Using a Verizon Lte phone in Europe with local SIM

I have a Verizon iPhone 4S and travel to France frequently. I am able to use my phone with a local French SIM, and it works fine. I am planning to get an iPhone 6, which will be 4G Lte. Will I be able to use that phone in France the same way I can use my 4S, which uses a micro sim card?

Thank you, but that isn't what I'm asking. I know it will be unlocked. As I said, I have an iPhone 4S, which I use in France. I am not familiar, having never used it, with 4G Lte technology, and what I was wondering was whether the Verizon iPhone 6, with that technology, will be able to use a local SIM in France. Do they make those phones, Verizon LTE, with two radios, LTE and GSM? Is it a GSM SIM that one would use in France, or is there only one SIM, which could be temporarily replaced with a local SIM?
Thanks again for your answer.

Only if the device is unlocked. Not all US devices are unlocked, as you probably know.

    Dear sir
I bought my iPhone 4 from Apple store in Charlotte N/C about 2years ago without contract.
Now I tried to upgrade it to iOS 7.0.4.but after that my phone not work with last sim card.
And invalid sim appeared.so I bought it without contract but it seems to be lock in my country
Please tell me whats the matter?
    My phone serial no  86034HTCA4T
    Modem firmware  04.12.09
    Thanks

Without contract is not the same as unlocked. The update to iOS 7 relocked
the iPhone to the wireless carrier to which it was originally locked. You must
contact that wireless carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
If you used jailbreak or other hack to unlock the iPhone initially, the method
used may prevent a legitimate unlock from succeeding and may render your
    iPhone unuseable.

  • I bought iphone in the USA. Unlocked 4s, however it is not working in Europe with my sim! What to do now?

I bought iPhone 4s uncloked in the US. However it is not working in the Europe with my sim.  What are my option to get it working?

Look, all CDMA iPhone 4S's are carrier locked...all...fact is, no CDMA iPhone 4S can be unlocked. While the sim slot can be unlocked, this must be authorized by the CDMA carrier the phone is locked to, & no CDMA carrier will authorize such unless you are a customer in good standing...not the case with you.
This phone is useless to you...to get the sim slot unlocked you would have had to sign up for service in the US first.
    Return it for a refund.
    Good luck.

  • Can I use a Verizon flashed phone on a Alltel plan?

Well, I am in search for a new phone, and was wondering if i can used one that is flashed to Verizon on a Alltel plan with out having to change my plan to Verizon. Here if you didn't understand, i'm using a Alltel phone with a Alltel plan on the Verizon network, i have not changed the plan because apperently i would have to pay for a data plan or something. Would I be able to use a Verizon phone with out compromising my plan? The phone I plan on getting does not need a data plan for it to run.

If it is a smartphone you will need a data plan regardless if it is Verizon branded.  You can keep  your Altell plan for the most part.

  • What are my options for using my Verizon iPhone 6 in Europe next summer?

I just bought an iPhone 6 through Verizon.  Will I be able to use it during my trip to Europe next summer?  Is there website somewhere that tells me what I need to do? The Verizon website seems totally unhelpful on this subject, and so far I'm not having luck Googling for specifics.

Can i use the Phone with indian Local sim?  will it work ?
Verizon customer support told me 4G LTE phones are unlocked by nature , so i dont need to do anything , just insert any other SIM card and it will work fine
I am not sure on it , can some one clarify ?
Also , I see indian SIM card are big in size and Current SIM card is smaller
    -GJ

    Hi ,
Lets forget the size issue , i can trim the SIM and manage .

  • Can I unblock the iPad mini to use in other countries in Latin America with another SIM Card?

I recently was in Panama and found out I could unlock my iPhone 5S to use it with a SIM card from a local phone company including data.
Can this be done with the iPad mini? Or with any iPad? It would be great if I can unblock it and work with my iPad without the need of wi fi.

    iPads are sold unlocked.

  • HT201328 I am going to India, the ATT says the is unlocked and follow the procedure back up,erase, insert new sim, restore.  Is it that simple?  Will there be any problem when igo to India with local SIM card?  How to find out compatibility of local SIM car

I am going to India.  ATT says phone is unlocked.  Can I use local SIM card to use my i phone5?  Will there be any compatibility problem.

If AT&T authorized your unlock, you received the email from them giving you instructions to unlock and you followed those instructions, followed by a message in iTunes saying Congratulations, your iPhone is now unlocked, then you will have no issues using a local SIM. However, your warranty is only good in the US, and it may not support all of the bands in India, especially LTE.

  • Using US 110V AirPort Express in Europe with 220V?

    Hello all,
I want to use my 110 V Air Port Express (US Version) in Europe at 220V.
I know, that the sticker on the Express module says "110V".
I also found the tech specs, which state usage from 110V to 240V (http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/specs.html)
And, I know that my power supply for my MacMini says 110V on the sticker as well, the tech specs state 110 to 240 V and it indeed works fine with 240V.
I ASSUME that the airport express will be just fine - but it would be nice if someone could confirm. No need to fry more devices than nescessary....
    Any help/input is greatly appreciated...

the express will handle the power issue quite well. however, i'm not sure if you don't run into problems with the channels it is broadcasting on. from the AX tech specs:

  • I paid full price for my unlocked phone to be able to use it when I travel overseas. Now I'm in Indonesia and I can't use my phone with local sim card. Why?

As above.  This is really starting to **** me off.

Perhaps you didn't a actually buy an "unlocked" iPhone, you just bought one "without contract" - they are both "full price".
    Where did you buy it?

  • US AT&T iPhone4 (iOS5) -- use in England with local SIM card?

I will be travelling to England for several weeks.
Can I use my US AT&T iPhone4 (iOS5) by purchasing a SIM card from a U.K. based company?
Are there any resources on how to do this, and what is the best network  (London, Somerset, Cornwall, Kent)
    Thanks.
    Rick

Am I correct in reading that the "jailbreaking" software isn't reliable on iOS5 to allow a person to unlock the phone, and insert/use another SIM?
If that's true, is my only option with this phone to purchase a travel plan with AT&T that will work in England?
Thanks for the advice!  It's appreciated.
