Using an iTunes account from a different country

Hi,
Im currently living in Australia but have a German iTunes account and was wondering if I buy Apple tv from Australia would I be able to use my German iTunes account to rent and watch movies or will it be region locked? Would I have to create a new iTunes account registered to Australia?
Thanks in advance for your help

Absolutely Yes. I do it. I have a US account along with my US registered credit card which I can use in the UK. And vice versa.
The key is your credit card and bank account need to be registered to the country of the iTunes account, not where you happen to be accessing the content from.

  • Using an iTunes Voucher from a Different Country

My friend recently sent me $100 itunes gift voucher from Austrailia. I live in Ireland and I am getting an error saying I cannot use them.
Is there anyway I can redeem these vouchers?

    Not really.
You can send it back and see if your friend can return it.

  • Can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

No, you can only connect to one Home Sharing account at a time. If you want to see the content of the other Mac's library you will have to turn off Home Sharing on the Apple TV and log back in with the other iTunes account.

  • Hi my partner used my email address and iTunes account to set up his iPhone and now both our phones have merged! Does anyone know how to separate these? Can he still use our iTunes account with a different Id or email! Please help!!

HI my partner used my apple id and email address when setting up his iPhone so when he turned on iCloud our phones merged!! How do we undo this? Can he still use my iTunes account with a different Id and can he change the email on his phone without losing information? Also iPad is linked too, the family uses this and I would like to keep my phone separate! At the moment nothing is sacred! Please help! We are not very good with computers!!

Several things here so let me attempt to clarify.
For iCloud the reason the contacts where removed from he other device is because you updated your contacts, in this case deleted them, and then iCloud updated the other device to match. By deleting the iCloud account on the device it will stop the device from using that iCloud account and therefore nothing will change on the other device. By using a seperate Apple ID you can still use the features of iCloud, Find My iPhone comes to mind, without your content (contacts, message etc.) merging with the other device
For iTunes, you cannot use two Apple IDs for one account however if you use the same account iTunes on your computer will keep the content on each device seperate very nicely. You can also configure the settings for iTunes and the App store on each device to keep the content from automatically downloading to the other device. What I meant by share apps and music is this. What happens if you find a game, lets say Minecraft, that you really like and it cost, as Mincraft cost, $6.99USD. You buy it and play for a while and then you realize that your husband really likes the game as well. If you both use the same Apple ID for iTunes he can download the $7.00ish game to his device at no additional charge. If you use seperate Apple IDs for iTunes well... it look like he will also be paying for the game to have it on his account. Same goes for Music and Movies
I hope that clears things up. Let me know if you have anymore question.

  • How do I access and use my Itunes library from a different/new computer?

How do I access and use my Itunes library from a different/new computer?  My computer is no longer working, so I need to be able to access my library from my wife's computer.

Your library will only be where you put it.  Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to the new one.
You can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Download past purchases - Apple Support

  • I have my ITunes account on my home Macbook.  Can I log onto my ITunes account from a different Windows-based computer?

I have my ITunes account on my home Macbook.  Can I log onto my ITunes account from a different Windows-based computer?

Yes, but your iTunes library won't automatically show up on a different computer; putting it there is a separate process.

  • HT1203 How can I access my itunes account from a different computer as I need to cancel a subscription and I am on holiday at the moment

    Hello
I need to access my itunes account from a different computer as I need to cancel a subscription and I am on holiday at the moment.
Am I already now logged in to Apple ??
    Thanks

If the Computor you are on has iTunes library go to tunes as if u were going to buy a song or film and you can log into your account. At the bottom of the iTunes home page you should see the user that is logged on usually a email address. Click on it to log them out and enter your own apple I'd and password. You can then update whatever you want and log back out after

  • Using (Gmail) IMAP account from 2 different Macs using Mail ?

Would it be feasible/useful to access an (Gmail) IMAP mail account from 2 different Macs using Mail on each Mac?
    My current situation:
    - My main computer is an iMac in my bedroom on which I use Mail for my Gmail IMAP account.
    - Sometimes (ex: late at night) I can't work from the bedroom and use a PowerBook and the web interface of Gmail. However, I don't like the threaded view for managing emails and therefore prefer the Apple Mail interface.
    Question:
Would it make sense that I use Apple Mail on the PowerBook to access the Gmail account instead of using the web interface?
    What would be the inconveniences?

Doing so is pretty easy, and standard. That is what IMAP accounts are for, and many computers can access the same account, and what email client they choose doesn't matter.

  • Using your itunes account from a a computer besides your home's?

We have dial up here(cursed since we're outside broadband availability) and downloading anything sizeable just isn't an option because of speed and the fact that it shuts down automatically after 4 hours. If I go to my cousin's can I use his as long as I use my itunes account?

Happy to hear because I was really concerned about updates and whether or not I'd be stuck with old software

  • HT1203 how do I share some music on same itunes account without changing music using same itunes account, but two different ipod touches

I need to know how to stop losing / adding music I like/ dont like to my and my brothers ipod.  I gave him my older ipod(2nd Gen) with music on it already. I bought a ipod (3rd Gen) also. Both devices are registered to me; but I gave my brother the older one.  Now when either of us add / delete music it affects both ipods when either one on us sync.  We use the same computor(windiws7), he uses his own account on the computor, butit accesses the same itune/ library.  How can we split the itunes music between the two ipods?

    Hi gail,
Thanks for the quick reply! The music part makes sense, good to know I don't have to duplicate the lot. The big question stillr emains as to whether iTunes can cope with two different iPhones, running different versions of the iOS, and therefore different app versions.
Currently all the apps in iTunes are years old, and many haven't updated in months (years?) because the 3G is running iOS 4.2.1 (and can't be upgraded). Many of these have since been updated in the iTunes store (for the various incarnations of iPhone since) and the old versions that my 3G requires have been replaced.
I'm worried that syncing the 4S running iOS 5, and running the most recent updates for same apps, will cause iTunes to overwrite the old 3G compatible ones when I sync. Unless iTunes is smart enough to know which version of the app is for which OS, without updating the legacy version when I update the apps on the 4S?
You guys shouldn't face that problem, as iPad and iPhone apps don't replace each other (I believe? Not sure about this) as new updates are released for each app, you'd have a copy for each device (for example Evernote for iPad, and Evernote for iPhone). I can't figure out if iTunes can handle keeping separate iPhone versions for Evernote iOS 4.2.1 and Evernote for iOS 5. My gut feeling is no, but I want to amke sure before I lose the legacy versions of each app.
Of course, maybe I'm just paranoid and iTunes is in fact perfectly capable of keeping old and new apps in the same library?
    Cheers

  • Using my iTunes account on a different computer ?

If I log into my Itunes account on my moms computer to use her CD/DVD drive, download the music to my iPod, will it show up in my iTunes account? I really don't want to have to purchase the external drive.

I really do not understand you question. You can import music from other than your syncing library/computer by manual managing music. Yo can get that music into the library by importing from a CD.  It with then be on your iPod.
Unless you purchased the music from iTunes it is not in your account.

  • TS1368 I am trying to update my new iphone, and need to access my itunes account from a different computer.  How do I do this?

I have a new Iphone 5 that I am trying to sync with my existing itunes account.  I need to get this to sync to a different computer, than what I originally set it up on.  Every time I plug it in, it takes me to my daughters itunes account, and wants to sync up with her music.  How do I change the itunes account?

Hey Mike, just sign in the iTunes Store and authorize your account on this machine (don't worry, you'll be asked for it), then you will ready to use it.

  • HT1473 I am trying to connect to Itunes & add content to my library but I can not locate my Itunes account from a different computer which I have changed computers & Iphones.

I cannot find "Other" devices. I found Apple Mobile Device under Universal Bus Controllers but cannot see "recovery mode" or any other status. I use Windows Vista.
When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes.

  • I want to use my itunes account for a different iPod.

My husand gave me his old iPod 5th generation (black front/silver back).  My account is attached to an iPod nano I no longer have.  What do I need to do to change his ipod over to my account?  (His iPod is called an iPod video, I think, and it is metal not palstic.)
    - Do I have to delete all the albums he has loaded on it?
    - Can I avoid downloading all his music onto my computer?  My computer has almost no memory left.
    Thanks!

You can sync as many ipods as you like to your account/computer/library.
Just restore the ipod before using it.
