Users Directory in Sharepoint 2013
Hi,
I follow the procedure http://www.sharepointconfig.com/2013/05/how-to-create-a-simple-sharepoint-2013-people-directory
I have more than 55 active User Profiles imported from AD, when I set my search query {SearchBoxQuery} contentclass=spspeople I have 0 result.
I set the Content Sources to Local Sharepoint Sites
Do you know if there is another prerequisite ?
Thank you in advance
Does a regular People search return any results? If it does then I suspect your problem is that you haven't chosen the right Result source. If you look close in the article you will see that they chose
the Local People Results (System) as the result source.

Anonymous User forms in Sharepoint 2013 Online (Office 365)
I'm using Sharepoint 2013 online with Office 365.
Is there any way for an anonymous user to communicate with the site using forms (preferably Infopath)?
There are many, many versions of this question on the web, but most answers seem to talk about features I just don't have in Office 365 Sharepoint - such as Application Management in Central Administration, which just isn't there.
The only feature I can find is the Excel Survey in Form Templates. This is at least a start, but what I really want is the ability for an anonymous user (a customer) to submit information into a Custom List using a form; or, second best, in an email (WITHOUT
having to have Infopath Filler installed). this is all do-able for a fully-subscribed user of the intranet site, but I can't afford to buy individual subscriptions for all my customers. Nor do I want them seeing each other's data, or accessing my intranet!
I have spent so long researching this and getting nowhere, and really need to know if it's just a straight 'no, it's impossible', or keep trying.
Thanks
JonathanHi Jonathan,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to enable anonymous user with forms in SharePoint 2013 Online.
There is a Sandbox solution from CodePlex, it manages anonymous access on Office 365 / SharePoint 2013. Please have a try.
https://anonymous365.codeplex.com/
In addition, I am not an expert for SharePoint 2013 Online, I suggest you create a new thread on SharePoint Online forum, more experts will assist you with SharePoint Online.

I hope this helps.

I'm using Sharepoint 2013 online with Office 365.

There are many, many versions of this question on the web. Several lead to
http://claytoncobb.wordpress.com/2011/06/03/infopath-allowing-anonymous-users-to-submit-forms-in-sharepoint-2010/, but this is about Sharepoint 2010, not 2013. Other answers talk about features that are not in Sharepoint online 2013, such as Application
Management in Central Administration. There is also a Sandbox solution from CodePlex that gets touted,
https://anonymous365.codeplex.com/, but this fails in Sharepoint Online 2013.
The only feature I can find is the Excel Survey in Form Templates. This is at least a start, but what I really want is the ability for an anonymous user (a customer) to submit information into a Custom List using a form; or, second best, in an email (WITHOUT
having to have Infopath Filler installed). Seems a pretty basic need, really - letting your customers place orders.

Yes, I am using the public site. But unless I'm missing something, Custom Lists (and associated forms) cannot be exposed to anonymous users. They are just not in the permissions list.
I can create a page in the public site and add a Form Templates web part. The options I then get for creating a new form in the Form Templates library are Word Document, Excel Workbook, Powerpoint Presentation, One Note Notebook or Excel Survey. An
InfoPath form is not an option. None of these (as far as I can see) allow for any data entered in the 'form' by a user to be stored in a Custom List for further processing. Most require the user to have Word/Excel/whatever on their machine, rather than
just use the browser. The nearest you get is the Excel Survey, which at least regularises the data entered by an anonymous user into columns in a spreadsheet, but this is not sophisticated enough for, say, an online ordering system in which you would not want
customers seeing each other's orders. -

Unable to edit users in UPA SharePoint 2013.
Hi,
I have created UPA service application just now, I am able to see 30 users in the site. Am able to search for the users but am unable to edit the users from the search result. Am not getting popup to edit profile after right clicking. I have provided permissions
to below accounts On UPA Databases. I have added the users under permissions option, administrators option in ribbon and provided full rights.
AppPool account user
farm admin
my admin account
Anyone have idea on what kind specific permissions I need to provide to get edit profile option.
Thanks,
Prashanth JIs IE running in compatibility mode, and if you're accessing CA from the SharePoint server, did you run it "As Administrator"?

New 2013 setup. I created 1 test site. I'm able to load the site, but If the user clicks on 'Follow', 'Skydrive', or 'Newsfeeds', the user is taken to the personal page that reads:
We're almost ready!
While we set things up, feel free to changeyour
photo, adjustyour
personal settings, and fill
ininformation about yourself.
It could take us a while, but once we're done, here's what you'll get:
Newsfeedis your social hub where you'll see updates from the people, documents, sites, and tags you're following, with quick access to the apps you've added.
SkyDrive Prois your personal hard drive in the cloud, the place you can store, share, and sync your work files.
Sitesgives you easy access to the places you'll want to go.
There seems to be some sort of user init that never completes.

Any thoughts on this? troubleshooting tips?In my case, here is what happened and how I fixed it.
Situation:
Mysite is a new web application. We have two one-way trusts in place since the domain of the farm is different than the two other domains where users reside. So I ran the
STSADM.exe -o setproperty -pn peoplepicker-searchadforests -pv "Forest1,Domain1\account,password;
Forest2,Domain2\account,password"
-url https://mysitesURL
This allowed the user policy of the new Mysites web application to search through the two domains where AD users reside. Once I added them I was good, no more errors.
One thing to note, I have two web apps using the same wildcard cert and running off port 443 SSL.
I wanted to make the user picture come from AD so I changed that user property (Picture) in User Profile Service options, and this seems to have broken initial MySite creation, but once the user adds a picture
to their profile settings, the site starts working. I need to remove the property I added for "Picture" in user profile properties.
This is the process I took that caused my problem:

Even though you can go to the display/edit form of the user list, you also can’t edit the information.
Hope this helps

User profile in SharePoint workflow
User profiles can be used to fetch the user Manager, department, Title in SharePoint designer workflows.
This is not available in SharePoint 2013 workflow. However i can create 2010 workflow in SP2013 Sites, is there any way to get the user information from SharePoint 2013 workflow or Sharepoint 2013 in general to fetch the user details from Active Directory
to use in Sharepoint Online/O365.Hi,
In addition to using Workflow Custom Activity to get User Profile properties, you could try using REST API web service. Please refer to Rajkumar's step in the thread below:

How to have profile thumbnails image appear in a SharePoint 2013 list?
Hello,
I am not using MySites, but have a SharePoint 2013 list with profiles in them. They were imported from Active Directory, where I do have thumbnail images for each profile. I am using SharePoint 2013. How would I get these images from AD
into the SharePoint list? I have the attribute setup in User Profiles Synchronization, but the images did not show up. I followed these steps in this posting, but I did not do the PowerShell step, since I am not using MySites.

At our customer we deployed, ADFS 3.0 and the web application proxy, to provide external users access to SharePoint 2013.
we went with this solution as UAG is pretty much gone now.
Every time a editor opens up a office document he/she is prompted for password.
I have checked that the URLs is in the intranet Zone, and that the webclient is configured for passing on credentials.
We are using kerberos and Non-claim-aware relying parties.
Please advise, we really really rally need a SSO experience as we had when using UAG.

Hi Guys,
It would be very helpful to me if anyone can share any 3rd party solution for the above feature?
I found a solution http://azurecp.codeplex.com/ which is really a very good solution and does what I want. As this is a critical requirement to my SharePoint, there needs a certain level of support (or call it Official Support) which is more justifiable
at management level. Hence, please share if you happen to know one please.
ChengHi,
As you said, AzureCP is third party solution, this is third party tools.

Forms based authentication in sharepoint 2013 using custom membership provider
I am developing FBA for SP2013 using custom membership provider using the following link
http://benredl.wordpress.com/2012/10/03/creating-forms-based-authentication-and-user-profiles-in-sharepoint-2013-using-custom-membership-and-role-providers-and-a-custom-user-profile-synchronization-utility/
the feature i am trying to develop is that the user is created using a homegrown asp.net application which uses sql server
and then When that user goes to SP2013 he should be able to login with the username and password created using the homegrown asp.net application
my questions are following
If I follow the article in the link should i be taking the assembly(dll) and deploying it to GAC or will VS2013 automatically do it
Do I have to implement FindUserByEmail and FindUserByName methods ?
if the connectionstring for an asp.net application is in the web.config file where would the connection for the sqlserver go if this application is for SharePoint
TIAHi TIA,
try this it contains the code for you and it is ready

Sharepoint 2013 - Active Directory Import User Profile Property manager fields
Hi there,
I juste encountered actually a little issue regarding the Active Directory Import User Profil.
Importation seems to work well but I have a little problem regarding the Manager field.
When I verify a user profil through the sharepoint admin page ("Manage user profil") , I can see the manager field is correctly populated, but if I want to check my profil as a user (personal information), the manager field is not visible.
With Sharepoint Admin and Manage Profil Properties, I haven't the possibility to modify some settings for the manager.
For example, Policy parameters is greyed.
The only way I found to show this field in a user profil is to give the permission "allow users to Edit values ...".... setting I don't want to set.
Have you already this sort of issue ?
Thanks for your help/idea.Hi Michael,
I don't remember well what I did exactly regarding this issue because I played a lot with user profil.
I know I used this powershell script from Sheyia which in fact help me a lot to clean and create a good profil setting.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sheyia/archive/2013/10/09/sharepoint-2013-another-way-to-change-order-for-user-profile-properties-via-powershell.aspx
For example, this script help me to resolve some double entries.
Let-me know if it help you (or not of course)
