Users of non-English interface: please test and report bug to Apple

interesting observation in the German interface:
set iMovie prefs to 'show no frames' in time ('9s' instead of '9:00')
in the German interface, the abrv. for second in use is 'sek' ('9sek')
these two extra letters obviously kill some internal math of iMovie:
entering '53' into the Inspector results in 10min = max length
'53,00', '53:00'. '00:53', '0,53' - no difference!
setting iMovie to English on same Mac results in correct handling.
in case, your interface language arbreviates 'seconds' to something more than just one letter, please test it.
in case it results into the same '10min' error, please report at:

Back when lots of folks used dialup, there was the issue of call-waiting - it would disconnect an active connection.  There was a key combination you could punch into the phone to disable it - Google showed me how:
http://www.yashy.com/star.codes.html
*70 Call Waiting Disable (Per Call)
So call waiting might be the problem.  Or phone line quality might also be it.  You can probably get your local provider out to test the line quality, but I don't think they ever claimed the voice line would have a level of service guaranteed good for data transmission.  But it seems unlikely that the modem would be the issue - if it works, i'll work until it completely dies.  I have no idea how you might go about testing a modem these days.

    nowadays have many user have problem with update to ios7 and need active with apple id maybe in the future in order escape from these problems must be stop use these products else. Because of simple user don't know about this technology and sometime just hear from other user that it 's difficult to use then force they change phone that use to handle to another.

    It is a feature to discourage the theft of iPhones by making them useless if resold. It's not going anywhere. It's simple: just don't buy a phone until you make sure that the activation lock has been disabled.

  • System Language is English but all documents and reports come out in French

    System Language is English but all documents and reports come out in French. How do I get the system to switch all of the documents and reports to print in the English layouts?
    thx, Richard.

    Richard,
    Probably this is due to what Dan has pointed out.
    You can open the PLD template and go to Print Layout Design menu on the Top and click Display document properties.  Check the language properties.

  • Loading Non-English Characters using VBA and BAPI

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to load Non-English characters (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.) into a SAP Table using BAPI and VBA. I have set the connection language and codepage values but when I run the tool, the non-English characters display as ????? or #####. Do you know how to fix this issue?
    Thanks!

    If your language is a unicode tehn you need to change the options  like IN SAP you need to change it to unicode  in the initial screen Customize local layout(ALT F12) options 118  --> Encoding ....

  • NGS Sponsors authentication does not work in case user has non-English character in his password

    Hi,
    we are using the NAC Guest Server v 2.0.1 and have Sponsors authentication done through Radius servers. Radius servers are Microsoft IAS using AD.
    Sponsors user authentication works okay in case user's password includes English characters, but does not work in case an user uses national characters like for example Umlauts in German.
    On Radius server I can see these error messages:
    User XXXX was denied access.
    Reason = Authentication was not successful because an unknown user name or incorrect password was used.
    As soon as an user changes his password and uses English characters only, it resolves.
    I guess this might be that NGS uses different coding while sending a password to Radius server, but not sure.
    Appreciate if anyone knows a root cause and what could be a workaround. Unfortunately our AD policy allows users to use national characters and we can hardly change it. So a change on NGS or Radius side would be more viable.
    Many thanks for your help.

    A case has been opened at Cisco and it is now quite clear that it is a problem with coding.
    According to Cisco development team NGS uses UTF-8 coding to send the password, of course encrypted, to the Radius server. This cannot be changed within NGS. We use Radius Microsoft IAS Version 5.2.3790.3959 running on VMWare Windows 2003 SP2. More tests are scheduled to be performed.

  • Signature not available in 10.1.3 MUI "non-english interface"

    Hi,
    I'm deploying Adode 10.1.3, but it seems to be impossible to have "Sign" option in French and Japanese interface ? Is there any way to show/activate this button in all languages ?
    Thanks.

    Hmmm, all websites announced this new functionnality, so that doesn't help me / it's not a good news.
    Only 3/4 buttons to translate, I hope Adobe will have time to include it in 10.1.4...

  • Non-functioning monitor, please read and help!

    Hello everyone!
    We have had wonderful function from our 24inch iMac for over 2 years now. We've never had a problem with it and it mostly functions for family entertainment. It is not overworked graphically besides some gaming.
    Anyways, usually the computer does stay on for extended periods of days, however it is always put into sleep mode at night. This morning when we go to wake it up, nothing happens. We can hear the computer working in the background, can turn volume up/down, eject disk, etc. We have not upgraded anything recently, added new applications, or changed/added hardware. Using a flashlight on the screen reveals no image at all, doesn't seem like just the backlight is out. I've tried manual restart, leave comp unplugged for an hour, reset pram/nvram, but nothing.
    By your expert opinion, where do we go from here? Is there something obvious we're missing, or is this the end of the road for the monitor? Thanks for your time!

    Hi, Welcome to the discussion area!
    If you have a 24" iMac you have an Intel-based iMac not an iMac G5. You really should post in the Intel-based iMac discussion area.

    my ipod is not responding. It is giving a message pleases wait low battery and showing me a link to apple support

    Hey,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    Well leave it for few minutes then try plugging it to the charger, if that does not work. Try restoring it from revious backup. This will change the software and hopefully earase the error. If that did not fix it i guess you need to take it to the Store for a check.
    I really hope this helps you. Let me know if it does. If not feel free to give me a shout. Best of luck.

  • Youtube issue - search with non-english letters

    The issue appeared after the recent software update, worked correctly in the previous one.
    When searching youtube with non-english letters (through iphone remote app), it assumes every letter to be an "enter" and reports a problem connecting to youtube.
    Even when I try using the "recent searches", it will report the same problem for non-english items.

    you need to report it to apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html

  • Oracle 10g - Defining the column name in Non English

    Hi Experts,
    I have an exisitng application which is developed on Windows using ASP Technology and uses Oracle 10g 10.1.0.2.0.
    The application is supported with an instance of Data Base within which multiple tablespaces are created for different clients. The application is developed in such a way that some of the tables arecreated dynamically and the columns are named using the data entered through the UI.
    This application needs to be globalized now. The problem is, the column name entered through the UI can be in any language based on the client's settings and those values in turn will be used for naming the columns in the tables.
    1) Can I have the column names to be named using non english characters in Oracle 10g DB? If so,
    1.1) what should I do to configure the exisiting Oracle instance to support it?
    1.2) To what level is that configuration possible, is it per DB instance level (or) can it be done at Tablespace level. I would like to configure each tablespace to host tables with columns defined with different languages, say for example, tablespace 1 will have tables with Japaenese column names and tablespace 2 will have tables with German column names?
    2) What should I do to make my entire DB to support unicode data i.e., to accept any language strings. Currently all strings are declared as VarChar2, should I change all VarChar2 to NVarChar2 (or) is there a way to retain the VarChar2 as is and make some database wide setting?
    Please note that I do not have an option of retaining the column in English as per the Business Requirement.
    Envionment:
    OS - Windows 2003 32 bit
    Oracle 10g 10.1.0.2.0
    UI forms in ASP
    TIA,
    Prem

    1. Yes, you can.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá number(10));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values (10);
    1 row created.1.1 and 1.2 and 2. You can choose UTF as your default character set. It allows the user of non-English characters in VARCHAR columns in your whole database. It is not per tablespace.
    SQL> create table ÜÝÞ( ßàá varchar2(100));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into ÜÝÞ values ('âãäçìé');
    1 row created.

  • How to validate for non-english character on a single line text field

    In a "Single Line Text" field we would like to allow the users to enter alpha numeric values only. We should show error when the user enter non-English values like
    carácter
    Vijayaragavan, MCTS

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to validate for non-english character on a single line text field.
    I recommend to use jQuery to attach regular expression validation. Please refer to:
    Using #jQuery to attach regular expression validation to a #SharePoint list form field
    In addition, for custom validations you can create your own Types. Refer to
    this[^] for creating custom field type

  • Non English characters conversion issue in LSMW BAPI Inbound IDOCs

    Hi Experts,
    We have some fields in customer master LSMW data load program which can
    contain non-English characters. We are facing issues in LSMW BAPI
    method with non-English characters Conversion. LMSW steps read and
    conversion are showing the non-English characters properly with out any

  • Preparedstatement - please test this code!!

    I hope someone can test this code and tell me if it works. It seems to work on my computers (win98 and win2000, and access 2002 database, compiling etc,and even returns that it updated 1 record. But the database is unchanged. Commit is default to autocommit, what else could be causing this? None of the setxxx commands work. Yet no errors are given. Please test and let me know. Or, send me similar simple code that works on an access 2002 database from win98 or 2000. I am wondering if access 2002 has something to do with this. I am using default ODBC driver that came with the OS.
    Thank you,
    Jacques
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.io.*;

    static Driver d;
    static Connection conn;
    final static String jdbcDriver="sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver";
    static String databaseURL = "jdbc:odbc:" + "dbtest";
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    d = (Driver) Class.forName(jdbcDriver).newInstance();
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection(databaseURL);
    PreparedStatement stmt = conn.prepareStatement(
    "UPDATE employee SET emp_id = ? WHERE Index = ?");
    stmt.setString( 1, "John" );
    stmt.setInt( 2, 2);
    System.out.println("about to update");
    int count = stmt.executeUpdate();
    System.out.println("number updated=" + count);
    catch( Exception e ){
    System.out.println("Error:" + e);
    Database: Set up access database with table employee at least 2 records, one field called emp_id, register it in odbc as dbtest

    Ok, for anyone else that encounters this, I found the answer! After a week of very frustrating testing, I stuck in a close() to the connection, and the changes were then actually made. I had counted on Java to close them properly upon exit, but I must specify the conn.close() after the executeUpdate before they take effect. Another weird worm of Java IMHO.

  • Task "task outcome" field in non-english SP installation

    hi guys,
    I'm developing solution in english language enviroment and then install it in non-english production enviroment. And I'm having a problem with task items in sharepoint 2013 workflow. If I programmatically define TaskOutcome field value as "Approved",
    in workflow If activity it doesn't have the same value as Approved.
    Is there any system values for task lists or something?

    I just deploy WSP file on a server.
    There's no error as it is: condition in workflow looks like this:
    "if outcome_1==0"  (outcome_1 is a result of a single task activity)
    If I open task in a default task edit form it works just fine. But if I try to complete task programmatically then I need to set task fileds values in the languege current Sharepoint install is. So following code is no good any more:
    //Completing a task
    var item = SPContext.Current.Item;
    item["TaskOutcome"] = "Approved";
    item["PercentComplete"] = "1";
    item["Status"] = "Completed";
    item.Update();
    instead of "Approved" and "Completed" have to be words in different language.
    So the question is how to set this values for all languages?
