Using a java program to load up a webpage.

I am trying to configure a java application to load up a small webpage that i will use to make updates to a current software project.. however I can't get it to load up the html.. I have tried coding in new conversions and such but still having a great deal of difficulty.
I am trying to add in 2 tabs...
update
info
in which those 2 tabs will lead 2 "2" different things...
update will lead to a loaded webpage off the web. while info will load up an image.. I am having trouble getting the info to work in the compiler i am using.. Metrowerks CodeWarrior.. heh.. if anyone could please help me or tell me exactly what i am doing wrong I would be happy :D.. I can't really post my source.. because its not much just defines the tabbed pane and main frame .. etc.. so its not much to look at..

I am wanting to load up a webpage from the www aka worldwide web its an http address.. I want to do this using some sort of pane..
and well
ok let me explain it in further detail.
I have a tab pane to the left I have 2 buttons on it.. on one button I want to load up a page from the www(world wide web) when you click it.. and the other I want to display a image (i know i think i can use jlabel) of the info on our staff and etc..
so overview
2 tabbed buttons on a tabbed pane in a frame..
I am wanting to load up a website when you click update..
and i want to load up an image when you click info..
in which these 2 resources will be displayed on a pane to the right of the screen where you clicked the tab..
thank you that is all heh

    How to do it??
    Any example??
    Thanks a lot!!

    Sorry, I think i did not express cearly. It is my fault.
    I re-write my requirements again:
    I have
    Class AAA1.java,
    Class AAA2.java,
    Class AAA3.java,
    Class AAA20.java...
    etc
    they all look like the program I posted first time,, once executed, they will run for ever, and they will be stopped until I press CRTL + C;
    Now I hope to use another java class StopProgram.java to stop them 1 by 1 or at once instead of pressing CRTL + C;
    In this case, how to code this StopProgram.java ??

              WLS JMS supports the clients developed by using non-java program languages,such
              as,c++,VB?

    The short answer is yes. This is a frequently asked question. I
              suggest searching this newsgroup in google using terms like "C++",
              "IIOP", ".NET", "JCOM".
              Note also that WL 8.1 (now out in beta) contains a thin java client
              (something like 0 or 300K without JMS, 700k with. The 0K client comes
              from leveraging WL's IIOP support.)

  • Using a java program to fill in forms using information from a spreadsheet

    I had an idea to "automate" some data entry at work and need to know if my idea is feasible with Java. Here is the back story:
    I work on a research project and we have all of our contact data in an Excel spreadsheet (I know access may be better for this but for "political reasons" I just set it up in Excel). Every day we need to pay participants and this is done through a third party website. When the participant is new to this website we need to fill in all their personal information via a form on the webpage. Since we already have all their information stored in a spreadsheet, I was thinking we could create a little program that pulls the data from the excel sheet and inserts it into the form fields.
    Can this be done with a simple java program?
    Thank you for any help!

    peroija wrote:

    Can this be done with a java program?Yes. You could certainly have your page upload the spreadsheet to your server, and you could certainly have your server program attempt to extract the data from Excel using Apache POI or JExcel or something like that. But you have to be prepared for people to upload the wrong file, or the right file in which the users have chosen unusual date formats, and so on. You could make things easier by distributing a spreadsheet which is locked down so that the users can only enter the information in specific places and specific formats, but it looks like you have missed that opportunity too.

  • Once my Java program is loaded the it's reponse time is fine but how can I get it to load faster. It takes 10 to 15 seconds to load.

    Is it related to iAS. Which java program are you loading. It depends on several issues right from your processor to the classloader.
    Could you provide more details.
    Thanks,

  • Need help with jsp that uses a java program

    Hi, sorry for my english but i am italian.
    I've got a problem: i use java builder and i have a java program(this program has got a main and includes libraries) about graphich on tree, this program visualizes these trees and makes operations on these.
    Now i must use JSP so that a client can see this program (this program is on the server) and can interact with it.
    I can't use applet.I must use only jsp.
    Who can tell me how can i start???
    Thanks.

    If you are not allowed to use an applet, then you are limited by what can be achieved with HTML in a browser.
    You would have to figure out how to render it with HTML, then program your jsp to write out this html programatically.

    hi,
    can anyone give me the code to change the directory in the java program by using the system command.

    the same way how to do that in java. please help me with that!!!

    Please search the forums for "runtime.exec", there are dozens of examples posted.
    Although this may not do you any good, since changing the os's directory is not likely to change anything you're using in Java. What are you trying to do?

  • Using a Java Program to execute JavaScript from a website

    Okay, let me try and explain as good as I can. I have a program now, that searched through all files and folders in Unix (Solaris machine) and gets the list of files in the bin and sbin folders.
    Well, I want to find the version of each of these files from the bin and sbin folders and not all of them have the -v, -V or -version feature (or any others there may be). But, I found this page:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/fileFingerprints.pl
    where if you go to the page I can find an md5 number, place it in the box and click submit to find versions, if available.
    My thing is, as I find the number from my java program, I want to be able to open this page, insert in the box (or maybe even call the javascript function) and then submit to get the version numbers. That would mean I could need to get back info from the javascript function.
    I hope that explains what I need and hope that someone can help me.
    I have found information on the JSObject, but not sure what that means exactly so if someone can explain this:
    JSObject win = JSObject.getWindow(this);
    JSObject doc = (JSObject) win.getMember("document");
    JSObject loc = (JSObject) doc.getMember("location");
    String s = (String) loc.getMember("href"); // document.location.href
    win.call("f", null);
    it would be greatly appreciated. But, this may not even be what I need. I see that the win.call is where I would call the function needed and I am guessing the null could be where I put the number if that is how the function i need works like that. But, what I dont understand is what "document" is and "location". Also, i the "href" the page I put above? I am just lost on that. Hope someone will understand.
    Thank again for the help!

    Exactly so. Check out the last item - reading and writing to a URL - writing to a URL.
    Pulling out the form code from that page:
    <FORM METHOD="POST"  ENCTYPE="application/x-www-form-urlencoded">
    <TEXTAREA NAME="md5list" ROWS=16 COLS=66 MAXLENGTH="33792"></TEXTAREA>
    <BR><INPUT TYPE="submit" NAME="submit" VALUE="submit">
    <INPUT TYPE="reset" VALUE="reset">
    </FORM>You should end up with something like this (copying and pasting from the example):
    URL url = new URL("http://http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/fileFingerprints.pl");
    String sNumbers = "put your serial nos in this string"
    URLConnection connection = url.openConnection();
    connection.setDoOutput(true);
    PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(connection.getOutputStream());
    out.println("md5list=" + sNumbers);
    out.close();
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(connection.getInputStream()));
    String inputLine;
    while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null){
      // read in the HTML page result for later parsing?
    in.close();

  • How can I use a Java program to write an executable Applescript

    I'm using a PC with Windows XP. I'm a private developer. I've written a project in Java and wish to deploy it to other people using email. I've written an Install program (the Main-Class) and successfully packed this in a jar file with the project class files and some data files all as described in the deployment trail in the Java Tutorials. A recipient with a Mac with OS X downloads the jar file and runs it to install the project class files and some data files. The install program then writes an Applescript file (Vocab.scpt shown below) on the Desktop to make starting my downloaded program easier but it doesn't seem to work and I think it may be because the script file is not "executable". Could this be the case? If so, how could I change my install program to make the script file executable or alternatively use some other system to start the downloaded program?
    Vocab.scpt:-
    # Script to start: Vocab Version: 1.0.0
    do shell script "cd /Applications/Vocab; Java Vocab"
    Many thanks for your interest. Unfortunately I don't have a Mac to experiment with this problem and although I have spent some days on and off trying to find an answer in the mass of information available on Apple's website I can only find small clues here and there to answer my problem (which I would have thought was quite a common one). In Windows a batch file (eg. Vocab.bat) is automatically executable.

    I didn't expect you to have your customer run the command. I would expect you to create the executable and install it. However, there wouldn't be any difference in what you are creating and the .jar file. Either way it is a faceless icon. For that matter, it is no different than a batch file on Windows. I'm not sure what they wouldn't understand with, "copy the Vocab.jar file to wherever you want and double-click it to run the program." In addition, you probably ought to point out that Java is not installed on Mac OS X Lion (10.7.x) and when they double-click the jar file (or whatever you send them), the system will ask if they want to install Java.
    What you really need to do is package up the app inside a Mac application package and provide the user with the application on a .dmg (disk image). Take a look here: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Java/Conceptual/Jar_Bundle r/Introduction/Introduction.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40000884
    I also found this which uses ANT to create the bundle: http://informagen.com/JarBundler/
