Using a Duron 1.3mhz FSB 200 on Msi K7N2

This is what I've got, MSI k7n2-l,amd 1.3 duron 192k, 60g WD HD, ATI 8500LE 64mb, samsung DDR333 256 mb,
My question is, did anybody have any problems  using a Duron CPU on this motherboard or would this cpu work ok with my memory sammsung ddr333.
Thanks Dandio   ?(

Lets start from the beginning,I bought all this parts to put a computer together. Once i put every thing together. Set FSB 100 for CPU, ready to start my computer. But having problem to boot. The Dled 1, 2 were red, stating that"i may have a damage cpu or not installed properly".Fans, lights were working but when i powered on and off sometimes the computer will shut off. So i removed
things i didn't need for my computer to boot. Kept Cpu,memory, and video card. Reseated cpu samething, put memory in different banks still samething, I even removed the video card, memory and cleared cmos. restarted, no beep. still samething Dled 1,and 2 are still red.Tried cpu on another board was working ok. At this point i was getting very frustrated X( . So i called the company where i bought the motherboard and they replace my board with a new one. Once i recieved it, I put everything back together
Guess what!! Still the same problem. this time i removed
the motherboard out case and mounted every without the case. Now lets try this again. This time on my Dleds 1,3, and 4 leds are red. now saying "the memory module is damage or not installed properly". When powering  on and off some times the computer shut down. At this point i knew that cpu is working ok. I've check my memory in another computer. works just fine.
Could it be that power supply is not supplying enough power or could be my memory stick is not compatible with the motherboard. I hope the motherboard is not **** again.
What would be my next step. Need your help?? :(
Thanks

  • Low FSB problem on MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR.

Today is the first day this happened, and I don't know why it did it. I've had this for 5 days with no such problem like this B4.
Here goes... in my BIOS, I have the FSB set to 166(333), and the Ram synced with it. This afternoon I started up my computer and went into Aida32, and it said my FSB was at 157(314), it usually says 168(336).
Aida32 isn't lying, my clock was even gaining time. (That is the reasond I checked)
My question is, what would cause this?
Could it be bad power? A lousy start up?
Maybe the CPU? I've seen this happen on a couple other nForce2's I've had. Could it be nVidia's fault?
I just don't know were to start on troubleshooting this problem.

If it says the same when you go into the bios as Aida32 is reporting, you may have a defect somewhere on the board causing the issue. If not, uninstall your current version of Aida32 and try going back to the previous version and see what it reads.
That is what I first thought, but the real-time-clock is also running very fast when aida32 said it was 157, as you know the clock is FSB related.
I think I know what the problem is, and I'm almost sure it's power related. If I turn on my computer first then my monitor, my UPS overloads and shuts everything off plugged into the battery section of the UPS. To avoid this I have to turn on the monitor first, then the computer.
The day I started experiencing this problem, is the day that I turned on my computer first then the monitor, thus the UPS overloaded. So what I did to fix this, is I shut down my computer, switched off the PSU, unplugged the power cord, plugged it back in, turned the PSU on, then the computer on (monitor still was on), then it started it up and everything was back to normal. I've restarted my computer 10 times, and it's been working good ever since.
I'll keep you posted if I run into this problem again.

  • Purchased new iphone 4 yesterday and I already have used 73.81 MB of my 200 and I have not done much of anything. What uses mb ? does it use mb every time I play the game?  when I am reasding my emails does it use MB ?

I purchased an IPhone 4 yesterday and I have already used 73.81 mb of my 200 mb. I have only read my emails and downloaded one game from App Store. Does it use MB everytime I play the game? does it use mb the whole time I am on my emails. What uses MB?

Playing a game probably won't use much, if any... Downloading all those cool games and apps could have easily used that up, however.
Use WiFi whenever you can or download apps to your computer, then sync them to the phone with the cable.

    Help: FSB Setting for MSI 875P with Intel 3.06 533Mhz & Corsair 512 2799 333Mhz
    Need a little help here, Intel's specs for the P4 3.06GHz 533 is a multiplier of 23 x 133Mhz.
However 133Mhz as a FSB seems very slow.
The 875P NEO has two BIOS settings: CPU Ratio and Adjust CPU Bus
What are your settings for these - I am quite confused?
    Thanks!
    G.

133 is the stock FSB setting. set your memory to DDR333.
Do you want to overclock? you might want to set your memory to DDR266 which is 1:1. so u can adjust a bit of FSB from 133 to maybe 150.
PS dont forget your memory timing. 2-6-3-3 would be oki i think. what bios version r u using?

i raised the fsb on my xp2400 to 166
and i lowered the multiplier to 12 and it worked right away without problem.
    wire tricked it.
    yea but 166x15=2490!!!

  • Extender 1.4 to use with 70D and EF 70-200 f/4 IS. Any compatibility problems?

I am planning to get the Extender 1.4 to use with my EOS 70D and the EF 70-200mm f/4 IS.  Are there any compatibility problems with this combination?

"...  they will work perfectly together."
Perfectly may be a stretch but, yes, they will work as well as the combo can.  Anytime you add something like a tele exrender you have to give up something.  In photography you give to get.  There is no free lunch. Fortunately you are starting out with a pretty good lens and can afford to lose an f-stop and some IQ.
Let me pose a slightly different question. Suppose you already have (as many of us do) a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II. Suppose you add the 1.4 tele-extender. The combination would result, I believe, in a 98-280mm f/4, a potentially useful lens that doesn't appear in Canon's lineup. So given the cost of the TE and the image quality of the combination, is buying the TE a smart move?
Note that buying the TE does not compromise the 70-200 in any way, since it's still as good as it ever was without the TE. The combination, for the price of the TE, stands or falls on its own.

  • 875P Core Center FSB 200?

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but Core Center doesn't exactly come with a help file. I have the 875P mobo, 1 gig Kingston PC3200 CL3 in slots 1 & 3, Intel 2.8 cpu with 800 mhz fsb. My question is that when I open Core Center and pull out the left tab, it says the FSB is running at 200 mhz. Can this be right, or am I just missing something. I do remember that the bios recognized the memory as DDR400, so everything should be ok? Could I have something set up incorrectly?

    You're running 800 (200 times 4 :D

  • Can I use OnLocation w/ a Canon HF 200?

I see I have a firewire port on my Dell Lattitude E5500 Laptop, but I know I don't have one on my Canon.
Does anyone know if I can still use OnLocation when filming?

OnLocation CS4 supports only camera's that transmit via Firewire in the DV, HDV, and DVCPRO video formats. I'm afraid that does not include AVCHD cameras like your Canon HF200.

  • Using a Seiko Smart Label Printer 200 with SL

Has anyone had any success in getting this to work with Snow Leopard?

    Roger,
Check your firmware version. My dad is a switcher, and he has a SLP100 with version 1 firmware. The guy at Seiko was nice and helpful. After spending a few minutes on the phone troubleshooting, they said that the printer must have at least V5 firmware to work on the Mac with SL. Long story short, he had to purchase a new printer. You can check your firmware by holding down the advance button for about 3 seconds, then push the power button (continue to hold the advance button until it turns on).
    I hope this helps!

  • MSI K7N2-V incorrect FSB/CPU clock

I just flashed a K7N2-V with latest bios (6729v54). The system includes 512 mb 333mhz Memory and an Athlon XP 2100+ (266 mhz). After flashing the bios I reset the bios to the previous settings (FSB to 166 and the CPU to 133). The only problem is the system now identifies the CPU as an Athlon 1500 running at 1300 Mhz. After booting, WCUPID shows the cpu running a system clock of 100 (as opposed to 133) with a multiplier of 13 (hence the 1300 mhz (13 x 100) and the FSB as 200 Mhz rather than the correct 166. Prior to the flash this system ran normally.
I have reset this numerous times and tried multiple settings, including manual, auto , high performance but the system always shows the same 1300 mhz. I reflashed to a previous version (6729V52) hoping to turn it back but the results are the same.  Regardless of what settings I put in the FSB and CPU it always reverts to the 100 mhz clock speed and 200 FSB. The bios ALWAYS indicates a 1300 Mhz speed even if I up the CPU clock to 166 or 200. In essence the system is stuck at 100 mhz system clock and 200 FSB and it does'nt care what I set in the bios.
What in the heck is causing this? and how can I fix it?
    Any ideas are appreciated.
    beullar

I am having the same exact issue (not "Exact" same board, but same series.)
    I have the MSI K7N2GM-L (MS-6570)
I have installed in the board a AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (12x133 @ 1.75 Volt)
However, when I turn the PC on, it is set to 1200MHz when it should be 1600MHz
I have tried resetting the BIOS, even bought a new battery (though no settings are being lost, I figured it was worth a shot..)
I have tried to let it auto config it, ect.., tried manual of course, FSB is set to 133, I have double checked, I am using 3x 512MB PC-2100 DDR sticks, they are 266MHz (have not upgraded to 400Mhz Dimms yet)
The DDR is fine, I installed it into a MSI K7T266 Pro2-A Motherboard and did not get the same issue, along with the CPU ect.. however, I use a nVidia GeForce FX 5900 AGPx8 video card which the KT7 board only supports 4x speed where as the one I have issues with supports 8x.
Now funny part is, if I shut off the computer, wait some time, turn it on, "sometimes" not always but sometimes, it will decide to kick into 1600MHz and shows the CPU name properly. When it does boot and shows 1200MHz it does not show the CPU Name.
So basically, if I have to shutdown for something such as installing a drive, removing a drive, ect.. I have to play with it by turning off and waiting, then turn on until it decides to boot using 1600MHz instead of 1200MHz
I have tried Flashing the BIOS using Live Update via DOS mode. Right now I am on the machine and it is running @ 1600MHz. But the minute I shut off the PC completly, and turn it on, it will be at 1200MHz and I have to go through the process of turning it off and on until it posts 1600MHz again..
And I had checked to make sure it was not typo on the BIOS part by letting it boot to Windows and sure enough it would show it was a 1200MHz when it does this.
I am thinking the BIOS has some bug, the board runs fine however, no lockups, performs well, ect, apart from the BIOS not wanting to cooperate with my 1900+ 100% of the time, it seems to run fine.
Any suggestions, please lemme know :S

  • Help : After upgrade to IOS5, I only can use my iphone 3gs in Spore instead of Msia. Any1 know what is the problem & how to solve it?!

I bought iphone 3gs in singapore last year,I had no problem to use it in Singapore & Malaysia but after i upgrade to ios5,i can't use it in malaysia. It will automatic restart my phone itself. Is it because of IOS5 problem?!Because when I register my itune a/c, I selected the country is Singapore. Anyone know what is the problem & how can I solve it?!

If it automatically restarts the phone firmware is corrupt. Restore the phone with iTunes and set up as a new phone, do not restore your backup, which is likely where the corruption is. If it then works you can try restoring just the backup. If that breaks it again you know where the problem is; you will have to start over and manually reinstall your content.
To restore just the backup, right click on the phone's name in iTunes and select "restore from backup"
