Using a PDA to store results data from Compact FP?

Is it possible to use a PDA as a front end display for a Labview RT application running on a Compact FP system? I also want to write the results data from the Compact FP app to the PDA RAM Drive.
I am just quoting this system but any details as to whats required to do this would be helpful.

Yes it is possible. Compact FieldPoint RT controllers have ethernet and serial ports that could be used to communicate with PDA's. Communication through TCP or serial can be done in LabVIEW RT just as it is done in regular LabVIEW. National Instruments currently does not have any tools for PDA's specifically for this, so you would have to take care of the PDA programming and communication yourself. But to the Compact FieldPoint it would just be talking to a serial or ethernet device.

Today, my FCC complaint hit the same person working on the BBB complaint. Jimmie has been very nice and seems willing to work with this problem. We have been able to come to an agreement. I paid the purchase price for the phone and he returned my upgrade and unlimited data plan. This is what would have occurred if Verizon had given me correct information to begin with. I am happy with this result. He also brought quite a few instances concerning the handling of my transfer and upgrade that did not follow proper procedure. I am also confident that I would not have resolved this without complaining to BBB and or FCC. Verizon had no interest in solving the problem nor did they show any propensity to keeping a 20 year client. Even though this last CSR was very polite and helpful, his sole job is to respond to formal Federal and State complaints. He is required by law to address every complaint and report the reporting agency the agreed upon results - good or bad. Again, I suggest - If you are not getting the proper customer service, complain to someone outside of Verizon. Jimmie had not received any complaints registered with Verizon directly and I still have not had any contact with any other management representative that I was told would call.

If you want that without code, i suppose there is a option in MS-Access to import data from Excel, so you have to first export to excel and then import to Access.
If you want to code it yourself then have a look at FM TABLE_EXPORT_TO_MSACCESS, as said in Exporting Data from R/3 to MS ACCESS

Multiple select queries used in Excel BI report ,fetching data from Sharepoint DB(SP2010_Prod_ProjectServer) causing blockage on DB ,when more than one workbook(same copy of Excel BI Report) refreshed using Refresh All option.

I am using mutiple select queries to fetch data from Project Server 2010 DB(its sharepoint DB) and these queries fetch data in Excel BI report by establishing connection with DB using instance name and all. I have enhance all these select queries and data
is being fetched in secs. but when more than one copy of same Excel BI report is refreshed using 'Refresh All' option, then these select queries cause blockage on DB.
Please let me know mitigation for this blockage issue.
Should I use begin transaction and commit transaction statements/ shared lock statements.

I'm using labview to collect AE streaming data from pacpci2.I have the dll from PAC,and I have written some VIs for streaming data. Now I don't know how to read data to my program from the pci.Can the "getMessage" function do this?

My Time Machine now shows the earliest available Back-up to be after the Migration Date.   My iPhoto pictures seem to have either been lost in the migration process or are locked in my Time Machine prior to the earliest back-up date now accessible.
Any advice on recovering my old iPhoto pictures would be greatly appreciated.

First go to iPhoto Preferences, look in both General and Advanced tabs to make sure that things are set to import from camera into iPhoto.
Then if that doesn't help, connect the camera and open Image Capture in your Applications > Utilities folder and see if you can use Image Capture to reset the import path from the camera to iPhoto.

Can i use OER to store the data from a excel sheet that pertains to the entire integrations ?

i know that the OER can be used to view the entire landscape for the SOA composites and how they are related with each other. However we have a requirement wherein we need to store the data for the entire integration end systems e.g. ebiz, mfgpro, siebel etc ( that is we need to store data one level up).
Also, we want a customized form in OER wherein user can manually add data regarding the integrations.
So is it possible to do so ? If yes, how ?

ok, let me put it this way,
I tried using the import/export utility available under OER admin tab.
When i export my existing assets it generates the .xml file for each asset. Now as i have hundreds on new assets to be created for each asset type i want to be able to create a new .xml file and want it to create the new asset once i import it using import utility. I tried creating a new .xml file giving it a new UUID but it does not seem to work. Has anyone tried this earlier who can give the steps to do this ?

Use VC707 flash to store raw data

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to use the flash memory on the VC707 to store a filesystem (in MFS format).
According to xapp587 (specific for the VC707) I can use impact to write a MCS file to the board.
I'm creating the MCS file with promgen but I have several issues:
1. First of all, I really just wanted to write an MFS file directly to the flash using Impact indirect programming (as per xapp587)
2. Writting and MCS file works, but after writting, impact reports:
'1': Configuration data download to FPGA was not successful. DONE did not go
high, please check your configuration setup and mode settings.
3. Regardless, the MCS file is written but now my data is packaged into the MCS format (I guess?) that I'd really rather not deal with. I just want to write an MFS file, as is, to the flash.
4. I can also use promgen to generate a .bin file from a raw txt file with some ascii on it (for testing purposes)
4.1 impact hangs when writting this .bin file to the board, I have to forcefuly power down the board
4.2 If I do this without either the "-v" or "-loadfpga" switches, impact simply crashes (I get a windows crash report etc)
4.3 Although I have to forcefully kill impact, the data is written to the flash (I'm reading it via microblaze)

I don't want to read the MFS directly from flash.
I want to write it in raw state to the flash then copy it to the DDR at boot, so then I can read it normally (i.e. memory mapped).
Basically I'm looking for a way to write data to the flash via impact. Not bitstreams or elfs, just data files.
I find it very odd that impact detects the flash on the VC707 but its impossible to write files other than MCS or ELF or BIT.

Using DBLINK in ABAP to retreive data from externam system

The basis team has created a dblink 'DBL_TEST.YY.XXX.COM'.
Now I have to fetch data from another non-sap external system using this dblink only. Cannot have any entry in DBCON.
I know the procedure of retreiving data using DBCON entry. But since DBCON will not be used here, so I have to use the DBLINK to get data from an external oracle table (say, ZTEST).
I need the procedure to implement the logic in abap program.

My problem is now solved. We created views @the database level, and fetched data using the database view in Native SQL.

Using a caculated field to get data from another table.

I have a Products Table that I need to add a field to. This field gains data from a Supplier table by using the supplier code to find the correct supplier type. All Products have a Supplier Code. So for example in SQL this would be a simple where statement looking something like this.

From Supplier , Product
Where Supplier.Code = Product.SupplierCode
And ProductID = someID

If you only want to do this linking for display purposes, then consider the following possibility:
The main Products table has a field which looks up to the flat table Suppliers. The flat table Suppliers has a field that either A) looks up to a flat SupplierTypes table or B) is a normal field in which the supplier type is stored. Inside the flat Suppliers table, just set both the SupplierCode and SupplierType fields to be display fields. MDM will automatically display both pieces of data inside the single field in the Products table.
If you need the SupplierType in a separate field then you cannot do this with an expression (calculation or assignment.) You'll need to write a piece of code using one of the MDM APIs in order to do this lookup.

Using SELECT INTO statement to transfer data from one DB to another?

Hello,
I need to move data from an SAP table to another downstream SQL server box without flat file in between. I have set up the DBCON interface, so that my ABAP code on SAP can connect to the remote SQL Server, then I can run INSERT command as Native SQL inside the ABAP.
However, INSERT has performance problem. The best performer as I can find is SELECT INTO statement. But then I am stuck at how to use SELECT INTO to query my local SAP table and send (via INTO) to remote database. I am not even sure whether I should use Open SQL or Native SQL.
Any suggestion? BTW, I understand the limitation of Native SQL, but we are OK to use it.

It appears that this is some kind of migration project due to the scope of the data contained in the single file? If so whatever you do is like ly to be trow away once the migration of data is completed.
You have a couple of options:
1) Get the data extracted from HFM in multiple files instead of one bulk file, broken down by scanario,year & period
2) Take the single data dump file produced by FDM and manipulate it yourself to get the data in a more usuable format for processing through FDM.
Option 2 could be achieved via any ETL tool or a custom file parsing script. What may be more attractive to you and allow you to fully leverage your investment in FDM is that you could use the PULL adapter that ships as part of the FDM adapter suite to perform this transformation exercise. The PULL adapter takes a flat file input and allows you to use all the in built functionality of FDM to transform it and output a modified flat file (or series of flat files). You could use it to produce multioload files or a series of files broken down by scenario,year,period.
Whatever you do I would suggest that break the single data file down into smaller chunks as this will help with the iterative debugging process you will inevitably have to undetake whislt migrating the data to the new application.

How to use the readLine() method when reading data from a URL?

I would like to get the data from this URL but at the same time I would like to be able to use readLine() method of BufferedReader in order to read the data line by line.

Lock objects are use in SAP to avoid the inconsistancy at the time of data is being insert/change into database.
SAP Provide three type of Lock objects.
- Read Lock(Shared Locked)
protects read access to an object. The read lock allows other transactions read access but not write access to
the locked area of the table
- Write Lock(exclusive lock)
protects write access to an object. The write lock allows other transactions neither read nor write access to
the locked area of the table.
- Enhanced write lock (exclusive lock without cumulating)
works like a write lock except that the enhanced write lock also protects from further accesses from the
same transaction.
You can create a lock on a object of SAP thorugh transaction SE11 and enter any meaningful name start with EZ Example EZTEST_LOCK.
Use: you can see in almost all transaction when you are open an object in Change mode SAP could not allow to any other user to open the same object in change mode.
Example: in HR when we are enter a personal number in master data maintainance screen SAP can't allow to any other user to use same personal number for changes.
Technicaly:
When you create a lock object System automatically creat two function module.
1. ENQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. to insert the object in a queue.
2. DEQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. To remove the object is being queued through above FM.
You have to use these function module in your program.

Steps: first we create a loc object in se11 . Suppose for a table mara. It will create two functional module.:

before updating any table first we lock the table by calling enque_lockobject fm and then after updating we release the lock by deque_lockobject.
Select the radio button "Lock object"..
Give the name starts with EZ or EY..
Example: EYTEST
Press Create button..
Give the short description..
Example: Lock object for table ZTABLE..
In the tables tab..Give the table name..
Example: ZTABLE
Save and generate..
Your lock object is now created..You can see the LOCK MODULES..
In the menu ..GOTO -> LOCK MODULES..There you can see the ENQUEUE and DEQUEUE function
