Using Adobe portfolio

Hi Everyone,
Using 'Adobe Acrobat XI Pro' I could not find out the option to add 'already opened files' to Adobe portfolio folder . Please help to resolve this issue. For Admin, If this feature is not included yet in any Adobe version, take this as my suggestion.  Thanks

@Tan23 - to include the currently-open files when creating a new Portfolio, click the Create button on the toolbar and choose "Combine files into a single PDF" - do NOT choose "PDF Portfolio".
Then on the top left corner of the Combine Files dialog there is an "Add Files..." button that opens a dropdown menu. The last item on that menu is "Add Open Files...".
To make sure you are creating a Portfolio rather than adding the pages to a normal PDF, click the Options button on the top right of the dialog and select "Portfolio" before pressing the 'Combine Files' button.

  • Creating Electronic Binders Using PDF Portfolio - Commenting and Highlighting

For a few years now I have been using Portfolios to create electronic versions of binders.  Users want to be able to review, search, highlight and comment within the PDFs - and each have a copy with their comments.  Security is also a big deal.  My main question is:  Is using Adobe Portfolios the best solution for making an electronic binder, or does Adobe or another vendor offer a better one?  Recently I saw a product called GDoc Binder that looks promising.  For now using the Portfolios is the best solution I know of.
Problems with the current solution:  Right now I have to create multiple copies of the document to allow users to comment and highlight on their own copy.  File size can be problematic - if it's too big searching can take a long time even after I index the file.  Updating and adding sections is problematic since if you update a page or file you could lose their comments, and so I have to update multiple copies of the same file.  I know you can export and import comments but that can be complex/time consuming. One question I have: Is there a search and/or report on comments and highlights from the full Portfolio rather than just one at a time?
Since Adobe Pro X I have had to use a custom template from PracticalPDF.com to recreate the list navigation of Adobe Pro 9. I did see another post saying that the use of Flash with Portfolios mean that it's day are numbered. Question: I am curious if this is true, and if Portfolios using Flash are becoming obsolete, what Adobe Pro would use for an alternative?
Thank you in advance for any insight and answers - it is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the free 'CoolList' layout from Joel Geraci : http://blog.practicalpdf.com/portfolios/

  • Viewing PDF Portfolio using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro in Sharepoint Foundation 2013

When opening a PDF Portfolio, created using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, in Sharepoint Foundation 2013 the pages are blank in the default Layout view but you can see the contents in File view. How do we correct that so the files appear in both views? Local IT stated it is an ADOBE problem.

  • PDF Portfolio on IPAD using Adobe X does not record notes and highlights

    Hello
I have uploaded a PDF Portfolio and ADOBE Reader X to my IPAD and cannot highlight or annotate the documents. The pencil tool is greyed out. Is there a setting that I am forgetting to create?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
Currently Adobe Reader on iOS does not allow annotations on documents that are part of a Portfolio, though this is something we would consider supporting in a future release.
One way out is to extract the PDFs within the Portfolio (using Adobe Acrobat, for example) and individually editing them in Adobe Reader on iOS.
    Thanks,

  • Adding e-mails to Adobe Portfolio using the Outlook Plug-in

I support a user here who is asking if it is possible to add additional emails to an Adobe
portfolio using the Outlook Plug-in.  The user initially creates a portfolio of emails using the plug in, but would then like to add further emails to the portfolio (e.g. from other subfolders in Outlook, etc.).  Is this possible, and, if so, how is it accomplished?

Outlook 2013 (and for that matter Office 2013) are supported by Acrobat 11, not Acrobat 10 which was released well before Office 2013 was released.

  • How do I make a professional tenure portfolio using adobe X1 or other product?

How do I make a professional tenure portfolio using Adobe XI or other product?

No way with the free Reader. Perhaps with Acrobat, but you would probably need another program for the layout.

Adobe Reader Splash--I have a PDF file that whenever I try to open it suggests using Adobe Reader with a link to download Adobe Reader. I can't get beyond this. I have made Preview the default for all PDF's and yet this persists. I have also deleted Adobe Reader. This particular file is a portfolio, btw.

I have similar issue. Did u find an answer?

  • Created Adobe Portfolio - now all pdf reload with open

Help! I needed to email 70 pdfs. Instead of putting them all into one large pdf, I used the 'suggestion' in the new Macintosh Acrobat Pro 9 that I use a Pdf Portfolio. ( I used three Portfolios, then emailed them using the "email this portfolio" button that is incorporated into the Portfolio design.)
That worked with mixed results (some of the recipients couldn't open the portfolios, probably because they were using an older version of Acrobat.)
However, the problem I am having is now when I open my Acrobat program, it automatically attempts to load ALL the pdfs from one of the Portfolio. It keeps opening them until it can't open any more. Then I have to force quit.
I looked in the  System file to find a preferences file or something like that in order to throw it out, and hope that the program would rebuild a new one - but I couldn't figure out what might provide the same function. (It's been a while since I looked in a Mac  System  Folder.)
Does anyone have a fix for this?
    Thanks!
    CLShay

Rule number one: NEVER MESS WITH THE SYSTEM FOLDER.
You can mess with the Library folder, you can mess with your USER Library Folder, but if you mess with the SYSTEM FOLDER you will find out that TOAST can refer to more than the ROXIO CD/DVD burning software.
Preference files can be found in Library/Preferences (you will find nothing useful here for you)
There is Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat (nothing useful here either)
Users/username/Library/Adobe/Acrobat (delete as you wish-however you may not like the results)
    Users/username/Library/"Application Support/Aodbe/Acrobat" (nothing useful here)
Users/username/Library/Preferences/Acrobat (this is what you are looking for---delete as necessary)
However, my recommendation is to use a utility like Applejack or Onyx to remove both system and user caches.

  • Adobe Portfolio creation in Acrobat 9.0 programatically

How do I programatically create a Adobe Portfolio in Acrobat 9.0
    I am using VB .NET
I have a folder with PDF files only, that I need to add to a Portfolio using VB .NET
Thanks a lot in advance for all your suggestions

You can't create a full Portfolio from .NET, but you can create a limited one using the JavaScript APIs.

  • Firefox 6.0.2 cannot open pdf's using adobe reader

    Dear all,
Firefox seems unable to use adobe reader to display pdf's. I've set Firefox to use adobe reader and I've set adobe reader to accept use within a browser.

Thanks for the replies. Dave, thanks for the really helpful link.
The problem that this has created is for some guys who are previously sending reports (multiple pdf's/portfolio) to their clients in a hassle free way since it only requires the client (recipient) to have Adobe Reader installed. Now it requires another program as it was sort of separated from the Reader family. Previously, instead of having the ussual coversheet for the PDF portfolio to include that it is best to view on the latest version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat, will now need to include the latest version of Flash player as well.
I have not tested yet, though probably on another topic, but does this also affect if you are planning to open a PDF created in Indesign and given the format of  "page flip"?
Dave, do you have any tips on a possible workaround or atleast creating a pdf portfolio or any PDF document with SWF/flash capability to be user friendly or less hassle for a recipient to open?
I am really sorry if I have a lot of questions =(

  • How do I create a "hover effect" in an Adobe Portfolio layout template?

I am trying to find/create as layout template for Adobe portfolio that can create a hover effect so when the reader hovers over a heading it display a list of pdf documents that are grouped under the heading and the reader can select which one to view.

Changing the functionality of the Portfolio layouts requires you to write an entirely new one using the Acrobat Portfolio SDK and Flex - or hiring someone to do it for you.

  • Adobe Portfolio - Changing Folder Icon

    Using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9
Is there any way to use a customized graphic/jpg for the Folders icon?
When I have my portfolio grouped in folders, I want to be able to visually show something about that folder (insert JPG), not just a picture of a folder...

    Here's another discussion:
    http://bbs.applescript.net/viewtopic.php?id=10591
This discussion sets forth two approaches, and I have made both of them work in their own way. So my question is more or less answered -- more or less, because the approach that is most satisfactory is the one that you outline in that discussion, but it seems only able to set a custom icon to a new folder ("Target").
Please enlighten me if I'm missing something, but is there a way of making the "target" folder a pre-existing folder with another custom icon? What I really want to do is to change a folder icon, not create a new folder with a custom icon.
What's so frustrating is that I can open two folders with different custom icons and drag their invisible icon files back and forth (changing the icons), but I haven't found a way to do that with a script.
Thanks very much for your help.

  • Inability to Scroll in Adobe Portfolios

We recently installed the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.5 update, but ever since, have noticed that we are unable to scroll through a Portfolio, using the scroll button on our mouse. In order to scroll we must manually click on the arrows on the right hand side. We use Portfolios every day, so this is a little annoying - is there anyway to fix this?
    Thanks

    Hello Tamara,
Is the issue remain same if you create a new portfolio file?
Have you created original portfolio via outlook emails?
Would it be possible for you to share one sample file? You could use Adobe SendNow for sharing the file.
    Thanks,
