Using a View multiple times in a Window

Hi,
In my default view I've got a tabstrip with 3 tabs. I've created 3 different view containers elements in each tab as I want to embed another view (ie VIEW_1) in these containers. However, I'm getting the following error.
View VIEW_1 Is Already Displayed in Window W_WINDWOW of Component ZW_COMP.
How can I solve this?

Create separate views. You can't repeate the same view (actively) within a window. Do you have some reuable section that you want to appear in each tab? The perhaps you should palce it in the parent view before the view Containers or use a separate component for the usable section (you can have multiple component usages of the same component within one window).

Ability to view multiple files in ONE window

I can see here that this is not a new topic really but the thing with Acrobat 9 is so frustrating that it is just unbelievable.
This is another pearl:
Acrobat 9 "lost" its predecessors ability to view multiple files in ONE window. After opening four only documents I cannot see anything on the screen because the toolbars on each individual window cover all necessary view and nothing is left for the actual document. And sometimes I need to open 20 documents!
This is ABSOLUTE DISASTER!!!
I found some explanations from Adobe on the Web that are more than a year old.
I was sure that by now this unfortunate mishandling of that feature (apparently it was dropped out from A9 deliberately - WHO'S IDEA WAS THAT?) would be somehow restorable.
Would anyone happen to know if this feature can get restored to how it was working in A7 or 8 (without the need to uninstall A9 and install A8)?

No, it can't be restored, unless Adobe decides to change the way Acrobat works (which is possible, but not likely).
By the way, it was Microsoft's idea... Adobe were just following their example on this.

Using an account multiple times on financial template SBO

I am trying to add a account multiple times on one financial template in SBO version 9.0 PL: 07
The situation is we are building a notes section of the P&L where we represent the account as part of a total and later at the bottom again in more detail.
Example: Account# 6100005 'Audit' is included in a total professional fees near the top of the template as part of the 'Professional Services' section, and later in the template in a 'detail' section I want to display it as part of 'Audit and Accounting Fees'.
The account is marked in the chart of accounts>G/L Account Details to 'Allow multiple linking to Financial Statements'
Am I missing a setting somewhere else? When I lookup the account on the template, it does not show available (since it is already used on this template) and when I try to enter the account by typing the whole number in, it gives me the message: 'In "Account Number" field, enter account number not in use.
Wondering if there is a setting somewhere else that I need to mark/check to allow using an account multiple times on a P&L financial template.

It is most likely (I'm not certain from the description) that
the 'sub-buttons' are a 'child' MC of the main button? if so, the
'on' handler for the 'main' button will override any handlers
attached to 'child' buttons within it. the only solution is to use
a hitTest method for either the 'parent' button or the 'child'
buttons, OR separate the two MCs and use the 'main' button to bring
a MC of the 'sub' buttons to the Stage.

Unable to use same dimension multiple time for a MOLAP cube?

Hi,
I am designing a MOLAP cube that uses the date dimension twice (start/end) but when selecting dimensions for the cube, it doesn't accept the 2nd time I select the date dimension.
In the date dimension design I gave it 2 role names for this purpose.
The error that comes up is: The MOLAP storage type does not support multiple references to the same dimension.
Now I just found out that the User Guide states: Dimension roles can be created for dimensions that have a relational implementation only.
So how does OWB support implementation of a startdate and enddate in one cube?
Do we have to duplicate the date dimension in MOLAP multiple times? (Multiple deployment and population using the name of the role??)
What solutions/work-arounds are in use out there? Any help is appreciated.

It keeps asking because they are recorded in the database and it can't find them. So they have been delete from outside iPhoto, and iPhoto doesn't know this.
Simple fix: put the files back where iPhoto expects them to be. Otherwise...
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
2. If this doesn't work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Viewing multiple clips in 1 window/ viewing a playlist

Is it possible to view a playlist / several clips in one window (like windows media player playlist) with a mac? Either with quicktime or another viewer?
as when you want to view several clips and move back and forth - you can't - you have to open one at a time - then expand them one at a time.

Xine Player is also rather nice. MPlayer OSX was a good playlist player but it seems to have gone to pot in Tiger.
Note if you set QT to open new clips in a new windows and you don't overdo it with 20 clips at once (depends on your CPU and RAM really) you can have multiple instances of QT playing and click to make one active while the others play on or pause.

Using the harddisk on Time-Capsule with Windows

I would like to connect the harddisk in my Time-Capsule on a Windows-XP PC.
The drive has its file-sharing with a disk-password. With my iMac I can use the drive normaly.
But even the Domain is set to Workgroup, like all Window-machines, I can't see nor connect from my Windows-XP PC to this drive.
The windows-machine has a correct network-connection (I see all my Macs and other Windows-machines).
So, why is the harddisk from the time-capsule not recognized by the Windows-PC's?

your network componets config could be blocking the settings needed to make this work transparently. there are things like firewall settings that change the transparency of a network.
reguardless of the settings, you should be able to use explorer, tools tab, map network driver tab and either browse til you find your time capsule drive or you can type in the time capsule location in the folder box such as \\x.x.x.x\sharename where x.x.x.x is the IP address of your time capsule unit and sharename is the name of the timecapsule drive share.
you can also go to a dos box in windows via the start, run and type cmd in the dialogue box. once you get a dos box, enter net use y: \\x.x.x.x\sharename where y: is the drive letter you will be assigning, x.x.x.x is the TC IP address, and sharename is the TC share name. you will be promted for a user ID and pass word. if you setup your TC to allow guest full access then the user ID is guest and the password is the TC unit password. Once you get this working....you can change from guest access to a named userid and password access.

HT4796 How to solve my situation of having several Mac users created for me as I used Migration Assistant multiple times to move files from my PC

I recently tried to migrate data from my old and perpetually unstable PC to my new iMac through the Set up Assistant. However, half way through the 6 hour process, my PC crashed (the exact reason why I finally bought a Mac!) and the connection was lost. I continued with the Mac set up and then tried again later to migrate the files with Migration Assistant. Since I was nervous that my PC would crash again, I decided to do the data transfer in multiple migrations (ie. first I did photos and then after seeing that that was done successfully I did music and so on). Unexpected to me, even though all of the 4 migrations were successful I now have 4 additional users (in addition to the one I set up durnig the initial process) because each migration created a new user. Each user has little bits of my data.
What is the easiest way to merge these users or at least the data that resides in each one? I really only want one user. thank you.

You may not have created a mess, it's possible you simply don't know where your data is after migrating. Had you followed the Setup Assistant's on-screen prompts when you initially turned on your new system you would be running just fine by now. My guess is you haven't been exposed to Pondini's Lion Setup Assistant tips.
Migration Assistant (MA) and Setup Assistant (SA) are cousins, similar but different. The primary difference is MA creates a new user account which can be confusing to some users. If you successfuly migrated then log out of your existing using account and you should see the new user account. Log into that account then you should see the migrated data. If you do then use Pondini's Transferring files from one User Account to another.
However if you have totally made of mess out of things then I'd start over, this time using the Setup Assistant Tips beginning where he discusses Second Chance.

ITunes won't open anymore. Have uninstalled and re-installed multiple times but installer window never pops up (Windows 7).

I have Windows 7 and my iTunes mysteriously stopped working. The loading sign (little blue circle next to the mouse) came up but nothing would happen. So I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Except it's the exact same problem. I click on the iTunes Setup shortcut and, again, nothing happens. I've uninstalled everything to do with Apple (Quicktime, Bonjour etc.) and have made sure that when I download the program again, it's set for Windows 7. I've also tried restoring my computer to a previous date, when iTunes did work, but it was the same thing! Nothing happens. IE works just fine and I'm able to download other things from the internet, all except for iTunes.

Are you re-installing Itunes 10.4? If you search around the discussion you'll see lots people are having issues with 10.4, including myself, probably best to go down to 10.3 until Apple fixes the issues with 10.4.

It works for the first time when I click the button, a dialog window opens with my FPM GAF stuff.
But when I click the button the second time after closing the dialog window, it generates a dump with error message saying u201CComponent Usage Group MESSAGE_AREA_USAGES Already Existsu201D.
In ST22, the dump was generated in WDDOINIT of view u201CMAINu201D on FPM_GAF_COMPONENT which looks to me like the message manager is already created in the first time.

Not able to use collection multiple times in a jsp using logic:iterate

I have following question:
I am working on a report using J2EE. I have a collection(resultset) which has 3 different types of vendors information along with other information in the collection and I want to put them into 3 different sections on my report depend on vendor type in the collection (resultset).
Anyone know that I can able to use same collection multiple times uisng <logic:iterate> or is any other way of doing this.

How can I have use the same div ID multiple times on the same page?

Okay so a problem I encounter a lot is that often times I want to use the same div ID several times on the same page. An example of this is when I'm creating table like designs.
Let's say for instance I create a div ID called 'product-container'. I want to use 'product-container' multiple times on the same page but if I do this it is improper XHTML and will throw errors in any XHTML validator (you are only allowed to use a div ID once on any XHTML page in order for it to be standards compliant).
Now the first option is that I could define 'product-container' in my CSS style sheet multiple times by doing something like this...

What you will see there however is that it seems pointless to define the same ID numerous times over (just adding a number on the end) when each ID is the exact same thing and has the exact same attributes.
Now what I have noticed is that there are some sites out there who manage to have the same ID appear several times in the code but add a number to it just like above. The difference is that they only have one definition for 'product-cointainer' in their CSS document but in their actual XHTML code they have IDs for 'product-container' but with numbers on the end like 2,3,4,5, etc. It's almost as if JavaScript or some other code is automatically appending a number on the end of the ID so the validator won't consider the markup to be invalid, but yet it knows that it's using the same 'product-container' style that is contained in the CSS style sheet.
I hope I explained this correctly. I'm just hoping to find a way that I can put the same div ID on a page multiple times without having to define it over and over again in my CSS.

An ID name can be used only one time per page. A class name can be used multiple times per page.

the way suggested by Nigel worksI'm not sure what you intend to use the resultset for but remember that UNION will remove duplicates from the result set and could possibly sort it too. Even if that were not the case (for example if you used UNION ALL) Oracle does not specifically guarantee the order of resultsets.
If you are expecting the first row to contain the first count (and so on) then you might not get the answer you are expecting.

Calling a vi multiple times makes the timer "crash"

I use a subvi for writing data from a profibusnetwork. In this vi I can set a timer for the "update" to write away the data. I use a global variable to remember the last time the writing was done. The problem I encounter here is that when I use this subvi multiple times only the data I want updated fastest will be written away.. My question is: Is it possible to use just this one vi multiple times instead of renaming it for every datasource I want to write away?

Use a while loop with an uninitialised shift register instead of a global,
and build it into a function marked "re-entrant". This way different data
exists in each different copy of it in the code.
