Can anyone on this planet tell me exactly want I have to do to run two (apple, plastic) monitors on my G5. I found out there is a adapter I need but what else?

No the only way to get a "last logged in" number is to run the audit report
in GWCHECK.

Sniffing vlan without using monitor session

Hello,
I am trying to configure sniffing on vlan without using monitor session on 3550 - 122-25.SEB. My idea was to put static mac mapping for all the mac addresses in the vlan to one port where to put IDS sniffing interface. Unfortunately the switch doesn't accept static mapping for mac address that he already knows via dynamic mapping on one and the same vlan. If I first shut down the port where the source device is located then I can put static mapping but after enabeling the port again the switch doesn't lear the dynamic mac. Is there any other way to redirect traffic ? I am thinking also if I can disable mac address learning on this vlan ->turning the switch in to hub for this vlan ?

Your vlan also needs to be configured for remote-span:

I would keep the filter attached, if the frame is not "good" it can't do any harm on the destination-system. It typically won't even get there.
And make sure that you don't have too much span-traffic on the interswitch-links and the destination-link.

Error while creating PO using monitor shopping cart

Hi all,
We are facing one issue while creating the PO in SRM using the monitor shopping cart node. The system is throwing an error message stating that u201CEnter Tax Codeu201D because of this we are not able to proceed further. Can anyone knows why this error message is showing. I debugged the code but I couldnu2019t find out from where this message is triggering. Which BADI / FM is called up at this point giving this error message..?
Any point on this will highly appreciated .

Does your business has practice to enter a tax details in basic data of sc since this below configuration brings the tax settings in shopping for all type of shopping carts

if it so the basic data , you can find tax details otherwise not.
if there is a setting like no tax determination, you need to check the given vendor data whether ERS is flaged or not.
since ERS flag equires tax data.

Using Monitor to Watch DVD

I recently got a Samsung monitor which I use to hook up to my macbook. I usually use it as my only screen, but there are times that I want to watch a DVD and work at the same time. I am trying to figure out how to get either Front Row or the DVD player to work full screen on my monitor while I have word or some other program open on my macbook screen. I have it set up so that my monitor is arranged above my macbook screen. I can get the DVD to play full screen on the top, and I have programs open below on my macbook screen, but anytime I click on the macbook screen, my DVD player leaves full screen and goes to a tiny window. I don't know how much sense that made. Any suggestions?

Front Row won't work at all like that. You can't use the "full screen" mode of the DVD Player application without it being the front-most application. But, you can set the DVD Player to "maximum size" with the window in the other screen and continue to work on the MacBook's screen.

Using monitor through tape deck

I want to use an LCD tv I have for an external video monitor. I have a Sony HVR-M15 deck connected by fire wire to my Mac. I have RCA, S-video and Component outputs on the deck. I can playback tapes on the external LCD monitor through the deck but how do I use it as a Full quality playback monitor in FCP?

Full Screen Playback Control Impossible Using Monitor 2 in Dual Monitor

Recent iTunes update (patch didn't fix) causes playback control to disappear when the cursor is on the monitor showing the movie. Controls reappear when cursor is moved to first monitor. User cannot get the cursor near the control panel. Must drop out of full screen playback to touch controls with the cursor.

Isn't there a SINGLE MONITOR option in COLOR? Use that.
I don't think two graphics cards will work with Color, as Color relies on the card when it comes time to render. Might mess it up, or not work.

How to exclude UNDO and temp tablespace using monitoring template

hi,
as per MOS note id 816920.1 undo and temp tablespace is excluded from monitoring starting version 11G onwards.It says that thresholds will need to be explicitly set if undo and temp needs to be monitored
we have grid 12C implemented now with monitoring templates which sets thresholds for all tablespaces. does it apply that thresholds to undo and temp too?? we are receiving alerts for undo and temp tablespaces and we wish to disable them. We have undo tablespaces with different names in many databases as per naming conventions for that line of business.
How can i exclude undo and temp tablespaces from monitoring using grid 12C monitoring templates. is there a way through templates where i can set thresholds of permanent tablespaces only???

In EM12c, go to the 'Enterprise' menu, then 'Job', then 'Library'. There should be an out-of-the-box job called "DISABLE TABLESPACE USED (%) ALERTS FOR UNDO AND TEMP TABLESPACES" that you can run against your database targets, and that job will disable database-generated alerts.
If a previous admin has set up EM12c-generated alerts for undo and temp, then yes, a monitoring template will take care of disabling them. Either remove those alerts from the existing monitoring template and apply them to your targets, or create a new monitoring template based on one database's current settings, remove those warning/critical thresholds for your undo and temp tablespaces, and apply it to your targets.

I can't use monitoring

I'm trying to record a song and as always, I use the monitor so I can't actually hear my voice on the heaphones. Turns out it's not working.
When I pick an effect like "deeper voice" or "helium breath" it DOES work but as soon as I select "no effects" (it's what I want), it doesn't work again.
Does anyone know what I should do? Because honestly, it doesn't make any sense!!

T400s doesn't remember to use monitor when resuming from sleep

I can connect a T400s to a monitor using a DisplayPort-to-DVI cable and set it to "Projector only" (via Fn+F7). But when I put the laptop to sleep and resume, the monitor (which goes to sleep after a few seconds when not used) remains asleep and the laptop screen is used. Get an error about "monitor not found" when switching to "Projector only" at that point, but unplugging and replugging the cable causes the display to switch back to the monitor.
When I use a Series 3 Mini Dock (with the same cable) the laptop doesn't remember to use the monitor, either, but at least I can switch to "Projector only" mode without having to first diconnect the cable.
Anyone else noticed this behavior?

There should be something that is called instant resume.

Reformat hard drive, but can't use monitor

I have an older iMac that I want to recycle or give away. The computer itself works, but the monitor does not, it remains dark. I am able to access the hard drive via target disc mode.
Before parting with it, I want to reformat the drive or do whatever it takes to remove all of my personal info, passwords, etc . . . But since I can't actually use the monitor, is there any way I can facilitae that?

Put it into target disk mode, hook it up to another computer, launch Disk Utility, and see if the HD is listed. If so, erase and reformat selecting zero out data.

Unwanted feedback using monitor feature

When ever I use the monitor feature for the guitar amp I get unwanted feedback and no guitar playing? Yet I can record in good quality with no feedback. why is this happening?
I use a Line 6 Pod X3 Live with an adaptor to connect guitar to ipad, clean setting on the Pod. I use the headphone jack to connect ipad to a Line 6 Spider 3 15 watt amplifier.

Actually I figured out that the ipad was recording from the mic. How do I get garageband to record from the dock connector?

Download Complete Notification doesn't use monitor on which Firefox is located itself

When Firefox itself is located on 2nd monitor, Download Complete Notification appears on 1st.
Meanwhile in FF 3.5.x that was fine and Notification was appearing on the proper monitor.

Can you Run Lion server on iMac and use monitor for another computer

With lion server you don't need a monitor and I figure why buy a mac mini when i could by a 27" imac and use it as a display and a mac mini running lion server.
I have been going over the scenarios and am trying to decide if I should buy the TB display or a second 27" imac. Eventually I will have 3 27" displays... but I want to run Lion Server off of one of the imacs... and use the display with the other imac.
do you know if it is possible to use the display of the imac for a mbp or another imac while running an operating system (lion Server) on the computer at the same time.
not sure if I made my self clear there or not.

Ryan as long as both the Mac Mini and iMac have Thunderbolt you could use the iMac as an external monitor for the Mac Mini. The current machines with Thunderbolt connections are 2011 iMacs, MacMini's, MacBook Air's & all MacBook Pros.

G3 not using monitor correctly

Hello, hopefully some of you have had this problem as well and can help me fix it. First of all, the beige g3 with the problem used to be my dad's and he has had problems with it in the past. The two that I can remember were that after installing 10.2, I think or maybe 10.1, he was not able to boot up into OS9, and he was never able to solve that problem. The other problem that he had, and is the one now, is that when he would power on the computer, it would get to a certain point in the start-up where it would power on the display, but the monitor would only stay on for half a second, then go back into stand-by mode. The computer sounds like it is starting up and running normally, and I am able to log in (just from memory, since there is no display on the monitor), but the computer refuses to display anything on the monitor. I cannot remember how my dad fixed this before, but I guess he might have needed to use a startup disk, which, unfortunately I do not have. I know for sure that the connection between the monitor and g3 is fine, and the monitor is good (I tried a different one, still no response), so I am at a loss of what to do next. It would be great if someone has an answer, but if there is nothing I can do without the system disk, could you tell me how to get a copy of one? Thanks, and I hope you can help (because my mom needs to get on the g3 so she can get her taxes done :))

If you can't find the original Beige G3 system disk or the OSX install disk, there still may be ways to get through this.
During start-up, hold the key combo command-option-p-r until you hear a total of three startup chimes, then let go the keys. That might get you an image. Starting while holding down the shift key may also work.
Other disks that will work as emergency start-up disks are those for disk utilities like DiskWarrior or TechTools.
BTW, I believe you need to have the original ADB keyboard for the key combo to work. I don't think it works from a USB keyboard.
Sounds to me like you need to consider a new PRAM battery. The Beige G3 is very needful of having a strong battery installed. Many of the manifestations of a dead or dying battery are start-up problems. Post back if you need help with the battery.
