Using 6030 in USA

I have 6030 phone. I went to NY, USA. But, my phone didn't work. Does any one know if this model works in USA? Should I need to do some settings to use the phone in USA? T-Mobil, as service provider in USA sells this model with their sim card.

The 6030 is only a dual-band phone.
Models sold in Europe and Asia would have the 900/1800 frequencies, and those sold in the Americas would have the 850/1900 frequencies.
In order to use a phone supplied in Europe or Asia in the US, you need a tri- or quad-band model.

If you're talking about buying the phone in the US, forget it. There are NO unlocked iPhones sold in the US and no US iPhone can be officially unlocked. Thus, it doesn't really matter what it costs.

If officially unlocked, yes. Bear in mind, if you purchase the phone in Saudi Arabia, your warranty/support will only be valid there, & you won't have FaceTime. FaceTime is banned, by law, on all iPhones sold in Sausi Arabia, & there's no way to add it back.

All iphones sold from official sources in Hong Kong are unlocked & will work on any GSM carriers network with the appropriate activated sim, including the USA. Note however, warranty & support are country specific & the phone would have to be returned to Hong Kong for any and all warranty & support issues. Make sure you purchase from an official source, non-official sources hack the phone to unlock it(their prices are often cheaper) and this will lead to nothing but problems.

It should work as long as the prongs adapter are adapted to the outlet configuration.

How to setup USE Tax for USA

Hi guys
We recently got new scenario where we need to calculate USE Tax for interstate purchasing scenario. Basically the interstate vendor is tax exempt but we need to accrue and remit to government ourselves.
Just looking for some tips for the setup. I guess a new Tax Code is required but what about pricing procedure? (this tax is not added to PO total as we do not pay it to vendor.
We use TAXUSX procedure for USA.
Any help with experience is greatly appreciated.

It is generally advised to use a external tax engine for calculation of US Use and Sales tax because tax is calculated based Ship to Ship from locations and if a product is taxable or not. Within US tax is caluclated for multiple levels like state, city, town and county. Only external tax systems can handle such complex split. If you have a very small business then you can also configure TAXUSJ tax procedure which is jurisdiction based. you need to assign the %age for every jurisdiction. I still say that use external tax engones like vertax, fabware or Sales tax office. External tax systems use TAXUSX tax procedure.

IPad 2 International Use between Switzerland & USA

I am buying an iPad 2 Wifi + 3G (AT&T) for my former exchange student for his birthday to use when he goes back and forth to visit between Switzerland and California. Will he have any problems using it? He has WiFi at home in Switzerland. He has an unlocked iPhone 4 too he uses in Switzerland (if that makes any difference maybe for tethering when he travels?). I have the option of mailing him the iPad to his home in Sw or giving it to him when he arrives in California for his birthday in July as I'm not sure where he should set it up when he gets it. I'm confused because it is for use on AT & T network so that will be great when he is in the USA. But what happens when he goes back to Switzerland with it? I don't understand how that works. Thank you in advance for anyone with help or tips!

Thank you for your comments. I have about 5 or 6 German's and Austrian's and about 10 or 12 Japanese I have hosted over the years since I live in a University town and it is common here to host. We all visit each other back and forth. They are my adopted kids so they are treated very well. They treat me like a King when I come to visit them. It has been very rewarding..I highly suggest it to most people. It has provided great friendships and a terrific way to travel and experience other cultures since they take me to places I wouldn't normal get to see. It made me appreciate how many wonderful things there are in the USA through their eyes when I have taken them on trips to see our great country. If an iPad adds to that experience, then it is a small price to pay for how much they have enriched my life and I hope theirs as well.
