Using a different mapping for USB keyboard connected to MacBook

I just picked up an Apple keyboard and I'm now using my Macbook in clamshell mode, connected to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. I love the Apple keyboard, but one problem I've run into is that there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to apply a different keyboard mapping to the USB keyboard. For example, I'd love to set Spaces to the F5 key when it's running in clamshell mode, but I still want it set to the F8 key on my MacBook when I'm on the move. Keep in mind I'm using a mid-2007 MacBook, so the keyboard layout isn't the same as new MacBooks and keyboards (http://is.gd/3fuq).
Does anyone know of any way to load up separate keyboard mappings based on the presence of a USB keyboard? I'd love to do it through the system if possible, but if it's not I'm willing to revert to 3rd party software to handle it if it's solid.

I work in two languages (Italian and English). The keyboard on my MacBook is English. When not on the road, I plug in an Apple Italian keyboard. Using System Preferences I always keep the input menu quickly available from the menu bar, allowing me to instantly switch from Italian to English.
I have mapped various F keys using the Mac's own options for Exposé and Dashboard, and then other keys I have mapped with OneKey (opening frequently used applications). OneKey is rock-solid. and I've been using it for several years without the slightest hitch. There are other apps that do similar things but I've found them less reliable.
With a bit of care, you can get the same mappings to work with both keyboards although of course on the MacBook, you have to press Fn + the F key. On the full size keyboard you only need to press the F key.
Works well for me. I never open my most important apps by going to the dock. I just hit an F key.

With the AlwaysOn listener you should have a single DNS name to connect to regardless of which cluster node is active. Are you using the listener service? If not, please refer to the link below.

I have rejoined the iPhone community, not with one iPhone but with two. My wife agreed to move from the unenlightened!
I have set up both under my apple account and want to keep it that way. But I do not want iMessages going to both phones. I would like separate message queues but share all apps and other purches from the store.
I have created a separate AppleID for her but under Settings>Message>Receive At (it currently says 2 addresses) > ... will not allow me to change the current eMail address and when I add hers (her appleid) it errors out. The only thing I can do in the Apple ID field is to manage my account and not change it to hers.
How can I have 2 iPhones (and my iPad) on the same account but have separate identies?

I'm working on a bilingual user manual, Italian - Russian.
I need to use a different alphabet for the bullet list in every language.
By default indesing use the english alphabet "A B C D E F G H I J K.." and I need to change in "A B C D E F G H I L M N..."
Can anyone help me?

I use the World Tools plugin for InDesign from in-tools.com to change my "numbered" lettered lists in translation from Latin script to Arabic script, Korean numbering (either Chosung or Ganada, thanks Harbs I've used both! ), even circle numbering. Many different kinds of numbering/lettering are available to World Tools users. However, World Tools for CS4 doesn't offer every alphabet or abjad or syallabary for lettered lists, only some complex-script ones. I dunno about World Tools for CS5, but I've found in-tools to be really responsive to feature requests.
That being said, it might make more sense to do this without automatic bulleting & numbering. I'd rather set up my own hanging indents and key in each Cyrillic letter myself - iff I knew that the number of entries in the list was not going to change.

The DAQmxSetDigitalPowerUpStates function takes four arguments: deviceName,
channelNames, state, and "...". The "..." indicates
that you can include additional channelNames and state arguments. The final
channelNames and state pair must be followed by a NULL argument. For example,
to set port0 to a default low state use:
DAQmxSetDigitalPowerUpStates("Dev3",
"Dev3/port0/line0:7", DAQmx_Val_Low, NULL)
If you want to set multiple ports with the same function call, include their
channelNames and state arguments after the first port's arguments and follow it

Deleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud. In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens. Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device. It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days. When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question. However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days. When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload). Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this. If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account.

IMac Won't Boot With USB Keyboard Connected

We have a suite of 10 iMacs (10,1 - 21.5 inch), but one of them will not boot and has issues coming out of sleep while a USB keyboard is plugged in.
Have tried swapping the keyboard with another iMac - the other iMac still boots but the problem iMac continues to play up.
Tried plugging the mouse into the iMac's USB instead of the keyboard's.
Tried SMC reset, PRAM reset.
Re - imaged the machine from a time machine backup of one of the other iMacs, which made the issue go away for about a month... but then it returned.
Using a magic keyboard is fine as a workaround, but the users need the number pad, and if possible I'd rather fix the issue than buy a clunky separate keypad.
Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be very appreciated!

The same thing can also happen with other connected devices such as external HD's and iPods, the Startup Manager is lost and searching for a boot volume.
1. You may be able to fix it by going to: *System Preference / Startup Disk* and select the *Mac OS X 10.5.5 on Macintosh HD* then *Click the lock to prevent further changes.*
2. Leave those devices that cause boot issues disconnected until the iMac is up and running!
3. Only sleep the iMac, and be sure to disconnect those devices be for shutting down or updates that require a restart!
As a habit, I have always ejected and disconnected all mounted USB devices (flash driver, iPods, cameras, card reader, etc.) from my hub be for sleeping, restarting or shutting down...

Is it possible to have different account maps for each and every month in FDQM for a single entity/location.
The requirement is,client needs to change accounts map each and every month,for eg; if in Jan ,account 1 is mapped to X, in feb same account 1 is mapped to y.

This is possible with the appropriate business process. FDM will apply the current map that exists to the current dataset. It will not retroactively change prior periods unless you specifically reprocess the maps (wither by reimporting data or by selecting Process Logic/Maps) for historical data.
So as a map is updated monthly, the historical data is maintained and the current data uses the "new" map. If for some reason the prior period does need to be reprocessed with the "old" map, you can use the restore function to bring the map back to what it was during that period.

Does any company make a Express Card 34 that can be used in the 17 for USB 3.0

I want to use an external seagate external USB 3.0.
Is anyone making one for the Express34 PC Card and if so do you get the extra speed for read and write.

Theoretical and acual speeds for all types data connections can differ due to several variables. I cannot tell you if my eSata connection has ever achieved the theoretical maximum speed because I have never measured it. However I have compared transfer times against Firewire with large files and it is noticeably faster (at least by 50%+). Therefore I highly recommend having it if you need to transfer large files from one HDD to another.
If you have a recent MBP, you already have a Thunderbolt connection. I do not believe that there will be a Thunderbolt Express Card for older MBPs because they are not configured to accept that technology.

I have tried the keyboard on two other Macbook Air's and it works perfectly.

Using a different GSSCredential for JNDI GSSAPI login

I have a server program which authenticates to a kerberos server using the GSSAPI Mechanisem. When I connect to my LDAP server using GSSAPI, it uses it's own credential by default. But what I want is to use a different GSSCredential, forwarded by the client to the server.
I have tried creating a Subject whit this GSSCredential and using doAs... which resulted in a "can not find ticket" error.
I have also tried creating a SocketFactory, which uses the credential to establish a security context whit the ldap server. But I can not let JNDI pickup the socket correctly. It always does a simple bind, or other which kills the socket connection.
So how should I use a GSSCredential to authenticate whit my ldap server using JNDI?
