Username/password displayed in Titile bar

Hi:
I have successfully managened to encrypt the username and password in the "address bar" of the Internet Explorer while report is displayed when destype=HTMLCss. But when destype=PDF, the username and passowrd is displayed in the "TITLE BAR" of the Internet explorer browser, though it is encrypted in the "address bar".
If I choose destype=HTMLCss instead of PDF, such probelm does not arise. But I want my reports to be displayed in PDF!
Can anyone suggest me how do I hide username and password entirely ?
Thanks,
Ashish

Hi Ashish,
The best way to avoid displaying the username/password in the browser is to use the cgicmd.dat file.

  • A1 returning "username/password incorrect" messages on websites

    I can't find other posts with this problem so I hope I don't show my ignorance here, but I can't believe I am the only one...
    I recently purchased an IdeaPad A1-07 running Android 2.3.4. I attempted to update the system right out of the box, but the updater reported that I was up to date, so that should be set (I would think...). I downloaded the Netflix app from the Andriod app store (the A1 did not include it preloaded), and attempted to launch it. It launched fine into the login screen, but when entering the login info, the app returned a incorrect username/password error. I confirmed the info by logging in on through my PC to the Netflix site. I un-installed then re-installed the app with the same result. I then attempted to go to the website through the A1 browser and login there. Same result. Panicking, I attempted to use the A1 browser to login to FaceBook. Same result.
    Here is the strangest part: I attempted to login to the same websites using the browser on my HTC Android Incredible 2 running Android 2.3.4, and was able to login in successfully to both sites.
    Does anyone know what is going on here and how to fix it? This is a real deal breaker for me since I purchased this tablet specifically to use  with sites like Netflix and FaceBook, and I really don't know what else to do other than to try to return it and get a refund. Please help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Success! The GO keyboard app pre loaded by Lenovo wasn't the problem, but the input settings (Auto Capitalization, display suggestions, auto complete, auto space and key correction) were. Display suggestions probably wasn't part of the issue, but its just plain annoying, so I turned that off as well. I suspect that one of the other "auto" features was slipping in a character or space or two behind my back. I turned them all off, and no longer have an issue. I suspect that it was only one of them, but I would have had to run multiple experiments to narrow down the culprit, and I really don't want to bother. None of those things help me more than they hinder me anyway.
    Find the settings under: settings/language & ketboard settings/Go keyboard for Lenovo/input setting. Good luck!

  • I run Dev 6i on Windows 2008 R2 64-bit,the forms are working fine after connection to the database but the reports continue to request for username, password and database connection string every time i try to open a report.

    I receive REP-0501: Unable to connect to specified database. I run developer 6i application on windows 2008 r2. I have applied the nn60.dll and nnb60.dll files to the \BIN directory. The forms are working fine. The reports will only display after the correct user id (username, password and database connection string) is supplied. This is happening to all attempts to open already complied form. Pls, help.

    If you are connecting to an Oracle 11g database, remember that by default the passwords are case sensitive. To disable that, run
    ALTER SYSTEM SET SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON = FALSE;

  • Bookmark a page with username/password in the URL

    I can add username/password for HTTP authentication directly to the URL (e.g. http://user:[email protected]/ ) and this works fine with the browser on Firefox OS 1.3 (on a ZTE Open C). However, when bookmarking that page, the bookmark doesn't include the username/password any more and so I'll have to manually enter the username/password when visiting that site again (after clearing private data) - and unfortunately there is no password manager for Firefox OS yet...
    Another way to add a bookmark appears to be via a small Javascript using the "save-bookmark", however that appears to only give me the option to add the bookmark to the Home Screen (and I am not sure if it will keep the username/password information in the bookmarked URL).
    Is there any other way to add a bookmark to the browser and keep the username/password information in the URL?

    Here is an example:
    http://user1:[email protected]/auth-basic/
    Works fine if you enter that URL in the URL bar. But when bookmarking it, it only gets bookmarked as http://test.webdav.org/auth-basic/ and so you will have to enter username and password again (after clearing cookies and session data) when opening from bookmarks.

  • In iPhoto, when i try to email a photo using "share", I keep getting"username/password" not recognized. It used to work automatically before.

    I cannot email  a photo using iPhoto "share. I keep getting "username/password not recognized". I used to use this function all the time but all of a sudden, I keep getting this message.

    In iPhoto, open Preferences (under iPhoto in the menu bar) and click the "Accounts" tab on top.  Make sure your email account(s) is/are set up there correctly, just as they are in Apple's Mail.  Make sure the password in included.

  • The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination.

    OS: OS X Mavericks
    iPhoto: iPhoto v9.5.1 (902.17)
    I choose a photo, select Share, select Email, enter an email address to send to and click Send - then I get this error: "The email server didn’t recognize your username/password combination."
    In iPhoto preferences I have "Email photos using" set to "iPhoto"; I have an account added for Gmail (outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com; Port: 587; User Name and Password are correct for my gmail account, Use SSL is checked - basically everything is default for when I chose to add a gmail account and I'm positive my user name and password are entered correctly). I do not have 2-step verification enable for my gmail account (I've been searching for a solution online and noticed others mentioned this - this does not apply to my situation).
    Please help! What is going on? I just want to send an email from iPhoto using my gmail account.
    Thanks!

    Thanks again for responding, MrHoffman; my responses to your questions are below in italics:
    Have you tested the Gmail account via Apple Mail.app, and does both sending and receiving work?
    Yes, I have tested the Gmail account via the Apple Mail.app - sending and receiving work just fine.
    Have you confirmed that the Gmail user and password work with the Gmail web interface?
    Yes, I am sure it is the correct username and password; I am able to access the Gmail account via the Gmail web interface.
    Are you aware of and familiar with both sets of credentials present within each account within Mail.app?  In particular, have you gotten to the configuration displays the SMTP server settings?  (Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) > select Edit SMTP Server List > select the SMTP server account > edit the SMTP server settings.)
    I'm not sure what you mean by both sets of credentials, but yes, in the Mail.app I have set the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) to Gmail (and used the Edit SMTP server list... option to set the smtp server to use default ports, use SSL, and use "Password" authentication (again with my correct username and password for the Gmail account). I also have the Account Information in Mail.app set for the incoming mail server (maybe that's what you mean by both). Either way, I believe having these settings for incoming mail server and outgoing mail server are allowing me to send and receive email for this Gmail account through Mail.app.
    I've also had some success by launching Keychain Access.app and finding all passwords associated with the account — specifically and only the Gmail account, in this case — and removing them from your keychain.  This does mean you'll have to re-add those passwords — using Mail.app and no other applications — and see if things start working.
    I just tried this - I launched Keychain Access.app and removed all entries associated with Gmail. I opened Mail.app, re-entered my password info, and sent a test email to another account - this worked. I opened iPhoto.app, re-entered my password via the Preferences, selected a photo, selected share, selected email, entered a to: address and clicked send - this didn't work (same error message as before (The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination).

  • Iphoto email doesn't recognize my username/password combination

    Iphoto 11 cannot send email -- username/password combination not recognized. Genius bar could not solve

    Uusally the solution is to go to the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts and delete the account and re-enter it
    IMHO the better so;ution is to set Apple Mail as the e-mail client in the iPhoto general preferences and quit using iPhoto as the e-mail client and use mail

  • Router No Asking For Username/Password

    Having just upgraded from a WRT54G to a E2500 all I can say is that I'm disappointed with Cisco.
    Having spent a few hours yesterday trying to resolve issues via Live Chat (ID 130105-001270 & 130105-002081) and spending more time today - I'm truly at wits end. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable with computers and networking.
    I'm not sure if anyone from Cisco's Tech staff sees these posts but I don't know where else to "complain" in hopes that the next software/firmware update resolves these problem(s).
    The first is my router's setup screens are totally open when using my desktop. The desktop is hardwired to the router and has the Cisco Connect software installed. I open the Cisco software and go to advanced settings. There I'm shown what my router's name is and its password. This is really strange - why would you wish to display this information PRIOR to requesting usename and password? However, once there you can go right into the setup screens by clicking OK.
    I have also entered these screens directly without being prompted for username/password by using 192.168.1.1 or myrouter.local via Internet Explorer 8 or Google Chrome. At other times I am denied access because IE cannot display page.
    I'm concerned because I can hide the Cisco Connect software however, anyone that uses my desktop has full access to my router via the web or Cisco Connect.
    The second issue is that the password to enter the router and allow access to the internet IS THE SAME! When I had my WRT54G running I had one password (8 alpha characters) to enter setup screens. There was a router generated, 16 alpha/numeric character, password to allow outside devices such as laptops, TVs and game consoles access to the internet. When I set this router up I installed the 16 character password originally used so my laptop and Wii could connect without having to fool around with their settings. Everything was fine until I went into administration and changed the password to my old 8 character one. That is when I found out that the router uses this password setting under administration to control access to the internet AND access to the router settings!
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE 8. I have ensured that my browser's history and caches are clear which they do when I shut IE down. I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 with the "proper" anti-virus and anti-malware software. My system is up-to-date.
    I have ensured that the router is running the latest firmware 1.0.05 build 2 and software 1.4.11299.0.
    I have seen other posts suggesting the removal of Cisco Connect however, I feel that this is a bandaid solution.
    I'm not professing  to be a router technician however, I "feel" the problem might be the fact that the password issue is the problem. Since the same one is being used for both accessing the router and having the router grant access to the net, my desktop is allowed to access the setup screens without being prompted for username and password.
    Again I hope SOMEONE from Cisco sees this and investigates.
    Thanks for allowing me to "rant".
    Dave

    Thank you zee29 for the reply however, when I change the router password under administration I'm presented with a screen that says the router's password has been changed on my next Cisco Connect startup. I click OK and then I'm presented with a screen that says BOTH passwords must be the same. This is crazy. My router is not secure on my desktop. Anyone who uses my desktop and wants to "fish" around can enter my router's settings without being presented with a password prompt.
    And I'm still presented with the problem of connecting via 192.168.1.1. or myrouter.local using IE 8 in which a "page cannot be displayed" message appears. I can log in via Google Chrome however, once I enter the username and password once I'm able to access router without being prompted. The network isn't totally secure.
    I have seen other posts where these Cisco routers are having "problems" when using IE. It would seem to me that Cisco would want to rectify this situation. Its not like I'm running a beta operating system that Cisco is not aware of. I'm running an XP system that is totally updated.
    I've been running Linksys/Cisco routers for years and have never had these problems. If these "problems" continues I will have no choice but to purchase a router from another company such as Netgear and say goodbye to Cisco.
    I want and need a SECURE network.

  • Which table does (CREATE_USER(USERNAME,PASSWORD)) writes to

    I am trying to figure out a way to allow application administrators to add more end users using the application (not development environment). I am told that I need to call CREATE_USER(USERNAME,PASSWORD). Does anyone know which table does this procedure writes to?? whats the table name?? is it apex_access_control?? because I looked into the object browse and saw this table and when i did a select on it, it displays the current users in there.
    so should i just get the username from the user ina textbox and directly do an insert to apex_access_control table or should i call CREATE_USER.
    Also, CREATE_USER asks for a password, Thanks

    Sharon, sorry for not giving all the information
    I am not using APEX Authentication and I am using Access Control List. When I click "Run" on "Access Control page", it allows me to add more users and assign privilige like "Administrator" and "View". I do not provide a password. The authentication scheme access an ldap directory and verifies if the user is a valid user or not. I can see a table called "APEX_ACCESS_CONTROL" and I see the users in this table (which is myself and another administrator).
    so now, I want to have a form so administrators can add users using application. Are you saying that there is a way that I can make the access control page available to administrators in the application. I was thinking I might have to add a new page myself and ask for information like (username and password) on it. I am new to APEX, so pardon me if I am not being very clear, but i hope you understand and can help me
    YES, I am asking how to add users to Access control list (remember without coming into apex as developer and adding users).
    Thanks

  • Logon failure with username/password authentication in WLE 5.1

    Hi,
    I have WLE 5.1 configured and running on a Win2K system. I am able to
    build and run the simpapp sample program. I am also able to build the
    interceptor_cxx sample and run with all interceptors other than the
    security interceptor. What I realised in this case was that the
    PersonQueryClient did not perform any login of a user from which the
    security interceptor could extract user ID information (have I missed
    something? I am a WLE and CORBA newbie) so I modified the ubb config
    file to define SECURITY as USER_AUTH and add the AUTHSVC, modified
    personqueryclientc.cpp to get access to the SecurityLevel2 principal
    authenticator, built the app, created a user with the tpussradd command,
    and ran the app (the AUTHSVC successfully starts).
    The Tobj::AuthType returned by the get_auth_type method of the
    PrincipalAuthenticator is Tobj::TOBJ_APPAUTH as I expect. I call the
    logon method with the parameters (user_name, argv[0], sys_password,
    password, 0) where user_name is the same as the user I created with the
    tpusradd command, argv[0] is personqueryclient (I've tried tpusradd'ing
    the user both with the "-c personqueryclient" argument and without),
    sys_password is the password I specified when tmloadcf was run against
    the modified ubb config file, password is the password I specified when
    I ran tpusradd. The logon always fails returning
    Security::SecAuthFailure. In the ULOGxxxx file the following message is
    displayed:
    181605.NUMBAT!TMSYSEVT.2180: LIBTUX_CAT:1484: WARN: .SysClientSecurity:
    User tbartley on SITE1 authentication failure
    I've tried running in the following manners all with the same result:
    1. With or without the security_cxx interceptor registered
    2. With the user in or not in a group
    3. With the the user created using the "-c personqueryclient" arg to
    tpusradd or not
    If I change the security level down to APP_PW then everything works and
    the security_cxx interceptor sees a client name of personqueryclient and
    a username of personqueryclient. The logon fails if I use a sys_password
    other than the one specified to tmloadcf and succeeds if I use the
    correct password.
    Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong in the username/password
    authentication case?
    Here's the code I inserted to personqueryc.cpp to perform the logon:
    // Get SecurityCurrent object
    CORBA::Object_var var_security_current_oref
    = bootstrap.resolve_initial_references("SecurityCurrent");
    SecurityLevel2::Current_var var_security_current_ref =
    SecurityLevel2::Current::_narrow(var_security_current_oref.in());
    // Get the principal authenticator
    SecurityLevel2::PrincipalAuthenticator_var
    var_principal_authenticator_oref =
    var_security_current_ref->principal_authenticator();
    char user_name[100] = "";
    char password[100] = "";
    char sys_password[100] = "";
    // Narrow to a BEA Principal Authenticator
    Tobj::PrincipalAuthenticator_var v_bea_pa =
    Tobj::PrincipalAuthenticator::_narrow(var_principal_authenticator_oref.in());
    // See what level of logon has been turned on
    Tobj::AuthType auth_type = v_bea_pa->get_auth_type();
    cout << "Auth type: ";
    switch (auth_type) {
    case Tobj::TOBJ_APPAUTH: cout << "TOBJ_APPAUTH"; break;
    case Tobj::TOBJ_SYSAUTH: cout << "TOBJ_SYSAUTH"; password[0] = '\0';
    break;
    case Tobj::TOBJ_NOAUTH: cout << "TOBJ_NOAUTH"; break;
    default: cout << "TOBJ_<unknown>"; break;
    cout << endl;
    cout << "Username: ";
    cin >> user_name;
    switch (auth_type) {
    case Tobj::TOBJ_APPAUTH: {
    cout << "User password: ";
    cin >> password;
    // fall through
    case Tobj::TOBJ_SYSAUTH: {
    cout << "App password: "; cin >> sys_password;
    break;
    default: {
    break;
    // now that we've got all the data necessary, logon
    Security::AuthenticationStatus status =
    v_bea_pa->logon(user_name,
    argv[0],
    sys_password,
    password,
    0); // user data
    cout << "Logon result: ";
    switch (status) {
    case Security::SecAuthSuccess: cout << "SecAuthSuccess"; break;
    case Security::SecAuthFailure: cout << "SecAuthFailure"; break;
    case Security::SecAuthContinue: cout << "SecAuthContinue"; break;
    case Security::SecAuthExpired: cout << "SecAuthExpired"; break;
    default: cout << "SecAuth<unknown>"; break;
    cout << endl;
    if (status != Security::SecAuthSuccess) {
    cerr << "Invalid password." << endl;
    exit(1);
    Here are the entries I added to the ubb config file:
    *RESOURCES
    SECURITY USER_AUTH
    AUTHSVC AUTHSVR
    *SERVERS
    AUTHSVR SRVGRP=SYS_GRP SRVID=6 RESTART=Y GRACE=600 MAXGEN=2 CLOPT="-A"
    I do not have the WLE Security Services installed (i.e. the package
    that provides SSL and crypto). Is this required? It's not clear to me
    from the documentation if this is required for username/password based
    authentication or not.
    Thanks for any help,

    Hi Michael
    I am using SSL in my application. So that it asks for the certificate username
    and password while startup. But now i want to mention the username and password
    in weblogic.properties file itself. So that the client need not have to provide
    the username and password everytime. I am using weblogic server 5.1 version.
    How do i do this?
    Hope my question is clear. Please help.

    Hi.
    It's not 100% clear to me what you are asking for. Do you want authentication
    turned off for
    your application? That will certainly turn off prompting for authentication
    information. You
    can set your ACL for your application (in your properties file) to allow
    everyone to execute
    it. Something like:
    weblogic.allow.execute.<myApplication>=everyone
    But maybe you want some kind of silent authentication so that not everyone
    can execute your
    app? I suppose you could pass authentication info in a cookie. I really
    don't know enough
    about your application, though.
    I suggest you post this question in weblogic.developer.interest.security
    - you have a better
    chance of getting an answer there for security related questions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Forms Services: Invalid username/password when trying to use Forms Utility

    In Oracle Application Server Control, Forms Services, I clicked on Forms-> Forms Utility-> In the Command text field, I typed "ps" then I clicked <Submit>.
    A username/password form is displayed. I entered the username/password then clicked on OK button.
    The following error message appeared, although the username/password provided was for sure correct (they are the ones I used when I started the Oracle AS Control in the first place):
    Error: oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.RemoteOperationException Check the User Name and Password
    Also I got the same message when I tried to stop a session.
    Am I right that I should use the administrator username/password used to start the Oracle AS Control? If yes, why I am gotten this message?

    Frank,
    - user credential should be OS userid/password of user who installed iAS.
    I had tried to log on using OS userid/password.
    - set "Log on as a batch job" priviledge.
    privilege had been already assigned.
    - check if "allow service to interact with desktop" is enabled
    it had been already enabled.
    - If your system does not have MKS TOOLKIT, it won't work. However, this page is designed for future enhancement. See Online Help.
    1. What is MKS Toolkit?
    2. It is stated in the documentation that it will be enhanced in the future but the command "ps" should work. It is clearly stated that I should see a list of processes.
    Thanks Frank.
    Merry Christmas to you by the way.

  • ORA-01017: invalid username/password;

    Hi there,
    I have set up an Inbound Data Exchange Session so that my program can send alerts to be displayed on OEM(Oracle Enterprise Manager), as specified in http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/em.102/b32521/em_data_ex.htm.
    I have succesfully create an Outbound Data Exchange Session where my program receives new alerts from OEM, but im encountering an issue when i send alerts to OEM. I have checked the emoms.trc file and its complaining about an invalid username and password for the database, but when i set up the Outbound Data Exchange Session, there is nowhere i can specify the database credentials!
    Is there anyway i could change the database so it can be accessed without password? I have copy pasted the emoms.trc file below.

    Do you have write the preferred credentials for the target database?
    you must select PREFERENCES --> CREDENTIALS and write the credentials for:
    agent
    host
    database
    The trc of emoms show that you dont have credentials for the database of repository. Any action of grid control that is executed in automatic mode need that you introduced the credentials for the targets
    My suggestion is that write and test the credentials for all the targets

  • Reset Username / PAssword for FAS270

    Hi Guys, I am new here and I just created my account days ago. I was ask to configure an FAS 270c and DS14-MK2 here at the office. I am also new to this technology, but I was able to have it up and running last week without error based on the LED's of the machine, both FAS270 and DS-14 My porblems is that, I am prompted by a username and password which the people here does not know about. My question is, How can you or I reset the username/password combination of an ONTAP system. Hope to hear from you on this matter. Thanks very much in advance. Jose Eliazar Bayaton

    The only way I know how to change a root password is to reboot the filer. You can just power cycle the filer since you can't login to type reboot.Press Ctrl-C to display the boot menu when prompted to do so.The storage system displays thefollowing boot menu:1) Normal Boot2) Boot without /etc/rc3) Change Password4) Initialize all disks4a) Same as option 4, but create aflexible root volume.5) Maintenance mode bootSelection (1-5)?Choose 3 to change root password...I would also set security options forpasswords like:options security.passwd.rules.maximum 14options security.passwd.rules.minimum.alphabetic 6I hope this is helps

  • Master Password for Saved Username & Passwords

    I have been a Firefox user for many years - avoiding Safari - until I found out there are a number of plugins that I need and will make using Safari a possibility. One feature I LOVE on Firefox is the way it handles passwords. I have one Master Password that I have to enter in order for Firefox to auto-fill my username and password that is saved.
    Is there a way to do this in Safari? Is there a free plugin that will add this feature?

    Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    s there a way to do this in Safari? Is there a free plugin that will add this feature?
    Yes. No need for a plugin.
    You don't need third party software for usernames and passwords. You have the Keychain Access application already. (Applications/Utilties).
    To set Safari preferences, launch Safari. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences. For usernames and passwords select the Autofill tab.
    Select the box next to: Usernames and Passwords.
    In Safari, go to a site you login using a username/password. You will be prompted to save that data so a "keychain" can be created for you.
