access a restricted school website. I don't know how to change it back to normal settings! Every time i'm browsing internet, Authentication Required windows pop up like 4-7 times a day! randomly! it says "the proxy web2.ucsd.edu:3128 is requesting a username and password. The site says: UCSD Squid proxy-cache". and makes me put in username and password every time. sooo annoying. how do i make the setting go back to default??

    1. Open firefox
    2. Go to "Tools" tab
    3. Go to "Options"
    4. Click on "Advanced"
    5. Open "Network" tab
    6. Click on "Settings"
    7. Select "No Proxy"
    8. Click "OK"

  • Requests username and password to something

There is a huge problem all of a sudden, and it occurs on almost every website I go on, as far as I know it's on wesbites where you are have the option to log in. I'm not sure. I get a Safari popup message :
*To view this page, you need to log in to area "jnb-opteqcache04.iburst.co.za Cache Authentication" on images.intellitxt.com:80. Your password will be sent in the clear.*
After that there are the fields for the username and password. I have no idea what made this happen, I was normally browsing on last.fm and this appeared. This is on Safari 3.2.2 but I tried the 4.0 beta and it happened there too. If I press Cancel it appears again and again and again. I don't want to enter any passwords before I know what this problem is, and where will the info go and for what do I need to enter it for? I've Googled the problem, and it appears it only happens in Safari but can't find much about it.

The problem has been cleared up, no idea how but its all been working smooth for a few months now.

  • Lpadmin - request for username and password - not responding correctly

Recently updated to a new computer and 10.5.7.
A printer was paused (somehow). Tried to resume printing and got a request for an lpadmin administrator user name and password. Mine is the only account on this computer. Put in my user name and password, but this was rejected. If I tried 3 times I was told to try later (and given my password hint). However, after clicking OK to this dialogue the action WAS taken.
Same thing happened when I tried to add a printer. It will not accept my username and password, but if I persist until I get the message to try again later, the printer WAS added.
So, I am back to having a printer, but this seems like a bug.
