I'm not able to reproduce this. I wonder if it is being caused by a plugin or add-on.

Mac could receive texted messages from net10 LG800 phone...
Text messages came in as email and could contain pictures as well. The "from" address was either [email protected] or [email protected] Phone was recently replaced with a Net10 LG306G and when text message now comes in, I only see "you have a picture mail" but no subject or content. The "from" address is now [email protected] All messages were sent to my regular email address and not a cell number. I recently had a data transfer from my older mac to my newer one. After the transfer I logged into my new account and opened up my GarageBand. It worked perfectly fine, however when I logged into my old account with all my older data that I just transferred over, I could not open my GarageBand files and there is an error that states "GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song".If anyone could please help me with this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank You!
When you transferred your data from your old mac, you may have accidentally transferred an older GarageBand version and either overwritten your newer version, or your old account still has the old GarageBand icon in the Dock.
Search with SpotLight, if you have more than one Garageband version on your new Mac (type "GarageBand" into the SpotLight search field). Does it list more than one GarageBand version? Then delete the older GarageBand.app.
What GarageBand version have you been using at your old mac, and what is the version on your new mac? If it has been bought recently, it should have come with GarageBand '11.

I just updated to Numbers 3.0.1. In the old version if I started to type a name that was already in my spreadsheet (in another cell), it would automatically fill that name in. That is not happening in the new version. Am I missing something to get that to happen? Thanks
If you frequently enter repeating values in a column and don't want to type the same text over and over again, instead of just waiting for Apple's updates why not try using an enhanced feature in Numbers 3 that in many (probably most) situations is even better than "auto-complete"?
Numbers 3 has an enhanced Pop-Up Menu functionality that helps prevent typos or capitalization inconsistencies from creeping in and messing up your data. It is also much more efficient than auto-complete in Numbers for iOS, should you ever want to sync to an iPad or iPhone and do data entry there.
Pop-Up Menu is much enhanced over what it was in Numbers 2.3, and is easy to set up:
Select the whole column or range before formatting as Pop-Up Menu and your existing values in that column or range will pre-populate a menu automatically:
Then you can remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:

Should you ever want to take your Numbers with you and do data entry on an iPad or iPhone, in a touch interface, pop-ups are much more efficient than typing the first few letters of items. You can scroll with ease through a list of dozens of items to make a pick. Anybody using Numbers cross-platform should favor Pop-Up so they can use their documents efficiently for data input on the go, which can be a productivity booster.

i'm trying to use a madcatz controller on the mac but it turns on for 2 seconds and turns off. the system profiler picks it up as a xbox 360 gamepad but says its not been configured. how can i allow my self use this with my games!

I'm a little peed-off with Microsoft on this. The original wireless controller I have doesn't work either since the cable I'm using is 'just' the charge and play cable, so a direct connection to my Mac won't work with this cable. It's a cable for god's sake. Why on EARTH put any limitations on this!?!?
Next I learn I need an additional USB wireless receiver from Microsoft to get my original 360 controller to talk to my Mac. As I certainly don't want to fork any more microsoft dollars on this, this is not an option.
Next I think, yes! I have a MadCatz 360 wired USB controller. This should surely do the trick just plugging it in and the way I go. But oh no, for some reason I plug my MadCatz Xbox360 controller in, it flashes a few times then switches off and can't be turned on again.
The System Profiles recognizes it as a MadCatz 360 device controller but that is about it, but the ontroller software I download for the System Prefs (360Controller, USBOverdrive etc) don't even recognize the controller as being plugged in.
What the **** Is The Microsoft Deal with all of this!?!?
PS: Oh, and I forgot to mention, there are No drivers for device 4716 that I can find on the MadCatz website, or am I going blind?

When Creative Cloud updated a few days ago (Win7) it reported I had no installed apps.
In Lightroom I keep getting messages that a new version is available. Installed it from CC and it installed without error, CC shows I installed it, but it simply fails to run.
How do I get CC to find apps installed under the previous version?
And how do I get Lightroom CC to run?
PeterI still don't know how to get CC to find that I have Photoshop CC installed, but running Creative Cloud, going to Preferences and signing out, then signing in again got Lightroom CC to work.
Since Photoshop CC is still working despite apparently not being installed things are now OK, at least for the moment. But I'm not feeling at all happy with Adobe. -

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

A Power Mac is incapable of being upgraded to Mavericks. It is a PPC Mac which can only run versions of OS X up to 10.5.8 and no higher. Any version of OS X higher that 10.5.8 requires an Intel processor to run.
Does the iMac meet the hardware requirements for Mavericks?
