Using Adobe Premiere CS3 (ver. 3.2) with Microsoft AVI DV files (4:3, 48Khz) on timeline now ask render (red line) and before didnt.Proyect is DV NTSC standard 48Khz. What it could be?

Normally during months the edition was done with Microsoft AVI DV Files (4:3 NTSC 48 Khz). No effects (just cuts). Proyect settings as DV-NTSC Standard 48 KHz
Since today when the work is done in a new or old proyect (DV-NTSC Standard 48 KHz) and if the same file (Microsoft AVI DV) is loaded to timeline now is showing a red line over the video on timeline (so requires render). There no effects. This never happens before. it is very weird.
The Premiere is CS3 ver 3.2.0.
This is happening to 2 computers with the same version.So far I know there is no changes on the systems
I was thinking to reisntall 3.0 and then test and the update to 3.2...
Any idea?

It worked once in one of the computers. (AVi DV didnt show render red over line). BUt afterwards the problem got back. The only solution so far was to reinstall premiere, update to 3.2.0 in both pc.
It worked for a while then problems was again. Reinstalled for second time, so far 2 days still ok.. It is very weird. I unchecked updates from cs3 and windowsfor just in case has any relation.

200% or more is not strange. Remember that your mac has 4 cores (you say it's 3 months old, so I assume it is a new model), so 200% amounts to using 2 of these 4 cores to the max.
Regarding the question of creating a new admin user: while it sits in the same system, it may help if the problem is caused by some user-specific preferences or settings. Not likely in your case, since you seem to have reinstalled from scratch, but still it is worth a try. It takes 5 minutes and may help pinpoint the problem.

Capturing HDV using Adobe Premiere CS3 - more than 20 minutes of video

I'm facing a weird situation with Adobe premiere CS3, I use a canon XH-A1 video camera to capture video & recently started using adobe premiere for editing, the issue is if I start to capture HD video for more than 20 minutes, adobe is not able to capture the video (shows a red screen), but it works fine, if I capture upto 20 minutes of video.
I have in the past had to break down a single tape into 3 halves, to successfully capture the video, this is NOT the ideal way, as I have to babysit the video capture, to limit the capture to 20 minutes & restart it.
Has anyone faced this error? Any advice/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Could the reason be that you are capturing to an FAT32 format hard drive and it is only allowing you a limited maximum file size? Not sure but I think it is 4GB which would equate to 1/3 of a DV 13GB hour ...or about 20 minutes.
If that is correct, and you should be able to tell because the capture window will display the file size limit as space available during capture, you could do one of two things:
* reformat the drive as NTFS which removes the file size limitation (I have just done this on an external drive for exactly the same reason), but do look up online instructions for this and do it carefully.
* if the material is not long continuous shots of over 20 minutes, switch on Scene Detect during capture; it's wise to cut material up into smaller chunks in any case as huge files become very unwieldy and handling them could slow your machine right down.

Question: Using Adobe Premiere CS3 and a Sony GV-HD700

My name is Gerry and I am new to the forum. My problem is as follows: I have my Sony player connected via USB2 to my workstation. I am using widows xp sp3 and the device is properly recognized. When I choose capture in Premiere I recieve a message stating that the device is off-line. I power it on and off, but I am not able to see footage in the capture window. My settings are as follows:
Capture settings = Capture Format : HDV
DV/HDV Device Control
Video Standard: NTSC
Device Brand: Sony
Device Type: GV-D300 * I do not see my device type listed in the drop down list
Timecode Format: Auto Detect
Check Status: Offline
The only options I have tried changing is the Device type, also changing the device control from Serial device control to DV/HDV Device Control.
Any direction in this matter will be appreciated.

The Sony HDV700 will work with CS3 via firewire. Settings on the deck and in CS3 are important.
The HDV700 is too new to have its own settings. Select "Generic Sony," that works for me.
DO NOT set the HDV700 format to AUTO--set it manually to either DV or HDV depending on the tape format. Note also, that its often necessary to turn off the deck and turn it back on before the change is recognized by the PC.
You DO NOT selct serial control--you select Firewire or IEEE (I forget what the option is labeled.
Use the pre-assigned option in setting the sequence parameters (yeah, I know, you're capturing to the project window not the timeline, but this is where CS3 gets the capture settings.)

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on? And, what video card/graphics card does that computer use?
Is this the first time you are using Premiere Elements 10 or have you worked with it before successfully? There is no easy solution until we
know the details and troubleshoot to determined what caused the problem.
1. Can you open a new project?
2. After you saved/closed the problem project, did you move, delete, or rename any of the files/folder that were related to the source media
for that project?
3. Please review the Adobe document on troubleshooting damaged projects.

Adobe premiere cs3 and youtube

Hi Everyone,
Please give me some input on how I can use adobe premiere cs3 to create videos for youtube.... specifically... the videos that I will be working on will contain all of the same basic elements...
1. Still Images and Clip art only... no moving video... I want help with uploading the stills/clip art and also with timing who long each still with stay up individually....
2. Speech bubbles (the kind used in comic strips) timed to pop in above above the heads of those people or characters in the stills and clip art... I want help with timing when the bubbles come in and with creating them and saving them so that in future videos i won't have to create them again...
3. Voice over parts done by me to read the parts in the bubbles timed for comic effect... I want help with steps on how to do this...
4. Music added throughout the video just below my voice overs... same as above...
All of my videos will contain these elements... and I want to find an efficient way to set up adobe premiere the first time so that every time I go in to do my youtube videos in the future it will be just a matter of uploading the stills setting a time duration each still and the speach bubbles... reading the voice over, adding the music and then uploading it to youtube... I am new to the software and would appreciate any steps that could be give to help me accomplish these four goals...

the music you liked was made by chris duncan (who comes to forums but has been busy so hasnt been around lately ).. called " when goblins frolick " ...perfect title for the music.
probably should move this discussion to the lounge area cause it sorta has to do with learning some aspects of programs in general and certain techniques etc.. not really about cs3 and youtube per se...
but anyway..moderators will do that if they want to...
it is a little difficult at first to use photoshop to do what you want, and to use masks in cs3 or just fade graphics in and out and make them appear when wanted..move around etc...and also text issues ( sizes that show up OK on screen are usually pretty large ( pt ). But you'll find when you get past the initial learning part it will open up all sorts of very cool opportunity.. and freedom to do what you imagine...
AE is also used for animation stuff but I dont use AE myself...
if you search for animation tutorials using text baloons you may find some good one that walks you through the process...and maybe even you can find samples of things to download and experiment with on your computer.
my advice is to go ahead and learn what you can and do your own graphics etc .. cause that will open up all kinds of cool things for you to do .. not only in animation things but other things too ...

As per the EULA accepted while you launch Adobe applications you can download & install on 2 systems but can use on one at the same time.

There is no download available for version 3 that I am aware of - version 9 is the oldest available offered by Adobe. Serial numbers are only valid for the version they were purchased for.

Were can I download a trial for adobe premiere cs3?

I've looked all over the internet for a trial of adobe premiere cs3, but the only thing I can find is a bunch of links leading to the adobe website which only has adobe premiere cs5 avail able, but I can download that because my computer is only 32 bit. Does anyone know a secure website were I can get it downloaded?

Since I have never used a trial I can't help with this one

Capture(or import) from Sony DCR-SR75E to Adobe Premiere CS3

I have an Adobe Premiere CS3 installed in my mac.
I have used it with my Sony Fx-1 perfectly.
I purchased an new sony dcr-sr75e handycam and have problem capturing or importing.
When I connect the camera to the computer, I don't open capture, and when I try to import the mpg files, I only get the video of the files and I don't get the audio, and the video is imported very low quality. Can you please help me?

Copy the files from the camera to your PC then import them into Pro. Pro only captures through firewire.
If the audio contains ac3 copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from Encore in Program Files and paste this in the root of Pro CS3.
Reimport all files or start a new project.

Adobe Premiere CS3 keeps crashing everytime I attempt to export to Encore

Hey folks,
As the title suggests, everytime I try to export my project onto the Adobe Encore CS3 programme it crashes, with the message "sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your project."
Can anyone help at all? My gut feeling tells me that I'm going to have to reinstall everything again but if there's any suggestions to do something other than this it'd be greatly appreciated!

Whenever I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014, My macbook occasionally re-boots automatically! Any idea why and how to fix it?

I am using a Macbook Pro 15" late 2013 model, and it works great. However, when I use Adobe Premiere Pro (which is a lot as I am studying editing) it occasionally freezes for a second then reboots itself. I got the details of the error and pasted them into this document[1] if it is of any help.
The edition of premiere is new as I used to work with CS5 and recently upgraded in the last few weeks. If anyone could help resolve the issue, that would be great!

Not exactly the same, but it SOUNDS like you have hardware problems... P-Pro puts a LOT of stress on hardware

Can I run Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on MacbookPro with Lion??

For the love of GOD!! Can someone please explain to me why I cannot effectively use Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on my MacBook Pro (Lion OS)??? I've tried getting all updates from both Adobe and Apple, still no luck. Playback is horribly choppy, resolution is diminished and the program appears to be useless...no one at Apple seems to know anything about Adobe.
