Using Adobe Drive to upload images to alfresco

Hi all,
I am using Adobe Drive 2.1 with InDesign CS4 to connect to Alfresco.When I got connected to my alfresco with Adobe Drive a new drive (z:) is created and I can see the alfresco folders there.
Imagine that I have and InDesign document opened with a local image placed in it. We want (programmatically) the image to be copied to drive "z:" when we do the check in of the InDesign document (so other people can open the InDesign document with no image link lost (everybody will have a drive z: because everybody will have Adobe Drive)), but unfortunately the image is not uploaded to alfresco until we manually do a check in from the Adobe Drive contex menu in Windows explorer, so the rest of the people have a image link lost problem.
My quetion is, Is there any way to upload the image programmatically to alfresco from InDesign? if not, Is there any other way to do this? perhaps using the Adobe Drive SDK?

Currently, there is no direct method to upload images programmatically via Adobe Drive. Adobe Drive SDK is used to develop custom connector.
BTW, InDesgin has a function called package(Menu:File->Package). After you open a file with linked files and click menu File->Package, you specify a folder in Adobe Drive disk(Z:), then all related files will be saved to the specified folder and checked in automatically, no matter the original linked files are checked into the server or not. The disadvantage is that it may break your current folder structure. If the package function can meet your requirement, you can refer InDesign SDK from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/indesign/sdk.html to develop a plugin/extension to do this work.

Adobe Drive software doesn't store images; it enables integration of a DAM system with Creative Suite and now Creative Cloud desktop apps.
Adobe Drive 3 is the first version of the software to support integration with Adobe's DAM. This version was designed to work with CS5 and CS5.5 apps.
We do not have a version of Drive that supports integration with CQ 5.4 DAM and CS4 apps.

We have been gradually using Adobe Illustrator CS6 in a team environment and, after having files on the server, found that we were stepping on one another i.e. losing work. The forum explained the pro's and con's of this arrangement; Adobe drive seemed to be the answer. However, there are constraints with this. The terms hyper-V and alfresco have come up, and getting the two to work is in question. Certainly there are companies out there who are using Illustrator in a team environment and I was wondering how you do it. Thanks so much.

Your junk filter appears to not be working properly. Try this first:
1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail and disable junk mail filtering.
2. Quit Mail, then open it again.
3. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk mail filtering, and configure it however you wish -- I recommend you to leave it at the default Automatic settings.
4. Reset the junk filter database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).

How can I get Adobe Bridge to show XMP metadata using Adobe Drive 4 CMIS Connector?

I have successfully connected to an Alfresco Enterprise Edition 4.1.0 repository, using the Adobe Drive 4, created a test folder and uploaded a jpeg file containing XMP metadata into it.
When I view the image's metadata (using Adobe Bridge), I observe that only part the standard file properties are displayed.
When I view a local copy of the image using the same, I see all fields of the standard file properties plus available metadata.
My question: what should I do in Adobe Bridge to be able to see all available XMP metadata?

How did you get through to customer service? They've changed the website and I can't even find phone numbers or a chat button any more.
Here's my story that I posted on discussion yesterday, but no one has replied:
I am screaming and pulling my hair out right now! The last six months with Adobe has been a nightmare.
Once again I am completely locked out of Creative Cloud and cannot use the apps even though my automatic monthly deduction for payment was just made a couple of days ago. Creative Cloud continues to reset itself to the trial version which runs out in 30 days and after that I am locked out once again.
Now it looks like it is harder to access support than before. Where are chat and the phone numbers now? This was a nightmare with countless hours spent on chat and the phone over the last six months, and now I don't even know how to access support in order to spend even more time that does not solve the problem. What am I to do?
I cannot use the product I have paid for!
Please help!

Using curve 8520 to upload images to facebook

i am in love with the curve 8520 ease of uploading images to facebook without having to first save the images to pictures
when i receive an e-mail i can simply send the photo to facebook without having to save it to pictures and when i visit a website using the browser i can simply select full image then send simply send he image to facebook.
while researching other models with the intention to upgarde i discovered that the torch 9800 and bold 9900 do not have this feature. what is this feature called ? it is imperative that tis feature is available in the other models that i am considering upgarding to. what model has this feature?

Using Adobe Acrobat XI, uploaded my form from my Word. How do I format spaces for SSN, DOB, Phone number?

Not sure what you mean by uploaded form. Did you print to the Adobe PDF printer, use the Save As Adobe PDF, use Save As PDF or XPS, use the Acrobat menu in WORD, or try to open the word file in Acrobat directly? Assuming you printed to the Adobe PDF printer, then you select the TOOLS>Interactive and select the Form Wizard. Otherwise, you simply use the tools under the interactive menu. The form tools are under the interactive menu (I could give better direction if I was at home where I have AA XI).

Using Adobe form to import images

Is it possible to have third parties submit pictures via an Adobe form and compile the images in a format that can be imported into our ecommerce site [link removed by moderator]? I know the forms can produce csv files but not sure how they work with images. Thanks

Do you need the image to be a part of the file (ie, embedded on the page), or just as an attachment to it? The latter is easily done, the former not so much.
Either way it requires that the file be used in either Acrobat or Reader XI, though.

I use Adobe lightroom to export images to Facebook - I am now getting error message related to this process address not understood- how to correct?

I am using Win & Home edition / Mozilla Firefox on my HP laptop. On Oct 8 I used Lightroom to export images to Facebook. Now when I try to repeat this, authentication fails as The address wasn't understood
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (lightroom) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
The export process was working, but isn't now. I have ben having problems with Firefox - I wasn't able to retain the settings for opening with my own Homepage (kept going back to Firefox default. So I have done a reset. Seems that this has somehow disrupted the authentication process. Can you help please.

I just dropped into the forums to see if other people were getting the DVD burning verification error (Error code 0x80020063). I've been holding off on the Tiger to Leopard upgrade until very recently. All of my must-have apps were anecdotally stable and I was under the impression that 10.5 was too. Apparently reliable DVD burning is Tiger only, at least on my systems.
We've been burning Taiyo Yuden DVD's almost daily with Tiger with incredibly low failure rates. After what seemed to be a smooth upgrade of a Mac Pro tower & 2 MacBook Pro laptops (one is a Core Duo and the other is a Core 2 Duo) I've spent the entire afternoon troubleshooting until I ended up here. Some searching on the board leads me to conclude that this will be a bigger headache than I imagined.
I've done all the obvious stuff (varied the burn speed, moved the files to a different drive, reset PRAM & SMC, used a different account, deleted finder.plist, tried repairing the system with DU on the Leopard install disc and then I tried burning on different computers with different media). What I'm finding is that over 50% of my DVD's are throwing the error code during verification across 3 different models all running Leopard 10.5.2. CD burning seems to work as before (but we don't use this as much so ?). I saw that some people had posted that closing the finder window helped, but that didn't improve my overall failure rate. The DVD's appear (indentical byte size and item numbers) to be burned correctly and usable, but I need to be sure so I can't trust them.
We need reliable DVD burning for our business and this is a real problem. I was going to trudge over to the Apple store, but it doesn't sound like there's a real fix yet.

How do you change the settings so that whatever I save on Dreamweaver uploads to my server and automatically publishes to the site?
I have entered my server on Dreamweaver, and it tells me it has connected to my server successfully, it just changes the whole design, the style sheet, sprytabbedpanels.js and sprytabbedpanels.css all disappear also nothing had changed in my cpanel. But how can i publish it to my website with everything working?
Can anyone please give me step by step instructions on how I can do this, upload my Dreamweaver site to my own website.

Adobe Drive and Alfresco Enterprise Fails to Check-in With Custom Content Types

I've been struggling with some drive limitations over the last few weeks as we try to utilize the CMIS connector to Alfresco. I am currently testing with Adobe Drive 3.2.0.41 and Alfresco 4.0.1 Enterprise but have tested this behavior with Drive 4.0.2.6 paired with Alfresco 4.1.1.3 and seen the same behavior:
The issue I am seeing is that I am unable to Check in a new document into the repository when there is a rule set up to apply a custom content type from our model. After entering my check-in comment and pressing OK, I get an unknown error from Bridge, InDesign, or Photoshop. It works fine if I do not specialize our type with a rule (leaving the content as cm:content). The error I recieve in Alfresco is: org.alfresco.service.cmr.repository.CopyServiceException: The source and destination node must be the same type.
I understand that this might be a limitation of Drive and Alfresco working together, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this issue or any potential workaround, since it is pretty limiting for alfresco to not have any non OOTB content types.

Adobe Drive CC still has this issue. I can dra-n-drop a .PSD into Alfresco 4.2 and it will work perfectly - unless I use Adobe Drive to edit and check-in the file.

Adobe Drive 3 with Alfresco in multi-tenant mode!

I am trying to use Adobe Drive 3 with Alfresco CE 3.4 and have difficoulty accessing files when I use multi tenant mode on the alfreso side?! Anybody seen this before? Anybody know a solution to it?

On my enviorment, i use AD 3.0 and alfresco-community-3.4.d on Windows XP. there is no difference after set up the multi tenant mode.
i still can assess files on Alfresco server.
So can you please show your setting up for the multi tenant mode? And what's detail issue for your accessing files?

Using Acrobat with Adobe Drive

I am exploring using Acrobat professional with Adobe Drive 2.1. I have not seen an explict statement that Acrobat can use Adobe drive.
Here are my questions:
1. Can Acrobat 9 or 10 interact with Adobe Drive 2.1?
2. Are there any Acrobat limitations to using the exposed Adobe Drive 2.1 CMIS functionality?

FatMac>MacPro is correct about using Preview to read PDF's. It is built in, reliable and kept up to date by Apple software updates.
Adobe Reader has had vulnerabilities that can cause your Mac to be attacked via malicious PDF's. Keeping Reader up to date is essential for good security, however Adobe updaters nag so much that it is simpler to avoid installing it if at all possible.
PC users recommend it because they had no PDF support for so long, OS X has always had PDF support from Apple.

How to inspect Adobe Drive requests using Fiddler or similar tool?

I have added our DAM server as a network drive using Adobe Drive. I need to capture and inspect the requests sent by Adobe Drive to my DAM server. Can I do this using Fiddler or Wireshark or any similar tool?
I have read Fiddler help which gives steps to configure applications to use Fiddler. But I am not able to figure out how to do that with Drive.
For the testing purposes, both Drive and the server are installed on local machine. But I do make request with http://machinename instead of localhost.
The reason I want to do this is some operations like 'check out' selected from Drive menu, does not hit my code at all. I want to check the discrepancies that's causing this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is Adobe Drive being retired & replaced?

We are working through an implementation of AEM Assets in a cloud-based environment with Adobe managed services (Amazon hosting). Our Adobe implementation team is having problems getting Adobe Drive to work in the hosted model. They recently told us that Adobe Drive is going to be retired and replaced with a Companion app.
Is anybody else successfully using Adobe Drive in the Amazon hosted model?
Is anybody else using Companion? How does it compare feature-wise?

Formstack is one of the alternative options that Adobe suggests using. We do have a form importer that allows you to instantly build a form from any form URL out there. https://www.formstack.com/features/form-importer This will save you tons of time re-building forms in a new platform.

Under Windows 8.1, Adobe Drive crashes on File- Check In... when invoked from an Adobe creative application.

I am testing my drive connector on Windows 8.1 (64-bit) using Adobe Drive (5.0.2) with Photoshop CC (15.1.0.148) and Bridge CC (6.1.0.116), and I find that if I use File->Check In... from the creative apps (I checked InDesign too), the application crashes inside of AdobeDriveUI.dll. The crash happens as it attempts to display the dialog that solicits a Check In comment.
I have tried using both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of Adobe Drive, but both exhibit the same issue. I am quite certain that my connector is not involved, as the crash happens in native code that collects the version comment *before* my ICheckInHandler instance gets called.
I am interested in any insight or work-arounds that might exist. Thanks for any help!

I performed steps provided by you , but it did not help.
on other hand, i have collected some more data regarding
this issue.
1. went to SAFE Mode and tried to run the application from USB
2. got Exception "The instruction at 0x00407038 referenced memory at 0x00000078. The memory could not be read"
some more info on setup :
we have a micro controller on board, some part of memory (present on board) is used to keep application and server. we can open this memory via USB connection to PC. then we can see all files present at this memory on PC (behaves like externally connected
USB Drive) .
When we start this application . it will start the server . server will send 'request file' to controller soft. (this part is working fine), and controller will send back response , as soon as response file(RSP.txt) will appear in USB drive it will get corrupted
.(here RSP.txt file is present in controller USB decided memory but to open this we are using PC RAM). crashing of RSP.txt file will crash whole application. This RSP File is of FAT Type.
i have copied application in another external drive and tried to RUN application. it will not crash . but USB can not receive the "RSP.txt" (as it is not in communication with controller soft). and problem is in response file.
