Using an iPad in Middle School, Can I disable or lock wallpaper?

I have a classroom set of iPads, and although they work great for our needs, the kids are constantly changing the wallpaper, and focusing on this rather than their work.
I need to know if there is a way to lock this feature so the kids can not change it.

Apps can't put locks on basic functions; the development kit doesn't allow that sort of control by third-party apps. That would be something Apple would have to implement. You can express your interest in being able lock such settings to Apple here:

I just updated my original iPad 32 GB WiFi to iOS 5.1 about fifteen minutes ago.  But I did it with the system restore feature in iTunes.  So it wiped out everything on my iPad.  But it did work.  Then I restored an earlier backup and all went fine.  Maybe you could try backing up your iPad and then using Restore to get it back to factory settings to see what happens.

I have a question about using multiple ipads in our school.  Each of our teachers have a iPad and AppleTV in their classroom.  The issue is, with our classrooms so close in proximity to one another, is there a way to pair teacher #1 iPad to its AppleTV without effecting/projecting onto the adjacent teachers #2 classroom AppleTV?

    Not as such.
Give the AppleTV units unique names and also enable Airplay password in settings with unique passwords for each teacher.

First question is will your Mac run 10.7
Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later with the Mac App Store installed
At least 4GB of additional disk space to accommodate the download, but more is obviously
If it will you must upgrade to 10.6 by purchasing the Snow Leopard install DVD from Apple.

  • TS4036 I haven't used my ipad for several weeks and now it is locked and displaying 'This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi'.  I cannot do anything at all.

I haven't used my ipad for several weeks and now I can't do anything on it, it seems to be locked and I cannot unlock it.  The screen just seems to be frozen with the following message 'This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi'.  Help please!

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • How can I disable the lock code on my N8

Decided to setup the mail for exchange on my N8 so I could see my work emails. Worked like a charm but after a couple of hours decided I didn't like being that contactable so deleted the mailbox.
Now to the problem, during setup I was forced to enable the phone lock and had to pick a 7 digit alphanumeric code. Fair enough I thought and went ahead. When I removed the mailbox however the lock remained in place with the default auto time of 30 minutes. When I checked in Phone management there is no option to disable this lock so I thought I could at least change the default time to something bigger but when you try, it remains at 30 mins. You also can't disable the auto time as it pops up an error message saying can't unlock phone.
Does anyone know if I'm missing something obvious here or is this something which can't be disabled once it's switched on? I've done a soft reset back to factory settings with no luck and the only other thing I can think of is re installing the firmware which seems a bit extreme.
Would like to hope there is some way to have control over this. Can someone help?

Which firmware your N8 having now? You can check firmware by choosing Call, then type *#0000#.
My N8 works fine on security setting and able to define Phone auto lock period, by choosing Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone management>Security settings>Phone and SIM card>Phone auto lock period>User defined>Lock after(minutes)
You will prompt to enter Lock code each time u define auto lock priod or enable/disable auto lock.
    Hope this can help you.

  • How can i disable passcode lock

I recently gave my old IPhone 4S to my daughter. She keeps putting a passcode lock on the phone and doesn't remember the code. Is there any way that I can turn the passcode lock off so she doesn't have access to it, or that I can lock that feature where she needs my passcode to be able to access it?

    LOST PASSCODE
You may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device.
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
When the backup is complete, select Restore.
When finished, restore from your most recent backup.
    Otherwise read this
If that doesn’t work  you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it. Or read:
    Enter Wrong passcode

  • What is apples solution to flash when using the ipads in a school environment

I am in a school environment and some apps or web based programs are needing flash to work properly.  What is the solution from Apple on running programs on your ipad that require Adobe Flash.

That is a good solution since Adobe continues to support and update Flash for most laptop operating systems.
As a caveat, if any are using an older Mac OS X or get the infamous blocked plug-in message:Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on October 24, 2014 - Apple Support

  • I cannot call out using my ipad mini but I can receive calls-how to fix

I cannot call out on my ipad mini using facetime but others can call me. How to fix.

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

  • The apple Id on my iPad was signed out. We don't remember the password. The sign in box just keeps popping up over and over even if you hit cancel. Now we can't use the iPad at all. Can anyone help?

the Apple id on my iPad was signed out. we don't remeber the password. I was going to create a new Id for it but the sign in box won't go away. Even if you hit cancel it immediately pops back up. You can't do anything in the iPad because the box won't go away.

If you can't remember its password then you should be able to get it reset (either via email or by answering its security questions) via http://iforgot.apple.com
If you can't get it reset via that page then contact Support in your country, after confirming your id and that it's your account they should be able to reset it : Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support
If your country isn't on that page then try this form and explain and see what they reply with : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

  • Can't disable passcode lock on iPad

For some reason, I cannot see the option to disable the Passcode Lock on the iPad (that should have been there under General > Passcode Lock). I have read about Exchange Server accounts, etc and I don't have any setup on my iPad. I also tried doing a complete restart and that did not help. Finally I tried General > Reset > Reset All Settings, which reset all of my customizations on the iPad, but didn't remove the passcode.
What do I need to do ???

Finally, got it to work! As usual, it had to do with some security settings. It was my office VPN connection that was setup on the iPad. Removing that configuration, got the "turn passcode off" option back again.
I think it's pretty good that this feature is present in the OS. But 2 suggestions for Apple:
    1. The "turn passcode off" option should have been present on the appropriate screen - could be grayed out. That for one would prevent users from hunting about to see if that option is present on some other screen.
    2. If possible, indicate to the user which mail/vpn configuration on the device is causing the passcode to be mandatory. That would have solved all the confusion in the first place.
