Using a different line's upgrade
is there anyone who has the family package and is using one lines upgrade, but putting your number on the phone. has anyone done this yet? was att able to switch the numbers on the sim cards? just want to know if it was successsful or not.

Sadly, I had the total opposite result. I called AT&T and spent a long time switching phone/sim associations. However, when I went to activate the iphone 4 I got an error message telling me the sim card was already activated and that I need a new sim card in order to activate. A call to after hours support led nowhere (except the conclusion that I need a new sim card). Where do I stand now? Looks like my wife will have the 3Gs tonight, and I have no phone until I can get a new micro sim tomorrow. The after hours rep said the stores would have micro sims, but who knows how many, etc. What a disaster. At least I can marvel at the screen resolution while staring at the "connect to itunes" screen. Faaaaaaaaaantastic.

Switching an upgrade to a different line
I have a family plan with 5 lines
One is eligible for an upgrade, and I want to switch it to another line to get an upgrade
So, Line A is eligible for an upgrade, I want to put it on Line B
Line A was activated 2 years ago in August, so next month, my 2 year contract will be up with that line
Can I close that line? I know when you do an upgrade you resign a contract, but does the contract signing now apply to Line B since that is the one I used it on?
Or do I have to keep Line A open for another 2 years and just not use it?

(if any of the above makes sense to anyone)When you "transfer" an upgrade (I use that term loosely, I'll explain this later) you are signing a new contract on the line that is eligible, not the line that is using the phone. The reason I quoted transfer, is because you can't actually transfer an upgrade. All you do is purchase the phone on the eligible line, and use it on a different line. You don't even have to be on the same account to do this.
Also, when you're eligible to upgrade is not when your contract is up. You are eligible to upgrade at 20 months into your 2 year contract. You can cancel the line after completing the full 24 months. Otherwise you will have to pay an ETF.
So basically, purchase the phone you want on line A (the eligible line) and this will extend line A's contract another 2 years. When you get the phone, activate it on line A first (this is to accept the terms of service you sign) and then you can activate the phone on line B (the one that is not yet eligible) and line B's contract will be the same as it was before. When line B becomes eligible for an upgrade, you can use that for line A if needed.
If you want to use line A's upgrade for line B, and then cancel line A, you will pay the ETF. $350 for smartphones, or $175 I believe for feature phones. -
Upgrading EDGe line and transferring phone to a different line
Hey guys, I currently have one line on the EDGE program that is eligible for an edge upgrade - however, when I upgraded that line to the edge program back in Feb 2014, I did it for use on a different line on my account (basically used another line's upgrade) Now I'm wanting to use the edge upgrade again for the same 2nd line I previously used it for, and am wondering how to go about doing that. I specifically wanted to do the purchase online, which is what I'm leary about - whether or not I could use the upgrade for a different line if purchased online. I really don't have the time to go to a Verizon retailer, considering all the Verizon stores in my area consistently have wait times of atleast an hour (when I last upgraded in-store, I was there a total of 3 1/2 hours). Hoping someone can walk me through how I would go about this transaction.

Since the last 3 upgrades (thru Firefox 7.0) I can't print a web page. This is true using 2 different printers. I have an iMac 10.6.8.
Just read that the default memory storage on FF is set to 5 mbs. You can up that by clicking on tools, advanced and overriding the default and set it to 50 mbs (if you use lots of tabs) or 10 mbs (if you use just a few).
I open a blank tab and clear the cache periodically, while I am working. I can have several tabs open and watch videos on Youtube, by doing this. Have you cleared your cache?
Since I have an older computer, I've also used CCleaner for years. I use it often, but always before signing off. You can get it free...search for CCleaner, download from Pirifoam free. I didn't change any of the settings and it clears crap left behind from uninstalling programs, clears all browsers at once of: cookies, history, passwords, etc. I love it!
I had freezing, before using the "open blank tab, clear the cache" thing. Now I have no problems. Plus, as I said...you can change the default memory usage for FF and that should help too.

UPGRADING USING A DATA LINE? LOOK HERE!!
If you're using a data card's upgrade to get the iPhone, if you go to Apple.com and check your eligibility, It'll tell you that you don't have the right voice plan, but if you go to Verizonwireless.com, it'll say that you are eligible to upgrade to the iPhone. None of us are sure if the upgrade system will support using a data cards upgrade will work. If you just want to make sure, all you have to do is activate an old phone on your data line and it will change it to the $9.99 secondary line plan, and then it will say you're eligible for an upgrade on both sites. It won't let you do it online, you have to call, and if you're under a contract with your data card still, you can't change it to a voice plan. But if you just want to make sure you get yours at 3am, I would suggest activating an old phone under your data cards line so that the system recognizes it as a regular phone, guaranteed to work.

If you're reading a DDF file, it will always read back a full block of data, so you want to have stored the data at one sample/block. One way to do that is to read it back and write is out as ASCII, so that DASYLab loses the block size context.

So two of our lines in our family plan are up in September and the third in April. My question is this the first two lines are eligible for upgrade if I use the upgrade from one of these on the line that is up in April can I then cancel the one line that the upgrade was for orginally. Basically this, Line one upgrade goes to line two then cancel line one.

Filter expression producing different results after upgrade to 11.1.1.7

We recently did an upgrade and noticed that on a number of reports where we're using the FILTER expression that the numbers are very inflated. Where we are not using the FILTER expression the numbers are as expected. In the example below we ran the 'Bookings' report in 10g and came up with one number and ran the same report in 11g (11.1.1.7.0) after the upgrade and got two different results. The data source is the same database for each envrionment. Also, in running the physical SQL generated by the 10g and 11g version of the report we get different the inflated numbers from the 11g SQL. Any ideas on what might be happening or causing the issue?

As the "Won Opportunity" logical column is mapped to multiple LTS it appears the OBI 11 uses a different alogorthim to determine the most efficient table to use in the query generation vs 10g. I'll need to spend some time researching the impact to adding a 'sort' to the LTS. I'm hoping that there's a way to get OBI to use similar logic relative to 10g in how it generated the table priority.

Switching iPhone 5 to a different line?
Hello All!
I have a quick question before the phone comes (hopefully in the next few days!)
My sister's line was eligible for an upgrade, so I used her upgrade to get the iPhone 5. She wants my 4S, so I was hoping once the iPhone 5 arrives, to trade our phones around (while keeping our numbers). Do I need to call Verizon to activate the iPhone 5 on a line? Or is this something I can do online?
I just don't want to turn the phone on and have her line get disconnected (as she is in another town at school.) I just want to switch the iPhone 5 for my current phone once it arrives. I'd prefer an online method, but any advice you have is welcomed! Thanks!I called cust svc for my new 5 today. I wanted to do as you said and activate it on a different line. I was told with the new nanosim (sp?) card this not possible. Apparently when I preordered my 5 it came with the new sim card programmed for the number I upgraded from and if I tried to activate it on the line I wanted to it would say dead sim card.
My two options were to activate it on the line I upgraded and then 24 hours later switch the phones around or go to the store and they would give me a new sim card. I went to the local store and they said they were not shipped these new sim cards and therefore the only option I had was to activate the phone and wait 24 hours. So tomorrow night I will call or go online and switch the phones... -
Can I activate the iPhone5 on a different line without a SIM-switch?
I've been searching for the answer to "Do I have to have a SIM-switch?" for awhile now. There are already over a dozen threads and different people keep giving different answers. To complicate things, even Verizon Customer Service is providing what appears to be drastically different answers. To help anyone else who may be wondering about this, I've complied a list of the Verizon Rep answers below:

Here is a different Verizon support rep saying that if you used MyVerizon to transferred an upgrade no additional steps are necessary and the phone will activate for the line that the upgrade was switched to. However, she says that if you didn't utilize the 'transfer upgrade' function, then contrary to Chauncey's answer that you can activate on any line via vzw.com, Vanessa reports that you must obtain a new SIM card in order to upgrade a different line.

Sorry about the delay in our response. I know the information regarding the iPhone 5's sim card is confusing so let me go ahead and clear that up for you. The activation process for the sim card depends on how you ordered the phone. If you order the iPhone for line A but wanted it active on line B and you selected the "Transfer Upgrade" option when you processed the order, you will not need to complete any additional steps. Just power on the phone, activate it and you'll be all set. The phone will be programed to the correct line.
If you ordered the iPhone 5 for line A but really want to activate it on line B and did not choose "Transfer Upgrade" you will have to complete the following steps.
1. Activate the phone on line A.
2. Remove the sim card.
4. Complete the ESN change to activate iPhone and sim card on line B by going to www.vzw.com/myverizon or by calling our customer service department at 1-800-922-0204.
6. Re-insert the sim card and activate phone B the next day. (This steps needs to be completed because the sim card is going to be reused)

How to download data into one cell of excel in different lines
Hi All,
My Report downloads data from R/3 to excel. Now one particular field contains multiple lines, which i needs to download into different lines into that particular cell(of excel). how can i do this.
I found one method for this and that is cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline.But this is in abap version 6.0.
But i am working in version 4.6c. do we have any method or anything that meets my requirement in 4.6c.

How to use two different versions of Firefox at the same time on Snow Leopard?
I recently upgraded to Firefox 4.0 on my 27" iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.7.
Previously, I was using Google's "Page Speed" along with Firebug in Firefox 3.6.15 to optimize images in my web pages, and to find other areas to optimize.
Page Speed is not yet compatible with Firefox 4.0. I wrote to Google about this some time ago -- no answer yet.
If I run Firefox 3.6.15 in order to use Page Speed, I run into a few problems afterward when I start using Firefox 4.0 again, since they both use the same "Firefox" folder in my "Application Support" folder.
How can I set it up so that I can have two separate "Firefox" folders in my "Application Support" folder?
Or is there an easier way to use two different versions of Firefox simultaneously, even if one has extensions and/or plug-ins installed which are not compatible with the other version?

How can I use two different ToolTipUIs?

I want to use two different ToolTipUIs depending (in my case) on the JRadioButton that the Cursor is hovering over. For some JRadioButtons, I want to use the default ToolTipUI, and for others I wish to display a large amount of text over multiple lines. It seems to me that this is not easily possible as ToolTipManager uses the same JTooltip for each component, so setting the UI for JToolTip will affect every tool-tip-text.
Does anyone know of a simple method to achieve this goal? Or can someone please correct me if my understanding is wrong?!
And yes, I do realise that I could just use the multi-line ToolTipUI for all tooltips.
