Using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

I was trying to download a pdf document form the web. When I went to do so, I got a message stating that I needed the latest version. So, I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The problem is that it does not read any documents that I click. How do you use this thing? Why isn't it automatic?

Adobe Reader and Flash Player are different kinds of things, not opposites. You can have both.
However, it still seems that the simplest thing is to just save the document. Apple have made this easy, but well hidden.
In Mavericks, I have to move the mouse to the bottom centre of the window with the document, then slowly move the mouse up the CENTRE of the document. A little toolbar appears, with four buttons, and button 4 is download. I hate this sort of thing, but that's how they all are these days.

I have a Macbook Pro with 10.6.4 OS
My printer is the HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-One
It is connected via ethernet cable to my router (Netgear Wireless N Router) via 10.0.0.1 Wireless Setting.
I am able to print everything with any programs, except Adobe Acrobat.
When I send any files to the printer, i get the following error:
Error: pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13
I uninstalled the driver, installed it (from the HP website latest driver), I'm able to get the printer to work on everything else, I'm able to print a test page, but... I can't print anything with Adobe Acrobat...........
Any suggestions? I do use Adobe Acrobat Reader a lot

OK, let's try more thoroughly uninstalling the hp software for 10.5 using the 'scrubber' option. First, install the wrong software from the CD (for 10.5) so we can more thoroughly uninstall it. Next:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Hold the Ctrl, Opt and Cmd keys and click on Uninstall << This is the scrubber option
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
Restart your Mac
Now, run a Software Update.
Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" Driver and Software from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

I have some question to ask about Adobe acrobat reader and Adobe acrobat professional.
Is it possible if I use Adobe Acrobat reader to input data in PDF file that is generated by interactive form using web dynpro or Abap program. I try to use acrobat reader. It can not input anything into PDF Form but I'm not sure it may be can or not.
After I change PC that is install Adobe Acrobat Professional (offline: I save pdf file form web browser). It can input data into PDF Form.

1) You only need a Adobe Reader (Version 7.0.9 or higher) to enter and Save data in Adobe form. Just install the latest version of Adobe reader (8.x)

2) Please make sure you are creating Interactive Forms, and not Print Forms. for example, if you're using Java Web Dynpro, you need to enter the following code to make the form Interactive (so data can be saved within):

How come I cannot use the Editing tools when i am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC It wants me to Buy Now. But when I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC i have no problem using the Editing tool yet I had Adoboe Acrobat XI Pro then it was upgraded to this DC stuff

Using Adobe Acrobat Reader with Mysoclab

I am using mysoclab for an online class that I am taking. It requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program 6 times and it is still not recognizing it. The mysoclab tech department said I should contact Adobe not them. I am hoping to get this resolved soon so I can complete my class.

Updated Firefox doesn't like to use Adobe Acrobat reader to read pdf files. Why

I use program PDF Converter Professional.When downloading from the net I want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open downloaded pdf forms. Adobe Acrobat is my default program but Firefox keeps using PDF Converter. How do I change this?

Acrobat Reader is the default program for all variants of pdf files, both in Windows 7 and in Firefox.

So you have a trial version of Acrobat (that is not activated) installed? If so, uninstall it.
Do you also have Adobe Reader installed? If so, you need to open it once and accept the EULA.

How to I stop the Preview Pane in Windows 7 retaining control when I open a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat (Reader is NOT installed)

I have the preview pane active when selecting PDF Documents. When I open a PDF document I am unable to save any changes. the error message I receive:
"The documents could not be saved. The file ma be read-only,or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name of in a different folder"
The document is not read only and no other user has it open. If I turn the preview pane OFF there is no problem saving changes. I have also un-installed Adobe Reader.
Other programs (such as Excel, Word) do not experience the same problems as the PDF documents.
Does anyone have a solution?

It sounds like you just need to associate the PDF filename extension with Acrobat, rather than Preview. Please see this document from the Microsoft Help for instructions on choosing the default program for opening a particular file type (in your case, PDF): Change which programs Windows uses by default - Windows Help

Unable to use Adobe Acrobat Reader and/or install version 8.1.2.

I was unable to use my adobe reader so I tried to download 8.1.2 and during installation I get the 1417 error message saying unable to remove version 8.1.2. Will not let me finish the installation process?

When I tried to install msicuu2.exe, Error Message: Windows Script Host Active X component can't create object: 'WScript.Shell' Source Microsoft VB Script Runtime Error.
I edited the registry and remove all versions of Adobe Reader, shut down all software, and still was unable to load Adobe Reader 8.1.2. Click on download of pdf opens adobe acrobat reader, but then clicking on file save-as does not give a dialog box to change the name or location where it is sav

Using Firefox 19.02
When I receive an email with an Excel, Word, or PDF file attachment, and I click download, firefox opens up the associated program for all my users, however when you click on file>save-as you are not presented with the dialog box to perform a save.
Excel and Word, no fix at all. Other than different browser or to click download, right click and go to folder, and then copy it out of there to another folder and open it.
Help, what is going on here????

Can't Open PDF Package In Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3

Yesterday, I created a PDF Package of about 30 documents. When I attempt to open the package using Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3, I get the Data Execution Prevention pop-up message saying that the file cannot be opened. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this is happening?

Have not tried that yet. It was next on my schedule. I have another project that I'm working concurrently, but will have some time later today and will try that. Will post the results. Thanks for the suggestion.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 printing problems.

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 with the following information ,and I have problems printing in system configurations (I have an old Brother HL-1060 Laser printer)....
When I use the following defaultprinting preferences, the pages come out blank when printing riffmci.pdf (That can be found on the net):
- Resolution 600dpi
- 1200x600dpi Support: Off.
When I set the resolution to 1200dpi and 1200x600dpi Support to on the printing completes successfully. Is this a known issue with Adobe Acrobat Reader printing engine??
