Using a Macbook by -30 degrees Celcius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit)

Hi,
I will be part of an arctic expedition in Baffin Island during march and april 2007. We are planning to send data back to our HQ in europe through the INMARSAT broadband system. For that purpose we need to operate a laptop at very extreme temperature (-30 degrees Celcius or -22 degrees Fahrenheit), and I was wondering if it would be possible to use a Macbook in those conditions. Will it fail to work properly?

These are the stated requirements for a MacBook.

You will have to have some provision for heating the electronics up to enable extreme usage. There are numererous ways to do this. You might also want to discuss your plans with Apple engineering in Cupertino. They might have some ideas.

My new Macbook Air's (July 2011) CPU reaches 94 degrees Celcius watching basic, low resolution flash video. Should I be worried?

The fan is inconsistent as well. Sometimes it will stay at 2000 rpm past 80 degrees Cecius and other times it will be at 6000 rpm at 70 degrees celcius. Just watching small flash videos, it hit 94 degrees celcius. In response, the fan only went up to 4000 rpm. Is this normal? That doesn't seem healthy.

if you tried everything (smc reset, pram reset...) but if they didn'T fix your problem, your problem is apple's mistake about thermal paste.
apple using too much thermal paste accidently in their factory and too much thermal paste make problems like this.

I guese everyone that has an overheating MBA, their CPU was assulted with a huge blob of thermal paste.
I just gave up on mine, it's 45-60c when you're doing some web browsing, YouTube 720p HD, Mail, Messenger and iTunes....

Mac is overheating(more than 90 degrees celcius)

Hi everyone, just as the title explains my macbook pro is overheating much to easily nowadays. Everytime i run anything the temperature ranges from 78-90 degrees celcius. Is this normal and is there a way to reduce the temperature
(Further Info:Macbook pro 10.6.7,2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor, 4GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 memory)
(I have smc fan control and istat installed too)

The things that are currently using the most cpu is only firefox which is at 3-7%. Usually when i run games(like Minecraft or Portal 2) or learning applications it heats up like the core of the Earth.
Hmmm, shouldn't be causing excessive heat.
I'm not that good with handdling Macbook Pro's so how do i know how much free space i have on HD?
Click on HD icon, hold down command key and press i (=Get Info).

Weather on maps no longer in degrees celcius? help

for some reason the weather on nokia maps shows temperature in degrees F, it used to be in degrees celcius, how can I get it back to degrees C?

In the Finder,navigate to your projec folder. Look in the Shared Items folder. Is there a video ffile inside? Does it play intact?

Is it possible to update her account on my macbook using her external disk without overwriting my stuff on the same Macbook and vice versa?

Time Machine does not do individual accounts. It records the complete drive. So if you were to use her TM backup on your Mac it would make your Mac just like hers. Both yours and her account on your MAC.
Just copy the missing files over from her Mac to yours. If there are differennt programs on each then they would need to be installed on both.

Can I use my Macbook Air with my apple TV?

I have just purchased and Apple TV box to use with my phone and Ipad. I was just wondering is i can also use my macbook air (late 2010) with it as well. I can stream my itunes through the apple tv and play all my songs but i was wondering if I could mirror the screen onto my TV. I am useless with all the macbook jargon i have seen in other posts so need some simple help. I am operating on Lion 10.7.5. Yes, but you must update to OS X Mavericks using the Mac App Store. When you do, you will see this icon in the menubar:

There is additional cost involved, but it would achive what you want. You can buy the Hybrid product, and connect your external DVD player via Composite (red, white and yellow connectors) to your MBP via the EyeTV.

Well what i'm trying to do is keep file sharing on while macBook is closed so i can access files through "newtwok" (Back to my mac) with my imac...
Ideally i would then control my macBook with screen sharing on my imac while the MacBook is stored behind my iMac...
Somehow it worked before but now it stopped...and everytime i close the lid ..mac book pro goes black screen and completly disconnects from the newtwork...
