Username/Password for Examples App

This is probably a stupid question, but does anyone know the Username/Password for Vikas's Examples Application? I downloaded and imported it into my workspace but when I run it, I cannot log in!!!

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

Password for deleting apps

Is there a way to set up a password for deleting apps to prevent my baby from accidentally deleting apps?

You can set up Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps 'off' which will stop them being deleted (and if you set up restrictions then remember the passcode for it as you won't be able to recover it from anywhere) - the apps can still be moved around the screens so their positions may change, but they can't be deleted.

Can I choose to require a password for ANY App purchase?

The options seem to be all or nothing. Either I can enable or disable apps. I also noticed the "disable in game purchases". This blocks some, but it does NOT block the purchases where there is a link in a children's game for example. That still results in it opening up the App Store. Then I can purchase and install. I just want it to ask for a password every time I go to buy an app. Is this possible?? It seems to ask for a password sometimes, but not always.

This is a problem that has been highlighted by a leading consumer programme in the UK. Even if the App Store is set to ask for a password on purchasing, if the time is quite short (don't know exactly how many minutes) between purchases then there is no password prompt.
This has led to many users facing large bills because their children have bought a lot of in-game credits thinking they were just some sort of free part of the game.
I believe this is being looked into.

No, apps don't store usernames/passwords on the device, it would be too much of a security risk.

The code works when I remove the reference to the variables "username" & "password" in Connection "conn" call & replace them with the actual username & password, but this is not exactly what I was after. I was hoping to make the program responsive to each individual user, not set in code.
I also would like to make the program pause after the call in "main" to "PassDB" to wait for "PassDB" to exit before continuing.
I would also like to make "PassDB" destroy itself after the "OK" button is pressed & the "username" & "password" set.
If that isn't enough for you, I would really like the program to search 2 different database tables, return their values & compare them to be sure that they are the same.

Why does my password for the app store work for updates but not for new purchases

Very frustrated. I've been trying to download Evernote for days now and it keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I use the same password to update apps on my phone and it works fine.

Solved. Talked to support and went into settings/store and signed out. Powered down and restarted and logged back in through settings/store and the app store then recognized my password.

I have purchased a from within an app. I submit my password for the app, and then my Apple ID. I then get the following messages "Regrant failure _ please log in with the same user that has bought this app" and that is followed by "cant conn with IT _

I have purchased an item from within the app PocketBible on my iPad. However when I try to download it I am asked for my app User Name and Password and then my Apple ID and password. I give both of these. I then get a message which says Regrant failure - Please log in with the same user that has bought the app. That is then followed by Pocket Bible Alert - cannot connect to iTunes Store.
Anybody got any ideas, both what the 1st alert means and how I get round the problem please.

I had the same problem. My wife had the PocketBible on her Ipad 2 and she transferred ownership to me. I had to delete the app and reinstall it from the App store(logged in with my apple ID) and its working without a problem. I do not get those error messages when I attempt to Buy/Upgrade or Add/Remove books.

Authentication Scheme with Username / Password stored in App Table

Hi all,
Up to now all of our applications have used SSO authentication, but I now need to step away from this to allow users from outside our organisation (and therefore not in our OID system) to use one specific application.
I therefore have a table in my application that stores username and password. I have a function that compares the entered username and password to this table and returns a boolean result. This function is then registered in my Authentication Scheme as the Authentication function.
All this works well and is causing no problems. The problem is that the password is stored and checked in plain text - obviuosly not very good.
How do I go about changing the password column in my table, the pages that allow this password to be set and updated and the authentication function that checks the username / password to use some form of encryption?
Also, do I need to be worrying about all the other fields (Page Sentry Function,Session Verify Function, Pre-Authentication Process etc) that the Authentication Scheme offers me - or can I just leave these blank as they are now.
If someone can give me a complete 'out-of-the-box' solution that would be wonderful - otherwise a good hard pusj int he right direction would be much appreciated.
