Using 2 controllers with 2 separate patches sets

i have two controllers and i would like to use separate patches sets, how can i do?
for example:
controller 1 -> piano
controller 2 -> organ, synth
i want to switch between organ and synth with program change but if i make a patch with two channel strips (piano on channel 1 and organ on channel 2) when i send program change i should have another patch with another piano and then the synth. is there a way to have only one istance of piano and to have the program change switching only between organ and synth?

Program change messages are not passed to the channel strips, they are captured and used for changes Mainstage patches. I think that the easiest way to do what you want is to use the mutes of the channel strips that have organ and synth on them, but not affecting the mute state of the piano channel strip.
Your patch would have both sounds mapped across the same range of the keyboard. Add 2 buttons to the workspace and learn them to the same button (or whatever) on your external controller. Go to Edit mode then map each of the on-screen buttons to the mutes of the 2 channel strips you want to control. Then use the mute button on the channel strip and mute the sound you don't want to hear at first.
Now, when you push the button on your external controller the mutes states of the 2 channel strips should switch... the first one should mute while the second one unmutes. This will allow you to stay in the same patch but switch between the 2 sounds.

Is anyone using their MB with a separate monitor?

I am wondering if using the MB with a separate monitor causes it to be noisier or hotter. I once tried to use a PB with a separate monitor and it was extremely noisy.

Your MB should preform without any issue's. I of course suggest that you only use the external monitor when the AC adaptor is plugged in.

How to do in-place-upgrades with the new patch sets (11.2.0.2.0)?

Oracle has released the new patch set 11.2.0.2.0 for Oracle Database whose installation deviates from the previous patch set instructions. Are there any new deployment procedures available to do an in-place upgrade? We have a lot (about 100) of development databases here, most of them do not have enough hard disk space to do an out-of-place upgrade, so the need for updated deployment procedures is definetely there.

I am trying to do an in-place-upgrade (replacing the old Oracle software completely because our test servers have only very little space). When you want to perform an out-of-place upgrade, things are more simple, but you need the disk space for a new Oracle home (about 6 GB on Linux-x64 in my case). Essentially, the steps are:
1. You can keep the production database online during the next steps
2. Install the new 11.2.0.2.0 into a new Oracle Home (an Oracle software directory which does not exist yet). Only install the software.
3. Apply any post-11.2.0.2.0 patches if available and needed
4. Schedule a maintenance window with your users
5. Put the original database(s) in MOUNT mode (SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE followed by STARTUP MOUNT)
6. Perform a FULL backup of both database and old Oracle home, just to be on the safe side.
7. Set your enviromnent: ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_BASE should point to your NEW installation, ORACLE_SID to your production database.
8. Start netca to create a new LISTENER for your new software installation (you might want to use a different port than your previous installation in case you need to run both at the same time)
9. Start dbua from the new Oracle Home and follow the on-screen instructions. You can either create an updated copy of the database (needs more disk space but you can easily switch back to your orginal DB), or you change the database to fit your new Oracle version (needs less space, but you need to run the scripts to downgrade to the old release if you need to go back)
So, as long as you have plenty of disk space, things are not that difficult at all. Of course, you should always read the release notes and the full installation guides for the new version because there might be new features or behaviours that affect your database. It is also highly advisable to test this on a completely different machine first.

Sync used new iPad with iTunes w/o setting as new device or restoring

few weeks after using new iPad that never synced with iTunes (backing up to iCloud), i want to sync iBooks and Aperture photos from iTunes library.
But, when i connect my iPad to iTunes using usb cable, there are only two choices: Set as new device or restore from older backup. I dont want to sync anything but iBooks and photos. What could i do?

Hmm, is Whitson's iPad the current name of the device, or an earlier iPad? Does that image you've shown occupy the entire iTunes window or is the usual column of library sources and playlists shown down the left-hand side. If the list is there then the iPad should appear as a device that you can right/option/cmd-click on. Failing that with all your purchases having come from the store you should be able to set up as new device and then reacquire all your store content but that would lose any data and settings. I suppose that after restoring as new, then backing up to the machine, you could then try restoring the backup from the cloud, and then if needed go through the original process as I suggested.
You might find that if you opt to set up as new nothing actually changes until you choose some content to sync, which may give you the opportunity to use the process I've previously outlined. Sorry I can't be clearer but I know that method has worked for a few people who have had to switch computers after a crash. I'm not personally familiar with the process under your precise circumstances.
The "cut the cord" feature which allowed you to set up the device without connecting to a computer is all well and good but if you have to go through this sort of effort when the time comes that you want to hook up your device to a library on your computer it becomes a complete nightmare.

However, we recently had a change of leadership and we think this person might have logged into or put our cloud on his phone to sabotage our business. I changed the password but that didn't fix the situation. I could put a job on the cloud with an old phone that was logged in with the old password and everyone with the new password would still see the job. I have since created a whole new cloud account which seems to have eliminated the "future" issue of sabotage however I would like to completely eliminate that old account...any advise?

Everyone needs to go to Settings (or System Preferences)>iCloud and click 'Delete account' or 'Sign out' as applicable (it's the same thing). Then they can sign into the new account you have created and proceed from there. You can't actually delete the old account from the server but you can just ignore it.

I have been requested to restrict entry in a JTextField to English alphaNumeric and Full-width Katakana.
The East Asian language support also allows Hiragana and Half-width Katakana.
I have tried to attach a DocumentFilter. The filter employs a ValidateString method which strips all non (Latin) alphaNumerics as well as anything in the Hiragana, or Half-width Katakana ranges. The code is pretty simple (Most of the code below is dedicated to debugging):

}I run this code, use the language bar to switch to Full-width Katakana and type "y" followed by "u" which forms a valid Katakana character. I then used the language bar to switch to Hiragana and retyped the "Y" followed by "u". When the code sees the Hiragana codepoint generated by this key combination it rejects it. My debugging statements show that the document is properly updated. However, when I type the next character, I find that the previously rejected codePoint is being sent back to my insert method. It appears that the text somehow got cached in the composedTextContent of the JTextField.
Here is the output of the program when I follow the steps I just outlined:

As far as I can tell, the data in the document looks fine. But the JTextField does not have the same data as the document. At this point it is not displaying the ff59 codePoint as a "y" (as it does when first entering the Hiragana character). but it has somehow combined it with another codePoint to form a complete Hiragana character.
Can anyone see what it is that I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated as I am baffled at this point.

You have a procedure called "remove" but I don't see you calling it from anywhere in your program. When the validation failed, call remove to remove the bad character.

I use thunderbird without any proiblem.
I personally don't let TB set up my email address configuration, and do it myself.
Things to check in the TB account setting :-
1. Name - doesn't really matter
2. Email address - make sure that it's your full @btinternet.com email address
3. (Server settings) - server name: mail.btinternet.com, port 110 / username - can be the whole @btinternet.com email address
security settings - Connection security - None, Password authentication Password, transmitted insecurely

a customer asked me to update an Oracle database 10.1.3.0 on Windows 32 platform. THe only patches installed are **5556081** and *5557962*..
I looked for new updated patches and I founded some Oracle Recommended Patches ID 756671.1 and Oracle Patch Bundles ID 1207176.1 for 10.2.3.0.
Honestly I don't know how to proceed in the sense that i don't know if it is better to apply these bundle patches or to go directly to Oracle Patch Set 10.2.4.0 or 10.2.5.0 for a better update.
What is the difference between Oracle Patch Bundle and Oracle Patch Set?? and the difference between Oracle patch Set and Oracle Patch Set Update???
Any help will be well appreciated..I need to do this update asap

Pl clarify what you mean by "10.1.3.0", "10.2.3.0", "10.2.4.0" and "10.2.5.0" - there a no such Oracle versions
I believe you mean 10.1.0.3, 10.2.0.3, 10.2.0.4 and 10.2.0.5
If so, all of the above are patch sets on top of the base release (10.1 or 10.2). It is always recommended to update to the latest patch set release.
Pl note that both 10.1 and 10.2 are de-supported - you should be using the latest 11gR2 version.

Edit the SMTP server list. Add a new one for the business account. Put the correct password and information for it. Give it a description so you will know which server is which. Mke sure the correct server is highlighted in the account selected and check the box to use only that server for that account. Do that for the other account also.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Using apple tv with 2 tv sets

i connected my apple tv to my denon amplifier (AVR 4308), which is connected to my first tv set in the living room. I can successfully play video and music from my itunes library and video/music are streamed to my home theater/sound systems through my amplifier by using apple tv.
Now, i want to be able to play the video and its related sound in my second tv set in another room simultaneously with my first tv set. Basically i tried to connect the output of the first tv (the video and its sound streamed through apple tv) to the second tv by using an audio/video cable which goes from the output of the first tv to the input of the second tv. The distance between the two tv's is 25 meters and i was not able to play the video/sound streamed by apple tv in both tv sets at the same time by using this audio/video cable. This audio/video cable was helpful to broadcast satellite tv output of the first tv in the second tv BUT it was not successful to broadcast the output created by the apple tv.
I spoke with some technicians and they suggested using a SPLITTER (?): basically, the suggestion was to use 1 SPLITTER (?) with 2 separate HDMI cables connected to the first and second TV's separately instead of trying to connect the output of the first TV to the input of the second TV.
I am not sure if this will work and need your opinion before i go ahead - i would like to remind that i also checked if i have an HDMI output socket in the first TV set (both TV sets are 2 years old Sony) in order to connect the output of the first TV set to the input of the second TV by using an HDMI connection but apparently, the first TV doesnt have any HDMI output socket.
Your thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated and apologies for the long e-mail.

I bought an hdmi splitter from gefen, the gefen toolbox 1:4 hdmi splitter. It works better than I expected. I have the apple tv connected to the splitter and from the splitter I have 1x12ft cable and 3x30ft cables. 3 of the tv's are in the same room and the audio is connected with optical cable into my reciever. From the reciever I have a Rca cable to a second reciever that is by the seperate tv. Combining all this with wireless streaming from ipod/iphone is really epic as my guests can play from there iphones.
The audio is spot with the video with this setup. There is no lag with the hdmi running through the splitter.

I can't help you with a direct answer. For third-party devices you should contact the vendor (Vodafone).
If you have an iPhone (or an Android phone with hot-spot capability) you can use that to connect to the Internet without paying for a separate cellular service.
