Using a epson photo 2200 printer wirelessly

I have an Epson stylus Photo 2200 printer hooked up to my airport. When I go to print photo quality pictures and go to setting to pick the paper the Epson tools 4 unexpectedly quits. Thus leaving me with no choices in paper..... when I hard wired the printer with a USB it worked as it should.... is this a common problem with a work around or is this the way life is with this printer?  Thank you for any help.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

What print and paper sizes are you using?  Are you trying to print a borderless print?  Does your printer support borderless for that particular size?  Are you printing to the custom stock size or to a larger stock size?

  • Printing problem with Epson photo 2200

I have a Powerbook G4 running the most recent version of OSX. I can no longer print to my Epson Photo 2200. When I try and print the Printer window pops up, and the job automatically stops without printing.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 2200 driver, I have hooked up a Canon printer to the powerbook (and this printer works fine with the powerbook), I have printed a test sheet on the 2200 (which is done without a connection to the Powerbook and it printed fine). The problem lies in the computer printer connection (I am using USB for the link).
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a Epson Stylus Photo R800. The printer would not print Word docs or DVD media using the most updated software from Epson. After going through two printers I paid a consultant to come in on a Saturday night who told me that communication errors between Epson printers and current versions of the MacOS are encountered every day in his business. And neither Apple or Epson address the issue directly.
To get the Stylus Photo R800 to work we had to reconfigure the driver to deal with Manual Feeding of documents and DVDs. It took about an hour of experimentation but once done...with no help from Apple or Epson...the printer did work very well. However, the Epson Print CD software is a total bust. We found a third party solution called DiscLabel that allowed us to print DVDs with the reconfigured driver. I'm disgusted with both Apple and Epson because Epson sells printer with the promise that it will work with the MacOS when three hours of struggle with useless software proved otherwise.
If others have a better experience or know of simple solutions to the Epson Print CD problem please post them.
Thanks in advance for tolerating my rant.

  • Problems printing - Epson Photo 2200

I'm having problems printing to my Epson photo 2200. I'm running Mac OS X version 10.4.11. I notice that in the print window there are no longer options for color management, as in to turn it off. The problem I am having is when printing the images come out dark or the colors are just way off. I've tried all I can think of. I'm not a computer guy. I mainly print from Adobe Photoshop 7.0. I've tried different things but it comes down to the fact I don't have the same print screen that they show me and I can't turn off the color management, which may be the problem.
Has anyone else have tis problem?
    I need help!!

    Welcome to the forums VW!
Many have similar problems, but when you go to Print, look for the Copies & Pages drop down, select Color Sync and see if it's there. Some drivers will have it under Printer Options, or such things.

  • Epson Photo R2400 printing problems

I'm new to Mac, and I'm having problems printing from Photoshop CS2 for Mac to a brand new Epson Photo R2400 printer attached to my MacPro via the front panel firewire connection. The problem seems to occur with larger files (91mbyte or greater). The printing is interrupted my a "Printer Communication Error" which gives me no other choice but to shut down the print job, which results in my expensive, partially printed photo being ejected from the printer...this is getting expensive, folks...anybody with a solution to this problem? BTW, I downloaded the latest drivers for Mac from the Epson website and installed them, so I don't think it's a driver issue.
    Thanks

Wow. I haven't seen that one. I have a 2200 on FireWire on my Mac Pro. But the biggest file I remember printing was 71MB.
Are you by any chance using custom paper sizes? I had a communications problem when I set up a custom paper size that didn't use the printer's margins, a problem I found through Google.

  • I cannot print to my Epson Stylus 2200 printer.

All of a sudden I cannot print to my Epson Sylus 2200 Printer. I am running OSX 10.8.5 and have been using the Epson driver 9.0. I have checked for software dates and there are none. • Printing problems with CS5 and Epson Photo R2880 printer

I'm having problems getting good prints when using Photoshop CS5 with my Epson Photo R2880 printer, problems I never had with CS4. Here's the situation:
If I take a PSD file and print it using CS4, everything works out perfectly. But if I take that same PSD file and print it out using CS5, the print is now offset top to bottom, as well as left to right, along with a 1/8" black strip being printed down the right edge of the paper. As far as I can tell, everything is set the same.
I've compared all the print information found in the Print dialog summary box between CS4 and CS5 and everything appears to be the same. I've verified that I'm using the latest print driver with my printer, and I am. It's 8.27.  I've verified that I've checked off the box to center the print to the paper, each time I've made a print. And in trying to figure out what's going on, I've discovered that this problem occurs with any paper size when using CS5, but not with CS4.
I'm stumped and frustrated and without any more ideas as to what I should do next, except to always print my projects using CS4. If anyone has an idea for me, please let me know! Thanks!
P.s. I'm new at using this forum, and though I thought I sent this out once already, I never saw it posted. If I'm in error and it's already out there, sorry for the mistake and posting it twice.

    >"Unfortunately then I'd have to say all bets are off. The only true test is to print with the standard materials that Epson has designed their printer for. Only if that works well should you be trying third-party materials. For example, third-party inks in general are of poorer quality, are inconsistent, clog more, and in the long run, do not save you anywhere the amount of money they advertise over the genuine Epson products."
Getting very nice results with an R1800, Inkjetfly CIS, and Red River paper. The R1800 has never had Epson ink run through it and has no abnormal clogging problems. In fact, clogs are rare.
Getting near perfect matches to the monitor with both Colorvision and x-rite calibrating/profiling equipment. The printer stays on 24-7 so the only ink used, other than printing, is a periodic nozzle check. I am not alone in this, so blanket statements like the above are specious at best.
And no, I don't sell prints for big bux, so whether they are going to last a hundred years is not a concern. Besides, until someone is around long enough to verify those claims, the jury is out. I've got color prints from the wet days that are fading after 20+ years. Third party inks are not necessarily lower quality than OEM. One of the reasons for the development of high quality third party inks was the dissatisfaction of B&W and fine art printers with the OEM products.
Of course the cheap refilled/knockoff carts being hawked on ebay and the like are a different story.

  • Epson Photo R3000 prints as a negative, what is causing the interference?

    Hi All
A frustrating morning, new printer arrives (yay!),  but now I find my new Epson Photo R3000 prints fine from photoshop but prints come out as a negative image from aperture
I've already turned the printer settings to use colorsync rather than the epson engine for colour management to no avail - I have to assume that there's something in aperture that is being applied that is causing the issue, but just can't see what.
I can't be the first to find this as an issue with a new epson out of the box, Can anyone point me to where i can turn off whatever is causing the interference?
    Best Regards
    JT

interesting - this got me in the right direction.
Aperture was set to 'black and white', the printer dialogue was usign colorsync to enforce a paper profile generated by i1profiler an and i1io (or an epson profile).
when i set aperture's rendering brick to do it all 'in the printer' it's fine.
Cheers, knew it'd be something dumb!

  • Photoshop CS6 is not recognizing my Epson Photo 1400 printer...how to fix?

I cannot print anything from Photoshop CS6. When i try to print any / all types of files from Photoshop CS6 to my Epson Photo 1400 printer, I get the following error message:
"There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents."
I can print all / anything (.pdf .tif.png, etc.) from ALL other applications-except from Photoshop.
I only have one printer and it is recognized in my System Prefs.
    I have OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) and Photoshop 13.0 x64
    What to do....?
    Thank you in advance!!!

    Hi Chris,
I have the current version of PS and the most current printer driver. I deleted the Adobe CS6 Prefs.psp file and relaunched PS. I actually got closer this time, it looked like i could print but then i got this error message: ColorSync color matching may produce different results than printer color management. Either Photoshop color management or printer color management is recommended. I clicked Ok , the print preview window no longer showed my document and when I went to hit the print button, the original error message came up again. I go to File / Print and Print is no disabled (grayed out).

  • IPhoto 6 and Epson Stylus Photo 2200 Printer

The photos that I print from iPhoto 6 to my Epson 2200 printer are all coming out way too green. What settings do I need to use in the print dialog -- and color management? -- to get decent results? I can print beautifully from Photoshop CS2 to the 2200. I just can't figure out what settings to use in iPhoto. Thanks in advance for your help with this question. _sidpink

Kingstone's reply was helpful even though a little discouraging. But it made me realize that the problem probably lies with the choice of which software is doing the color management. The Epson 2200 printer driver provides some "advanced" settings in the print window, and I had been specifying "No color adjustment," because that's the setting recommended when printing from Photoshop. I had simply been trying the same setting when printing from iPhoto. But I went back and printed a photo from iPhoto using the "Color Controls" setting (without changing any of the variables), and the print came out perfectly! So I've answered the question to my satisfaction thanks to Kingstone's reply -- and I don't have to go out and invest in Photoshop Elements.

  • Using the Time Capsule to print wirelessly to HP Photosmart C4480 Printer

Does anyone know how to set-up the Time Capsule to make it print to a HP Photosmart C4480 Printer wirelessly from a Mac Mini (Mac OS X 10.5.8) and/or a MacBook Pro (10.4.11)?
I've tried everything, at least I think so. I followed the manual, the help from the discussion forums, from trial & error, and from the Apple Store Genius.

When you say hooked them up.. what do you mean? As a wireless printer it should connect by wireless as a client to the TC.
But if you use apple names it might get lost. I would recommend you set all the wireless names to SMB standard.. short no spaces pure alphanumeric in the TC.
Also you might do better locking the wireless channels.

  • In Aperture 2 I could set a print quality of "high" or similar, I don't see such a choice in Aperture 3.  I'm using an Epson Stylus 2200.  Is there such a choice?

In Aperture 2 I could set a print quality of "high" when printing photos on an Epson 2200.  Now I'm using Aperture 3 with the same printer.  I don't see a similar choice and I'm getting banding issues on the prints.  The photos print much too fast. How do I correct this?

    Thanks for the input!
Restarting the computer was the obvious first thing to try, but had no effect.
I have over 2GB free memory and still experiencing the issue.
It does take a few seconds to load the Live View for the first time, but that's not my problem. My problem is that with Live View already loaded, it takes over 30 seconds after saving changes to the php file before I can see the changes in the Live View (I'm clicking the refresh button once a second, and on the thirty something time I'll finally see my changes).
With "Preview Using Temporary Files" turned off, I get the behavior I've been describing.
Turning "Preview Using Temporary Files" on does actually mitigate the issue for me, though, so thank you for that suggestion!
         - I can see changes in my Live View instantly after saving and clicking the refresh button.
         - I can see changes using Preview in Browser instantly too... but the browsers refresh button has no effect (which makes sense since the temporary file it's looking at hasn't changed).
         - I can actually get some work done now.
However, I still feel that I should be able see my changes in Live View immediately after saving and clicking the refresh button without using "Preview Using Temporary Files", and I'd like to be able to leave the page open in my browser and just click the browser's refresh button to see my recently saved changes instantly.
    So Long Story Short:
Using "Preview Using Temporary Files" has definitely helped!
But I still have no way to see my changes immediately without using temporary files, so something still seems fishy.
