Using 35mm Lense adapter (flipped images)
Guys, i use cameras with mini35 mm apadters that flips my image...
So, i see a few of ways to edit this material.
1.Create an apple script, that would flip every mov that i captured
P.S.: but this is not good idea, because, FCP doesnt understand any QT preview settings.
2.Use real time effect that calls "Flop" in FCP. (that needs more powerful MacPro - its better)
P.S.: this is more cool way, i used this with Full HD Uncompressed 8bit, MacPro Quad with Raid is nice one.
3.Rerender all of material (flipped by QT) using Compressor firstly, and then edit and work with.
P.S.: But! What codec to use? If we use Full HD Uncompressed as original, its okay, we can use Apple Pro Res HQ. But if we have for example, XDCam or DVCPro HD.... what codec to use? Uncompressed is not okay, because, there is no needs, that not gonna give us higher quality, just larger files...and recompression in the same codec would give us less quality then original...
Realy, hard way, but...what if normal, cinematographers cant shut without 35mm adapters?
what to do?
Maybe somebody knows better ways?
If it was me, I'd buy a flip unit for that adapter. Failing that, apply the flip-flop to ALL your footage after capture, render, export and reimport the flopped files and start from there. You might have to jump through some timecode hoops if you ever have to recapture (and reflop), but with a bit of care you should be OK.
Just a suggestion. The flip unit's the way to go if you do this all the time.
10 out of 10 for Jim's solution though!

I had a video file and I was trying to flip it to a format that would work with iMovie. It used to have the Quicktime image with it. So, I assume it was a QT file. But, somehow I've changed the file from a video to a folder. I've tried to undo the action. No luck. I wasn't running my Time Machine. So, I can't go back. Help. It's the only copy of this video.
I've tried to undo the action.
How?
Please detail ALL you have done so far in the way of troubleshooting? Need this info to avoid the been there done that scenarios.
it's the only copy of this video.
Where did you get the video from?
From the pic I noticed that the folder is 841.9mb. What's inside? Or what happens when you click on it? -
When I run the isight camera in xp via bootcamp by double clicking the isight icon under my computer a screen pops up allowing me to take pictures with it. However, the image is flipped horizontally meaning when I move to the left I can see the image of myself moving to the right. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.
Nope, printing to a PDF "unflips" the image. And I get the same behavior printing to both my Epson photo printer and a Samsung laser printer. Not a huge deal, if I un-rotate the image and print, it prints flipped. Tried it with a recent digital (not scanned) image and got the same behavior. I discovered the "problem" after scanning a B&W negative taken back in 1973. I use an Epson V600 scanner and normally flip and rotate as part of the scanning process; however the scanner had problems determining the edges of the 35mm frame since it is a picture of a window surrounded in black. I had to resort to using the marquee and manually selecting the frame to scan. Doing so doesn't allow you to flip and rotate during the scan, so you have to do that in Aperture.
Again, not a big deal as long as I know how to manage it. And I rarely flip images - only in the type of situation noted above. I almost would not have noticed it, except that I was comparing the inkjet print to a silver print I made of the negative back in the '70's.
Thanks for all the suggestions to try and narrow this down, but I am perplexed that you do not seem to get the same behavior. -
3.50mm to 6.35mm plug adapter, music in Midi Sequence for
Hey all,
I just bought the X-FI Platinum card to go with my Logitech Z-5500s. The problem is the platinum card only comes with ONE 3.50mm to 6.35mm plug adapter, and two are needed to connect to a headset's sound jack and microphone jack, on the X-FI I/O Dri've. Where can I shop online to buy another 3.50mm to 6.35mm plug adapter? Please link if possible.
Also, I've noticed that ever since I bought the sound card, the music that I have on the computer that are Midi Sequence Files won't play any sound. It would play on my old onboard nforce2 soundstorm. What is wrong? I have two files that are in this format so I'd like to hear them.
One last thing. Since I have the Logitech Z5500s and X-Fi platinum, what kind of wire should I need to buy to connect to my TV? and PS2? Thx) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ype=osi_widget is the type of adapter that you're looking for.
2) Click on Start->Settings->Control Panel->Sound and Audio devices->Audio Tab and from here set the MIDI music playback device to be your soundcard's synth A or synth B.
3) It depends on what outputs your TV's got. If it's got a headphone socket you could use 3.5 mm double ended cable to go to your Z5500s aux input from your TV's headphone socket. A better way to do it is to use a phono x 2 to stereo mini-plug cable
http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/wbrI...es_AudioCables
if your TV's got phono x 2 outputs at the back. You can plug this into your Z-5500s aux inputs.
You should really be asking this on the Logitech forums. -
Does iPhoto flip images horizontally or is it my camera?
As a Serious stamp collector, I am trying to scan all of my collection into iPhoto.
(Only because there is NO dedicated software for the Stamp Collector).
Problem is that images are flipped (Reversed) horizontally.
Rotate will only turn the image upside down.
I am forced to use (Preview, Photoshop, GraphicsConverter) to correct the pics.
This seems to be a camera problem, as iPhoto and iChat images are FLIPPED.
This fault could be easily fixed by simply adding a FLIP IMAGE BUTTON to iPhoto and iChat.
My system uses a:
1 yr old PowerBook 1.67 ghz 12in.
OS X 10.4.6
iPhoto v6.04
Sony DCR-HC40 video camera using the Firewire option and from MemoryStick. ( I Haven't tried SONY USB or S-video output)
Now that I wrote this post, I should give SONY a buzz and see what they recommend.
Any Input on this subject is appreciated.
PowerBook 1.67ghz Mac OS X (10.4.6)SSC:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You're taking pictures of the stamps for inclusion into iPhoto and they are coming out reversed, right? You're not actually scanning them.
Check all of the menus on the camera to see if there is an option to flip the image. It sounds like there should be one. Are normal photos flipped? Are you using a "macro" mode on the camera? Check those out to see if the answer is in there somewhere.

How do you flip image Horizontally
I'm sure I'm looking right at it but can't find out how to flip an image Horz. I see rotate, but not flip.
thks for helpYou can't flip horizontally in iPhoto. What I do is to export to the desktop and then open with the contextual menu item QuickView (you can get it at VersionTracker.com), rotate and save, and then import back into iPhoto. If you have a different 3rd party application that have flip images you could do that, even using it from within iPhoto by setting it up as your editor of choice for that particular item.

ADF mobile: how do I upload a file using the rest adapter api
Hello,
I want to upload files using the rest adapter. How would I upload files such as pdfs, images (png, jpg ..) etc.. Some code would be appreciated.
Thanks,Thanks Frank,
The back-end is functioning in the following way (using Jersey and handling input streams):
@POST
@Path("/uploadFile")
@Consumes(MediaType.MULTIPART_FORM_DATA)
public Response uploadFile(@FormDataParam("file") InputStream uploadedInputStream, @FormDataParam("file") FormDataContentDisposition fileDetail) {
String uploadedFileLocation = "D:\\temp\\uploadsTest\\" + fileDetail.getFileName();
// save it (this function reads from the input stream)
writeToFile(uploadedInputStream, uploadedFileLocation);
String output = "File uploaded to : " + uploadedFileLocation;
return Response.status(200).entity(output).build();
Is there a way to send data over a stream?
Thanks, -
Flip Image - HTML code for InDesign
I am trying to create a flipping image in a digital edition and I found from the cookbook that there is an HTML code.
The problem is that when I am clicking on the attachment file "Flip_HTML.zip", appears a white page with a message FILE NOT FOUND.
Is there any other solution for that?
Thanks
GeorgiaThanks Liam. I am a newbie at all of this and decided to use the widget contact form in muse which has an image verification module but when I test it I get a message that it has to be supported business catalyst captcha module so thought there was a html code for it.
Thanks for coming back to me so quickly -
Flipping images produces a slight distortion
I use the flip image feature occasionally but I noticed an unwanted side effect. An image that had been scaled to 34.1% of normal size proportionally changed to 34.1% x -34.2% after the transformation. It doesn't have any real visual effect, but it does set off false alarms in my preflight for a non-proportionally scaled image.
It's always nice to preflight a document and see zero errors, as opposed to seeing a bunch of error that are (problably, maybe, hopefully) harmless.
Any way to flip an image without triggering these false alarms? I could go into Photoshop and make a new file, but the resulting file clutter isn't a perfect solution either.
Thanks,

Photoshop freezes when using Auto-Blend Layers - Stack Images
I used to have CS5 on my computer, after which I used the CS6 trial, and I never had any problems when stacking images using Auto-Blend Layers -> Stack Images. However, I recently purchased a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and after uninstalling the old PS versions and installing Cloud, Photoshop freezes every time I try to stack images.
My computer has very good specs, runs Windows 7, and both the OS and PS are up to date.
Why is PS freezing? What can I do to fix the problem?Sure, here you go:

Using a variable in "arrayTerminatedBy" clause while using a file adapter
Hi All,
How can read a file of sample shown below using a file adapter.
ABC|20081010|
2008|xxxxxxx|
2007|yyyy|
2009|zzzzzzz|
3|20081010|
first line is the header
last line is footer
middle portion is the body
'3' in the footer is the total no of record count in the body
I am able to read the header and body.
The problem i am facing is; when it is reading the footer it is treating the footer as a record in the body and is throwing an error stating - expected the format as "yyyy"
I have to use "arrayTerminatedBy" to indicate the end of the body. But that terminating field is a varying field. How can i use this variable field in the "arrayTerminatedBy" clause.
Can any one help in reading this file
Thanks in advance

Edited by: user10308218 on 11-Oct-2008 02:24See if this helps, I haven't tested it but it will give you a hint in how to achieve it. As you can see I use the startsWith command. I'm not sure how to handle your detail as it seems to start with different elements every time.
cheers
James

After ios 8 update I can no longer play music through my car. I have a 2012 Nissan Rogue - which has its own cable made to use with iPhone 4 - I use a apple adapter to converst to use with 5. Has been working fine up until update. Is there a fix for this? The car does not have usb
Here I come to save the daaaaaaaaaay!!!
Had the same issue with my Nissan Rogue 2011.
This listed below will fix it...
Go to General > Restrictions > CarPlay -- Make sure Carplay is DISABLED. (The new IOS 8 enables this on default)
Go to General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
The Nissan Rogue radio system was never designed to work with CarPlay. By default, CarPlay feature comes enabled when you install IOS 8. Suckz, right?
You're very welcome! Have a great day!

When I connect my iPad2 to my tv using the AV adapter I can hear sound for everything else except movies. I can hear tv episodes, music, YouTube videos, etc. anyone have an idea of how to fix this issue? Thank you for your help in advance.
Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).
If you want to copy all the infor from an old iPod touch to the inew iPod see:
