  • How do i download and use adobe reader, flash player etc for windows 7 64 bit program. nothing works

I have tried almost everything and adobe stuff doesn't work with windows 7 64 bit program. SUGGESTIONS?

Hi, First, you must use the 32bit since Adobe Flash Player does not support the 64bit. Second you must be the Administrator in order to install the ActiveX Control and write to the Windows Registry which Flash Player does.

  • Can not Printing using Adobe Reader V9.0, OS is  Windows Vista

Help Me Please! I can not print in Adobe Reader. This is what is happening: I select print, the status bar shows pages being sent to the printer, the printer Hicups, clicks, clangs, clunks, and Burps and nothing comes out; No error, No copy. I'm running V9.0 but the same thing happened in version 8. I thought it was something to do with the down-load. What gives?

Sorry for disappearing; gotta make a livin'
No, I haven't looked for an updated driver for my printer but I will give that a try. I was able to print using the "print as image" function but it really bogged my system down to pre-Pentium days. I'll let you know if the driver update works. Thanks for reaching out!

I am using Adobe Reader X on a laptop with Windows Vista OS and Adobe Reader XI on an older laptop with Windows XP OS.  While filling out the same form on each computer, I have found that I can save info on the older laptop, but not on the newer one.  This is a big problem.  I must be able to save on the newer computer.  Do I need to buy a new computer with a more up-to-date OS?  Please help.

Adobe Reader X can only save reader-enabled forms. Adobe Reader XI can save all forms.

  • I am having issues with printing using Adobe Reader

I am currently using adobe reader and have not been able to print with my HP DeskJet 3050, I have both reinstalled my drivers and Reader, yet they both will not work.  Every time I click print it brings up the printing options screen, from there I have tried the following:  I have tried printing the document as an image, changing the language to see if the printer itself could not handle the printing language and I have also tried to save the document as a preprint and printing it from there yet it is still not working.  Here are all of the notes from Reader showing the build and features:

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser.  Reader will now exit.  Please exit your browser and try again" in Windows 7 x32 and Windows 7 x64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This happens when trying to open  a PDF file in Internet explorer 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first then the pdf files open as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader with no difference in the outcome.  Since this happens on two different computers one fresh copy of windows 7 x64 the other an upgrade to windows 7 x32 and they used to work before the change to windows 7, I assume there is some kind of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known issue and will it be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

tvandersluijs - I'm sorry if that screwed up your machine however:
    1. What version of Adobe Reader are you using because as you can see the registry entry is for Adobe Reader 9, if ur using Adobe Reader 8 then u need to specify ur version as PAllens entry suggested - "E.g. "C:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat [version]\Reader\AcroRd32.exe""
    2. I've used this solution significantly because I have come across this specific issue for multiple users.
    3. All the registry entry does is tell Windows what program to use by default to open/view PDF documents.
My intention wasn't to screw up ur machine or anybody elses as I said I've used this solution many times however what I've should gave is the disclaimer to backup ur registry before u make mods so u can revert back in case. Also the ony other thing I can think of is that this solution was for Windows XP using registry editior 5, I'm noticing that the title of this thread is Windows 7.

With computer running Windows 7 using the curser can select an item, then right click and select copy.   With computer running Windows 8 there is a hand instead of a curser therefore unable to select an item, therefore unable to copy.  Is there a way to have a curser rather than the hand?
Eureka!!!   Just found by right clicking on the hand can then select “Select Tool” and then copy.  Hurray!!!

I first tried the version without the deflated stream (so everything uncompressed) against the online repair tool to check/analyse it @ https://www.pdf-tools.com/osa/repair.aspx
And it says no error found, but the reader still want to save it when closing so i still had no clue at this point.
Fortunately, i finally found what was wrong with my generated PDF.
In my xref table, each object reference was not end by a full EOL, i only did put a newline char.
Now i have "carriage return" "newline" which is the full EOL and the reader is happy and close the file silently.
As suspected i did not follow correctly the specs on xref table
Now i'll go and figure what i did wrong with the deflate filter
    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi i use adobe reader for SARS efiling through firefox and SARS says not compatible with Firefox to open adbobe reader and file my Tax returns via SARS website

I,m having problems trying to file my SARS tax returns via SARS efiling on their website sarsefiling.co.za .They use adobe reader to open their documents ie EMP201 PAYE and EMP501 VAT returns
it won,t open the document in order for me to capture the company information on their website . I have mozzilla firefox as my protection for sites and emails I go through mozzilla to open adobe documents /attachments . it seems with SARS website doesn,t like this .So how do i go around trying to do my job at work . Thanks linda Desperate now ...........

I think I found a Windows setting that is causing the issue. I'm using
my LCD HDTV as the monitor for this computer, and in order to see the display easily, I have the following setting in Windows 7: Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Make text and other items larger or smaller > 150%.
When I change this to the default of 100%, the problems with Reader X in Firefox and IE disappear. Reader 9, however, works perfectly at 100% and 150%.
Is this a known bug in Reader X? Since the problem only appeared when moving from Reader 9 to Reader X, it seems it's not an unsolveable incompatability or something that's too difficult to work around.
Do any others with their displays magnified have this problem? Or does it work perfectly? Would anyone (preferably with Windows 7 64-bit) be willing to set their display magnification to 150% and see if they can replicate the problem?

  • Please help!!!!!! i filled out a job application using adobe reader but i cannot send the file back via email because the file is protected with a lock. how do i unlock this file to send it?!!!!!!!!!

    Hi kevinv1987,
It doesn't sound like the PDF was password protected (or Adobe Reader would prompt you for a password). Instead, it sounds like that file may be marked locked by your operating system. Are you on Mac OS or Windows? In either case, here are instructions for removing the lock icon from the file:
Remove the Lock Icon from a Folder in Windows 7 (check Microsoft's website if you have a different version of Windows)
On Mac OS, select the file in the Finder, and choose File > Get Info. Then, just deselect the Lock checkbox.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara
