Using an iPad to project what is on the screen
Hi:
I would like to know what I have to do and use in order to project on a secondary screen or with a projector, I have heard that only videos or presentations made with keynote, can anyone help me with this subject, I would like to carry only the iPad instead of a MacBook

Thank you to both of you, this solves half of the problem, it seems like ipad is dependent to certain applications that can produce a VGA output, like the ones that you listed in a previous post. Is there an application to produce a Video Output of everything else, like other apps, books, games or simply the same screen that we have in front of our eyes.
I have both the VGA connector and the composite cables, both work great depending on the video input, I also have the keyboard stand, and with my original question the idea is to left the MacBook resting peacefully and sin the iPad for presentations, some of my presentations include the comparison between different ganmes and appps.
Without extending much more on the subject I want to thank you for your time and help, and hopefully someone develops an application suitable for my purposes.

Try to reset it. just press hold the on/off botton (ignore the red slider) just hold it then the ipad is automatically reset. dont worry about your file, there nothing happen to it. Godbless.

Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.

Install Splashtop2 on the PC and enable it to be controlled or ran from iPad or Reflection to simply allow iPad to serve as PC unwired monitor. With Splashtop and an Apple TV connected, you use the smartboard as usual, yet the PC and iPad can see the same content. The impaired child can even interact with the Smart Board via the iPad as if he were writing directly on the big screen. Erasing functions can be done by touching the Smart Board manual controls. Several variables are in play that cause this lack of functionality:
Apple won't permit PC software that infringes its proprietary apps.
Smart Board companies refuse to develop iPad apps because they feel threatened and are being replaced by iPads
School districts think Apple TV is meant for copyright infringement and could expose them to safe harbor lawsuits
Network administrators make it impossible to login Apple TVs because they don't want the streaming occurring
Classrooms are not able to keep up with the technology of using the iPad
Clicker companies refuse to play with iPad because they see it as a potential threat to their core business clients
Apple is not working as hard as it could to exploit its capabilities in education, thus losing money in iPad sales
The bottom line is that we educators and technology developers are hurting our childern with petty conflicts. -
I have an Airport Extreme, the light is only flashing amber and won't go solid green. I use my ipad 2 to try and setup the Airport and I keep getting "an unexpected error occured, try again." I've tried my iphone 4 with the same result. I've tried the utilty on my pc and same result. The airport is producing a great wireless signal and working to all devices. I really just want to get in and set the password.

When you did those resets, did you continue to hold in the reset button until the status light blinked several times? If you didn't, then you didn't do a full reset.
Here's what I do to reset an AirPort base station: I unplug it, press in the reset button, then, while continuing to hold in the reset button, I plug it in. (Yes, doing this can be easier for people with more than two hands!) I then watch the status light and wait until it flashes rapidly several times.
I have a Time Capsule that I couldn't configure at one point. To recover from that I had to unplug it for many hours. You might try unplugging your unit overnight.

When using my ipad air it keeps coming off the page I'm on or app I am using and going back to the home screen. Also when using my ipad the screen will go white with a black apple icon in the middle for about 20 seconds then it makes a ping sound and goes to the home screen. Could anyone help please. my macbook screen goes black at random points when I am using it. I know it is still running as music continues to play and I can vaguely make out the content of what is on the screen. Sometimes the screen will flicker between black and normal. Can I fix this?Emily..

I'm trying to record only part of my screen using my Quicktime 10.0, but once I press record in the "Screen recording" feature it automatically starts recording and doesn't give me the option to choose what part of the screen to capture. What gives?
QuickTime version 10 can only record the entire screen.
10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 offer part of the screen recording. -
I just upgraded my ipad to 6.0. I can no longer expand my audio files so that I can move forwards and backwards. I used to get a diagonal arrow to enlarge the screen and then have a bar that I can move to navigate. Can you help?

I am listening to embedded training files on the Quick Time player (I think). They cannot be copied to protect the information. You only have the option of listening. I used to be able to click on the Q in the audio strip and it would provide a diagonal arrow and this would allow me to expand the bar to a full screen. I then had the bar which would allow me to navigate in case I wanted to listen again or in case I wanted to move forward. After my upgrade, I can no longer expand the strip to a full screen with the adjuster. Now I have not chance to take a break in listening to these audios and most of them are at least an hour long. Thanks for your help. -

Up to you whether you want to get it serviced. If you don't, I'd suggest putting on a screen protector to help hold the screen together and try to prevent further damage. It's likely that it will eventually fail at some point, but you could get lucky and have it continue to work for quite some time.
If you decide you want to get it serviced, Apple does not repair iPads, but will replace the entire iPad for a flat fee. If you have AppleCare+ on the iPad, the cost will be relatively minimal; $49 in the US. Otherwise, see the Service Pricing section here:

There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair". You can also look for parts and instructions and do the repair yourself. Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPad serviced by an unauthorized shop or perform your own repair, you will get no further support from Apple.

When I use the iPhone 5 camera and I zoom in, the picture takes of a lower image than what is on the screen? Anyone else?
You mean like they do in the TV crime show shows like CSI? A cell phone screen from 20 feet is going to be way too small to make any sense of.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

I opened my iPod Touch up to fix my home button. When i closed it back up it had a white screen. I tried pressing lock and home button for 10 seconds and it worked but while i'm using it it goes white with lines on the screen. Help please. This has been happening for a while and i've tried everything but it doesn't work.

I can't read what is on the screen!! help me please!!
when i turn my iPod mini on i can't read what is on the screen. The words have faded so much that i can barely tell if the iPod is on or not.
i've had my iPod for more than two years, and have used it constantly. could this be a sign of old age?? the screen has been progressivly getting lighter only for about 2.5 months.
if there is anything i can do to fix it, or if anyone has any ideas of what could have caused it, please let me know...I called up technical support and they said it could be the logic board or a display issue. If it is the logic board you are better getting a new ipod for it is about $100 to repair however if it is the display it can be replaced with a new LCD screen. I feel for you. I have the same problem. However I do see my display temporarily when the battery is low. I see display for 10-15 minutes. Presently I am going to replace the battery. I have not done it yet though.
