Did any body try to change 10g SSO login page to custom login page?
Hi..
Did any body try to change Oracle 10g SSO login page with custom login Page as we used to do in 902 and 1022 versions by changing wwsso_ls_configuration_info_t table entries?
It seems that there is now other file policy.properties that has entry for login page.
Is there any documentation provided by Oracle on this?
I checked metalink and SSO admin guide?
Any clue or glue....??
Thanks
SarveshTry 1 & 2 if does not work please file a daycare for further assistance.
1. In "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler" for path info add an empty row then verify.
2. Delete the existing entry for "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler" , Configure your custom at repository level & verify -

Issue in redirecting to portal page from SSO login page
HI facing issue while redirecting to portal application from SSO login page.please find below basic details
the application comprises of TAM / Apache / Weblogic, and all the request goes in the same order.
When the application is deployed as portlet, the jsp page some how hard codes the apache host name, that in turn blocks any form submit or Ajax action.
so on successful login the redirection is not happening to required portal page as it includes apache host name in the url consrtucted.
Please suggest me what are the configurations that I need to verify .
Thanks in Advance
Jetti.If you upgrade to v7.1 you will have all those features and more - PLUS a lot of defective pieces have been fixed in 7.1

Home page opening with Login page
Hi,
Today we are facing a peculiar case, when we login to Unifier application. On successful login, the home is displayed with login page again. Please let me know hw to resolve this.
Regards,
DeepakTry ditching Dreamweaver and switching to Notepad ++, less bugs, less control from big brother, more nimble, less crashes ... simply better than this pile of junk.
Ok - put your style sheet in a separate file and link it.
If you're going to use styles then don't use attributes if you can get away with it. (Have a look at CSS Zen garden - such a great site. May be a little complicated for a beginner, but it gives you something to aim for.)
Ditch the table format - it makes everything far, far more complicated; try using DIVs instead.
NEVER nest tables if you can at all avoid it. Usually you can - it's just a case of looking at column and row spans.
NEVER use something like DreamWeaver in design mode - it's a huge waste of time.
Try starting with something more basic and build it up a step at a time. Test every change stage by stage - if you're painting a picture you never paint the whole thing then take a step back and look, you always paint a piece, step back and look, paint another piece etc...
Most importantly - research which setting (relating to tags, CSS and attributes) actually performs what operation, and which affects which browser. The classic example of this is the Internet Explorer 6.0 box model problem.
But most importantly, ditch DreamWeaver. Hell! VI is better! -
Change the home page to a login page
Hey,
I've set up web services so that they can be accessed from the open internet, however the home page is set to the standard OSX Server page (eg with details for the different services offered by the server). Is there any way to set this as a login page so users have to login before they get anything at all?
That is, I want users to login before they get anything from the server, rather than seeing a little then having to log in for more.
Thanks!Set up a realm for your entire webserver/documents directory or for your index page.

Problem closing Skillbuilders modal page when using Login page 101
Trying to setup website with the Login page opening in a modal window instead of normal Apex window.
Have a Global Page (0) which has a Login button defined - that has a dynamic action defined on it
Login Clicked
True
SkillBuilders Modal Page(2.0.0) [Plug-in]
Fire When Event Result is True
Dialog Title: Login
URL Location: Statically Defined
Static URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:101:&APP_SESSION.:::1:::
Auto-close On Element Selector: div#success-message
Created a branch page 102 called Close Modal
Have tried putting the following javascripts into Page 102 and also without - but cannot get the modal window to close out.
Dynamic Action on page 102 Close Modal Window - Event is On Page Load. No condition set
Execute Javascript Code
Fire When Event Result is True
Fire On Page Load - checked
Code:
javascript:parent.$(parent.document).apex_modal_page('close');
Any ideas which might help ?
Thanks - JonathanI can't say. I have not successfully tried this in any version of Apex (until just now).
Ignore my suggestions regarding page 0 from earlier.
If the user is on a page in your application and they have an invalid session, when they get that valid session in the login page how are you going to pass along that information to the parent/calling page? This just doesn't seem to be only about the authentication scheme.
A simple test I set up right now has me at page 1. I click a button and I get the login page modal. I login and the modal window displays a logged in version of page 1. But if I manually close that modal window and then refresh page 1 in the main parent window, I am still not logged in. A little further digging and I see it is in part due to the URL and the session id within.
If my URL is http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/apex/f?p=18025:1 then this refresh will not work.
If my URL is http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/apex/f?p=18025:1:123456 and 123456 is not a valid session then this refresh will not work.
You'd need to follow Jorge's suggestion to use some javascript like top.location.href="&FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL." to set the parent window to use the correct url containing the session id.
You would have to control when that code is placed on a page. I have a working example now at the above URL that uses a dynamic action on page 0.
Event = Page Load
Condition = Page != 101
Action = Execute Javascript Code
JS Code =
if (window.location != window.parent.location)
parent.location.href="&FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL."
So if I am loading page 101 do nothing. If I am loading another page, check if the parent and iframe are different source locations (indicating this is an iframe because even a non-iframe window will have a value for parent.location) and if so then set the parent page location to that of the iframe. In effect the redirect that happens in the modal is transferred to the parent.
This will break any other modal page instances you use though. But you could add them to the condition of the dynamic action on page 0 so you have something like "page not in 101, 1020, etc."
It seems to work but it feels like a hack to me. Perhaps a specific template for the modal window with some version of this javascript would at least keep you from running this script on every page load.

Help with implementing a login page - ADF Faces & 10.1.3
I am having trouble getting a basic login page working and am hoping someone can help. I'd like to have a login page with username and password fields and a submit button. When submitted, I would like to authenticate the user and either send them to a second page if I find the username & password, or return them to the login page and display a global JSF message if I can't find the username/password info. Pretty standard stuff.
I've got an app module that contains a read-only view object, which has a custom method (in MyViewImpl.java) that checks the username & password against a database table and returns a boolean. I don't have an entity object since it's a read-only view.
I've tried 2 different approaches:
1) Binding the username and pw inputText fields to the parameters of my custom method, and binding the submit button to the custom method, all done by drag and drop from my data controls.
The problem with this approach is that I cannot figure out how to set the global message if the username/password combo is invalid. Once my method is invoked, it returns an "action" String and page navigation occurs (In this case, I have my custom method return a String instead of a boolean). If login fails, at what point do I set the global message?
2) Using a backing bean for my login page and binding the fields and the button to the bean, and setting the button's action to a method in the bean, which then calls my custom method. Finally, either set the message or navigate based on the boolean returned from my method.
This seems the better approach, since it keeps the navigation and error message in the ViewController. The problem here is that I can't figure out how to call my custom method from my backing bean. I've seen a few examples, including one using a managed property and calling the action binding's invoke() method, but haven't had any luck (see #51 on this page: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html). The invoke() method does not return a value, so I cannot get the boolean value I need.
So, I'm apparently missing a piece (or two or three) of the puzzle here. Any guidance is most welcome! And I'm fine with changing any piece of this puzzle if there's a better way of accomplishing this.
Thanks,
AndyFrank,
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if container managed authentication is a good fit or not for my current application, so I will have to look into the details of how it works. Thanks for the suggestion. Whether I use it or not, I will still need to authenticate against a database and not a flat file due to the fact that users may come and go and change passwords frequently, and my application will not be handling the management of that.
So, I would be still left with the task of accessing the ViewObject and navigating/displaying a message based on the results of that lookup. Fortunately, after slogging through my code and consulting the ADF documentation that is scattered throughout the Oracle website, I was able to get the login page working as I wanted (I found the "Accessing Bindings and Binding Containers from JSF Backing Beans" section of http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/1013eabinding/index.html to be especially helpful). I used the submit button's action to call a method in the backing bean that sent the username and password to my application module's custom authentication method. When I got the boolean result, I either returned a "success" action or set a global JSF message and returned "null".
Needless to say, I am looking forward to the ADF/JSF version of the Toystore application, along with some sort of comprehensive framework documentation.
Thanks,

The login page of EM lost just after password changed
hi,
recently, i changed the passwords of SYS, SYSTEM, SYSMAN. when i tried to manage the system through a browser again, i found there is no way to login EM then. I tried to change the passwords back to the previous passwords which created during installation, I wrote 'alter user SYSMAN identified by abc-123' within the sqlplus window and run the statement, but i got a message: 'ORA-00922: missing or invalid option'.
so, how can i change back the password for the system users?
or, what should i do after passwords changed, so that let the login page come back?
thanks!
----guo.This is because you haven't made changes in emoms.properteis file because password used by the oms are located in the
$ORACLE_HOME/sysman/config/emoms.properties files
Any way problem is curable
1 Go to DBHOME/bin ,Issue comamnd
alter user sysman identified by "abc-123",
2 Go to OMSHOME/bin
emctl stop oms
3 change the repository password by using comamnd setpasswd oms ,
4 Start the oms and try to login again
This is not supported way of changing the passsword , You should use the configuration ui to change the password for the Management Services and Repository target. That is the correct, supported way of setting the password for that target. -
Hi all,
Good day,I need your help.
I am really new to APEX.
I would like to have a user table name 'tbl_user' with 2 columns (user_id, password).
Some dummy data were created, and I do some PL/SQL coding inside the default login page of a newly created application (page 101).
======================================================================
DECLARE
v_USERID tbl_USER.USER_ID%TYPE;
v_PASSWORD tbl_USER.PASSWORD%TYPE;
BEGIN
select tbl_USER.PASSWORD into v_PASSWORD from tbl_USER where USER_ID_ID= :P101_USERNAME;
if v_PASSWORD=:P101_PASSWORD then
OWA_UTIL.redirect_url ('f?p='||:APP_ID||':2:'||:SESSION);
end if;
======================================================================
Although I key in the correct username and password, the page 101 still prompting me invalid credential.
Please kindly advice.
p/s: How can we create a new user registration page instead?
Regards,
Golden
Edited by: golden on Nov 20, 2009 7:06 AMHi Sam,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
Your understanding is right. When I use the those user I created using 'sys' account, the application is able to login.
As from your explanation, how can we control the login page by referring to the "tbl_user" which is created by ourselves?
The process is just works like a normal login page:
1) This login page can let the end user to register themselves. The data will be stored inside the table "tbl_user"
(user_id and password)
OR
For those registered user, they key in the user id and password, if the password is correct, it will direct them
to certain page.
Hence, the major problem is how can we ensure the typed in login details is referred to our user-defined table instead of the default application authentication?
Thanks for advance. -
Boundary Testing of a Login page ..
I couldn't find a relevant place to start this thread, could a mod please move it to the correct part, thank you.
Hi,
my problem is that i am not sure whether i can boundary test my login page. It consists of a username inputs and password input. i understand that boundary testing can be done on the validation; such as only a username of 10 or less characters can be entered.
I also understand that normal data would be correct username and password and erroneous data would be blank filed(s). The only thing i could think of for boundary testing would be correct username but incorrect password. however, this does not fit into
the definition of boundary data and now i am doubting if i can even carry it out on my system.
any help would be great,
LTIDThis is what i suspected, so does this means i will only be able to do normal (correct password and username) and erroneous (blank fields) on the login page.
Also, like you mentioned i have a register page. I have set textboxes to the maximum amount they can enter e.g. 10 characters for a username, but they have to have at least 1. so would this mean boundary testing would be 1 , 2 , 9 , 10, 11 and somewhere in
between? thanks for your help!
I don't know who you're addressing but if it's to me, then my point is that you need to enforce the rules (like the min/max number of characters, must include at least one upper and one lower case, or whatever else) when the user creates their login information.
For that you can use the .Validating event handler and set it up to enforce your rules there.
When the user logs in though, none of that applies. Your program will then just check that Username/Password combination (which should be instances of a class or structure) exists.
Still lost in code, just at a little higher level. -
Running into Exception while Creating new Login Page for Security
Hi,
I am following ADF Developers Guide to create a new login page ,so that whenever a page is run , first it redirects to Login page first and on Button click it
goes to the Original page which was run.
This is my Login bean code for doLogin()
public String doLogin(){
String un = _username;
byte[] pw = _password.getBytes();
FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest)ctx.getExternalContext().getRequest();
try {
CallbackHandler handler = new URLCallbackHandler(un, pw);
Subject mySubj = weblogic.security.services.Authentication.login(handler);
weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication.runAs(mySubj, request);
ServletAuthentication.generateNewSessionID(request);
//String loginUrl = "/adfAuthentication?success_url=/faces/viewactivityname";
//sendForward(loginUrl);
} catch (FailedLoginException fle) {
FacesMessage msg = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR,"Incorrect Username or Password","An incorrect Username or Password" +" was specified");
ctx.addMessage(null, msg);
setPassword(null);
} catch (LoginException le) {
reportUnexpectedLoginError("LoginException", le);
return null;
Now the Dev guide says that :: "Specifically, without specifying a view activity as the
redirect target, command components, such as the commandButton
component, will always return to the original page after login."
Hence I have commented out the code for the call to sendForward().
As soon as I press the button I am running into an error :: "javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NullPointerException"

a) Created Managed bean class and registered it to adfc.config.xml
b) Created a Custom Login Page say Login.jspx and created a DataBound Page say EmpDetails.jspx
c) Made sure that My Login page is custom Login Page
d) Command Button has the Action Property set to LoginBean.doLogin
e) Configured security and has only one user, no roles and assigned the user to access the page
e) When I run EmpDetails.jspx , I am redirected to Login page as expected but as soon as I press
Login "CommandButton" it throws this error.
Any pointers.
Regards,
Nikhil MisraHi Puthanampatti,
In that ase what would be my sendForward() mthod look like.
Currently as per the Dev guide it is :
private void sendForward(String forwardUrl) {
FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
try {
ctx.getExternalContext().redirect(forwardUrl);
} catch (IOException ie) {
reportUnexpectedLoginError("IOException", ie);
ctx.responseComplete();
I understand tat there would be change in parameters like sendForward(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response,String forwardUrl),
but how would the other parameters work.
Regards,
Nikhil Misra -
I've read some of the related threads concerning "custom login scripts, etc etc". Some of these solutions are really complex. I'm new to portal and need a cut and dry method of modifying the default "Welcome to Oracle Portal" inititial login screen, as well as the login page. I would simply like to modify the look and feel, import my own graphics, etc. To this point, I have seen no easy way to do it. PLEASE HELP!
I modified the existing login page and it worked instantly without restarting the services.
I too wanted to easily modify the default SSO login page to suite my company's look and feel. The easiest and quickest way for me to do that was to put a redirect on the default SSO login page to a login page that I created in Portal (using the built in Portlet Login). My only problem is that now when a user mis-enters their username / pass they do not get an error page but are redirected back to the login page. Also, keep in mind that if you use the redirect method, all applications using the SSO will have this login page. That is not desirable for most companies. -
Unable to reach Workspace Login Page
Hi,
First some background - I am an Apex developer / administrator. I do not have a DBA background. DBAs install the Apex software and I administer the webserver (although my experience with webservers is that which I've picked up using Apex) and develop applications.
We are currently upgrading our DEV, QA and PROD APEX installations from 2.2.1 to 3.1.1 (specifically 3.1.1.00.09).
We are using Oracle HTTP Server from the Oracle 10.1 companion disk.
We completed this for our DEV and QA environments without a problem. We have not done this for our PROD environment yet.
We also installed APEXLIB 1.7 in both DEV and QA. This was working successfully in DEV. We had not tried it yet in QA.
Both 3.1.1 upgraded environments have been running successfully for about 10 days since the upgrade.
However our QA environment (Oracle 10.2.0.3 running on HP-UX B.11.11 ) experienced a problem yesterday - we can no longer access any Apex applications including the Workspace login pages or application login pages.
The error we get in the browser is:
Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
Error ERR-7620 Could not determine workspace for application ().
We experienced a problem with our QA environment before (prior to upgrade) and we needed to flush the shared pool a few months ago as a temporary fix for this as has been noted on this forum. The problem in question was addressed in this forum post: Re: ORA-06502:PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value
However, with the current problem, flushing the shared pool has not solved the issue. It may not be related.
When we access the workspace login page: http://our_url/apex/crmqa/f?p=4550:1, I see nothing in the Apache logs to indicate an error.
The access_log.xxx file in the Apache logs lists this ...

The error_log.xxx file is empty.
I temporarily turned on mod_plsql logging
When I tried to access http://our_url/apex/crmqa/f?p=4550:1

The DAD entries above point to databases on which Apex is version 3.1.1 and we have modified the image prefix on these database to be a value of /i31, using the script reset_image_prefix.sql.
This DAD file also contains DAD entries (not included above) for other database running Apex 2.2.1 which are using the default image prefix value of /i
I can ping the database ip address from the machine on which the OHS webserver is running.
I have installed OHS on my local laptop and have the same problems.
I can however execute a procedure on the database using the same OHS / DAD configuration running something like http://our_url/apex/crmqa/schema_name.test_connection?v_wait=1where the proc test_connection proc sleeps for v_wait seconds before returning a simple html page confirming that it worked.
I can login to the apex_public_user account via my SQL Developer client
At this point I do not know what else to try to resolve this issue. I am about to start trawling through metalink for related issues if I can find anything.
Any assistance is very much appreciated...
Thank you.
AlanI also see this post on Metalink - could it be related?

This document is being delivered to you via Oracle Support's Rapid Visibility (RaV) process, and therefore has not been subject to an independent technical review.
Applies to:
Oracle Application Express (formerly HTML DB) - Version: 2.0.0.0.49
This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
On the Application builder page, when attempting to click details to view the applications, the following error occurs:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value
However, the problem seems to disappear after a while..
Changes
Upgrade of database (from any version to 10.2.0.1 or 10.2.0.2)
Cause
The reason is due to database Bug 4752541 Abstract: APPSST 10G: ORA-6550 AFTER UPGRADE TO 10.2.0.1. However Patch 47552541 is obsoleted and not available via metalink, it was superceded by Patch 5705795.
This bug is fixed in patchset 10.2.0.4 and above. For current and older versions, Patch 5705795 must be applied. If the patch cannot be found for a particular version or O/S , log a service request with Oracle Support to obtain the patch.
This is also documented in the Apex forum page: Re: wwv_flow.accept error lists the following bug as
root cause.
Solution
Interim solution:
Flush the database shared pool when the problem occurs
Permanent solution:
Upgrade database to 10.2.0.4 or above
OR
Download and apply database Patch 5705795. If the version for your database is not available , create a new Service request from metalink under product RDBMS to request for a patch

Custom login page with Policy Agent 2.2 & Access Manager
Hi,
Im trying to set up policy agent 2.2 and Access Manager to use the login page of the application Im trying to secure. Im not sure if this is the correct forum or not so feel free to move this if need be.
Ive been using this link: http://docs.sun.com/source/816-6884-10/chapter3.html#wp25376 but it doesnt seem to make sense.
In my AMAgent.properties file Ive set up
com.sun.identity.agents.config.login.form[0]=/contextRoot/login/login.jsp to my login page and Ive also configured the web.xml for that application to use the login:
<login-config>
<auth-method>FORM</auth-method>
<form-login-config>
<form-login-page>/login/login.jsp</form-login-page>
<form-error-page>/login/login.jsp</form-error-page>
</form-login-config>
</login-config>
When I try and access the login page Im redirected to the default access manager login page. I did notice in the AMProperties.xml file the following line:
com.sun.identity.agents.config.login.url[0] = http://amserverhost:80/amserver/UI/Login
It seems like I should change that to point to my login page but I didnt see any documentation supporting that. When I change that property to point to location of my login page, i get a redirect loop error.
When I remove the com.sun.identity.agents.config.login.form[0] property all together, I just get a resource restricted error.
Now when I configure the com.sun.identity.agents.config.login.form[0] property, set the config.login.url = to my login page AND set the com.sun.identity.agents.config.notenforced.uri[0] property equal to my login page (so the login page is no longer protected) I am able to see the login page
Is unrestricting the login page correct? Im able to access the login.jsp page directly and when I try and access protected resources Im redirected back to the login page so everything seems to be working correctly but Im not sure if this is the correct way.Hi Neeraj,
I still have not been able to resolve that issue. Let me know If you find a solution for the same.
Thanks,
Srinivas
