Using a SharePoint CMS connection for DITA

I'm experimenting with a CMS connection to SharePoint in FrameMaker 10, for DITA work, and I have several questions.
1. When I create a new DITA topic, I don't have an option to "Browse CMS" and save the file there. This option is present when I create a regular FM document. Am I missing something in the FM-DITA setup?
2. How do you check in a file with a comment, save the changes, and spawn a new version all at once? Everything I've tried either loses the changes, fails to add a comment, or reverts the version to 1.0. Can someone provide step-by step instructions?
3. Is there any way I can search in FrameMaker for custom SharePoint metadata ("columns") created in the Document Library -- columns such as "Audience" or "Product"? The Advanced Search options don't show these columns.

So, I followed your steps, creating a document library and then adding the "Link to a Document" content type.
Then, I used the ribbon function to open up an explorer window. Into that window, I attempted to drag a shortcut from my desktop.
In response, I got this error:

Error 0x800700DE: The file type being saved or retrieved has been blocked.
I can use a "New Document" to create an entry in the page. However, that entry is a .aspx file.
The user who I have been working with is trying to create a library of .url files that he could then sync to a desktop.
I know how to go into central admin and unblock .url files.
I just don't know why they would be blocked in the first place, and whether there is some other kind of web part or thing I could create that would allow him to create a library of links that could be synced to a folder.
Are there any other out of the box ways of performing this?

Is it OK to use a USB 2.0 connection for Glyph external drive and Mac Pro as project drive? I was told by Sweetwater tech support to use Firewire, but both the FW400 and FW800 connections crash my audio interface software mixer (Presonus' "Universal Control" software).
Both Firewire connections also create a 10 second hang for each Command-Save that I do.
USB 2.0 for the external drive seems to be working so far, but is there some reason I should be wary of using this as my go-to project drive? In other words, I am imagining that there was probably some definite reason that the tech support guy mentioned not to use it. But maybe not. It's a brand new Glyph. In any event, it's nice to have the 10 second hang eliminated, and I was just looking for some advice, since digging into the Presonus software issue could take some time.

If you have a mac pro, why not stick the external HDD inside via one of your many SATA cables & have it run 9 times faster than your USB?
Or stick a HDD CADDY in your mac pro, so you can slot in a full sized 3TB HDD for recording, and when you are done, pull it out & slip it in an external enclosure if you need to take it places?

Using Nokia 1200 CA45 connection for data transfer

I have a USB CA45 connector but am unable to connect my 1200 to PC for data transfer. Is this simply because this entry level phone is not able to connect to PC. If so why does it have a CA45 connector installed?

About my problem above, i followed the process below which is written in the user guide :
"So that you can use a connection by cable, a pilot of cable of data USB must be installed on your PC. You can use the Transfert functionality of data without installing of pilot of cable of data USB. Select Menu > Connectiv. > Câble USB. You can connect your apparatus to a compatible PC using a cable of data USB.
Connect the cable of data USB on the basis of the apparatus. To

The USB cable used is a Nokia device.

Why would you want to spend $1700 on a SATA enclosure
and then be "cheap" on the SATA host adapter to run
it? This expensive 5 bay uses FW800 or SATA. Why not
use FW800 if you don't have a SATA host adapter.
I'm not trying to be cheap here. As I said, I have no PCI slots available. I use Pro Tools HD3 & all my slots are full. I will use FW800 if needed, but speed of SATA would be great.

Time capsule - use as wi-fi connection for mac pro to the internet

i recently purchased a mac pro 2.8/ 2Gb/ 320 HD
it did not come with a wireless card.
today i bought a time capsule and want to use it to connect my mac to my wireless internet connection from my modem (dsl) via the time capsule. i have connected the time capsule to my mac via ethernet.
the internet is not working. can anybody help me please?
i have managed to get the ethernet connected and active.
when i look at "network diagnostics" ethernet is green, network settings is green and isp is green. but internet is red (failed) and service is red.
please help

Yes. It sounds like your modem is actually a combination modem & wireless router instead. Unfortunately, creating a WDS between this device and the TC will be unlikely successful ... so the only alternative (without buying anything else) would be to connect the TC to the modem via Ethernet.
this is frustrating as the apple store i bought the TC from in Osaka, Japan, would not sell me an airport card to install myself.
I believe this is because the AirPort card for your model of Mac Pro is not considered a User-installable item by Apple. I'm surprised they didn't offer to do the install for you.
then, as a solution said that i could use the TC to do what i described above.
Although they were partially correct that it can be done with the TC, it appears that they didn't provide the complete picture on how to do it.

How to close a model object connection for Adaptive RFC?

I'm calling two update RFC one after another in a single WebDynpro program. I like to close the session/connection after calling the first RFC. I'm using twp separate JCo connection for calling these two RFCs. Still I find both the RFCs are called in the same session.
Is there any way to close the JCo session from the code?

If you want the framework to control the opening and closing of the connections , then use TASK_SCOPE when initializing the modelobjects ,in which case the connection will remain open, for the lifecycle of a single call.
The intialization should be as below

Remotedesktop connection for mac

Hi there,
I frequently used RDV (Remote Desktop Connection for Mac) to access my old PC with Windows XP over my WLAN network and via cable over LAN from my mac book pro.
Now i bought a mac mini (latest) and installed Win7 with bootcamp. I need to access it remotely from my mac book pro so i tried Remote Desktop Connection. It works over my local WLAN network, BUT it dosn't work over LAN.
Which are the correct settings to use a LAN cable and the RDV that it works properly?
mac book pro with OSX ---- LAN cable ---- mac mini with win7 (bootcamp)

Yeah I'm aware of this fact. It seems to me that you don't have that much experience with networks.
The IP address I mentioned was the IPv4, I set manually to 10.0.0.1 /255 255 255 0 on one computer, and to 10.0.0.2 on the other. The sub net has to be the same that they are able to to talk to each other.
I also found the error, then when i send a ping, the computers were connected. So my other guess was, that it could be a firewall problem, and indeed it was. I allowed the remote desktop for everyone in the firewall settings and now MS RDC is able to connect over LAN to the mac mini.

What port do I use in setting a FrameMaker CMS connection to a SharePoint site?

I can connect to our corporate SharePoint site to a top level directory but I can't drill down to subdirectories. I do have the proper permissions since I can see all of the directories through our SharePoint site. I can add/delete/rename etc. using the SharePoint interface. I am trying to connect to a subdirectory on our SharePoint server that contains FrameMaker files. When I enter the domain, username, password, etc., it does connect but only to the top directory level and I can't drill down to subdirectories. I was wondering is there anything else I need to do in setup such as a port number. I have my CMS configuration setup with no port number. When I had a local SharePoint server this worked just fine and I could drilldown to any subdirectory.
I have put the entire URL to the subdirectory but it does not let me connect I get a 404 error. It does let me connect to the top level directory but, as I said, I can't drilldown to where the FM files reside.

Not sure if it would help, but it's worth asking: When you provide your user name, do you include the domain (e.g. mydomain\myusername)?

I want to build SSRS report that uses this sharepoint list as datasource.
My connection string to the site URL must be dynamic as each project site URL will be different.

Using external hard drive connected to desktop as time machine disk for laptop

I recently purchased an external hard drive for the purpose of backing up my laptop and desktop macs. Both are running Mountain Lion (10.7.5). The desktop is physically connected to both the hard drive and to my modem. I have enabled pretty much every sharing option on both the laptop and desktop. When my router crapped out I began just using the internet sharing capabiilty.
I have been able to chose the desktop as the disk for backing up my laptop, but I want to use the hard drive (connected to the desktop) as the disk. I cant figure out how to do this yet. I can easily access the hard drive by using either the "connect as user" option. I thought that perhaps I could broadcast the connection somehow as an airport connection, but I don't know how to, or if this is even possible.
The desktop is a mac mini, and the laptop is a macbook pro. Both were purchased in mid 2011.

Screen sharing setup in 10.5, 10.6 are described by the links by operating system. 10.7 is fairly similar to 10.6.
And if both Macs have Firewire, you can setup a Firewire over IP network for fast communication between machines. Note if you have two different Firewire ports a 6 pin to 9 pin Firewire cable does exist. There are no Firewire to USB cables.

Performance degradation using Jolt ASP Connectivity for TUXEDO

We have a customer that uses Jolt ASP Connectivity for TUXEDO and is suffering
from a severe performance degradation over time.
Initial response times are fine (1 s.), but they tend to increase to 3 minutes
after some time (well, eh, a day or so).
Data:
- TUXEDO 7.1
- Jolt 1.2.1
- Relatively recent rolling patch installed (so no there are probably no JSH performance
issues and memory leaks as fixed in earlier patches)
The ULOG shows that during the night the JSH instances notice a timeout on behalf
of the client connection and do a forced shutdown of the client:

This happens every 10 minutes as per configuration of the JSL (-T flag).
The customer "solved" the problem for the time being by increasing the connection
pool size on the IIS web server.
However, they didn't find a "smoking gun" - no definite cause for the problem.
So, it is debatable whether their "solution" suffices.
It is my suspicion the problem might be located in the Jolt ASP classes running
on the IIS.
Maybe the connection pool somehow loses connections over time, causing subsequent
users having to queue before they get served (although an exception should be
raised if no connections are available).
However, there's no documentation on the functioning of the connection pool for
Jolt ASP.
My questions:
1) What's the algorithm used for managing connections with Jolt ASP for TUXEDO?
2) If connections are terminated by a JSH, will a new connection be established
from the web server automatically? (this is especially interesting, because the
connection policy can be configured in the JSL CLOPT, but there's no info on how
this should be handled/configured by Jolt ASP connectivity for TUXEDO)

Yes tried resetting the wifi connection and problem still persist.
Here it is...to make it clear. Connected thru the same wifi at home...
-> emails (yahoo/gmail) and facebook WEBSITES are working fine and fast when using/accessing thru a browser (chrome/samsung browser) - no problem with this.
-> emails (yahoo/gmail) and facebook APP is soooooo sloooww (thru the App). Slow I mean comparing it to using their browser/websites... news feeds/emails refreshing so quickly but not when using the APP installed in Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Slow like - It will take around 5-10minutes just to get your emails and news feed refreshed.
THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN CONNECTED THRU A WIFI which has a speed of 10-20mb. It is not happening when connected to the network data/plan.
My wife has the same Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (coming from different provider at&t) - same setup (emails, fb app), same wifi connection, but she's not experiencing anything like it.
Not sure why, I dont want to believe that while connected to a WIFI, Verizon is restricting anything and ******* me off to make me switch to my data plan connection everytime - which is Unfair!
Was there a known issue similar about this case?

I'm developing a web application for Office365 using the SharePoint 2013 REST service.
This app is hosted by my web server. The development language is Java.
I plan that users in any tenant use my app via OAuth.
How can I register my app to get clientId for OAuth?
I attempted to register my app by seller dashboard, but it seemed like register applications
to seller dashboard should be developed by .NET. And I couldn't use appregnew.aspx
because cilentId from appregnew.aspx could use only in one tenant.
Please let me know any better way to register my app.

SharePoint 2013 provide three types of app, SharePoint-hosted app, Provider-hosted app and Autohosted app. Which one do you used?
