Using a new colour-palette in PSE10

Hi everyone,
I have a dutch version of PSE10, but all the dutch help pages do not seem to work and link to the english site, so here I am.
I added a new colour-palette (hope that's the correct name) for a project. Every time I try to add a new colour, PSE shuts down. When I add a colour to an existing palette, the program keeps working properly.
I allready had a chat with a help-desk person, I was told to rename the folder 10.0 to 10.0-old in (I think) the registry and then restart PSE. That didn't solve the problem. He told me to contact the dutch help-site, but as I told earlier, that doesn't work too well.
Is there anyone who can tell me how to solve this problem? The rest of PSE works okay and I really love to work with it.

Do you know if there are many PSE users who have this problem? And is somebody working on some buggfix?
I've used PS5 for many, many, many years, untill I bought a new PC with Windows 7, PS5 didn't like that. I bought PSE 'cause it does everything I need (and is also affordable ). This is in fact a minor problem, but as PSE has this possibility, I want to use it too.

Why does my RGB colour palette keep converting to CMYK, even though my document setup is RGB?

I have been sent some icons from another department in my company. They used the CMYK colour palette and saved the files as eps. I'm now traying to transfer these designs into my own document - new and setup as RGB. I've noticed now that it has converted back to CMYK.
I have created another blank document (RGB) and tested the two palettes side by side and they work just fine, but when I copy and paste the graphics it converts everything to CMYK.

Yep you're right that they are always global, I forgot that option isn't available when it is spot - so I'm not sure why you asked.
Yes I know that spot can be any colour mode - that's why I have the two colour palettes.
These have always worked perfectly before as spot and they make working with them much quicker and easier (usually), so I'm not sure why you think they don't make sense.

Create document to change colour of certain graphics using own colour palette

I want to create a flash document that allows me to change the colous of an image using a colour palette of my own. I am a complete beginner and have no idea where to start this, hence i would need to know what to do and how to do it.
I basically want the image to be a simple 2d image that i will create using different layers in photoshop and import them into flash, the layer images will all be one colour so the colour of the whole layer changes.
so the colour palette will be on the side of this and when i click on an image and then a colour the image changes to the colour i clicked.
I know how i have explained this is a bit hard to understanbd but any help is greatly appreciated.

the document is not for me to use but for me to give to a large group of peopleand they will themselves select their own colours, i want to be able to intergrate my own colour palette into it which will have hundereds of colours....very similar to a room planner kind of thing, where you select a colour and the object you selected changes to that colour, but i need it for somthing else.

Can I use a colour palette control to set the colour of an LED on front panel?

I want to allow the user of my LabView program to be able to set the colour of an enlarged LED on the front panel using a colour palette control also on the front panel. Is this possible or can the LED only be the colour it is set to in its properties dialogue box?

The question is of course: "Does it really need to be a boolean LED that has a True/False and all the boolean logic???
If you just want an LED lookalike where the color can be easily controlled programmatically I would recommend a color box indicator instead. You can even customized it to look like an LED! The attached example (LabVIEW 7.1) shows both methods, but the color box option is programmatically much less messy (no bundling, no array building, no property nodes!).
(To make the LED color box indicator, I customized a plain color box and simply imported the graphic elements from the regular LED indicator.)

Keynote - Export with colour palette

I am using Keynote 6.2.
I create a Presentation in Keynote named Preso 1. I create a colour Palette to use within the Preso. I save the document.
A work colleague needs to work on Keynote Document Preso 1.
I save on the server, my colleague opens it up to make changes.
The colour palette that I created within the Preso 1 document has vanished.
How do I save the Colour Palette within the doc so others can open and use it?

System Color Palettes are located in
~/Library/Colors
However, you're going to have to create a new palette by clicking "New" here:
A new palette "Unnamed" will be created. You can rename that palette by clicking the cog again and choosing "Rename..." Then, you'll need to click on the objects you want to capture the color of, and drag the color of those objects into the color chip area:
Once you've captured the color, you can even rename it something that indicates where it's normally used, providing more information to the recipient than just the color.
Once you've captured all the colors you need, go to ~/Library/Colors and you'll see a .clr file as you named it. Place that file in your server location and direct the recipient to go into their Color Picker, choose "Open..." and select that file. It'll be automatically transferred to the system color picker and that set of colors will be available for any application on your system.
If you ever make any updates to your palette that you want to share, you can send a new .clr file, but if it has the same name as the old one and will be imported as "name 2". So, either rename it before you send (perhaps with a date so everyone knows this is the latest version) or tell them to click the cog to "Remove" the old one before Opening the new one. Probably cleaner doing it the old way so you don't have a lot of palettes lying around.

Importing Entire Colour Palettes into Swatch Library?

Nice to meet you all, my first post here.
I'm a very basic user of InDesign 5 and know enough to enable me to achieve the very rudimentary goals that I need InDesign for.
Could someone please tell me how to import/load an entire swatch colour library instead of adding just one colour at a time?
If I click on the menu in the Swatch palette and go to New Colour Swatch and then choose a particular colour mode, I only seem to be able to add one colour at a time, I want all of them loaded at once?

OK, well I see why you want them then and there's probably no reason not to. Illustrator works sort of like that, if you have it (Illy) you could open up a colour library, export from there an ASE file of it, then import into InDesign. In fact I just did it and here's an ASE file of Pantone Solid Coated Swatches. Go to the swatches menu in InDesign and choose Load swatches then select the file. Change the view to Small Swatch for ease of use.

How do I switch between the tint slider and CMYK slider under the colour palette?

I have a number of process colours loaded in my swatches palette and when I select a colour and have the colour palette on show it defaults to the tint slider. I have the option from the flyout to change to CMYK but when I do this how do I change back to the tint slider?

Once you edit the color of the object in the Color panel using the sliders you no longer have the swatch applied because you've change the color as a local override. You could add the new color to swatches, or if your intent is to globally change a swatch you sould do it in the swatch definition dialog.

I need your help. I am new to JetForm and have to use it because of my work. Recently I have been assigned a task which is to amend an existing form, however, when I opened it with the JetForm Designer, it prompted me with message #4043 with following information:
The current settings for Symbol Set handling are different
from when the form was last saved.
Form: Convert is Yes,950,950
Current: Convert is Yes,1252,850
I skipped the warning message and just compile the MDF file directly without any changes. Then, I just got the "jfmerge: [240]Failure loading colour palette from form file." error message during the printing process. May I know how could I fix it? Please help and advise.

I suppose it is due to chinese characters (Simsun font) bad installed on my desktop, but it is only hypothesis.
Did you achieve to avoid this message since 05/2011 ?

Custom colour palette in Keynote for iOS?

Is there some workaround that would let me create a custom colour palette in Keynote for iOS? Importing a PPT slide seems to change the palette, so I assume it's possible, but I don't want to have to use PPT just to set up Keynote! Ideally, I'd like to be able to import a Kuler palette into the iOS app using only the iPad (I don't have a Mac).

FOUND THE SOLUTION:
I had this same problem and this resolved it for me:
-Go to your "Settings" icon and click on the "General" tab.
-About 2/3 way down the page you will see "Use side switch to:" - make sure "mute" is checked rather than "lock rotation."
-Then make sure the side switch, located next to the volume toggle switch on the side of your ipad, is moved to the right (no red dot showing).
My audio worked fine in embedded videos after I did those two things. Hope it works for you.

I can import the PDF by creating a new document and finding the PDF in places, but it's bad quality.
The only colour profile I can find under View - Proof Setup is FOGRA39, but I need FOGRA27!

Proof Colors doesn't change the file's color management, it just lets you see what the color values would look like if they are printed unchanged on different output devices. If you want to actually convert the color from one CMYK space to another, it's probably better to do that in Acrobat—Tools>Print Production>Convert Colors.
There's very little difference between Fogra27 and Fogra39—Fogra27 allows more total ink 350 vs. 330.

Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Colour Engine??

When I am playing back a set of recorded actions, I receive a message that says "Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Colour Engine". This occurs after I copy a part of an image to paste it onto a new file. It occurs during the "Make" part(making a new file) and I was just wondering how to fix it.

It's a known (but esoteric) bug in Photoshop CS5 and earlier, seen with grayscale images. It used to crash utterly, but after I reported it I think they patched Photoshop 12.0.something to avoid the crash. However, the step still fails when you make a new grayscale image in an action.
I saw it because I created an action to paste the clipboard into new document, all in one motion. It virtually always works as long as I have a colored image in the clipboard. But not grayscale.
One workaround, which is not particularly convenient, is to turn on prompting for the Make new image step. I haven't used this workaround for a while, but it used to be that if you confirmed the "File New" operation manually it would continue and work. I don't know if the workaround is still valid.

Eye Dropper, Colour Palette and Adjustment Layers?

Hi guys,
I tend to need to change the colour of various items in images (usually because I want something in the image to be a corporate colour.
My old technique used to be something along this line:
Open image
Ensure the colour palette is visible
Convert to CMYK (or not)
Create curves or channel mixer adjustment layer
Eye dropper the image on a pixel I wanted to change
Manipulate the adjustment layer and watch the colour feedback from the colour palette
When the colour palette said rughly the right colour values--job done!
My problem is, whenever I eye dropper the image it tells me the current colour; but when I go back to manipulating the adjustment layer the colour palette nop longer gives me live colour value feedback like it used to in CS3. This change occured when the Adjustments Palette was introduced
This has been driving me crazy ever since CS4 came out (infact, I ignored CS4 because of it).
Is there anyway to restore live feedback???

Try something like this:
1. Make the curves adjustment layer
2. Click on the curve adjustment layer thumbnail in the layers panel
(not the layer mask, but the curve icon to the left of the layer mask)
3. Manually select the eyedrooper tool in the toolbox and ctrl click in the image to set the
point or points on the curve.
When you adjust the curve from inside the curves panel, you should be able to see the
changes in the color panel.
For the channel mixer, click on the channel mixer icon and then click inside the image with the eyedropper tool
and you should be able to see the changes in the color panel when you move the sliders.

hi philly, thanks for getting back to me, especially on such a busy day.
I don't think that's quite the issue though. I bought an album and it appears in 'my purchases' within the itunes app. Yet, in order to listen to the music, i must use the 'music' app and in this application, there are only three tracks displayed at any one time from my downloaded album.
I can 'download all' from the 'my purchases' section but that still doesn't help, it just keeps the last three tracks downloaded in the music app.
I have the 'icloud' enabled and wondered if it had anything to do with that.
i have successfully downloaded another full album totally into the music app, but this first album is causing me problems.
