i was wondering if its possible to use a different computer to put some new songs into my ipod without losing all my previous music. i ask this question because a friend of mine who used my computer to put some songs from my library to her ipod lost all her previous music and i dont want that happening to me. Any input would be greatly appreciated

it should work if you plug your ipod into the computer u usually use and then select manually manage your songs. then plug into other computer

In order to use a different computer than what the device was originally synced with, you would need to use a 3rd party application to back the information up, prior to syncing with iTunes.
If you try to sync on a different computer than usual, you will get a message stating that it will wipe all data out and start from scratch... and it will erase everything.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

the iTunes app on the iPad is updated when the iOS is updated. What version of iOS is on your iPad?
The message you are getting is about updating iTunes is for your computer, not the iPad. The current version of iTunes is version 11.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

I have a computer back at home which i originally used with my Iphone 5. Im at college right now and i just bought a laptop, downloaded Itunes 11, and have some music i want to put on to my Iphone but i cant. I just realized that you cannot put music into your Iphone without the original computer you synced it with. Even though i have authorized this laptop; this laptop being the second authorized, cant seem to put music into my Iphone. I then tried to check off the Manually manage music and videos box and it prompted me by saying i have to delete everything in my Iphone and get it synced with the itunes on my laptop in order to put in music and videos. I dont want to do this. Does anyone know another way around this???? I know with an Ipod you dont go through this kind of crap. Any kind of help would be appreciated! My IOS for my iphone5 is 6.1.4. I dont know if this effects anything.

There's the easy way and the hard way. The easy way is to copy the backup that you should have kept of your old computer to the new computer's iTunes (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527). Then just sync the iPhone. The hard way is to extract the data from your phone. HT1535 How do I put music into iTunes that is on my iPod touch? I have music on my iPod touch that is not in my iTunes library. I do NOT want to loose these songs when I sync to iTunes.

Recently I had to replace my computer with a new one. The old hard drive died and there was no way of retrieving any of my data from the dead computer. When I downloaded iTunes onto my new computer there were several songs missing in my iTunes library. I was able to retrieve most through purchased music, however there was some music that I had downloaded from other sources and that music is still on my iPod touch. How do I put music into my iTunes library that is on my iPod touch but not in the iTunes library? I do not want to loose the music on my iPod when I sync to iTunes library.
