Using a Xbox 360 controller with Qosmio G30

Hi,
I'm trying to use the xbox 360 controller with pro evo soccer 2010 on my laptop.
At first it was flashing, but then it stopped.
The drivers and everything have installed correctly, is there any other way???
In device manager, there are no exclamation marks, it seems fine.
But the game wont play, unless I use the keyboard.

Hello
Maybe the controller is faulty.
Have you tested it on your Xbox 360 and does it work?
Can you also test another controller?

Is it difficult to pair a 360 game controller to a Mac mini? I do most of my gaming with my iPad + Apple tv and it usually works fine, but Bioshock is Bioshock so I'm thinking of getting that and an XBox controller.

Wanted to know if there is a way to get the xbox 360 controller or the nintendo wii to work with my java application. Has anyone been able to access either controller using java.

nope. you can use jinput to use game controllers... but only game controllers
that can be plugged in and have a driver.
i dont have any game systems, do the controllers have a usb attachment and computer drivers?

  • How do I use the Xbox 360 controller

    Hello,
As everyone knows the XBOX 360 controller is the definitive controller for Windows gaming.
I'm working on two projects now.  One in Flash and one in Unreal Engine.  I thought,"Wouldn't it be great to work on three projects at once."
So the idea came to me that a comedic style hockey game could be made in Flash.  Flash is great for action games, and the P2P networking(thought could have been done better) is just sufficient to make a good multiplayer experience.
I do not however want an action oriented hockey game without analog sticks.  I've gotten the XBOX 360 controller to work in C/C++ in a Tekken Style Open Wolrd Game, and it was great.  Where do I get the XBOX360 code to integrate them into a flash game?
    ,Jim

The GameInput API's for Actionscript 3.0. You can get when you download and install the Adobe Gaming SDK, after that you would need to import the SWC.

  • Wired xbox 360 controller with Mac (steam)

I am new to steam but is there a way to have a 360 controller plug into your Mac via USB (do u need a special commuter controller or a adapter?) and use it to play games with steam? Also with steam can u plug in a 360 headset to talk or even get a Bluetooth for the computer to work with steam, any help would be great.

This guy has made a great driver package that works with both the 360 wired and wireless+receiver controllers: http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver. After install, there's a preference pane in System Preferences which you can configure and test the controllers. However, the 360 wired headset (the one that plugs into the controller) doesn't work. I dunno about the wireless 360 headset (the one that directly connects to the receiver) but I imagine it wouldn't.
As for other headsets with Steam, any microphone that the system recognizes will work. Go into Steam's settings and configure which mic you want to use with Steam. Unfortunately (this is my major annoyance with Valve's stuff on both Mac and Windows) you cannot configure voice to come through another speaker. So if your headset has a speaker, it won't be used. Voice will come out the same speakers as the game's sound. Annoying.

I have got Gamepad Companion and the xbox360controller drivers from tattie but when trying to set what controls do what in game the controller seems to stop working. I'm unable to set any controls using the controller.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I'd probably ask in the Xbox development forums.

  • Xbox 360 controller works in mate desktop but not DWM?

    Hello,
I just switched to DWM from mate desktop. I use my xbox 360 controller with steam home streaming. Worked perfectly under mate but it doesnt work at all in DWM.
The xbox controller light is on in dwm and I can confirm it still works under mate. I tried installing xf86-input-joystick but no joy. (didnt need this under mate)
Anyone know what makes this work in mate desktop or how to make it work in dwm?
    Many Thanks.
PS: Don't know if it helps but my .xinitrc is just a copy of /etc/skel
    #!/bin/sh
    # ~/.xinitrc
    # Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
    if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ]; then
    for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*; do
    [ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
    done
    unset f
    fi
    setxkbmap gb &
    exec dwm
    #exec mate-session

    I installed this driver:
    http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver
And now my MBP reliably recognizes the controller (evident by it showing me what commands it is receiving in the preference pane created by this driver), but I've found that getting an individual game to behave nicely with the controller is a whole other ball of wax...good luck.

  • Using xbox 360 controller, is it possible?

Is there a class I need to get or is it not even possible to use the xbox 360 controller in java

I'm guessing it's possible, but you would need an adapter to plug it into your computer (or have a working Java JRE on your XBox) and likely require some JNI to communicate with the port to which you attach the controller. I've never tried it, but I'm just saying I believe it is possible.

  • Xbox 360 controller support

I've found a couple of old threads that require a recompilation of the kernel or a kernel patch (I think) or recompilation of a module in order to get XBox 360 controller working, but those were from 2.6.24 or 2.6.28. Is that still necessary? Can someone point me in the right direction for how to get my box to recognize and use the XBox 360 controller? I've modprobed joydev and xpad, but all dmesg says when I plug in the controller is
usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
usb 3-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
    Suggestions?

majiq wrote:I'm trying to use it with GridWars, but it doesn't seem to be registering. As a note, I found no new entries in /dev/input/.
Grid Wars looks for the joysticks registered as /dev/js(0,1,2,etc). So if you ever get the controller registered under /dev/input just symlink the /dev/input/jsX to /dev/jsX.

  • Xbox 360 Controller and Call of Duty 4

I bought the Xbox 360 controller with the receiver and installed the driver on the Mac. The driver recognizes it wonderfully in System Preferences. Now, is there any way to use this device to play Call Of Duty 4? (for Mac... naturally).
Has anyone been able to do so?

I'm trying to find the same answer myself. Any luck? I called tech support and they said the game doesn't support it, but to look for a keyboard emulator program. You can view a thread I started here http://gamermodzforum.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?p=10412#10412 regarding this same issue.
