Macs can read Windows formatting so if your iPod was first used and formatted on a PC you should have no issue with using it as a removable hard drive on the Mac: How to determine your iPod's disk format
Just for reference, iPods formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because Windows operating systems don't recognize Mac OS-formatted disks (HFS or HFS Plus formats). Mac formatted iPods can only be used on a PC that has a third party helper program such as XPlay or MacDrive installed.

Thanks for the response. Just got the Shuffle home and the Ipod Mini charger is not compatible. The connections don't fit. The connections do fit on my I-Pad charger and I've heard stories going both ways that it will work and it won't work.

Anyone using an Ipod in a VW with their "ipod adapter" help!!

This is the worst interface I think I've ever seen for an IPOD and I'm wondering if anyone knows if VW has a work-around to improve their interface.
Currently, the car stereo treats the Ipod as an external cd changer and will only play the first five playlists and then access the entire library in the 6th preset button. The Major problem is it seems to only play songs in order and will not randomly access the library-thereby totally defeating the point of an ipod to begin with.
Additionally, they've hit the interface away in the glovebox making it impossible to access and alter...
If anyone knows any way of improving this situation I'd love to hear it. I'm currently shocked and in awe of VW's stupidity when designing this so-called "ipod interface" Worst piece of engineering I've seen in years... (unless, I'm just using it wrong... but reading manuals etc, hasn't helped so i don't think it's me... I hope.)

forgive me if I'm jumping to conclusions... but it sounds as though you are using 2 different PCs. 1 in the UK, 1 in Canada. If this is not the case then please disregard what I'm about to say.
In order to play music from an iPod on a computer other than the one used to put the music on, you'll need to set the iPod for manual update in iTunes preferences. This will allow access to the music on the iPod for the sake of playback.
Secondly, the iPod can only be updated from one computer or another. You're unable to update the iPod from the music library on two different computers without one erasing the other. If you want to get rid of the music on the iPod the iPod updater can be used to restore it back to factory settings, at which point you should be able to update it on the PC in Canada just fine.

Can someone please help me. I need to find out if my iPod Touch 4th Generation can be used for Air Play with my Apple TV. When I go to photos I can use Air Play to display them. But I cannot use airplay for my apps like Facebook, and My games like The Sims. I am using iOS 6.0.1. Is that the issue if so, When you be updating the 4th Gen. Touch to be able to use it with the 6.0.2 version. I beleive Apple can do better with this. I just purchased my Apple TV yesterday, and I don't want to have to take it back already, because it doesn't work with my iPod 4th Gen.

Sorry to ask, how do I do it please. I have my first ipod with the same account on both computers that have different libraries one of which I am building now. Do I have to de-authorise my original ipod on the computer that I want to use my new ipod on with the new library and then register my new ipod. Using my Ipod Nano (4th generation) with my mac AND my work PC

I have previously had a 30gb ipod video and have been able to use it primarily on my mac (for downloading) and have been able to go to work and plug it in and also run it through itunes on my work PC. I recently got the nano 4th generation and have not been able to run it on my work PC. (Im only able to work it on my MAC.) My work pc itunes says something like "this is a mac formatted ipod...please restore your ipod to run with a pc".
Is there a way I can run it on both?

Windows is stupid. It can't understand the mac formatted ipod. Restore the ipod on your windows box and format it for PC. The mac will be able to read the PC ipod just fine after that.

I just loaded his music onto my iPod at the time, but I want to delete all of the music he gave me and start over. I want my own iTunes account so I can load my own songs. He's afraid that if I erase all of the songs from my iPod and reload from his iTunes it will mess up his iPod as well. What should I do?

I am using for a while a iPOD video that contains a copy of all my CD's. As I would like to run without breaking the hard disk, I have bough a iPOD nano 3rd gen. When I connect it to the PC, he has got the same name of the iPOD video.
How can I diffenriate them to store only a few CD, podcast, ... on the nano?

I need to give a Keynote presentation in Australia later this year and was considering buying an Apple Digital AV Adapter to connect to a HDTV. I'm currently in the UK and have bought my iPad 2 (iOS 4.3.5) here.
Are there any compatibility issues that I should be aware of, or can I go ahead and just plug in?

I think that the HDMI standard is the same worldwide. The digital adapter is HDMI. So, if the TV has an HDMI port and you have an HDMI to HDMI cable, that much should work.
Folks have reported that a few HDMI TVs do not appear to work with the adapter.

I think, that Apple designers has product safety, uppermost on their mind, sometime people complain that the newest charger, for iPad, doesn't work on the Classic, without knowing that there is a maximum current limit on the Classic.
