Using a Mac and When I open a new tab, it goes to AOL page instead of showing history.
Installed new AOL add on and now new tabs open in AOL page. Want to restore so new tabs open with hsitory page.
This is happening because of the AOL add on . uninstall that and then try again .

Firefox is adding advertising links to certain words on my website cornish-surfing.co.uk, and when I open a new tab an additional window opens with unwanted sites.

These things only happen when I’m using the Firefox browser. I use Sophos antivirus and firewall and the scans indicate my system is clean. So I’m assuming that it’s built into Firefox or there’s a security flaw with Firefox.
Can you let me know which and how I can stop it from happening?
Graham Jappéhello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc (certainly nothing that is shipping with a plain official firefox build).
please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Hi, and thanks in advance. I have an emac thats working fine except for safari. Click safari the top bar comes up but no page and when i open a new tab it shuts down with a error and message saying it unexpectedly quit and send to apple or relaunch.

After installing Roboform 2.0.0;
Starting Firefox started to take too much time.
When i open a new tab, until the tab is fully loaded and Roboform realizes which website it is, Firefox does not respond.
When i tell Roboform to fill the username and password fields in a tab, until Roboform submits Firefox does not respond.
I mean, as if Roboform is not working background and Firefox cannot work multithread because of it. When i navigate from one tab to another, Roboform is also checking the tab and meanwhile Firefox is waiting for Roboform to finish its work.
Please help me about this problem.

How do I keep my browsing window the same size everytime I start Firefox and when I open in new tab
I can't see the the words unless I hit control and plus to view bigger. I used to be able to have the bigger size every time I opened Fire Fox and would not change when I open in new tab, now I click control and plus to make bigger, I click open in new tab and it's small again, every time I open Fire Fox everything is small letters so I have to control and plus all the time.
The size, in pixels, is staying the same. Most of the time, this is the way you should think of image size. Working in inches is only meaningful when you are about to print.
In your example, if the piece you have added is too small, select it and use Transform to make it bigger. This is upsampling, so quality may be compromised. -

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

I read online to reset the default settings on chrome and when i did that the problem seemed to all but go away. But then, not even an hour later, i notice that there are random ads that popup and sometimes ads will just open in new tabs. I know that this is a virus and i really want to get rid of it. I am using a OSX MacBook Pro running Mavericks version 10.9.4 and using Firefox 30.0. My Mac has recently been hijacked by a program called "Trovi". Whenever I open a blank new tab in Firefox the tab opens it opens with Trovi. The Mozilla forums offer support but all solutions are for users who run Windows. How do I remove Trovi from my Mac? it well looks like the pop ups are frozen into firefox or something. i uninstalled firefox 3 times to fix this and its still there. i dont even know how to properly describe it.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I just recently downloaded Firefox 5.0 and it appears that they have changed or deleted one of my favorite features. It used to be that when I opened a new tab it would displayed like 9 of my most visited sites. Is this still possible with Firefox 5.0 or is it permanently deleted? If it is possible, how do I alter the settings to get this feature back? Thank you.
As far as I know, this has never been a feature of Firefox's core. Do you have an addon such as New Tab JumpStart or New Tab King that gave you this feature in Firefox 4? It's possible that whatever addon gave you this feature before hasn't been updated to work with Firefox 5. If you don't want to wait for that addon to update, you could try either of the addons I mentioned above.

When I open a new tab, I want to see a thumbnail view of few recent pages. How to set that?
My friend uses Google Chrome browser, and when he openes a new tab he can see on it a thumbnail view of 6 or 8 recent visited pages. Vith a simple click on each of them he can revisit that pages.

When I open a new tab it no longer goes to top sites. I started after I downloaded some codex so i could play a video on line but it downloaded a tool bar and another program. I have since uninstalled the program disabled the plug ins but when I open a new tab It goes to the site for the toolbar. How do I get it to go back to my top sites?
