Using a component to update whole site

I have a largeish site created in GoLive (CS, v7.0.2) and I need to update the menu site-wide. The menu exists in a component. I've updated the component and need to apply the update to all pages.
As a precaution I applied the update to just one page. The old content is deleted and the new inserted, all OK, but the paths to links to the css and to images have all been changed - they're now preceded by ../web-data/Components/
so that for example media/image.gif becomes ../web-data/Components/media/image.gif
Can anyone advise how to correct that behaviour? I've looked through Preferences and all the menus available when I'm in the site mode but can't find any way to control the problem.

How do I execute "wget" to archive whole sites for offline browsing

That sure sounds like my post. I was going to respond with my alias:
alias getsite='wget -k -r -N --random-wait -np'
Which looks a whole lot like yours.
Yes. This is definitely in the Terminal. It is located in /Applications/Utilities.
The alias command above is a line in my .bash_profile file in my home directory. It cans all sorts of similar commands to do cool stuff in the terminal. Once you add the above line to your .bash_profile file, open a new terminal window, and type getsite http://www.apple.com and sit back and let it work.
The other day I was travelling and had a very slow connection. I had to adjust the command like this ' getsite --reject=bz2,mov,gz,dmg,swf http://osxbook.com/book/bonus/' so that is wouldn't try to download huge files.
You don't want to use curl. The curl program is more low-level and is more suited to software development and testing. If you are just starting to learn the terminal, use wget for now. Later, when you learn about standard output redirection, you can try curl.
I always do 'cd ~/Sites' before using wget. Then, I can just go to 'http://mymachine.local/~jdaniel/www.apple.com' to view archived sites.

Mass updating supplying site - WRF3

Currently user can not create/update Merchandise caterogy & Price list to Site in WB30, and can not use filter/search for site in WB30. Update a Muse site, without uploading the whole site

So I'm about to create a site for a client that will be maintained by me, however, I'm worried about updating it. With the last few sites, which have only had about 5-7 pages, I've simply made the changes in Muse, export the whole site to HTML and upload it to the web, the whole site, everytime. With this new site, there will be a lot of pages and I really don't want to have to export and upload the whole site, everytime I make a change.
Is there an easy way to do this?
Currently, the client hosts their own site via GoDaddy, so I just log in via FTP and put the files there when I'm done editing.

You can use the File -> Upload to FTP host option in Muse to upload your changes directly from Muse to your host (Godaddy).
When you use that option, you also have the choice to either choose to upload the whole site, or only the modified pages. However, if the modifications were made to a master page, then all the pages to which that master is applied, will be uploaded again. If the thief enabled activation lock on the device, then there is nothing that can be done. Only the password for the Apple ID that it is locked with can disable activation lock.

Doing the following wouldn't hurt either:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

I cannot see the iWeb files uploaded with the FTP
program.
I tried using shareware HTML Creator 3.5.1 instead

iWeb. It provided me with an index.html which did
upload. I also uploaded the ten jpg's separately-
which did upload . However, when I type the URL

my browser I do not get the website but the names
of
the JPG's appear.
It looks like your jpgs need to be all in a folder
called Marlene Pics, because that's where they were
when you made your main page.

If you are going to use iWeb, I'd recommend you use a
different host. It's not simple and easy and unless
you use their own stuff, and even then....

Would I be better off forgetting about iWeb and just trying to do an index.html (with HTML Creator3.5.1) and then uploading the jpgs in a folder?
Am I right in thinking that the "essence" of a website is a correct index.html and the jpgs?

When using ftp it is wanting to upload my whole site every time a make a page correction

When using ftp to upload it is uploading every page again even when only one page has been modified. This also happens when using preview in browser.
My site does not have a lot of pages but it does have JW Players embeded in them along with the Ecwid store.
It used to upload fast but since switching to 2014 it has come to a crawl

No I have it to "Only Modified files" but it will still upload everything
everytime.

Navigation layer positioning shifting when used as component

Hello, really hoping someone can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have a site with a drop down nav that I made using layers. After having the client change the nav a few times I realized what a pain it is to update each page on the site with the pages, so I decided to try to make a separate file for the nave and place it as a component into each page so I could update just one page and see the changes across the whole site.
The problem is that the nav file I made looks correct on it's own, but when I place it the positioning shifts to the left and doesn't line up with the page anymore. The positioning seems to be fixed when the page size changes (not sure what that's called). Anyway I can make this work?

can you add a view to a public part? The only way how you can embed a view from a different DC is through a window of the WD component (we are not talking about DC now). A window is the visible part of a Web Dynpro component. It is represented by the so-called Interface view locatated in the WD explorer under
Project->Component->Component Interface->Interface Views.
Each Interface view has a window (Project->Component->Windows) with the same name in which you can embed the view you want to expose. The Interface view also can have in- and outbound plugs.
Lets say WD A has Component usage to WD B. You can navigate from a view in WD A to the Interface View of WD B. This interface view can also have a outbound plug.
Because all this stuff is visual it is a bit awkward to explain. Maybe this helps already otherwise I will provide more information.

Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

What's the easiest way to update my site regularly?

What's the easiest way to update my site? I update with new content every month, sometimes more often. (I don't use .mac) When I do, I delete my whole site, then have to upload the whole site with it's updates (the main file along with the index file).
Is there a way to only update, let's say, ONE page? And if so, will I still have to delete that page?

When I update my site, do all the assests have to upload again?

I have created a website that includes music. However, if I update the site, is there a way to update just the revisions so that the previous content does not have to be reloaded? I find it takes so long each time I re-publish, so I assume that everything (all music and pictures) are being loaded all over again. I thought there might be someplace that all the music and pictures could be saved in a central location rather than having to spend so much time each time I make changes.

iWeb 09 only updates the changed content.
So if you do not change your music but just some text on the page or move the position of the music file on the page, only the page will be uploaded.
But if you re-publish then the whole site is uploaded.
If that does not fit your situation, then you can store your music separately on the server and create links to the files.
Either by pasting the <object> code in a HTML Snippet or a link to a page with your tune and then use the <iframe> in the HTML Snippet.
Both options are independent of iWeb.

How can I make my whole site in fullscreen (API) mode, not just the opening page?

I'm building a site that consists only of static pages, no scrolling, and I want the whole site to be in fullscreen mode. I know it's not good manners on the internet to have a whole site in this mode but it's a site with art and music and I really have a reason to have it this way.
I've been doing a lot of searching and I've got the fullscreen API to work for me, but just on that one particular page. I want it to stay fullscreen even when I go to another page on the site.
Maybe I've been doing this wrong somehow and the script is supposed to work that way but I've not been able to make it work.

The thing is I designed the site and tested it on a lot of different screen resizer plugins and it looked good.
What I did not count on was the space you lose with the dock. The content just gets too small on a 1366x768 for example.
Nancy, with "This allows content to fit the available viewport.", you mean the browser window? I've already built it that way.
Jon, ok so I was right about the API not working on whole sites then but it does have the the opputunity to make a single page fullscreen though.
Though I want the fullscreen mode on IE as well, I don't think the interface elements take that much space on windows computers and
maybe I won't have to use fullscreen there. This site is also not designed to work on mobiles so no issue there.
I have been thinking about some alternatives:
1. Some kind of workaround that you mention Nancy, but I haven't found any.
2. Have the visitors push a key to get into fullscreen but it seems that there is no equivalent to the F11 on mac, just different shortcuts for
different browsers. Or have I missed something here?
3. Make the next page open up in an iframe but it just slows down the loading of the page.
