Using a different Plan Version in WIP calculation

Hi experts.
I am using version 97 as plan in a wip calculation. The problem is that to recognize plan incomings my system uses version 0 and in the result analysis they always appear as 0 because the version the system is taking to recover the planned incomings is 97 and it is empty.
Is there any standard way to make it take version 97 only for costs?.
Thanks.
Alex

yes. this is true, the predicates are not preserved, I found that out after posting. ok, Im really thinking bug here, I'll explain further.
Im outside of prod time so can run the mview. the plan is pretty big so not going to post just yet, its just behavioural at this stage.
explain for QUERY, = plan good.
create table t1 as QUERY = plan good.
insert to table as QUERY = plan good
create mview as QUERY = plan bad. Not just timings are bad, the plan has completely changed. I stop the mview creation at this stage. good old ctrl+c.
the only thing thats different is Im running MVIEW create. So I hit my ADDM again, can see the bad plan and bad timings. So I get the SQL_ID from the ADDM for the bad plan and run a 10053 on it using the 11.2 sqldiag dump. Im hoping to see why its choosing the bad path
execute DBMS_SQLDIAG.DUMP_TRACE(p_sql_id=>'576wpd5g73q9c', p_child_number=>0, p_component=>'Compiler', p_file_id=>'BAD1');
edit my BAD1 10053 trace file and I see...the plan is GOOD. Its estimated 2 seconds to run for the SQL_ID thats actually bad when running.
This is why Im thinking bug.

• CK11n with activity prices from different plan versions

Hello,
We are looking for a simple & practical way to calculate a standard cost estimate for a material using activity prices from different CO plan version.
In the valuation variant of the costing variant the CO plan version is determined from where the activity prices are taken, eg version 0
So, we want to cost the same material using the activity prices of a different plan version, eg 90, or 91 ... but without using a different costing variant per CO plan version(so without having to create/customize a separate costing variant per CO plan version)
Is this possible?
Can we use costing versions in this respect?
Many thanks
Alain

Hi,
Thanks for quick feedback ... but how do you assign this valuation variant in the costing version... ?
Can you enter is in CK11n? or what transaction needs to be customized?
Thanks, Alain

• Costing on Internal Orders with different plan versions

Hi,
Is it possible to carry out Costing on Internal Orders using different plan versions?
I would like to carry out more than one costing on Internal Order so that I could compare different versions. Maybe there are other parameters (other than plan versions) which can be used for executing different parallel costing.
Best wishes,
Karol

Hi Karol,
In Release 3.0, the following new planning functions are available in order planning:
Copy plan versions
In Release 3.0, you can plan order costs for internal orders in different versions. In contrast to earlier releases, you can now
1. change versions
2. copy versions
3. Here you can select :
the planned values to be copied: annual or total values
whether the planned values in the target version are to be retained or overwritten compare versions using the information system
Planned values are not revaluated in the target version (for example, when you change the value date).
Overhead and settlements are not copied and, if required, must be repeated in the target version

• Query to compare different Plan versions in CCA

My requirement is to create a Cost Center query that compares two different plan versions, selected by the user with different time periods. We do not use any SEM functionality and are in version 3.0B.
There is a standard R3 report but this gives a total figure and does not split the figures by periods.
Does anyone know a Business Content query that can resolve this issue?

Hi ,
Instead of going for a business content query u can go for a formula variable using replacement path and assign the required values for the output and in that by using the customer exit with the help of abapers
Hope this will be a clear solution to ur problem
Pls assign full points if answer is satisfied

• Cloning use the different gcc version between source system and target sys

Hi All,
Our system is: Application tier and Database tier is split to two servers.
We should run a cloning, but I found the different gcc version on application tier on source system and target system.
The source application tier server is RedHat Linux ES3, gcc version is 3.2.3
The target application tier server is RedHat Linux ES3, gcc version is 2.9.6
There is the same gcc version on database tier on source system and target system, they are gcc 2.9.6.
My question: Can I use the different gcc version between source system and target system when I run an erp cloning?
Thanks & Regards
Owen

Not necessarily, you might get some errors if the version is higher and it is not supported by the OS. An example is Note: 392311.1 - usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/3.4.5/libgcc_s.so: undefined reference to 'dl_iterate_phdr@GLIBC_2.2.4'
To be on the safe side, make sure you have the same version (unless you want to give it a try).

• Different plan version for some scenarios in MSS

Hi guys,
Some scenarios of the MSS need to be referenced to another plan version different than the current active.
Then, I'm trying to configuring my Object and Data Provider with the requisites needed. The issue is that how can I tell the system that the plan version is another one??
Any idea??
Thanks for your answers.

Firstly, try to check whether the correct smartform is getting picked or a different form is getting picked. TO identify, set soft break-point inside your program lines or use SF_TRACE.
If it is still picking the same smartform, and it is not showing your changes.. then goto form attributes and check whether it is translated to all languages or not?
I guess, because of one of the above two problems it is not displaying your form correctly.

• DIFFERENT PLAN VERSIONS (NEWBIE ?S)

HI FOLKS,
PLZ COULD SOMEONE BRIEF ME ABOUT PLAN VERSIONS LIKE 0,1,99.
DIFFERENTIATE PALN VALUES VS FORCAST VALUES
I KNOW THEY ARE KIND OF SILLY QUESTIONS DESERVE NOT BE POSTED IN THIS EXPERT FORUM (.^.)
BUT ...
REGARDS,
AXEL

Usually version 0 is actual version
You can create as many verions as you like, but give meaningfull text to the versions, so that you know what those versions are used for.
In most places, plan and forecast are interchangabily used. Budgetting is usually yearly planning. Forecasting is usually rolling and monthly planning. Depending on the company you have 1 year, 3 year, 5 year planning / forecasting. It is always better to ask the people you are working with as to what the terminology used at their site.
Hope this helps.

• Use of different production versions for MRP and costing

Dear PP Gurus ,
We have a scenario in which there are multiple production versions for a particular product .The MRP run as welll as costing run considers only the production version 0001.
We would like the system to consider different production versions for MRP and costing ..that is 0001 for MRP and 0005 for costing .
Is this possible ... if yes ...Kindly suggest the config and master settings for this to happen .
Ram ~

Dear Ramakrishna,
For doing the costing for a specific production version use CK11N,under quantity structure tab key you
can assign the prod.version which is to be used for costing purpose.
While taking MRP if you want to consider the particular Prod.version, assign the demand to the
correct prod.version under schedule line tab in MD61.
Otherwise the system always picksup the first prod.version for MRP.
One more alternative is you have to lock the other prod.versions if you want the system to consider a
particular prod.version.
Check and revert back.

• HR Org Replication into different plan version in SRM

Dear SRM Gurus,
I have an org plan in HR (Plan Version 01) which I want to replicate into a newly created plan version "EL" in SRM. But this at the moment is not my "current plan version". So only after replication is successfully I want to change "current plan version" in SRM from "01" to "EL".
Question: is there any place where I can decide, into which SRM plan version I want to replicate my HR Org-Plan into?
Thanks and kind regards
Julian

You can implement this badi HRALE00OUTBOUND_IDOC and set dummy addresses. Or put a filter at the model view for the infotype 0006

• Using a different os version...

hi
i have a game on disc that won't work on 10.5, the developers say it's something to do with the drivers, i should have no problem with 10.3 or 10.4......is it as easy as downloading one of these versions and sticking it on the desktop, then opening it when i want to load the game...wanted to check before i tried....

hmmm... no i don't know if tiger will work on my machine but if i'm using leopard i assume it would be able to cope?
my imac is second hand, the one with the swivel neck, and the seller installed leopard onto it, 10.5.6, when i bought it....i was there at the time...don't know what was previously on it...
the game is redline by ambrosia....its a car racing game...web page says it needs 10.3.9 to run....on contacting them it seemed pretty clear they weren't going to update the drivers...don't know why....the game is still for sale...i might ask them again...

• Plan Version

Hi All,
Can you please explain the concept and use of Plan Version.
Regards,
Chinmay

Identifies the organizational plan you are currently working with by providing a short description of the plan. from F1
go to oopv transaction and create the different plan version
2. then go to table T77S0 and set current plan version to plogi plogi
3. go to transaction ppom_old here in settings you can choose current plan or any other plan.
4. if you want to copy exsisting org structure to other plan version see the report: RE_RHCOPL00
Plan Version Contains a one or two alphanumeric key which differentiates between
scenarions in you organizational plan.
Organizational Management allows you to manage scenarios in parallel in
various plan versions.
It basically defines which plan of the org structure to use.Suppose if want one current org structure (say A)and one org structure for future( say B) after 2 years, then we take 01 ie current plan as assign to the org structure A and assign 02 to org structure B.This will say that A is the current plan and if want an alternative plan its B. Hope i am clear

• COPA plan version

Currently, only version 0 is used for actuals and plan. Again this year we have used version 0 for cost center planning, profit center planning and also COPA planning. The user community would like to create a new version for COPA planning only to upload new data. Can I have a different plan version # for COPA only for this year? If so, how do I do that? Does it impact the other areas of planning?
Thanks for your help!

Hi,
Did you checked infoobject 0version??
Just check it
I think it is of char 1.
Thanks

• Plan Versions in SAP HR

What are the uses of Plan Versions? I can see current plan version that is active If I would like to create two plan versions suppose say Current Plan Version 01 and 02 for Future Plan Version? What will be the use if i go for versions? Iam bit confused on this It may sound simple still this making me confused...
Experts please throw some light on this

Hi,
The current plan version should be "01", as set in PLOGI PLOGI. This plan is what is updated whenever personnel changes are made in the system and represents your current organization.
Another verison could be used to create a "future state" or a "what if" scenario. For example you can have a version for a 20% decrease in the work force. Or a 20% increase in the workforce. Or if your company acquired another company. Then what would your reporting structures be? You could build each in a different plan version to see.
Then, if one of your scenarios came to be true and you wanted to utilize that structure, you could make that plan version the active version and all relationships would change to that new "current" plan version. Even if they never come true, the various plan versions can be utilized by management for "what if" scenarios.
An example of one that could actually happen, say your company acquired another company, but the deal would not be final until July 1st. Your management wants to build the org structure so they can see what it will look like July 1st, but you are not make any changes to the current structure until then. You could create a new plan version by copying the current structure, then add the new company and changing the relationships as necessary. Once management has approved this version, you would make it the "current " version in PLOGI PLOGI on July 1st and all the relationships and new assignments would now be active and seen in the structure and in PA.

• OM- Number range assignment for Plan Version

Hi all,
What should be the entry in table T77S0 -
NUMRG COMP Number assignment for all plan versions.
Whether it should be set to 'X' or Blank?
I read the documentation but could not undestand properly.
Thanks.

Hi,
Suppose if the value of NUMRG COMP is space then assigned number range will be used across all plan version's for different OM objectts.
And if the value of NUMRG COMP is 'x', Then each plan version will have different set of object range.
This has to be specified in OONR transaction.
Thank & Best Regards,
