Using 2 application on 1 terminal server

Hi ,
I have 2 application running on my terminal server . and in terminal server you can only run 1 application on login , how to setup the terminal sever to boot 2 application and the user choose with one he want to use .
is it the best way to create a group policy and stop everything and on the desktop and just keep the 2 icons .
if there is any solution please let me know

Hi,
I think a remote application being published is the best way to tackle this. That way you can publish the application to a web page, or to the users start menu, and they can select it, it will then launch only that application. The user can run multiple
applications simultaneously this way too.

Running LabVIEW applications on Windows Terminal Server

I have built a client application in LabVIEW that one of our users want to run on a Windows 2000 Terminal Server...the question is; how does Windows Terminal Server handle the different sessions; does is launch multiple copies of the application and if so how about support files? In my case the client application has a configuration and a temp file in it's directory...if multiple users use the application on the terminal server; does it or can it be set up to make one copy of the app directory for each session? If not - is there a way / what is the best way to get separate configurations and temp files for each session?

Using X11 applications without having xorg-server installed.

I have 2 computers in my network: one is a powerful 8 CPU SPARC, the second is quite old and has 4 slow CPUs. I'd like to run graphical applications on this slow server (logging into it via ssh, server doesn't have either vga nor monitor, it's usable only via console login and ssh), but I would like this powerful computer to be a X11 server - it should work with all those graphical programs that I will run on slow computer. Is it possible (if yes, I would be glad if you tell me how) to remove X11 server software from slow computer (leaving there only client apps, like mozilla, xclock, etc.) and configure it in this way, that this powerful computer will handle all X11 requests?

Just don't start an X server on the slow one.
Then you could either ssh into the machine and run programs with your display explicitly set to the other machine.
(Only necessary if you're not using SSH X forwarding)

Use of CCP on a terminal server

I would like to use Cisco Configuration Professional CCP on Windows Terminal Server, which is accessed via RDP. This server is shared by several network administrators and is used to administer our network devices.
How do I configure CCP, so that
a) more than one user can start it at the same time
b) username and password in a community are not the same for every user (you don't want a colleague of yours to make use of this software using your account)

Error Message Running Application From MS Terminal Server. Ora-01019

There is a MS security option that has to be enabled for the non-administrative users.
Please grant "Create global objects" to the non-administrative privileges as indicated at:

Deploying applications to Terminal Server.

Hi,
Brief question, when deploying applications to a terminal server, setting the deployment to 'no user logged on' is fine but do you need to script putting the server in install mode and then execution mode either side of the deployment, i.e make the script
a dependencie?.

Running Forms on oracle Application 10g(9.0.4) on terminal Server

oracle application Server Installation guide for windows states that
Oracle Application Server is not supported on Windows operating systems that
include Terminal Services (for example, Windows NT Terminal Server Edition and
Windows 2000 with Terminal Services are not supported).
My Remarks : It means Oracle Application server cannot be installed on the Windows server on which Windows Terminal Services are on.
Please consider the following deployment scenario
Server 1
OS : Windows 2000
Software Installed : Oracle Database 10g
Server 2
OS : Windows 2000
Software Installed : Oracle Application Server 10g(9.0.4) on which Forms and Reports are deployed
Server 3
OS : Windows 2000 as Terminal Server
Software Installed : IE 6.0 , that will act as Client Machine.
I have following Queries
1. Oracle does not allow OAS installed on Terminal Server, will it allow Terminal Server( Server 3) to act as Client and to run web base forms and reports on it.
2.
In case It allow to run forms and reports on Terminal Server ( Server 3) does it means thin client machines connected to Terminal Sever can access Forms and Reports.

The bottom line is that we don't certify running Forms using the features of a terminal server to serve up any part of those Forms. That doesn't mean it does not work, but its not certified or supported.

I would like to use Cisco 2800 Router as terminal server. I use 2T-WIC (Serial) in asynchronous mode, while the remote computer connects to router's port by dial up, using PPP protocol get IP address and access the network. What configuration should be set in router in order to implemented such service. Should any authentication be implemented and if so, what is the right setup?

Acrobat 9 Reader with Windows 2008 Terminal Server

I am setting up a Windows 2008 Terminal Server and i need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. I downloaded and installed the Vista version and it worked from the console but when i try to access it via a terminal server session the application just crashes. If i try and run it as administrator in the same terminal server session it launches fine.
Any suggestions????

Make Certain that you Had the Server In "TS-Install" Mode When you Installed Acrobat. It Is In your Control Panel. I Have Pasted the MS Help File Below.
Install Programs on a Terminal Server
You should install the Terminal Server role service on the computer before you install any programs that you want to make available to users. If you install the Terminal Server role service on a computer that already has programs installed, some of the existing programs may not work correctly in a multiple user environment. Uninstalling and then reinstalling the affected programs may resolve these issues.
To ensure that an application is installed correctly to work in a multiple user environment, you must put the terminal server into a special installation mode before you install the application on the terminal server. This special installation mode ensures that the correct registry entries and .ini files that are needed to support running the application in a multiple user environment are created during the installation process.
You can put a terminal server into this special installation mode by using either of the following:
Install Application on Terminal Server tool under Programs in Control Panel. This tool will run a wizard to help install the application.
Change user /install command at a command prompt. You will have to start the installation of the application manually.
After the application is installed, you must put the terminal server into execution mode before remote users begin using the application. The Install Application on Terminal Server tool will automatically put the terminal server into execution mode when it is finished running. To put the terminal server into execution mode from a command prompt, use the change user /execute command.
Additional considerations
Some programs may require minor setup modifications to run correctly on a terminal server.
If you have programs that are related to each other or have dependencies on each other, you should install the programs on the same terminal server. For example, you should install Microsoft Office as a suite on the same terminal server instead of installing individual Office programs on separate terminal servers.
You should consider installing individual programs on separate terminal servers in the following circumstances:
The program has compatibility issues that may affect other programs.
A single program and the number of associated users may fill server capacity.

Outlook integration on terminal server

Hi Experts,
I am facing Outlook Integration problems with one of our clients who uses outlook integration on their terminal server for about 10 users. They were on SAP 2007A SP00 PL47 and using outlook integration on terminal server for about 10 users without any problems.
I recently upgraded them to SAP 2007A SP01 PL7 and after that there are add-on initialization errors on the terminal server with outlook integration and payment add-on. The add-ons are installed and working OK on application server and other client machines.
On the terminal server;
1. Initialization of add-ons failed giving "Initialization Failed" error. I tried to reinstall add-on on Terminal server but same result.
2. When trying to logon to SAP within Outlook; system gives ""XYZ" is not a valid company name" error and login fails.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

Is anyone aware of any attempts at using Forte with the windows
terminal server software. I am interested in the possibility of using
the terminal server concept for applications which are more of the
"heads down data entry" type. The cost of a typical PC client (even a
"thin" one) is not easily cost justified in these cases.
It seems to me that using the terminal server concept would
potentially be a lower cost approach to providing a Forte client in
this type of application.
If anyone has any thoughts or experience on this I'd appreciate
hearing about it.

Outlook 2010 Pro Plus not showing Retention/Archive Policies only on Terminal Server

I have Office 2010 Pro Plus (Terminal Server License) installed on Remote Desktop Services 2008 R2 and running Outlook 2010 against Exchange 2010 SP1 with Enterprise CALS for all users. If I run Outlook locally on a PC (not TS Client)
I have apply folder retention policies and archival policies no problem but if I open Outlook on Terminal Server I cannot. Everything is greyed out. This is the exact same version of Outlook, just different keys but I can't apply any policies for
the Terminal Server users.
So, to clarify, on a regular PC, I can click an Outlook folder, click on the "Policies" button on the ribbon and have retention policies as well as Online Archive settings as I should but when I use the same version on Terminal Server
the Policies button is greyed out completely and cannot set. I am NOT using auto-archive settings and not using PST files, only Online Archive.

Unable to create Target for siebel 8.1.1 using Oracle Application Adapter

I am unable to connect to siebel application using Oracle Application Adpater for weblogic server.Details are as follows
OS - Linux x86
Weblogic - 10.3.3
SOA - 11.1.1.3
Siebel - 8.1.1
When tried to create target following error is thrown
"Error getting targer[Siebel] - Invalid or incomplete string .(SBL- JCA - 00301)"
Can any body help me to resolve this issue.

There is definitely a table called HSP_LOCK in the planning applications repository, are you sure you are looking in the correct place.

I have Citrix VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) Implemented
in my company and installed few Applications on App Server lets say.... MS Office 2013, filzialla, putty, etc...
I assigned these apps to the users through CITRIX STUDIO, when I try to use these apps. on VDI everything is working fine only when i tried to open Word, Excel or Powerpoing, outlook it throws error as
""This copy of Microsoft Office 2013 cannot be used on a computer running Terminal Services" error message when you try to open the Click-to-Run version of an Office 2013 program or suite on
a terminal server"" and apps gets closed.
Please help me on this ASAP.

As mentioned in ths article below, run for Office 365 products on to a Remote Desktop Session Host server is not supported. You can install Office products for Office 365 to a virtual desktop, but the virtual desktop must be assigned to a single user.

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit to be used as a terminal server

Hello,
I'm looking at using a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit PC as a Terminal Server using an application such, as ThinStuff XP/VS (www.thinstuff.com), to manage the RDP connections. Based on everything I've read, it looks like there's no Terminal Server CALs available
for purchase through MicroSoft, so is there a need to worry about licensing? Each PC that connects will have it's own Windows 7 Pro valid license and, of course, the PC to be used is also valid. Are there any licensing concerns I should have?

To set up a terminal server, I suggest to set up a windows server system, Since Windows 7 is a client operating system and I do not suggest to use a third part software to modify its roles, especially the role or function related to the license. As for your
