Using AE as USB2 link

I have a iMac G4 with 3*USB 1 ports and 1 * firewire only and no USB 2 ports.
Reading the spec for the new AE that it has a USB port for either a printer or hard drive and I would presume this is a USB2, It occured to me that this may provide a means of connecting a USB2 device such as a hard drive or even a Nano to my iMac. Does anyone know whether this would work. I have an old airport card in my iMac as its the only one that is compatable. Would a wireless link with this sort of card be to slow to stream data quick enough to the hard drive connected to the AE?

That is not possible.
USB 2 has a theoretical maximum of 480 Mbps.
If you connect your iMac to the new AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) via Ethernet, the data rate will be limited to 100 Mbps (Ethernet speed).
If you connect your iMac wirelessly to the AEBS, the data rate will be limited to either 11 Mbps (802.11b) or 54 Mbps (802.11g). [Depends on whether your iMac is compatible with the original AirPort card or AirPort Extreme card.]

I have a challenge like not to repeate common tables like Company_code,Currency,Vendor name,customer name across all repositories.
Is there any way I can use 'Remote key' to link different repository.
I can create a Main table with all common attributes required across the repository but want to know how I can connect it to different repository.
For example to get company-code in Vendor table , how can I link Company-code main table(customized) in another repository may be thru 'Remote key'.
Going thru java api route is not prefffered for the sake of simple solution.
Appreciate your help in providing any idea and detail steps for the process.

How to use object collection with linked objects

Hi,I'm using VS2005 Crystal reports in a c# client app (server has database, but client does not have!). So the use of the objects transfered to the client seemed to me a good solution for showing reports on the client. The objects mostly link to several other objects (properties of type <type> or properties of type [] <type>) and the links are correctly configured in database assistant.But: Whenever using one of the linked fields, all of the main fields will never show up in the report.So, what is the correct way of showing a master / detail report using linked object collections??? (A small test sample app can be provided upon request) TIABP

What database and connection type are you using? Are you connecting the report directly to the database, or trying to assign the datasource to object data?
It sounds like you might be trying to use a linked list, collection or other C# construct to pass your data in. This currently isn't supported by the Crystal Reports SDK. You can use a DataSet or a DataTable, and possibly also an IDataReader depending on which version of Crystal Reports you're referencing in your project. Of course you can also connect directly to the database, even if the database isn't on the same machine as the application.
The way to show master records with detail information is through the use of subreports and linked subreport parameters. Linked subreports take their parameter value from a record in the main report, so that only the data appropriate to that master record is displayed. The guys over in the [report design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum can help you out with this if you have questions on the specifics.

Menus created using manual won't link to other Pages

Created a site and had a menu created using manual which was linked to sub pages within the site. The menu was for specific pages not requiring access from the sites top level menu.
The menu was working but now it is not possible to edit or replace the menu as there does not seem to be any way of adding the link to the required page. The dropdown box to the side of hyperlink stays greyed out and can't be accessed. This is only happening to links added using the menu widget under manual, ordinary text links seem to be OK.

Has anyone had trouble using query strings in links to other web pages your personal web pages? I have a link to another web page where I pass an ID using query string but when I click on the link I get a 404 error even though the web page exists (the link appears fine).

Problem viewing .xlsx and .xlsm file in DMS using Display from Archive Link

We are using IXOS as a content server for storing the documents through SAP Archive Link.
We are not storing any documents in SAP DMS.
The client has an requirement to manage .xlsx and .xlsm documents.
1. xlsx - We defined a new document class xlsx under SAP NetWeaver ..-> ArchvieLink and made the required mime and sheet settings. This allows to upload a .xlsx file to IXOS server succesfully (using Check in Archive) link.
But whenever we try to view the file using "Display from Archive", the browser gives a warning message that the file is in different format than xls. Do you want to still open (Standard Excel application message). On clicking yes, the file opens in .xls format instead of .xlsx.
The client doesn't want to change the format to .xls. What can be done to preserve the .xlsx files.
2. xlsm - Any clue as to does SAP ECC 6.0 support this file type for DMS? And if how the config settings are to be done?

based on your description I think that maybe SAP note 1289314 could help here and made sure that the local copy also has extension XLSX or XLSM.

From your wording, it sounds like you used the built-in column link within APEX. You will need to edit your column and remove that so that the column is only containing the definition that is coming from the query (you can also just change the alias used for the column and then the old column with the link will be removed and the new alias will be added against your new button column).

GL2 Capture Using a mini USB2?

I have a Canon GL2 and badly need to capture some miniDV on to my computer. Without going into the long story, (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=963099&tstart=0), my firewire ports on my iMac G5 (iSight) are not working. Now I'm faced with the crisis of finishing a good sized project by next weekend, but I'm not even able to capture. Will FCP5 allow me to capture if I am using a mini USB2 cable? I'm just trying to think of any way besides firewire that I can drop this video...

USB is not recommended for use with capturing video. Short answer is that it sends info in packets rather than a continuous stream thus causing potential for dropped frames. That being said, some people have reported using it successfully. In the end, can't hurt to try.

Use of the 'Back' link in Catalog/Portal - Useful info for Catalog Admins

Some info for anyone out there who may have noticed the small 'issue' with catalog items being duplicated when exiting a catalog using the Portal 'Back' link rather than the 'Return to Application/SRM' link.
A problem has been identified there where portal navigation causes duplication of catalog data even where no item is selected in the catalog.
The process might be:
1. User accesses a catalog (any, SAP or External) and selects/adds to cart an item.
2. User selects the 'Add Item' button in the 2nd step of the SC GAF, returning to the same catalog.
3. User clicks on the Portal 'Back' link and is returned to the 2nd step of the Shopping Cart Guided Application Framework
4. The initial shopped item is duplicated in the shopping cart even though no items were selected by the user.
To ensure that this does not happen SAP have created note [1445078|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1445078] which provides the means to remove the 'Back' link thus negating the possibility of this issue occuring in the case of any catalog access.
Please follow the steps provided in the note to modify the Portal Content and remove the back link entirely.

The catalog no longer opens in a new window from SRM 7.0 as we now use Portal as UI or NWBC, in order to maintain session reliability the catalog frame is launched from within the Shopping Cart Guided Application Framework, this SC 'session' is then placed in ACTION SUSPEND, until the return from catalog is generated where the session is triggered to reopen with a RESUME command.
If you wish to remove the portal navigation 'back' link, I believe you already have a note for doing so, if this has not worked, re-trace all the steps in case something was missed. It should work. By adding the bypassinb/outb_handler parameters into the call structure you should then have available the Return to SRM link instead in the catalog.
You are also correct, use of teh integrated call structure in SPRO is no longer recommended, it is relevant for older UI technology like ITS.

Annoying window switch in Mail Using Safari's "Mail Link to This Page..."

Anyone else have the annoying problem where they use Safari's "Mail Link to This Page", and it opens a New Mail Composer Window, but then opens Mail's main window right over it, forcing you to switch back to the Composer window?
Only seems to happen when Mail has NOT been running. The main Mail window seems to be programmed to take centre stage when it's opened. Very annoying bug!!

I have Eudora as my default Mailer in Leopard and don't get that, jfyi.

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies
