Using adapter 24/7

Any downside to using a/c adapter 24/7 in my new Macbook?

Hi polyad,
when connected to AC-power all the time Apple recommends to calibrate your battery once a month http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
Also Apple recommends to discharge and recharge the battery at least once a month http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
Other than that there are no problems with 24/7 AC-power.

  • How do I use Adaptive Limiter to make sure bounces are same volume?

    Hi,
    I've been making ear training exercises for myself - you can understand what here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=490846&tstart=0
    Here's what I need to do - and don't know how:
    I want all bounced exercises to play at the same volume.
    Each exercise has two MIDI regions. The first region (Region #1) plays at the begining of all exercises. When I look at the Output track when Region #1 plays, it is at 0.2 DB - no clipping. However, Region #2 clips in varying degrees depending on what octave an interval is being played at. For instance, a C and E played together around C1 doesn't clip - but transposed to C5 or C6 it clips anywhere from 3.7 to 4.6. I can't just lower the output volume before it clips - because it's important the Region #1 stays the same volume-wise on all of the exercises.
    Some people have said just add an adaptive limiter to the Output 1-2 track... but how do I set it?
    Any suggestions? Anyone understand this?? It's hard to explain on this end...
    Thanks.

    you don't use adaptive limiter to make sure bounces are the same volume.
    that is not the function of the adaptive limiter.
    the limiter puts a ceiling on the signal and optionally raises the gain. You'd use this on certain instruments that are known to produce loud peaks, such as Bass Guitar and Vocal,
    It is used as the last plugin in the chain on the master fader when mixing something down, to prevent the mix from peaking.
    IMO, the logic limiter doesn't destroy anything unless the mix itself has something wrong with it.
    A lot of people reach for limiter when what their ears are really looking for is to multiband compress.
    Your solution is to use a COMPRESSOR (not the multiband compressor, just the simple Logic compressor).
    Do NOT use the default setting of the logic compressor in your case, because it defaults with its 'auto Gain' turned on which will raise your volume (a lot).
    Put a compressor as the first plugin in all of your piano channels, or into a Bus, and set all your piano tracks to output to the bus with the compessor on it.
    Settings:
    THRESHOLD : -10
    ATTACK : 0 (play with it, pianos feel good with a low one,
    could try 15ms or less)
    DECAY : play with it, I'd use 50ms with a Piano track
    AUTO GAIN : off
    GAIN : +4
    RATIO : try 12.0
    This setting will attenuate anything above -10 and will raise the gain up to a healthy level to compensate.
    Anything below -10 won't be touched.
    Since the compressor will 'squash' your signal slightly,
    some frequencies will appear louder to the ear after the piano is compressed. So just AFTER the compressor on the same track, put a Logic Channel EQ and conservatively pull down some of the freq ranges to bring them back to normal.
    And that's it.
    a tip: When working in logic, no matter what the project, when it's time to mixdown put a COMPRESSOR on every single channel as the first plugin. Then play with plugins, etc.
    I do have many issues with Logic's workflow, but the dynamics plugins IMO are very good.

  • SOAP Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding

    Hi Friends,
       I am new to use to Soap Adapter. Please help me out bellow doubts.
       1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
       2. Where exactly  we r using below parameters.
    Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
    Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
    SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
    To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
    Thanks&Regards
    G.Bhanuprakash

    Hi,
       1.When you use Use Adapter-Specific Message Properties and Variable Transport Binding .
    SAP Help says both are needed to be checked when you want to process adapter attributes
    Configuring the Receiver SOAP Adapter - SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure - SAP Library
    These attributes can be get/set using dynamic configuration and their technical names are what you have pasted:
    Remote User : (technical name: SRemoteUser )
    Remote Host : (technical name: SRemoteHost )
    SOAP Action (technical name: SHeaderSOAPACTION )
    To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName1 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName2 )
    Variable Header : (technical name: XHeaderName3 )
    Remote User - the username used to send a message to the adapter engine using SOAP
    Remote Host - hostname which the remote user used
    SOAP Action - SOAP Action of the XI webservice (sender) / SOAP Action of the receiver webservice
    Variable Headers are additional key-value pairs in the HTTP Header that could be accessed in the XI Header using dynamic configuration. The limit is only three though.

  • Using Adapter-specific attributes in Mail adapter

    Hi,
    I try to use adapter-specific attributes in my Mail adapter. I set the "Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes" indicator, but I do not get a result in the mapping and also in the SXMB_MONI the attributes are not visible.
    The documentation also refers to Variable Transport Binding indicator:<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c093409c663228e10000000a1550b0/content.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c093409c663228e10000000a1550b0/content.htm</a>
    Could this be the problem? I cannot find this indiciator! Does anyone know where I can find this indicator?
    Regards,
    Torsten

    Hi,
    The values for the parameters, set using adapter specific message attributes are available at runtime in the path http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Mail.
    We need to write UDF's that can extract the values from this path.
    For Ex:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters() .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(
        “http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File”,
        “FileName”);
    String valueOld = conf.get(key);
    if (valueOld != null) {
        String valueNew = valueOld.replaceAll(“input”,”output”);
        conf.put(key, valueNew);
    If you check Dynamic configuration in sxmb_moni, you would be able to find the values for all the attributes that have been set in the adapter.
    Regards,
    Smitha.

  • Problem in displaying a field in webdynpro using Adaptive RFC model

    HI,
    I created a webdynpro application using adaptive RFC model and i have a problem in displaying one of the output fields.
    When i execute the function module it is giving the exact value for my output field in this case telephone number (of type STEXT which is char with length 40).But when i am trying to display that telephone number in webdynpro application it is taking only first 4 digits.
    i deleted the model and recreated it still it doesnot work.
    please let me know how to resolve it.
    points will be awarded for sure
    Bala

    Hi Bala,
    Whenever you reimport the model server restart is necessary otherwise the changes will not get reflected. You will get an error when you deploy the application.There is no go around except restarting the server as the meta data gets cached in the server as long as the server is runnig.So, Once you restart the server the cache will be cleared.
    Check once again whether you are fetching data from correct BAPI field. Still problem persist try debugging.

  • How to set the tables parameter to a BAPI using adaptive RFC model

    Hi,
    I have a BAPI ZBAPI that has a tables parameter ZPernr of type ZTable with two elements pernr and name.
    I used adaptive RFC model and created model classes for the BAPI.
    My question how do i set list of pernr and name to the tables parameter in the webdynpro for java.
    I have the following methods available
    ZBAPI input = new ZBAPI();
    1.ZTable table = new ZTable();
    table.setPernr(pernr);
    table.setname(name);
    input.addZPernr(table);
    how do i set the table parameter for multiple pernr and name
    2.
    add all the pernr and name to list and set that list to input in the following way
    input.setZPernr(list) and list of typecom.sap.aii.proxy.framework.core. AbstractList
    out of two methods mentioned which one is correct.
    Please let me know the solution
    Thanks
    Bala Duvvuri

    Hi Bala,
                In your code:
    List pernrList = new ArrayList();
    pernrList  should be declared as the  type of class HROBJECT   ( The structure name in the model  e.g. the node PERFWARN type is Zhrecmfm_002_Perfrat_Warning_Input )
    Try this:
    HROBJECT  pernrList = new HROBJECT();
    pernrList.setPernr(pernr);
    input.setPernr_List(pernrList);
    // call BAPI execute method
    If you want to pass list of pernrs, you can pass in alternate way
    IPrivate<viewname>.I<nodeame>Node prNode = wdContext.node<node>();
    IPrivate<viewname>.I<nodeame>Element prEle;
    for (int i = 0; i < table.size(); i++) {
    HROBJECT  pernrList = new HROBJECT();
    pernrList.setPernr(pernr); // Set the pernr from current record
    prEle = prNode.create<nodeame>Element(pernrList);
    prNode.addElement(prEle);
    // call BAPI execute method
    Once I execute the BAPI how do i iterate thru second table parameter PERNR_PERFRAT to get pernr and performance rating text
    Say your node name is  PERNR_PERFRAT
    for (int i = 0; i < wdContext.nodePERNR_PERFRAT().size(); i++) {
    wdContext.nodePERNR_PERFRAT().getPERNR_PERFRATElementAt(i).getPernr();
    wdContext.nodePERNR_PERFRAT().getPERNR_PERFRATElementAt(i).getPerfrat();

  • Inconsistency of results using adaptive RFC

    I'm calling a function from a R/3 System using Adaptive RFC and i'm having different results from my webdynpro application that the ones that i'm having in the R/3.
    If someone could tell me why this happen I will appreciate.
    Thanks.

    Hi Frank,
    Iin another opportunity I had tried to do the same procedure you are trying and not getting hit. I ended up using the parameter "sap-wd-client = WmlClient" in the url of the application ... What makes this return in xml format and can be accessed like a Web Service. It really is not a proper use for a Web Dynpro application, but with some customization finally meet demand.

  • Return a multidimensional array using Adaptive WS model

    Hi all,
          I have created a web service that needs no request parameters and returns a 2-dimensional String array as output. I deployed the Web service and tested it using WSNavigator. It works fine.
    Now,I imported the Web service using Web service model. I got an error when importing the model itself.
    Then, I tried using Adaptive Web Service model and tried  to bind the values of the output String array in my webdynpro table. I was able to get only the first element of the 2D String array. Don't know where I am going wrong.
    This is my code:
    MO_Test instance = new MO_Test();
    Request_GET_USERCUST inst = new Request_GET_USERCUST(instance);
    wdContext.nodeRequest_GET_USERCUST().bind(inst);
    wdContext.currentRequest_GET_USERCUSTElement().modelObject().execute();
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess("Size:"+wdContext.node_GET_USERCUSTResponse().size());
    The size is displayed as 1!!
    Any insights?

    ddudge12,
    I haven't ever really used DAQ Assistant, but I *think* that the drop-down menu you mentioned is for selecting the Sampling clock, which is different than the counter Source. There doesn't appear to be a way to select a source signal in the DAQ Assistant -- it seems to expect you to wire a signal to the counter's default Source pin.
    You'll need to use a DAQmx Channel property node to select the 80 MHz timebase as a source. Attached is a screenshot of a very simple example that will count up as high as a 32-bit int can go, rollover to 0 and continue counting up, etc. It'll take a little less than a minute to rollover if all is working correctly.

  • Error while using Adaptive RFC model

    I am  using adaptive RFC model to consume a function module from BI system. The function module expects a Boolean input. While executing the function module we need to give u2018Xu2019 for that input. When I consumed the function module in the webynpro java project , used it and give the input as u2018trueu2019 on runnig the application it gives the following error: u201Ccom.sap.conn.jco.ConversionException: (122) JCO_ERROR_CONVERSION: Cannot convert a value from type java.lang.Object to CHAR at field I_READ_ATTRu201D
    There is corresponding dictionary type created called u2018BOOLE_Du2019 but I could not access the dictionary type in the controller java file.
    Is there a way to rectify the same or any workaround condition?
    With regards,

    Hi saurabh,
    I need to give the value from webdynpro. Hers is the sample code.
    rssem_Cha_Values_Get_Input.setI_Read_Attr();
    // It expects a boolean value but if i pass a value to the method the obove error is show.
    Where as there is a simple type "Boole_d" generated when i consumed the RFC in the webdynpro.
    but i couldn't access this simple type in the code.

  • Differences between OIM Connectors using Adapter Factory and Generic Tech

    Hi,
    Can any one please tell me what is the difference between Oracle Identity Manager Connectors by using Adapter Factory and Generic Technology.
    Regards,
    Raghunath..

    This issue is a bit complex but let me try to explain.
    One way to look at it is to consider cars with automatic and manual gearboxes. A car with a manual gearbox requires more skills of the end user. You do need to understand how to use the clutch and what gear to use under what circumstances. In a car with an autoamtic gearbox all of these things are abstracted away from the user. On the other hand a automatic gearbox is more complex to manufacture, especially if you would do it yourself with just some machine tools and some basic materials available.
    In the same way an adapter factory connector requires a bit more skill to install and configure. A generic tech one is a lot more point and click. The downside is that creating the generic tech takes a little bit more effort and skill.
    Excellent article by Nishant on this : http://blog.talkingidentity.com/2007/06/understanding_oims_generic_tec.html
    Hope this helps

    You must use the bundle identifier instead of the name
