Using a Java 5 API in a 1.4 project

All my projects have to be developed in the Struts framework using Java 1.4.something but I really would like to use Watij web automation for a quick web scraping however it's Java 5. What is the best way to incorporate it into my project seeing as I can't directly use as it won't compile in my current project with Java 5.

I already tried creating a Java 5 project, JARing it up and then just importing it in my struts project and calling the method I want however I end a
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

I think you may have to look at all your jar files in the project including struts jar packages, and watij home page, and verifying they all are java5 compatable. My guess is your error is caused by watij using java reflection to do something (assuming there is nothing in the project or struts using reflection) . You may try creating a small struts project that is java5 compatable and seeing if you can use the watij tool on it without an error. That way, you will isolate problems with watij and struts problem with java5, from who knows how many other problems the major project has with java5. Are you using a server such as tomcat? that has to be compatable with java5 too.

Error while using LiveCycle java APIs with Http servlets:"Remote EJBObject lookup failed for ejb/Inv

When i try to run more than one servelt of the Quick Start samples that using Livecycle Java APIs and i get an error of "Remote EJBObject lookup failed for ejb/Invocation provider" from any servelt i run.
I try some Quick samples which is not servelts (java class) and it works fine, which makes me sure that my connection properties is true.
Environment:
The LiveCycle is based on "Websphere v6.1", and i use "Eclipse Platform
Version: 3.4.1".
i install "tomcat 5.5.17" to test the servelts in developing time through Eclipse.(only for test in developing time not for deploy on )

I assume here that your application is deployed on a different physical machine of where LCES is deployed and running.
Do the following test:
- Say that LCES is deployed on machine1 and your application is deployed on machine2. Ping machine1 from machine2 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine1 from machine1 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
- Ping machine2 from machine1 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine2 from machine2 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
Usually this kind of error would happen if your servers have internal and external ip addresses.

Is it possible to load a non-standard image using some Java API?

Hi,
My "problem" is:
1. I have an image called "mediterranean_sea.IMG" (non-standard image format)
2. I need to process it (histogram, palette, etc).
3. I'm wondering if it is possible to load this image an process it using some Java API.
4. I've tried to do this using JAI but I think that this API only works with TIFF, PNG, JPEG, etc.

1) Loading data to Hyperion Planning application using Essbase Java API would be possible at application layer (Hyperion Planning) or at database layer (loading data directly to essbase database) ?
2) If we load data directly to essbase database how are we going to recognize which essbase server is connected with Hyperion Planning application ? Does user require to know in advance the underlying databse server ? Is there any API in Essbase or in Planning to connect to Planning application ?

Standard Business Package is use to provide interaction between MDM Server and the Portal. It consists of MDM iViews like Item Detail iView (allows to create,edit and delete the records) , Resultset iView (Displays the records, allows to add the records in workflows etc), Search iViews (for searching)i.e. Data Manager functionality.
Java API are used when you need some functionality that standard MDM iViews dont have.MDM Java API consists of set of classes and interfaces with the help of which customization can be done.

Using the Java API

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to see if anyone knows whether I need a license to use the Java API included in the trial version of Adobe LiveCycle ES.
I need to include some PDF manipulation code for dynamic XFA forms in an application, and I first read that XPAAJ jar was free. So is the API here also free or do I need a license? If anyone knows, could you please point me in the direction of the details if a license is needed.

You don't need a license as long as the application you're building is for evaluation or testing, and NOT for production use.
You will need to purchase a license for production use.
Licensing can be complex, and you should contact your local Adobe office or enterprise partner for details.
XPAAJ was never free, it was bundled with other Adobe products.
It has been deprecated, and is no longer supplied or supported, as far as I'm aware. You will need to purchase a LiveCycle license of some sort.

Using the Java API to address a specific instance

I've created another operation (onRequest) in the client of an async. process.

I then use this operation in a recieve activity so that I can stall the flow of the instance, and then call it whenever I whant from a RMI client.

My problem is that, after the creation of one or more instances of this process, how can I send a post message to a specific instance using the Java API?
I understand that i should use something like...

but there's nothing to "say" that this post message is to be delivered to the instance with the ID "xx".
I also know that I need to use correlation on this but I don't know how.

This is a very good question: here is a code snippet that shows how you can add a conversation id to the NormalizedMessage that you are sending to the delivery service.

Please note that you will need to use the conversationId property both with the message you use to initiate the BPEL process and the message you use to perform the onRequest call.
Please note that if at some point you want to perform any of the 2 calls through the SOAP channel, you can embed he conversationId in the WS-Addressing header within the relateTo element.

Using the Java APIs

I am attempting to use the java api in my reporting solution. The application that we are developing is using JSF and java. I wanted to keep the same look and feel for my reports.
First, I created a very simple rtf template in Microsoft word using BI Publisher Desktop. This simple template is just a table layout of data. No groupings. I created my datatemplate and ran the DataProcessor, the RTFProcessor, and FOprocessor objects. This worked correctly.
I next created another rtf template. This rtf template contains a grouping on Po_Number. I also modified my data template to group by Po_number. The DataProcessor and the RTFProcessor works fine. However, the FO Processor gives me the following message:

However, I can successfully preview this template (with data) in Microsoft Word. Any ideas what may cause this.

It's either a template issue or your missing some jar files (probably jar files).

How to populate boolean fields using MDM Java API's

Hi Experts!
I am trying to populate Boolean fields in main table of my repository using MDM JAVA API SP 05 patch 2.
Problem is i am geting syntax error for any value that i try to put in.
Please provide me sample code for the purpose.

Here is the code snippet to populate boolean values from Main Table in the Repository:
Populating boolean values from Main Table in the Repository:
wdContext.currentNodeElement().setABC(Boolean.valueOf((strABC).toString()).booleanValue());
Putting boolean values in the main table:
Record objEmptyRecord = RecordFactory.createEmptyRecord(new TableId(strTableId));
boolean bFieldValue = ((Boolean)strABC).booleanValue();
objEmptyRecord.setFieldValue(new FieldId(strFieldId),new
BooleanValue(bFieldValue));

Send a mail on other's behalf using EWS java api

Hi ,
I am using EWS java API for delgate uses.
I have added a delegate by using following code
DelegateUser newDelegate = new DelegateUser("[email protected]");
newDelegate.permissions.setInboxFolderPermissionLevel(DelegateFolderPermissionLevel.Editor);
Mailbox mailbox = new Mailbox("[email protected]");
ArrayList<DelegateUser> delegates = new ArrayList<DelegateUser>();
delegates.add(newDelegate);
service.addDelegates(mailbox, MeetingRequestsDeliveryScope.DelegatesAndMe, delegates);
it got added sucessfully.
Now i ([email protected]) am trying to send a mail to somebody won behalf of "[email protected]".
How to achive this using java EWS ?
Below is the message object i have created.
msg = new EmailMessage(service);
msg.setSubject("Used EWS web services by deepak");
msg.setBody(MessageBody
.getMessageBodyFromText("Sent using the EWS Managed API."));
msg.getToRecipients().add("[email protected]");
