Using a movie with sound in a drop zone

I want to use a movie, and its sound, in a theme drop zone. The movie plays just fine, but no sound. I tried using the inspector and turn up the sound (it's set at zero) but no luck. I know I can drop music into the background of a theme, but how can I use both a movie and sound?

Thank you for the quick feedback. The fact of the matter is disappointing. Is there another software I should look at, to convert still images (I use Photo to Movie to manipulate those) and movies (I use iMovie) into DVDs?

How to use magic move with connection lines?

When I use magic move with connection lines, they disappear and reappear in the next slide. It seems like magic move doesn't recognize the connection lines (or can't match them), so it just redraws them, instead of leaving them there.

Group the shapes and connection line together:
select the objects then Arrange > Group (alt Command G)

Loaded movie with sound problem

I have some movies with attached sound. The movie uses the
sound position property and preset cue times to drive action in the
movie. They play fine on their own but when they are loaded into
another movie using either loadMovie or loadMovieNum, the sound
does not play and the cue driven action don't work. I made sure to
set the _lockroot property to true in the loading clip with
loadMovie and also put it in the original movie and tried using
loadMovieNum.
What happened to the sound?

I just gor Quicktime pro after buying my SLVR L7 phone from singular. I wanted to put movies in it but needed to convert them. I FINALLY found out how to convert movies for my SLVR L7 but now they don't have sound. How can I convert MPEG movies into 3gpp with sound? I don't get the choice when exporting.

I had issues with this same thing on a number of music videos I pulled off of "enhanced" CD's. Sound would be fine in QT but the iPod format file would be soundless. I ended up having to use VLC to export the video to a new file (I think I streamed it to a new file) and convert that one with QT Pro.

Some movies with sounds others not

My AppleTV can play video and audio perfectly with almost files (songs and movies) but htere are some movies which ATV can't play but iTunes does in my iMac. Some of them (but not all) are HD and some of them are from handbrake or Visualhub.
Why can't ATV play 5.1 sound? which I think it's the real problem. I have no 5.1 setbox device, I listen in streaming with my mac and watch smoothly synced movies with 2.0 sound. Should I have all my movies in 2.0 sound to play them? No 5.1 sound decode to 2.0 to listen it in my Samsung's flat TV?

Ian Parkinson has aqnswered to a question by me incorrectly. In Spain it's NOT illegal to do a private copy from a DVD which I own. I've lost some DVDs because I hacven't done any private copy. AppleTV lets me to do a private copy without to write a single DVD disc.
In Spain we have to pay a Canon to some "insatiable" artists asociation from letting us to do a copy from OUR bought DVDs.
So, please be informed before you post.
Again, my question. Do I need a external audio set box to listened the audio track for 5.1 audio, I thought it could be heard from TV speakers.

DVD Menu: Make Person On Background Movie Walk In Front Of Drop Zone?

This is the same idea as the iDVD theme - Fish.
In that, there is a photo frame at the bottom of a fish tank.
The inside of the frame is a drop zone.
A fish on the background/theme movie swims in front of the photo frame containing the movie you have dropped onto the drop zone.
It looks completely realistic and there is no translucency in the fish.
How is it done?

Just to make it clear, I can do the drop zones etc. it is just that I can't make something on the background movie pass in front of the drop zone.
When I tried it in DVDSP I had partial success by fiddling with the order of the layers but the "fish" was always translucent with the movie in the drop zone showing through it slightly.
I am sure it can be done in Motion?

Using Match Move with a filter?

I have a png of a magnifying glass. I want to create the cliché magnifying glass moving over type effect, bulging accordingly. The Bulge filter gives me the right look. But how do I get the magnifying glass and Bulge filter center to move together? I've tried Match Move, but all the type moves as well as the Bulge center. I've tried animating the Bulge center and copy/pasting its XY coordinates to the magnifying glass Group. Neither works.
Brain hurt. Help please.

You want to use the Track parameter behavior which—like other parameter behaviors—can be applied to any animatable parameter, such as the Bulge filter's centerpoint. There's even a handy shortcut: just right-click on the filter's centerpoint control in the Canvas, and you should see a popup menu appear with "Track" in it. Selecting that will apply Track and connect it to the centerpoint for you. You'll still need to pick a tracking target, etc, but it sounds like you already know to do that bit.

Is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 suitable for creating movies with sound?

        make a movie of me teaching a class and put in online
        (for an online course is one use);
        be able to edit video;
        add photos in;
        create podcasts and export say to mp3 and other types,
            automatically generating RSS feeds;
        be able to add the sound track to any video;
I think that Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 will do the job but I am
asking on this forum if it will do all the above?
Also, how would this software sync the sound created by me talking about what I currently have on the blackboard with the video?

Movie with Sound in Logic

I have a .mov file. I know how to open it in logic to do sound design work. Is there any way to open it in Logic and import the existing embedded sound without using Soundtrack Pro?

Sure - import the movie - go to the Options menue - choose "import Audio from movie" - done.

When using Skype my IPad sounds like ocean. This is not a problem when I am on FaceTime or using other apps with sound. Recently updated to newest IOS 7. First there was no sound for Kype and found that had to turn microphone sound on.

When using Skype my IPad 2 now sounds like the ocean and I can barely here my contact. This happened recently after IOS7 update. I did turn the microphone on for Skype as it was required after update. Now my sound is terrible but only a problem when using Skype video call. It is okay for FaceTime.

I am not sure what all changed when reset was applied to settings --- assume it defaults back to basic settings. I have no idea what I had customized, so will slowly figure out. I have noticed several things. So far I had to add back my wallpaper and reenter password to get back on my wi-fi.
At least SKYPE is now audible.

Failure on exporting Qt Mov with sound synced

I have 2 problems.
First, Keynote can only export Qt video by creating 2 files separately, one is for video, the other is sound track. But I need the combination. Plz HOW?
Second, even worse is that the video and the audio don't match properly. For the audio works fine but the slides move much slower as its normally played. it delays every time between the transition of two slides, which is especially obvious when there is no transition effect between the two.
It frustrates me for a whole week but I can't still find ways to fix it...
Is my wrong operation or the software *****?

That's what I thought and that is how things worked on the old G4 with FCP 3 but unfortunately there is now a significant difference between a self-contained and reference file movie. The colors in the self-contained movie are washed out and the deep blues are now light purple so there appears to be shifting in the hues also.

QT Plug-Ins (XviD Codec 1.0) Trying to play a quicktime movie with sound?

I have a movie I downloaded and cannot hear anything? I got a drop down pane telling me I needed a plug in so I downloaded "XviD" I read the read me file and placed the component in the proper place, I think Library/QuickTime and movie still does not play. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. please help and thanks in advance.

Firstly, ~/Library/quicktime may be case sensitive. (where ~ is your user's directory)
I downloaded XviD components from here http://n.ethz.ch/student/naegelic/download/ , along with the preferences app (same download).

Cant play mov with sounds, and partition problem

I can play my mov files on kaffeine but I don't have sound. Every others filetypes have sounds so what am I suppose to understand?
My partitions from fstab are always mounted for root only I'm always obligated to do a umount in root, and mount in my user shell to access my data from my partitions.
Here's my fstab:
/dev/discs/disc0/part1 /mnt/windows vfat defaults,rw,user 0 0
/dev/discs/disc0/part2 /mnt/things vfat defaults,rw,user 0 0

1. Make sure you have all codec packs installed in the Arch repo. No sound is because of a missing codec.
2. Since FAT doesn't have user permissions, the mounted partition is owned by the user who mounted the partition. Change your vfat lines to
/dev/discs/disc0/part1 /mnt/windows vfat defaults,rw,user,uid=tompouceuh,gid=users 0 0

IPad Loudspeaker hiss when using an app with sound. Is this normal?

Is it normal when an app that uses sound is launched (even the keyboard causes it) a very faint hiss sound is emitted from the iPad speaker? It is not constant either, only occurs when it's about to make a sound and for 5-6 seconds afterwards.
It is not loud, only fairly faint and can only be heard when the room is silent or you place your ear near the speaker.
Is this normal?

Yes it's only minor and I have tried resetting which has no effect.
For example, when I open up mail or safari and then the keyboard pop's up it has a faint hiss from the speaker which then disappears after 5 seconds until I press a key of which then triggers it to reappear. It sounds like the audio amplifier running the internal speaker has some hiss and to save battery life it turns the speaker off when it isn't needed (hence why it disappears after 4-5 seconds).
It is only noticeable in a very quiet room and I guess it doesn't help that I have fantastic hearing.
I guess it's no big problem and it doesn't happen when I use headphones but it's just something I'd like to check in case it's the sign of a fault.
