Using AE with Load Balancing Router?

Hi,
I have two Adsl cable from differents ISPs and one Airport Express (AE), I'm using one adsl in AE and wireless from AE works normaly, when the adsl link fails I change to another ADSL cable. I bought a Dlink DI-LB604 (Load Balance Router) that has 2 Wan ports to receive the two ADSL cables that I have. My question:
Will the Wireless network work if I connect my AE in to Dlink Router using Ethernet cable?
Tks

My question: Will the Wireless network work if I connect my AE in to Dlink Router using Ethernet cable?
It should. It shouldn't be any different than connecting it to any other Ethernet connection.

  • Is it possible to use Apache with load-balancer ?

    Hello,
I'd like to know if it's possible to set up a load-balancing solution made of: Apache Web Server + Hardware Load Balancer+ Cluster of Weblogic Nodes.
In the documents I see Apache server is used only with the HTTP Proxy plugin. But I'd like to use the hardware load balancer to ditribute load to Weblogic nodes.
Is it possible to do it ?
    Thanks
    Francesco

    Hi,
The configuration you are talking about is possible. All the information is here http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/cluster/load_balancing.html#1026240 , and here http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/cluster/bigip.html#618892

  • System with load balancing server

    Hi All,
We are having SAP NW 7.0 Portal and back end we have R3 implemented in a cluster environment.  The system object in EP have used "System with Load balancing" template; using the LOGON group and the other related parameters.
But we have some problem with the ITS and WAS parameters; since we are using some Transaction iViews.
Let me explain.. for the R3 cluster we have 2 systems PROD1.domain.ext and PROD2.domain.ext. Now in the system object in portal, how to specify the parameters for ITS and WAS parameters? Since the host name in these we need to specify a single server which defeats the basic purpose of having clustered environment.
Can any one please help in resolving this issue.
    Thanks,
    Sravanthi

    Hi Sravanthi,
Please check the below for finding ITS and WAS parameters from backend :
For ITS - Go to SE37 >> Utilities >> Setting >> Click on ICON Right Top Corner in popup window >> Select Internet Transaction Server >> you will find the Standard Path and HTTP URL.
For WAS - Go to SE37 >> Run FM - RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET >> Execute it >> you will find PRefix and PAth paramter for WAS.
Please refer to this may help step-by-step : How-to create a portal system for using it in Visual Composer
    Hope it helps
    Regards

  • Load balanced router hangs

    Hello,
did anybody else also experience the following problem?
    Problem:
The router of a load balanced service object sometimes and all of a sudden stops forwarding incoming requests to its instances, although all instances are available and free.
This finally causes the whole application to hang, since no further call to a method of that service object is being processed.
    Observations:
The dump of the load balanced router during this situation indicates that none of the instances is being used (see below). Besides, the instrument MembersInUse has a value of 0.
CPU load of the nodemgr and the router process increase significantly.
    There is no DB deadlock.
We have had this problem on several different load balanced service objects (at different times; with dialog durations message or transaction).
It does not depend on overall system load or on available memory resources - the problem can occur at any time.
We can solve this lock situation by restarting the router.
    UDS 5.0.3, HP-UX 11
Thanks in advance for any help or hints on what may be going on.
    Martin.

    Hi Mark,
thank you for your response. I talked to our network group, they told me, that there should be no scans going on. Do you have an idea how we could verify this from the application side, e.g. are there any trace flags we could enable to get some feedback?
Anyway, we did further investigations and found the following:
    1) The nameservice contains references to old, non-existing partitions, even to partitions that lived before the last reboot of the system, which are not marked as "[Needs Rebind] [Rebinding]" (showpart in nameservice). By the way, the instrument DeleteOnCommFailure is set to TRUE in our environment.
    2) The directory $FORTE_ROOT/tmp containing the unix domain socket files does not get cleaned up. It contains even very old entries.
    3) Putting 1) and 2) together, we found out that during the hangs of our system, the load balanced router tries to send a message to one of the not-more-existing instances of the Service Object.
    Example:
The following dumps were done while our system was hanging.
The router partition in question is ...:0x3ce25:0x1.
The non-existing partition of the Service Object instance is ...:0x3b913:0x2.
The non-existing process has the PID 16736 (there was such a process running a Service Object instance prior to rebooting the system).
The socket file '/forte/tmp/FORTE_A00004160' still exists.

  • Error in creation of JCO with Load balancing server

    Hi,
We are using a ABAP user base for our WEBAS server 6.40 (with ABAP+JAVA). i have created a Public group in concerned ECC 5.0 system. I have already configured SLD, and then i maintain data supplier bridge in SLD and run RZ70 in ECC 5.0 system to load system information.. i can see details in SLD ..
now i am trying to create JCO connections .. here i am unable to create JCO with load balancing option..  i get
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM  TYPE=B MSHOST=<servername> GROUP=PUBLIC R3NAME=SID MSSERV=sapms<SID> PCS=1 ERROR       service 'sapms<SID>' unknown TIME        Fri Jun 16 12:41:20 2006 RELEASE     640 COMPONENT   NI (network interface) VERSION     37 RC          -3 MODULE      ninti.c LINE        505 DETAIL      NiPGetServByName2: service 'sapms<SID>' not found SYSTEM CALL getservbyname_r COUNTER     1
i am able to create single server JCO, but it fails in load balancing.. is there anything i have  missed out in settings...
    Thanks and regards,
    Sudhir

    Thanks, Bogdan Rokosa
I have the same problem, and solved it following the steps provided by Bogdan Rokosa  :
you must insert an entry for your R3 system
    (like: sapms<SID> 3600/tcp)
    in services file
    (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services) on Java WAS.
I test the Jco successful without restart J2EE Engine.

  • HTTPS with load balancing

    Hi guys,
We have a portal system with instance 08, so we typically connect to the portal using port 50800 for HTTP, and 50801 for HTTPS.
We have just created a second server node for this portal (in the config tool).
When we connect to 50800, does this automatically load balance the user to the better server? From some reading on these forums, it seemed to indicate that load balancing will only occur if I connect using port 8109. (where 09 is the instance number for the SCS of our portal)
When connecting to port 8109, we are redirected to port 50800, as I'd expect.
Question 1 - do we need to use 8109 for load balancing, or can we still use 50800?
Question 2 - If we need to use 8109, which is a HTTP port, how can we achieve load balancing with HTTPS. Is there a different port we need to use to have HTTPS with load balancing?
Question 3 - Is the creation of a second server node the best way to accomodate additional users and load on the portal system, or is there a better way to do things?
    Thanks,
    Michael.

    Better late than never.
The load balancing you describe through the message server has its limitation. It redirects you to one of the dialog server hosts which means that any bookmarks will always point directly to a dialog server which may be down at that moment.
Access directly to a dialog server on port 50800 will sort of load balanc on the java server instances that are on that server but not on other servers.
The general recommendation is to setup an external loadbalancer and SAP Web dispatcher is a good match if the load is not very high. SAP webdispatcher will then bind up the cluster address and act as a proxy towards the dialog servers of the portal. The user will therefore only see one address. This will also work for HTTPS.

    Dagfinn

  • Moving SMTP server to Azure with Load balancer

    How to
move SMTP server to Azure with Load balancer???

    Hi TechM,
Base on my experience, Windows Azure Platform does not provide out-of-the-box mail server (neither SMTP nor POP3). You could use SendGrid to sent mail. About this issue, I recommend you could refer to

  • How to configure R/3 System with Load Balancing?

    Hello,
I've created a Web DynPro Application and I would like to case an iView on  it. According to SAP tutorials I first need to configure an R/3 System with Load Balancing.
My problem is how to configure the "WAS Host Name".
    According to the tutorial:
WAS Host Name = <host>.<domain>:port (this corresponds to the Web Dynpro server location and the port on which it is running eg. PXYZ.wdf.sap.corp:50000.)
I am using NW 04 and my portal is running on this address:
    http://ep6sp9test:50000/irj/portal
When I set the WAS Host Name to ep6sp9test:50000 the Test connection fails (I have privildges and created an alias and User mapping). What should I put at this field then?

    Hi
I think you have to specify the HTTP port og the WAS running the R/3 system. The 50000 port is the HTTP port of your portal - not the R/3 system.  You can see the HTTP port of the R/3 system using transactioncode SMICM - services in the R/3 system.

  • Recommended configuration for load balanced Portal with load balancer, multiple gateways and multiple servers.

Does anyone have a recommended network, hardware and software configuration guide for a Portal installation running with multiple gateways load balanced (ie one URL) that talk to multiple servers?

    David,
We've used Resonate (software) to load balance the gateways. It allows
you to group all the gateways under 1 virtual URL and load balance the
incoming connections over each gateway depending on the rules that you
define in Resonate. Look in the SUN portal whitepapers there is one that
    talks about it specifically.
As far as load balancing the calls to the portals, the gateways will
automatically load balance across all the portals that they know about
using a simple round-robin rotation. You may be able to use Resonate in
front of the portals but you may need to activate persistance within
Resonate to ensure that the user always ends up on the portal that he
established his initial connection on (if you want that), check with Sun
    on this one.

  • BM clustering with load balancing

I want to implement BM clustering with load balancing according to AppNote written by Steve Aitken from March 25, 2005.
It's clear that I need to use two private addresses (from the example, these are 10.10.10.10 and 10.10.10.11). However, I'm not sure what are IP addresses 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.2 used for?
Existing BM servers have two NICs: first defined as private and the second as public addresses connected directly to Internet (they are from different subnets).

What do you mean "aren't able to get out through any of the ip
    addresses"?
Do the addresses show up in any of the proxy nodes with display secondary
ipaddress? Does the proxy console option 17 show the server listening on
    those addresses?
Is the gateway timeout error a BorderManager (or Windows) error? If
BMgr, then check that BMgr has a correct default gateway, DNS is working
(option 4 on proxy console screen) and try dropping filters for a test.

Got it working. I noticed that my dns setting in BM2 didn't coincide with settings in BM1. So, I made them the same and reinitialized the system on both servers. Of course, when I did that, it added the secondary IP addresses. So, I'm really not sure what was stopping it from working before, unless I have something misconfigured that's preventing the secondary addresses from loading. Go figure.

  • Trouble in a SAP system with load balancing

    Hello masters:
I had a trouble with workitems that came from a SAP system with load balancing. They doesn't receive the workitem ID in the UWL.
I created another system in the portal as a "dedicated application server", and made the necessary configuration in order to replace the first one, and then my workitems worked fine.
However, I would like to know what appened with the first system created as "system with load balancing". Why this system didn´t pass the workitem ID to the application (web dynpro abap) that execute the workitems?
    Thank you.

I hope there was some missing configuration in the first case which was not replicating the workitem from SAP Inbox to UWL.
    Thanks

  • Multiple WAN connections all through one router with load balancing?

I am setting up a network in my dormatory for myself and about 20 friends. about half of us have DSL connections at the moment. Is there a way to have all the DSL connections (possibly run through cheap home DSL routers) all connect into a cisco router that then acts as the gateway for our entire network? woudl it be possible for each internet request to go out over the connection that has the least load AND also be able to use some sort of load balancing, so one user cant use all of the outgoing/incoming bandwidth?
If you have any ideas please let me know

    Hi Ian,
To get this working, you would either need to use something like PPP to bundle your links together or use a dynamic protocol.
In bundling the links, you could make them appear as one link, with a single IP address each end and the router takes care of distributing the load. To implement this though, you would need control of both sides of the link, or be terminating with one carrier who is happy to implement this for you.
The second is to use a dynamic protocol (such as eigrp, ospf, etc), which can build up a map of the network to router from point a to point b. For this you also need control of the link.
I can't think of another method, unless you can control the link from both sides. Your other option it to pool your money and buy a larger link or a leased line. If you bought a leased line or two, your carrier would be more than happy to talk to you about routing over that, but generally you're looking at mega bucks for that.

    Mark

  • Using StoneBeat WebCluster load balancing with WebLogic

              Hi,
I have done some testing of WebLogic Server with my company's StoneBeat WebCluster
distributed load balancing software. This might be one more option to consider
as a load balancing solution for WLS. It is advanced in the sense that load balancing
is really dynamic, there are no single-points of failure (distributed architecture)
and there is a very good, configurable test subsystem that runs on each cluster
node to check for overload situations, HW/OS failures, ...
In the initial testing, the WebCluster load balancing works with WebLogic replication,
although there are some cases that need mroe consideration (please see below).
I had to get a patch to WLS6SP1 on NT to make WLS' multicast work when there are
several NICs on the cluster nodes.
However, there is one case which causes problems:
              - I have 3 cluster nodes
              - P: 2, S: 3 (SessionServlet = 1)
              - 2: offline - P: 3, S: 1 (SessionServlet = 2; WebCluster randomly selected a
new node to handle the connection)
              - 2: online - P: 2, S: ? (SessionServlet = 3, WebCluster redistributes the load
              when a node goes online)
              - 2: offline
              - P: 3, S: 1 (__SessionServlet = 1__) NB!
The log messages show that when node 2 comes back online it retrieves the replica
from the secondary (node 1) and not from the primary (node 3). After a while (5-6
minutes), node 3 tries to update the replica on node 1. Node 1 considers this
a stale update request and removes the Primary 16... (node name) and then the
secondary for 16... (the replicated object). Then there's a message (still on
node 1) that it is unable to find object 16... Back on node 3 the primary for
              16... is removed.
From the WLS6 documentation (under the discussion of using replication with external
HW load balancing solutions) I thought that this case would have been handled:
              - it is stated that after the failure of a node, if the HWLB box sends the next
request to a node where there is no replica, WLS is able to retrieve the replica
              - to be fair, this is what happens: when node 2 came back online, it retrieved
the replica from node 1 (the secondary) - I suppose that there is an assumption
that if a request arrives to a node without a replica, the primary __must have
              failed__
Is there any way to get around this problem?
Admittedly, WebCluster has a problem in that the stickyness of connections is
not perfect: - when a node goes online, a connection that was correctly persisted
(based on either source-ip or source-network address) may be moved to a new node
since the load is redistributed. Our load balancing is very dynamic, but doesn't
maintain a list of who is connected to which node when resistribution takes place

  • Internet Load Balancing - Routing Issue

    Dear all, good day...
in our ministry we are going to contract with 2 ISPs to provide us with the internet service (one of them will be the main line 16 MB, and the other line will be working as a backup line). Now, here is my question, is there any router that can holds the 2 ISPs lines at the same time and have the fail over property and load balancing, or i have to use 2 different routers (we have CISCO 2821) to do the load balancing between the 2 internet lines. Thankx

    Hi Tareq
There are many ways you can do.But depending on your requirement. If you are using 2 ISPs and all of ISPs are willing to do BGP then that is the right way you should do. For doing load-sharing.please check this link out.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk365/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800945bf.shtml
Just my thought. In case one of your ISPs can't do BGP then you can use the policy-based routing feature to do out-bound load-sharing(inside to ISPs) by classifying traffics you want.
    Try to understand technology first.
